This was so....sensual. Yes the BDSM was loud and strong, but the undercurrent was respect, patience, loyalty, and eventually love. There was nothing raunchy about it, it was sexy AF.
This was a best friends little sister trope that was written so well that that part was put on the back burner as these two discovered each other. I enjoyed their dynamic. Especially the fact that Jarvis, a dominant all his life was willing to bend for Nailah. He gave her a safe place to feel dominance, to ask for exactly what she wanted, and to also find power in the choice.
I enjoyed the series and loved how different they were. And the cover, chef's kiss 😘
Office Hours reminded me that sometimes you don’t need to find yourself… you just need somebody to remind you that YOU’RE THAT GIRL. Take up space. Say what you want. Be confident. Be loud. And stop shrinking yourself to make other people comfortable.
Sasha basically said class is still in session, but this lesson was about knowing you’re the shit and standing ten toes down in it. Study Guide taught me a few things, but Office Hours said now apply what you learned.
I am thoroughly enjoying myself and learning a lot by reading these books.
Office Hours is BDSM focused, both Nailah and Jarvis switch and it’s delicious to read! Jarvis is Nailah’s older brother Malik’s best friend who has always had a thing for Nailah but kept it cute until she made her move. I love how Jarvis saw Nailah from the beginning and empowered her to walk in her strength and authority. All of their scenes together were sexy af and the love that blossomed between the two was beautiful to read.
My only nitpicky critique is that some parts felt repetitive—we’d read the scene in Nailah’s POV then we’d get some of the same scene once it gets to Jarvis’ POV. The timing of how long Jarvis and Nailah knew each other was also confusing. I’d see 7 years, then 12 years then 10 years and I couldn’t keep track of what was what. I’m not sure that the numbers were completely vital to the story and probably could’ve been omitted.
Anyways, I am LOVING the Curriculum. I’ll be back for her next drop in September 😎
Nai is a strong Black woman. I’m glad she stopped hiding. I’m usually not a fan of sub or switch men but Jarvis wasn’t playing. Even when he wasn’t in control, he still was Daddy.
"And with family, with the people who love you, saying no feels like taking something away from them. Like the relationship only works because you keep giving. Like the moment you stop being available, you stop being necessary. That's what I was unlearning. Not confidence, boundaries. Different lesson entirely."
...whew ❤️
Second 5 star read by this author. So beautifully written. This was so poetic.
Part of the Curriculum series from author Sasha Penned It (start with Study Guide, which is just as good), Office Hours asks, “What happens when you discover what you’re capable of wanting?”
Our FMC Nailah is used to making herself small, trying to blend into spaces so that she isn’t noticed. But what she doesn’t know is that our MMC Jarvis has been watching her for years. He’s not a creep; he’s just been observing, waiting for a sign from Nailah that she’s ready to step into his world.
Did I mention that Jarvis is the best friend of Nailah’s older brother? 👀
Don’t let that stop you from reading though, because it doesn’t stop Nailah and Jarvis, and what occurs between the two is a must read. With Jarvis, Nailah finds someone she trusts enough to take up space with. Finally she’s found someone who she feels safe enough with to want to notice her.
This was good. I think it reminded me sometimes you dont know what you need until its presented in front of you. Like it will just speak to you. People always say how do you know you like that experience, and for me its like ive been fortunste enough to have men willing to let me explore. But also, I was learning about myself. Im getting to a stage where im leaning into who I really am. Like really leaning into what I know about myself and activating it out loud. In a way I felt like Nailah, different but similar. Like that feeling of being comfortable to lean into my own skin confidently and loudly. But yeah this book made me think I need to go do a deep dive online and explore what I think I know. It brought up so many moments in my past thst have me like hmm interesting!!!
Anyways, good book, this one and Study Guide made me think whenever I do finally get back to that part of my life ill probably have such a different approach. And im excited to try it.....one day lol
This author is exactly who she thinks she is! With another book written that needs to be read cover to cover! Start with the dedication, as she reminds you that you are the shit! I view this as a story one of self exploration. I love the way the author cultivated both a space & a relationship that allowed our FMC to exist in whatever way she chose to show up. I love the way we spoke about modesty and being perceived. A theme that continues from book 1 to book2 in the series is being able to be verbal and communicate what you want. I absolutely love that this story speaks to choosing to be visible in the ways you desire. The difference between private and being hidden. Choosing how you want to be seen, and not being controlled. A love that stands with you.
Whew I was not expecting Jarvis & Nailah to take me on a WILD RIDE the way that they did. And I had AN AMAZING TIME in their spaces! The way Jarvis was SHOWING OUT 😮💨😮💨😮💨🪭🪭, he really bloomed Nailah into what she had been hiding from. Not because she felt inadequate, but because she was protecting herself. Jarvis was somebody she didn’t need to be protected from, and he showed and PROVED. The chemistry between the two of them….the yearning….CHEF KISS DELICIOUS!!!! I learned so much from reading this! I love how Sasha writes her characters UNAPOLOGETICALLY stepping into what they REALLY DESIRE. I love how Jarvis really allowed Nailah to come into her own, not control her in any way. Their chemistry was undeniable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND read for me !
