Finders A Novel by Stephen King | Summary & Analysis
This is a Summary & Analysis. Stephen King offers a gripping tale of a robbery and murder and what happens after. Along with a buried-treasure-found plot, it presents a metanarrative commentary on how to read well that can be a useful guide for King’s large audience, both lay and scholarly. It offers much to all of its readers, making it a valuable piece and an example of why King is one of the masters of contemporary fiction.
The novel follows the fate of the fortune and unpublished works of John Rothstein, an eminent and reclusive author. June 16, 2015This is not the book I'm reading. Why is there no Goodreads link to the real Finders Keepers book by Stephen King?

Like most of King's books it's essentially fantasy. If you like fantasy (dragons and witches and all that silly stuff) then you'll enjoy this one. Spending paper money that's been sitting in the ground (OK, wrapped in a plastic garbage bag first) in a treasure chest for decades is an example of make believe.. Oh, the hand-written manuscripts were also on paper in the same box. Hmmm ....

Stephen King entertains me more than almost any other writer. His most recent thriller is a terrific summer read. The story begins with the murder and robbery of a retired and reclusive writer who had created a character who inspired many a disaffected youth. The murderers took his money, but more importantly the mastermind of the group also stole dozens of hand written notebooks in which the author had revived and expanded the story of his most famous character.
Cut to 30 years later when a high school boy finds the abandoned cache of money and notebooks. Peter and his younger sister experience the stress of a family coming apart as the parents grapple with financial crisis. Adding to the family strain their father had been one of the many victims of Brady Hartfield, the Norman Bates like psychopath who drove his car into a crowd of unemployed lined up for a job fair. (That story was told in last years Stephen King thriller, Mr. Mercedes.)
Peter knew this found money was a godsend to his family. The meat of the story is what happens next.
A great read!

At first I thought I would have to stop reading this book. The language was so foul, I was very put off, but because of a good friend's recommendation I kept reading. It got better and better, and when Bill from Mr. Mercedes appeared, I was hooked. Can't wait for the next one. Holly and Jerome fascinate me and Brady...well, more evil to come, I'm sure.

Finished this last night...(loadshedding has its benefits). This Bill Hodges trilogy is really really exciting. I can't wait for the final installment! As always Will Patton's performance just keep gong from strength to strength.

Amazingly suspenseful. In some places it really had me on the efge of my feet.
The evil that men do... A totally believable (but frightening) modern day story.
(Will Patton does an excellent job of reading this story!)

This was a fairly predictable story, but still very entertaining. Not my favorite Stephen book, but worth reading.
