I don’t know how Emma manages to do it, but every single book she releases completely obliterates my expectations. She is constantly outshining her last release, and let me tell you, she set the bar dangerously high with this one! I literally devoured this entire book in one sitting. The words felt laced with crack I was hooked from page one and couldn't put it down. It is by far my favorite read of the year!
The pacing of this book was absolute perfection. The stakes and the tension were off the charts, keeping me on the very edge of my seat from Harlow’s high stakes escape to the intense capture, right down to Scotty uncovering the truth and figuring out how Stella set everything up. Every single plot point wrapped up beautifully.
The dynamic between Scotty and Harlow? To die for. Their fiery, intoxicating chemistry had me giggling at the banter and kicking my feet. Scotty's mouth and his utterly dominant aura? Whew. 🥵 Need a man like him in real life immediately!
And Harlow is the ultimate badass female main character. She completely held her own, and her words were as sharp as knives. The tension between these two was so thick it had me screaming "just fucking kiss already!" through half the book.
Emma truly outdid herself with this masterpiece. Not only did she deliver an incredible main story, but she set up the side characters perfectly. I am already desperate to get my hands on Malik and Amber’s story, and I need to know more about the other brother, Geo. (Also... I HATEDDD STELLA!! 🤬)

Did I stay up until 4am to finish this…why, yes, yes I did 🤭
It’s quite an addictive read once you start you can’t stop! The need to know was very high and I won’t make any apologies 🤣 Emma has an uncanny ability to draw you into her characters world ensuring you become a part of it. There were some parts I predicted early on, though I guess that’s just what Emma wanted you to figure out, other twists came as a WTF moment. She builds up her characters to the point you have feelings for them, then bam! She hits you with a part that your heart literally palpitates with angst and emotions you aren’t sure you want to explore. The MCs are both unhinged, their past ensuring their future isn’t without darkness. There are also some amusing moments especially the FMCS comebacks. I am not giving you anymore because it’s a book you should read yourself if you enjoy mafia romance, a strong FMC and obsessive love.

Okay… can we talk about Scotty Monaghan for a minute? Because this man is a walking red flag, has a God complex, and apparently I have absolutely no survival instincts when it comes to fictional men. 🚩
And then there's Harlow Steele, aka *The Storm*.
Fresh out of prison, full of attitude and definitely NOT the kind of girl who waits around for someone to save her. She's got claws, she's got fire, and she's giving full-on diva cat energy. I LOVE HER.
Now put these two together and what do you get?
A whole lot of trouble. 😂
Scotty is used to being in control, but Harlow isn't exactly the obedient type. She challenges him, pushes his buttons and gives him just as much attitude as he gives her. And that's what I enjoyed about their dynamic. Neither of them is willing to back down, they complement each other, and their chemistry is definitely there.
Their banter, the threats, the power struggles… these two really do match each other's freak.
And the micro tropes? GIRL. 🔥
✨ She plays with fire, so he returns the favour.
✨ His nickname is tattooed across his fingers.
✨ Violence is their love language.
✨ They match each other's freak.
✨ Heated banter & threats.
✨ He calls her Little Storm.

Harlow is not here to be tamed, Scotty is definitely not here to behave, and honestly, watching these two go head-to-head is one of my favourite things about this story.
I also loved how Harlow keeps her own personality and never turns into someone who simply follows his orders. She's The Storm for a reason. And Scotty? Well… let's just say that red flags have never looked so tempting.
Overall, Temptation brings us a dark mafia romance with two strong personalities, a deliciously chaotic dynamic, plenty of heated moments and quotes that definitely deserve a highlight of their own.
Emma, you really gave us a God and a woman who has absolutely no intention of worshipping him quietly.

