5 "Erotic, dark, action-packed romantic suspense" stars
I read this amazing series last year and have to wait patiently for every single installment to be release. For those who are new to this series, you are in a for treat because right now Callie Hart is offering the entire box set for just 99cent! What are you waiting for?
*spoiler free review (extracted from my previous review for the series)*
I seldom rate a novella 5 stars because I often felt they were too short to garner such rating. Something is often missing, either the incomplete plot or the unresolved issue/relationship. But as I reached the 4th installment, I've decided that this series totally deserves 5 amazing stars.
This is a story of Sloane, the ER doctor who was looking for her missing sister. She is willing to give up anything including her virginity to get any information. That is how she meet Zeth Mayfair, the anti-hero of the story. He is obviously on the wrong side of the law, he is a thug/hitman/criminal and a man with some deviant sexual urges. She should be afraid, but he offer his help that she can't deny.
Initially,I thought this series is going to be heavy on BDSM, but as the series progress, that was actually being toned down. Nonetheless, every sexual encounters are still freaking hot. I mean, he is Zeth Mayfair after all, the man who like to play with his toys and never leave his black duffel bag behind.
Every installment left me pretty satisfied on the sex department, no blue balls for me. But this couple obviously take times to open up their heart and discuss anything deeper than their sexual urges.
On the plot department, there is never short on action and suspense to keep me waiting for every release date. Things just get more and more deadly and more players were being introduced. Oh, the suspense. It was action-packed at its finest. There is a lot of thing happened from #1 to #6, you just have to read it for yourself. Honorable mentioned of the awesome secondary characters, Lacey and Michael. These two deserves all the attention that they deserve as well.
But what makes me love this series so much is that Sloane and Zeth had an understanding and acknowledged what they have together is something special. Zeth can be so sweet sometimes. He started off as someone so standoffish and close up and just wanted to bang, to someone who wants to be a better person for the girl he loves, which is so endearing.
Highly recommended for those who love a highly erotic, slightly dark and action-packed romantic suspense. Everyone needs to meet the legendary Zeth Mayfair!

Callie Hart has secured her reign when it comes to dark, uncut, and raw books.
Her Blood & Roses series is a dark masterpiece.
I was lucky enough to buy this book directly from her at a book signing, and I have to say she was such a lovely person who took her time with us. Did we wait a little longer to see her? Yes. But I felt like she truly wanted to meet me, and that was wonderful.

A man Sloane should stay away from.
A man more dangerous that she has ever encountered, and yet her desire to find her sister is too great. I can’t wait to see if that is a mistake...
For such a short book is was so fulfilling! I am jumping right in to book 2 because - craaaaazy!😍

Not only that she finds herself in charge of caring for Lacey( while Zeth is away on “business” aka finding Sloane missing sister.)
A young woman with a lot of mental issues, who is currently staying with Zeth.
It’s a clusterfuck of emotions. Of rage, anger, pain and terror. And it is AWESOME!
We see a development in their relationship (a little slow progress, but it is a crazy story with not “everyday problems”, so it makes sense it takes time for them to open up).
I love the tension. The chemistry they have is compelling. It’s sizzling and I feel like they could explode at any moment.

I don’t know where to start! It was intense! It was action-packed and it was so hot!

I fucking love it. No. I BEYOND fucking love it.
It takes incredible writings skills to keep this intense and pulsing storyline at 100% at all times. To keep the characters flawed but beautiful, and most of all- to keep them growing. And Callie Hart is a fucking artist at this.
Dark, powerful, sad and gripping.
I cannot wait to read the final because I know it will tear me apart. And this is also why I don’t think I am ready for it. And I hunger, yes I said it, I hunger for that kind of feeling, because it means one thing, and one thing only. It means I have something so incredible and outstanding to look forward to, and it’s one of the best kind of feelings for a reader.