WHEW! Now let me tell you about this study guide! 😮💨
When I say I am SO intrigued, I mean my mind is going, WOW! I’m genuinely interested in learning more. I found myself Googling, looking things up, and diving deeper because so much of it resonated with me.
And yes, baby… this book was SEXY! 🔥 But honestly, I think what stood out to me even more was the message about finding your voice, discovering your passion, and embracing both at the same time. There’s something powerful about realizing what speaks to you and having the courage to explore it.
This book definitely gave me something to think about—and something to research!
This book was amazing and so uplifting!! * spicyyyyyyyy alert***** This book follows Nailah who often hides her self in rooms because of past experiences with the opposite sex. However Jarvis has always found her in any room. This book brings on a whole new meaning to trusting the person you’re intimate with. This book will enhance your self confidence, secure your insecurities and show the beauty in vulnerability when there’s trust. I recommend every adult read this with open minds and the willingness to learn something new.
I read this one a little slower than the first one and for good reason. i had to stop a reflect a few times. I loved Jarvis and Nai! The “thank you daddy” really did it for me! Watching her step into her own because he gave her the space to do so was beautiful. And a man who can lead but also desired to be lead was beautiful! The fact they could switch roles so smooth was beautiful! I am loving the curriculum . I feel educated and i was definitely taught lessons my damn self !
“The lesson was to be the one in control. The lesson was don’t let control live in only one direction”
I love that the FMC as well as the MMC weren’t just one sided. they took turns on who’s submissive and dominant because why can’t one be both!!? exactly!!! that is fitting in and out of the bedroom. This series was a great lesson for everyone. The author is new to me and this series was a great first impression.
This book……this book really opened up my thinking on the sensory perception and can honestly say I may have to dive into this experience! I love learning a good lesson and baby did I learn a few whew! Plz check this book out after the first one and compare the lesson from both!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 This was good and spiccyyy. This one had more of a story line and I enjoyed it. One of the tropes is Brother’s Bestfriend 😏. I loved the different dynamics in the BDSM scenes. Every thing is very well written and was explained to the T.
I would recommend this especially for my BDSM lovers! 💖
Before you even get to the story the course objectives is a must read. I definitely enjoyed this book and the lessons it taught.. To be in a room full of people and shrinking yourself and having just one person truly see you.. Literally the best feeling and this book showed that and so much more.
Use your voice, say what you want and stand in it. I enjoyed this read. This is a new to me author, the cover is what caught my eye and brought me in. Jarvis was a patient man and waited his time to get what he needed. I love seeing Nailah’s growth, but I didn’t agree with how she handled the situation with her brother.
So this book is very sensual. It has a type of peace surrounding it; no chaos. Both Jarvis and Naliah learn how to let go and be free. The ability to give others control and allow on to be seen was definitely something that was being taught here. The way it was written just had a calming sensation to it.
When I tell you I did not want to this book to end. It gave everything body empowerment, spice🌶🌶🌶, kink, softness. My girly parts was soaked and I did a read aloud to my husband who also approved. Ugghhh I truly enjoyed reading this book. This will not be my last read from Sasha you gained a reader for as long as you write. Enjoy guys.
This a new author to me and let me tell you I’m all in. This book was exceptional; it was so well written. I loved the way she pulled the reader into the mind of the characters I felt every word she wrote. The spice was perfect in a way that made you feel as though you were invading the characters privacy. Do yourself a favor and read it. You won’t be disappointed! Well done Sasha!
Not only was this a good spicy read, but it was cute as well! Outside of stepping into their switch roles, Jarvis and Nailah were so cute. Seeing them in different spaces and different environments, learning each other and themselves? Loved it. Nailah had always known who she was, but Jarvis provided her an opportunity and a space to be her full self.
Definitely a spicy read but actually teaches you something! No more shrinking yourself in a room full of people. Somebody gone notice you every time! Very enjoyable! A brother best friend trope done right!
When a man awakens a version of you that’s been in there ALL ALONG…whew chile! And the crazy part? You actually LIKE this version of yourself! No shame, no regrets, just over here discovering new shit about yourself like…well damn, where have YOU been?!
I would have finished this book in two hours if I didn’t have stuff to do. This book kept me engaged the whole read. I feel like “orchid” was finally able to be seen and be herself with her brother’s best friend.
This book was so much more than the physical. I didn’t expect for it resonate with me the way it did. Every woman who has ever been told or made to feel like deserves their Jarvis.
Absolutely amazing story of a woman finding her true self. So much unfolded in such a short amount of pages but never felt rushed or forced at all. Sasha has a beautiful way of writing that feels real and raw and honest. Loved this book so much.
This book was so good! Sensual, sensual! 🔥 I really enjoyed watching Nai stop shrinking herself to make others comfortable and start learning how to take up space. Seeing her confidence grow throughout the story was one of my favorite parts. She really started embracing herself.
Oh I just love The Curriculum. Someone who sees you but waits for you to approach. It's a special talent to see someone, truly see them and not the persona they piut on for the world.