The enemies to lovers was definitely hitting the spot cause these two are so are crazy but also do not play about each other and their sizzling tension was hitting up more and more every chapter. Harlow is blackmailed/kidnapped to work for Scotty family after she unalived an “important person”.
I just love these two so much their chemistry is just so good and don’t even get me started on the spice!? Have me fanning myself. I was hooked on these two from their first interaction it was just so amazing and I loved how Harlow was literally baiting him over and her and he lowkey loved it
Harlow is a contract k!lker and her dad taught her everything she knew before he died but he did leave out some major things, Harlow is honestly the love of my life I love her so much and will do anything for her. Scotty is the mafia’s enforcer but he’s also the heir whenever he’s ready. Scotty is an morally grey mmc who’s nickname is “the god” he’s so hot I love him
This is my first Emma book and definitely won’t be my last cause this book was so good and until the next book comes out I’m gonna read her other books cause I just love her writing style. I loved how we got a little bit of everything in this book especially with the plot I was sat and don’t even get me started on the last 15% I was going through it lowkey lol
Harlow and Scotty are so twin flame coded, I love them so much and their growth with each other is amazing and I love how they became so obsessed with each other but we’re still enemies and lovers loll, these two just have my heart! Can’t wait for more of the brothers!

I was so excited to read this book and I am so glad I got the chance to ARC read this book because it has everything. Another amazing story Seriously add this to your TBR.
Pros in my opinion:
The tension between MCs in this book is wild. Both complement each other and their chemistry just works that when they finally admit their attraction you just can’t wait to see them in action on a personal level and with the storyline. Scotty’s dynamic with his brothers Malik and Geo were amazing to see and I can’t wait until we see more of them and I am finding myself liking all three as each one brings a different thing to the table. Harlow’s tough exterior hide pain that only someone like Scotty could understand her and care for her. I enjoyed every single thing they did to each other to mess with the other, but when it finally came down to them actually going for what they want it turned into an amazing duo. I also enjoyed that even though Harlow doesn’t have many people around her growing up other than her father it was nice to see her find people and begin opening up. I knew I was going to enjoy reading this and I am honestly proud to say that it has succeeded in my expectations and I am looking forward to the series continuing. Ok Lastly…..can we talk about the necklace? The gesture was so sweet.
Cons in my opinion:
I just want more Malik and Geo but I am just being greedy. At first, I will admit when I saw the amount of chapters this book had I was dreading having to reading it because too many chapters isn’t really my thing however, this book deserved all the chapters and more. It really made the story and it was necessary so I wouldn’t really count it a con but that’s just a little opinion. I have personally because I struggle to find anything bad with this book.

Her desire to exact revenge on her father and track down the person who stole him from her is too strong for her to keep her promise to her dad to not go to Scotland. She is unaware that the person who took her father's life, Tim, is one of the best enforcers of a mafia family (Scotty's partner).
Harlow is a strong, independent, sassy and chaotic girl who is not easily intimidated by men. Her father has taught her to stand her ground and not rely on anyone throughout her entire life.
Scotty is a powerful, devoted, protective and unhinged man who will stop at nothing to keep his family safe. As the family's well-known ruthless enforcer, he must spend time to tame Harlow, which is not an easy task for him, but he enjoys it very much every time when she gives him attitude.

Scotty and Harlow's chemistry is explosive. Both of them have strong, deep and uncontrollable feelings. Harlow's craziness and her ability to stand her ground against Scotty appealed to me. Despite the fact that he put her to some tests, she continues to push his buttons and challenge him, which only makes him wilder. Their interactions and banter become more intense and wild as they spend more time together. They make an effort to resist giving in to their profound attraction and desires, but when they do, it's unbelievable and out of this world.
The storyline is exceptionally written by the author and I enjoyed how she described all their interactions, banter and spice moments.
Also, I enjoyed the fact how the big bad boy will become a good boy only for Harlow.

