Loving dogs perhaps set Pat up for wanting to feature animals in her stories. She also loves to stay active playing pickleball, cycling, curling, bowling, and golfing. Volunteering in local theatre and recreational sports leagues also keeps her busy.
Artistic expression isn't limited to words, and painting in acrylic and oils along with hand-knitted items are also artistic outlets for Pat. Recently, singing in a community choir has also been added to the list of ways to keep busy and have fun.
Pat was born and raised in Woodstock, ON.

Wow, I loved this more than the second book of fourth wing! The connection between the sisters and the dragons and the solutions to the problems. I loved all the sisters and of course who doesn't love dragons... Wow I need this book on my self!!!

Wow, what an adventure this book was! Packed with mystical creatures, exciting quests, plenty of magic, and, of course, dragons, this was such a fun read from beginning to end. The story follows the Kingsley women as they set out on a daring rescue mission to save Anabelle, Claire’s daughter and our FMC Kate’s older sister. Anabelle has been captured by the story’s big bad, Dramac, and imprisoned on Qi Ba Ru, a world completely different from the human world. After Anabelle, Doogal, and her dragon, Arielle, embark on their own mission to rescue the golden eggs from Dramac’s control and put a stop to his insane plans, they find themselves in a bind when Dramac turns out to be a much stronger target than they anticipated, and Anabelle is captured.
From there, the story is filled with magic, quests, twists, and turns that kept me hooked. I especially loved reading a female centric fantasy that showcases its characters’ bravery, strength, and strategic thinking.
If you’re looking for a magical adventure that can pull you in from the very first chapter, definitely give this one a go!

I really liked this story. If I could, I would put it as 4.5 stars. The only thing I did not necessarily like was the relationship between Doogal and Kate, since then it has grown on me. I was with the dad at first and was not a fan. But overall, the story was really good. I loved learning about the dragons and about the other mythical creatures. The relationship between the family started rocky, but they slowly grew together. Of course, there were bumps in the road, and well, the dad has his own issues. As a younger sister with an age gap, I was happy to see that representation, even if the gap wasn't as big due to how Qi^Ba^Ru works, but I knew it was there. In all, this was an epic adventure; I really liked it. I am recommending this book to some of my friends who really like stories like this.

I am absolutely obsessed with this stand alone series! It is a great shut your brain off and enjoy book before bed! There’s no freak out to have to keep reading. It’s purely for enjoyment and one that will forever remain on my bedside! I definitely recommend! It has a unique dragon rider experience I have yet to experience anywhere else!

If you’re a dragon lover, magical worlds, adventure, and stories about unforgettable bonds are your thing… add this one to your TBR! 🐉💫
I absolutely LOVED reading this story! ❤️📚
The Sisters of the Legend takes us on an incredible journey with two sisters as they face challenges in their homeland of Earth while also discovering the mysterious and magical world their ancestors came from—QiBaRu.
But one of my favorite parts? The bond between humans and dragons! There’s something so special about the connection they share, and Patricia A. McDonald does a wonderful job bringing that relationship to life.
There’s family, adventure, magic, challenges, dragons, and a whole new world to explore—and being Book 2 of a trilogy, there’s even more story waiting to unfold!
🐉 Dragon fans, this one is for you!
📚 If you’ve read Book 1, you definitely won’t want to miss this chapter of the journey!

Review of ARC copy given by the Author
Really enjoyed the first book. And this one was just as good. Love how the author included real world issues and solutions to go with them. I love the bond between the females and their dragons. And the Sisters in this story are so different but are both very likeable. Theres dragons, magic, Sisterhood, a search and rescue mission. I would definitely recommend this book for you if your into magic and dragons.

This was such a fun and magical story. I was completely, and happily immersed in this film and exciting world. The way the author took the time to build it, to make it 3D in my mind was so cool. I felt like i was right there with everyone. Going on the venture with them. I didn't get my own dragon though lol. But the description was so beautifully done. It lent the kind of imagery that made reading this app special.
I was completely drawn in by the Dragons and the magic. The suspense and the thrill. This was a beautifully crafted story that I absolutely loved getting lost in for awhile.