What an impressive action packed, emotional, dark and crazy story!
I can’t stop crying. Shit. I was not expecting this to happen. For it to end this way. It was beautiful and sad, happy and complex. And I loved every minute of it. Boy, did I love it.
The writing is excellent. The plot always gripping, and the characters so hurt and broken, but nowhere near ready to back down. Stunning ending is what it was. Real and glorious.

5 Dark, dangerous and sexy stars
Dark, mysterious, suspenseful and utterly captivating, this series had me mesmerised from start to finish, and I read each of the books back to back across a couple of very exciting days. Each of them is a really quick read, but they’re definitely not lacking in intensity!
This series is one continuous story spread across six novellas:
Deviant
Fracture
Burn
Fallen
Twisted
Collateral
Sloane is a tenacious young doctor who is willing to go to any length to find her missing sister. Zeth is a badass. With an emphasis on the bad. He is an enforcer for a crime-lord, getting his hands dirty for his boss, and being entirely merciless about it. Sloane and Zeth meet under less-than-ideal circumstances, but they share an undeniable connection, and before they know it, they are sucked into a wild and dangerous ride that will change their lives in ways they could never have imagined.
Featuring corrupt crime-bosses, gangs, a highly feared MC crew, a determined DEA agent, people smuggling, sexual slavery, violence, torture and murder, these books are not for the feint-hearted. It’s a dark and dangerous world that these people inhabit, and Callie Hart holds nothing back in showing us that, dragging us right into the twisting and turning story along with Sloane and Zeth.
Written in dual POV, I love that we get to see both sides of the story – through the eyes of a somewhat innocent, and those of a ruthless killer who plays the game, and does it brilliantly. And Hart does a wonderful job at bringing these characters to life. Sloane is intelligent, but I like her willingness to explore her dark side. And Zeth is “pure sex and malice wrapped up in one blisteringly hot, tattooed package”. But there’s another side to him – the occasional smirk and a slight tilt of his lips that hint of something deeper behind his cold and ruthless exterior.
And alongside all of the action and adventure is a beautifully unfolding love story. Technically, you can class this series as erotica because it is hot as all hell. Sloane and Zeth’s sexual chemistry is sizzling, and the sex scenes are frequent, highly descriptive, and full of kink and dirty talk. Some of what goes on is a little eyebrow raising, but it’s consensual, so I could deal with it. And over time their attraction develops into something deeply emotional, and Sloane and Zeth’s journey to get to a place where they can be together in the way that they both so badly want forms a big part of the story.
The overall feel is definitely a dark one, but there are light moments woven into the story as well, and Hart has created a wonderful balance so that it never becomes too depressing. There are parts of this book that had me laughing out loud – I love Zeth’s sarcasm, and the banter between the characters is fantastic – and the romance provides some very sweet (yet still VERY hot) moments. Overall, it’s a very intense read, but one that is highly enjoyable.
I’m usually wary of a series that is made up entirely of novellas – why do that when you can just write full length books? But Hart has done a wonderful job with these. Yes, it’s one ongoing story, but it breaks up into multiple parts so perfectly, and the way the story is told adds a sense of excitement to the whole thing. It’s done so well, and each instalment ends in a good place, but still leaving you hanging and desperately wanting more.
Fast paced, action-packed, suspenseful, emotional, sexy as all hell and full of surprises, this is one of those stories that you finish and just sit back and marvel over everything that you’ve experienced as you take it all in again. Callie Hart has given us an amazing story. It’s a wild ride, and I loved every minute of it.

Such an amazing read!

What an intense ride! Over 1000 pages of non-stop action and suspense. The chemistry between the two MCs was tangible and they both had an amazing journey of growth on their journey to their HEA. Such a fabulous story and I can't wait to see what comes next both her sister as well as them!

Well, I FINALLY finished Twisted and Collateral after all this time. Not sure why it took me so long to get back to this series again. I still love Callie Hart's storytelling, and Zeth and Sloan are still amazing. Wicked, filthy, hot and nasty! It was nice to see Zeth finally let go and let himself love someone. Loved the conclusion to this series as much as the previous 4 books. Guess I need to check out Violent Things and Rebel now.