My first time reading Emma Barrie-Blair, and now I can confidently say I NEED MORE! This book was deliciously dark and completely addictive. You will find yourself turning page after page, telling yourself just one more chapter, only to realize you've lost track of time and sacrificed some sleep!
I was drawn into these characters from the very beginning. Harlow is a strong, fiery, badass FMC who takes absolutely no prisoners. And Scotty? He's a walking red flag, and I absolutely loved every minute of him! The chemistry, banter, threats, power struggles, nicknames, and two incredibly strong personalities made this story so much fun to read. Add in all that spice, and you've got one hell of a mafia romance!
If you love a good **touch her/him and die** mafia romance filled with darkness, morally questionable characters, twists, turns, and plenty of spice, then add this one to your TBR. You won't want to miss it!

This isn’t just your ordinary enemies-to-lovers mafia romance. I absolutely adored the pacing and the tension woven throughout the story. The relationship between our FMC, Harlow, and our MMC, Scotty, was so delicious! From their banter and fiery interactions to going from wanting to kill each other to slowly falling for each other, I was completely hooked.
I also really appreciated the storytelling and writing. Without venturing into spoiler territory, watching the story unfold and all the pieces come together was exciting, clever, and incredibly satisfying.
I’m especially thrilled that this is going to be a series! One thing I appreciate most is the attention to detail when it comes to the characters. By the time I finished book one, I already felt familiar with the characters who will be taking the lead in the next installment. I love that the groundwork has already been laid, so moving into book two will feel like catching up with familiar faces rather than starting all over again.

I love Emma’s writing and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one and it did not disappoint!
The story follows Harlow a contract killer who finds herself captive and forced to work for the very family responsible for her father's death. Then there is Scotty Monaghan, the dangerous enforcer who is meant to train her and keep her in line.
I absolutely loved Harlow! She was such a badass FMC and I loved that she could hold her own against Scotty. Their back and forth was so good and I loved that she wasn't afraid to give him just as much trouble.
And Scotty? Yes please 🫠 He was dark, dangerous and exactly the kind of morally grey MMC I love. I especially loved seeing this man who answers to no one become completely obsessed with Harlow.
The chemistry and tension between these two was 🔥 I loved their dynamic and how they were both as dangerous and stubborn as each other.
I loved everything Emma did with this story. It had everything I love in a dark mafia romance and I flew through it! I cannot wait to see more from the brothers and where this series goes next.

It was dark, sexy, angsty, with plot twists and banter galore. I adored Scotty & Harlow’s dynamic both unhinged as each other, both never willingly to back down, both down so bad it drives them insane. The way he calls her ‘little storm’ gah, had me all gooey.
Emma! EMMA! The scene in the forest. OMFG!!! My poor heart!!!!! How dare you do that to us.
I wanted to see more from the other characters- mainly Scotty’s bothers and Amber. Amber & Harlow’s budding friendship was everything. I’m excited to see if my suspicions about who the next book will be about are true.

I received this book as an arc and I am obsessed.
Harlow is very head strong and I love her slightly psychotic tendencies. She stands her ground and does it with such passion. She’s deadly and mysterious and certainly knows how to make a stand.
Scotty is your typical mmc and everything you want him to be. Hot, rich, powerful, dangerous, obsessive. I’m going to be honest, the real hook for me was when we met Scotty, after that I could not put it down. And one of my favourite things was the dual POV. I loved watching him try to tame Harlow.
God and the tension between those two was fire 😉. There was no denying that they were made for each other. The way they tested each other honestly had me giggling.
I think we also need an honourable mention for the spice. There was more than I had anticipated and I loved it, it was perfect; the nick names, the desire, the undeniable tension and lust.
I want more.

This book is a dark mafia lover's dream, but Harlow completely stole the show for me. If you love a female main character who is completely lethal and commands every room she walks into, you will love this book.
She is easily the deadliest person in any room she walks into, and she holds her own flawlessly against everyone else—giving back just as much as she gets.
The forced proximity and mutual hate between her and Scotty made their dynamic absolutely explosive. The storyline completely hooked me, the spice was phenomenal, and I was pleasantly surprised by how many genuinely funny moments were packed into the story. Highly recommend!

