Time is running out. The galaxy is watching. She either dies trying, or becomes something greater than Earth has ever seen.
Kat has clawed her way from the streets to the top of the world, building wealth, power, and influence along the way. But with humanity’s integration into the Galactic Consensus rapidly approaching, she's forced to juggle a corporate empire, interstellar negotiations, and the increasingly dangerous climb through the Tower.
Success has painted a target on her back. Her enemies know where she goes, who she meets, what she owns, and where she's vulnerable. Worse, Kat has no idea who they are, or how powerful they might be. Every raid, negotiation, and sleepless night brings her closer to making the single mistake that'll bring her down.
Money won’t save her. Influence won’t save Earth. In the wider galaxy, only power matters, and Kat’s level is dangerously behind. If she wants to survive what’s coming, she’ll have to throw herself into the Tower and climb harder, faster, and more recklessly than ever before.
When the clock runs out, only the strong will get a say in humanity’s future.
A lifelong fan of Fantasy and Science Fiction, I usually spent my nerdy energy creating overly elaborate homebrew RPG campaigns. As it became harder and harder to juggle schedules for a half dozen players, I eventually made the logical choice and just cut them out of the picture entirely.
Now I write novels. They whine a lot less about critical failures.
This is the second series in the last week whose ending caught me by surprise. I had thought there was simply too much story left to tell to wrap everything up in one book, but this turned out to be a really successful conclusion, well-paced and satisfying.
The greatest strength of this series has always been its characters and dialogue, and it delivered on both throughout. Characters like Belle and Kaleek have been longtime favourites, and both are particularly great in this book.
I hope we get to revisit this universe in the future.
I thought this was a great ending point to the series. It wrapped up the main conflict well, with who got to level 24 first and defeating the main opponent in both the tower and the real world. It also left me able to imagine the adventures continuing on indefinitely, since there was so much left in the tower to go.
The action was well-written, the characters' arcs made sense, Belle was still great. I just really enjoyed this series all the way through, and am glad it was capped off well!

I originally read the first three books on another platform and I was really excited to see the announcement that the series was finished.
I loved the journey to get here and the MC's progression was satisfying. Thankfully the epilogue (sometimes missing) was also present and left the characters in a great spot. I definitely recommend.
A lovely end to a wonderful series. Final book in a series about a cyberpunk girl who plays live action fantasy RPGs with her alien friends. You *must* start at the beginning of the series, else you are doing yourself a huge disfavor.