Sloane is working on becoming a doctor. Currently she is doing her residency in the local hospital. While not working though, she is constantly searching for her sister who vanished.
Zeth is a man who everyone turns from. He sends off the vibe of don’t mess with me to all. He’s done some pretty bad things in his life. Now hearing about a girl who has gone missing, he vows to help the Doc find her sister.
Zeth and Sloane meet for the first time in an unusual way…But it’s that first meeting that has them forever thinking of each other.
As we travel the roads of finding her sister, so many things are uncovered. The people who were thought to be ‘family’, the enemies who were thought to be enemies until the end and of course the loyal ones who will be there till the end. It’s all uncovered and through an amazing journey!
I’ve learned that I definitely want to have Zeth’s babies…yes…more than one! I want that bag to be brought out for me! Popsicles too. The chemistry between Zeth and Sloane is 100% Sham-Wow panty worthy! Had to take a few breathers myself…cool down and regroup before starting back to reading.

Holy Wow! Let me give a warning right now to anyone who is bothered by dark, damaged, able-to-do-violence, kinky anti-heroes, this book isn’t for you. Apparently it’s my book-crack, though, because I was MESMERIZED by Zeth, the MMC, from the first moment the FMC, Sloane, meets him. And that first encounter…..🥵! The way Ms. Hart wove this story, I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through! There are so many layers, characters and moving parts here, I couldn’t put it down because I was so drawn in. As soon as I finished it, I ran to find as many books by Callie Hart on Kindle that I could get. There are two other series tied to this one I’ve got loaded and ready to read😍

I read this back in 2015/16 when it first came out and was excited to read it again as a bundle. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I guess some of it had to do with my reading preferences changing over the years. For one, the H does not stay celibate during their 2 year separation (this is after they have sex for the first time). I also felt the h was really pushing the issue to stay with him. Regardless of how dangerous the situation, she was almost stubborn to be with him and no one else. Then, the unexpected death of one of the characters. Did I think it was necessary? No. I think Lacey could’ve had a different ending than what she was given.
Overall, an okay read with tons of sexy scenes (I mean a lot).

There is something to be said for patience.....
Wait and you can get all 6 books in the box set.....hell yeah baby.
Quite the hours reading, but I loved each book. I think Fallen was the story I liked the most. Maybe it was because of Zeth and him FINALLY owning his feelings for Sloane.....shes his weakness. Tut tut trying to use Sloane against Zeth...ain't gonna happen.
Defiantly a lot going on in this series, but having the books to read back to back help immensely and was no hardship. I probably would have growled if I had had to wait in between releases. So, patience maybe not my best virtue. Oh, well. Damn good read anyway.

The first 30% of this book was AMAZING 5++ stars.. I couldn't get enough.. I started recommending this book to all my family and friends.. But I think I spoke too soon.. The last half was sooooo sloooow.. And really drug on.. 90% on was good.. Not really as exciting as the beginning though.. And on top of it.. I'm frustrated with the ending! It was somewhat of a conclusion.. Yet their story CONTINUES! In a new series.. Which I will not be reading.. 6 books should be BEYOND enough room to write and conclude a story. Beyond bothered :(

Loved this series!!
Wow!! I've been reading this for the last 2 days, and I absolutely loved reading about Zeth and Sloane. I'm kicking myself right now, I've had this downloaded and on my kindle for ages, and only just read it as I noticed that the author is attending a book signing I'm going to soon.
Well, it was amazing - so much action, violence, lots of hot times between Zeth and Sloane. They both grew so much over the books in the series - Sloane becoming so much stronger in personality, and Zeth actually starting to open up, he is so closed off to Sloane emotionally when they first meet. After finishing this, the first I did was head to Amazon and see what else Callie Hart has for me to read, and I'm so happy that I have a lot to catch up on.