WOW… seriously, where do I even start?
This was my very first read by Emma Barrie-Blair and it will not be my last!!
Temptation had me hooked from page one!!
Nothing, I'm mean enough prepared me for the sheer intensity of Harlow (Little Storm) & Scotty (The god).
The dual POVs was absolute perfect... their dynamic was sharp, lethal, and incredibly hot 😈.
The forced proximity and enemies-to-lovers tension kept me on the edge of my seat, but watching the pure unhinged mutual obsession change throughout the read was. Ugh.. 😱 They match each other's dark vibes perfectly.
If you love dangerous main characters, razor-sharp banter, and a dark romance that burns the house down, you need to read this immediately.
An absolute 5+ STARS For Me!!!

I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC copy of Tempted, Book 1 of the Dark Vice Series. This was an absolutely amazing read by the incredibly talented Emma Barrie-Blair.
I would strongly recommend that you carefully review the trigger warnings, as they are included for an important reason and should not be overlooked.
Can I just say it was completely mind-blowing I genuinely loved the entire book from start to finish. I was fully hooked throughout the whole story, from beginning to end, with nothing losing my attention. The dialogue and banter between the characters, along with their rivalry, were truly top-tier and really made the story stand out in a memorable way.

Emma seriously! How did you manage to write absolute perfection that I needed in my life as much as I need oxygen! The plot alone had me hooked, mix that with Harlow and Scotty, a power house dynamic and never wanted to put the book down to adult. Their banter was so much fun, between Scotty being a sexy,mouthy and dominate man and Harlow being a sassy baddie, you knew these two would leave you with nothing but a good time. The tension added in here had me sweating, I'm a sucker for tension and yearning, capture and an intense ride to escape, the set up for other characters stories and the spice when it hit, just oof! Give me more Emma please!!

The twists; the turns and the secrets all unraveled perfectly and I just loved how the storyline flowed.
The side characters I'm hoping are an introduction into their own stories because I NEED MORE.

I knew I was going to love Temptation, first because I love anything Emma writes, and second because Harlow is the kind of FMC I love. She isn’t just there, falling in love - she is ALSO a mf problem. 😂
Harlow is a contract killer with a love for setting fires. Scotty is an enforcer who very quickly realizes the feral little woman dropped into his life might be jsut as messed up as he is. And their dynamic was easily my favorite part of this book. The banter, threats and sexual tension were SO good. The second half of the book definitely got me emotionally, with the secrets, betrayal, separation and Scotty realizing just how completely gone he is over this woman.
Another 5 star read from Emma.

When I picked up this book, I could not put it down! Scotty and Harlow's banter so was good and witty! The characters themselves are both badass but especially whenever Harlow acts innocent yet could take down everyone in a room. I really enjoyed plot, characters, and ending. I would def recommend! And will not be the last book I pick up from this author

I absolutely love Scotty and Harlow! Harlow’s fiery, snarky attitude is fantastic, and the trouble she gets herself into because of it is all part of the fun—and she loves every minute of it! Scotty is completely obsessed with her and can’t seem to get enough. Add in betrayal, unexpected twists, and plenty of surprises, and this story had me hooked from beginning to end. This was my first read by this author, but it definitely won’t be my last. I can’t wait to read more from her!

Emma you’ve done it again you sweet sweet magician!
This was everything I hoped it would be and more. I was hooked from the jump. I honestly think I highlighted majority of the book. The banter was phenomenal, the plot be plotting and the spice was top tier. This book at me laughing, crying, yelling, kicking my feet and gasping - emotional rollercoaster to say the least.
I really hope we get more from the side characters because they were so well developed I need to understand their stories and see them get their happily ever after and so we get lil snippets of Harlow and Scotty 🤍

This book is completely unhinged and I loved it! Harlow is a fierce FMC, I loved her character. Scotty, that man was dark and dominating. They have an electric chemistry and hilarious banter that holds so much tension, I swear it bleeds through the pages. Oh and when the enemies be one lovers... Let's just say💥💥💥. Do not miss out on this one add it to you TBR!!
