Wes Darling Mystery #3

Stranded Naked Blues

Rate this book
A Wes Darling Sailing Mystery/Thriller

Wes Darling is back in Stranded Naked Blues, the third Wes Darling Sailing Mystery/Thriller. Wes is searching for fun and possibly a little companionship when he joins hundreds of other boaters at the annual Stranded Naked Cheeseburger Beach Party on Fiddle Cay in the Bahamas. It's all about good conversation, free food, and free drinks. The last thing Wes expects is to be drugged and to have his boat torn apart while he's out cold.

Wes's search for answers to why he was singled out by the beautiful woman in a skimpy bikini forces him to turn to his friend, Elvis, the phobic psychic. Wes figures good psychics are almost impossible to find, but Elvis steers Wes toward the answers. If only Elvis could have foreseen the trail of dangerous women, dead bodies, and buried treasure that would leave Wes stranded alone on a deserted island during a hurricane. When Wes realizes that not only might he lose his boat, but also his life, he sets out to find shelter with only one thought in mind, survival.

A hard boiled sailing thriller set amongst the islands and teal blue waters of the Bahamas.

Enjoyable, fun reading

You don't have to be a sailor to enjoy this book or the 3 book series but it is clear the author is one. These are light, fun books to read when you want something to entertain you. A bit cheeky and sometimes predictable the characters are still animated and believable enough, in that detective story way. I found this fun to read while on vacation.

Warm reading for winter nights

There is a wonderful thing about reading a book that is set in the Florida Keys, especially when you live in New England. This mystery set of three books is full of twists & turns and crazy characters. Thanks to the author for a great escape!

Outstanding Adventure

In bed at night, I always read a few chapters of one of several books I have going before going to sleep. Since meeting Me. Darling the other books have been neglected. The adventures are always fresh and keep me eager for more.

Non Stop adventure

Enjoyed this tale more than the other Wes Darling books. Lots of twists and turns and an interesting ending that satisfied my curiosity but didn’t wrap everything up completely. Looking forward to the next story.

Short

Good for a while but no real story then poof it was over. I was disappointed! Way too short, sorry.

Amusing casual read. Enjoyed it because it was local story in Abaco

Mike has a nice writing style. Not overly descriptive or oratory. He gets the plot across in the fewest words necessary. This was an interesting caper and I enjoyed the lacation and characters.

Fast read with good plot

As others have said, rather an abrupt ending to a fast read. It I thought the epilogue wrapped it up well enough. I enjoyed the story line again but I think he could have fleshed out the story and characters more.

Who doesn't like a treasure hunt!

This is the first book I have read from this author, and I was pleasantly surprised. I feel in love with the main characters and their storyline. I would recommend this book to everyone.

I finished reading “Stranded Naked Blues: A Wes Darling Sailing Mystery” by Mike Jastrzebski...This was a fast reading mystery romp through the Bahamas looking for treasure with some quirky characters. I enjoyed this book primarily because of the sailboat aspects, the primary character lives on an Island 36, and the fact that the story took place in the Abaco’s which I am very familiar with. I would read another book in the series.