Overall this was an enjoyable and quick read. Each book was about 150 pages and short chapters. I liked the suspense aspect. I also liked the MMC/FMC but they were both emotionally unavailable so there was tons of push/pull from both of them. Finally by book 5 they admit their feelings. I think that's why by book 6 I was just over it and ready for the story to end lol. Side characters were good too, so I'll be reading their books next. I'm the type of person when I find a new author and like their book, I will binge most of their blacklist. Callie hooked me with Quicksilver so here we are 😅

It took a while but I've read the whole series as a one book . Some parts was repetitive and I sometimes skipped to move ahead but in total, it was nice .
It felt a lot like watching "Sons of anarchy " again . Same vibe .

The closest thing to Zade Meadows and some Anna Zaires (perfect combination btw) that I've found in a while! It's got the darkness, the danger, and some of the best obsessed smut I've ever read. 100% recommend it to dark romance lovers who like messy family relationships, on-the-run stories, gang and mafia world, etc.

What an AWESOME series. I read book #1 two years ago and didn't continue this series because… well, at that time the books would not fit my reading challenges, lol! Anyway… not sure why it took me so long to get back to this series... but I finally, finally read it and I'm sooo glad I did! This series is fantastic, intense, hwat… phenomenal! I read each of the books back to back in a couple of days. What an amazing ride it was!! A more-than-5 star-read for me!!
I loved the characters, the concept, the storyline, the dual POV... I loved everything about these books: a dangerous, sexy alpha male (Zeth), a hot and kick ass female (Sloane), great secondary characters (I want them in their own books!), a lot of action, drama, suspense, twists, WTF moments, deliciously kinky sex… and a beautiful, unadulterated love story! I loved every word!
First time I read a Callie Hart; I love her writing style… as of now I'm a fan! I will definitely check out the Chaos & Ruin series (more Zeth… only book #3 isn't released yet!) and Dead Man's Ink series (Rebel and Sophia).
Note: I reviewed this series as one book, because IMO it is.
If it's up to me, I would wait with reading this/any series until all parts are released anyway because, well… I absolutely hate cliffhangers and open endings.

I started this series with book #1 and then bought the omnibus. I rated each segment as 4-stars, but when you put it all together it gets all 5.
This story of violence, betrayal, brotherhood, family, kidnapping, deceit, sex and love is a very intense thriller. The H is a lone wolf who has few friends and is in the wrong line of work. The h is a young doctor in search of her sister, and the story is about the things she finds along the way.
Everyone has two stories, with the truth somewhere underneath. The good people are tarnished, and the bad guys are loyal. The sex is intense and rough, while the love is hard to find and harder to lose. Almost everyone dies.
The dual perspective (with some sidebars) was clearly delineated and well done. The fight scenes and car chases were thrilling, and the angsty bits were loud.
I had one minor disappointment

This is an incredible series! I finished all six books in 5 days, it is impossible to put down. I absolutely loved this series and would highly recommend it. Yes, it has some violence and dark subject matter but it is told in such an amazing way that the reader becomes transfixed in the world of Zeth and Sloane. I couldn't get enough of this explosive couple and I can't wait for the Chaos & Ruin Series. I need my Zeth Mayfair fix, lol!!!

I admittedly was already unsure how far I’d get in this book. The beginning didn’t work for me, but I figured I’d at least read far enough to have a sense of the characters, which could draw me in more. Then I got to this line from the male lead’s POV:
“She’s called me [Boss Man] since the day I started paying her to launder my money for me. I could have hired the Jews to do it, but they’re already rich enough.”
That’s not “edgy” or “dark.” It’s anti-Semitic.

I am aware that this is like 6 books but since I am reading it as a set, it seems to me like it is one book that won't even try to get to the point since the first book seemed like a really long prologue, I am breading how much the rest of the book would be like. I might come back to this but IDK. for now, no rating.

I feel like I haven't slept in a week which is true. I started this Sunday night and it's now Friday I have read 6 books in those few days if that's not telling you how GREAT this series is I don't know what will. Seth and Sloane are amazing together.
