A powerful Contemporary Romance. Here is the first book in the ‘Strapped’ Series by Lucia Jordan, written in her signature style of high passion and emotion.
Life imitates art unlike anything Madeline has experienced before.
Madeline Longo is well known in the world of romantic literature as editor of SwanSong Books – the publishers of best selling romance, whose steamy works are popular with readers. Unfortunately what she is not so talented in is transferring that success to her love life, which is practically nonexistent due to the demands of her career. But when she meets Will Bennet—a sensuous romance writer who is not afraid to act on his powerfully seductive imagination—she finds herself for the first time living out her deepest fantasies. He intrigues and excites her, and not before long she finds herself swept up in his world of dark fantasy that’s addictively mind-blowing.
But can Will and Madeline’s careers withstand the force of their attraction? With Will on her mind, Madeline is loosing track of work and her competitive streak is fading. And when she gives Will an ultimatum, will she end up losing him to SwanSong’s biggest rival?
Since releasing her first romance book in 2012, Lucia Jordan has done more than just write stories. She has helped define a genre. As a pioneer of the digital romance revolution, Lucia has penned hundreds of sizzling titles, delighted millions of readers, and earned thousands of five-star reviews. Her ability to blend emotional depth with uninhibited passion has made her a household name, with her hit novel Rock Hard earning a coveted nod as the #1 must-read erotic novel by Women's Health magazine.
But Lucia’s passion extends beyond the page. As the creative force and founding author behind Wild Hearts Romance, she is a champion for the indie community, dedicated to lifting up new voices in a genre she calls powerful, valid, and necessary. She writes for the dreamers and the risk-takers to craft stories that leave nothing to the imagination and remind us all that everyone deserves a happily-ever-after.
When she isn’t fantasizing about her next spicy scene or advocating for fellow writers, Lucia can be found in her sanctuary, a cozy garden gazebo in the Pacific Northwest. It is here that she retreats with her literary trio of cats, Ursula, Colette, and Daphne, to let her imagination wander. With a cup of tea in hand, she dreams up the sizzling plotlines and unforgettable adventures that have made her a bestseller.
I liked this story quite a bit. It was much more than a series of sexual encounters. I liked the weave of dramatic elements that usurped my interest in the carnal element. I liked the base story that supported the intimacy. I think it was pretty well written and I enjoyed a few of the twists. I look forward to reading more of her work.
Madeline Longo is the editor of SwanSong Books and works hard to make it number one in the publishing industry. A free-agent author, Wilhelmina Hugette, makes a lunch meeting after her second series becomes an instant success; only Wilhelmina turns out to be Will Bennett a man writing sexy romances that sell.
Madeline knows better but starts an affair with Will and it goes on for a bit until she realizes that it is hurting her work. The cliffhanger ending left me cold and the romance went out the window with the ending...
I accidentally downloaded this and it wouldn't delete it so. Thought I could flip through the pages and when the boo is "read" I could delete it but NOOOO and now I am stuck with this on my tablet and scarred for life
An editor who wants to be bold and a writer who wants to take here there. This was an intriguing book. Who wouldn’t want to have a sexy man sweep them off their feet and romance them? I love reading that trope. This book does deliver. There’s romance and tension.
There were some quibbles with the story. It’s fast and feels fast. The pacing could slow down just a bit. Also, there were moments I didn’t feel like I was in the story. I was just observing. I like immersive stories and this one wavered a bit. I wasn’t always sure who’s point of view I was in and had some troubles following the story. The characters are fun, though. These quibbles aren’t to say this book isn’t enjoyable. It’s quite enjoyable and the right reader will love it.
I did like the characters. Madeline’s smart, cunning and not afraid to get what she wants. Will is the same way. The combination of them together is fantastic.
If you’re looking for a story that’s tempting, sexy and different, then pick this one up. You’ll be glad you did.
Not sure how i felt about this one. Madeline, editor, gets involved with her new client, author Will Bennet. He uses her as a guinea pig in BDSM so he can write about it. Just wasn’t for me.
If you are looking for a quick, fairly erotic read, this is it. I enjoyed starting to learn about Madeline. Can't wait to learn more about her and find out about Will.
I did find it a little difficult to swallow when Madeleine went so easily the first time with Will, especially knowing her work ethic. I can't believe what Will did at the end, but then where would the drama be? It should be a good series.
Madeline is an editor for a publishing company that publishes romance novel she lives basically dreaming about the erotic scenes in her books as her own sexual life is nonexistent that is until she meets romance writer Will Bennett.
This book really engaged me the storyline was very interesting and the characters well developed.
The title doesn't make any sense for the content. The scenes were short and quite silly actually. It seemed like it was smut for the sake of smut, nothing added for good reading. I would say it's like eating flour eggs butter and sugar all seperately instead of taking the time to make the cake.
It was a short book, but it seemed to me the writer is running somewhere. It happens too fast, absolutely unbeliveable fast. Character description is opposite of the way they beheave. I totally did not like it.
Dive into a fantasy that hits the steam button fast. This little sample left me wanting more. After all what happens when you finally get your fantasy, but it messes with the job you've worked so hard for?
I’m not a big fan of cliffhangers, I consider them bad endings. So I felt a little meh after reading. Obviously there’s more books in the series so I will give them a chance, writing style was good and exciting.

Is that possible to synchronize private and professional interests. Madelaine will go deep inside her feelings to discover it...and Will will be there to her.
