Trevor Bradshaw is the most annoying man I've ever met. He's arrogant, demanding, and unyielding. Has serious control issues, no sense of humor, and zero patience.

It's a mistake I won't be making again. I have more important things to focus on than what he hides beneath a bespoke suit and a frown. Things like caring for my sister. But Trevor doesn't seem to like knowing I'm on my own. It bothers him in a way I don't expect. No one has ever cared about me or my struggles, so when he starts doing things that are a little… questionable, I don't mind it as much as I should. Apparently stalking is my love language.

But it's the way he treats my sister that makes it impossible to stand my ground. The two of them are thick as thieves from day one. BFFs, complete with matching bracelets and inside jokes.

Now he's sleeping on my couch and cooking in my kitchen. Mowing my grass and helping with laundry. Invading my home, my life…And my bed.

Which might not be such a bad thing since someone else is lurking in the shadows. Someone who will do anything to get what they want.

These two cannot be in the same room without clashing, and I was here for every single bit of their banter. You know that playground rule—the meaner he is to you, the more he likes you? Yep. That is Trevor and Maren! 😂

Trevor has been hurt before and has convinced himself he isn't capable of a relationship. But then one night with Maren changes EVERYTHING. Suddenly, he can't stop thinking about her.

And when your boss starts sleeping in his car outside your house to keep an eye on you… well, that's either major red flag or seriously swoon-worthy protection. 😂❤️

I LOVED these two together. Maren gives Trevor just as much attitude as he gives her, and they are so perfectly matched. What I really loved was that they understood they both had responsibilities outside their relationship. They didn't expect to spend every waking minute together—they understood what mattered to each other and figured out how to make it work. ❤️

And then there is Zara. 🥹❤️

That little five-year-old stole my heart! Watching Trevor with her was absolutely precious. He gave that little girl everything he had and did everything he could to make her life happier and easier. Their relationship was one of my favorite parts of the book.

And can we talk about the Bradshaw family?! 🥰 Once you're accepted into this family, YOU ARE FAMILY. PERIOD. They drop everything for each other, show up when it matters, and will move mountains for the people they love. That loyalty is everything.

The mystery surrounding their aunt's death and the car accident continues to unfold, and I am officially HOOKED. 👀 I need answers! Why is this family being hunted? How is everything connected to her death? And what is going to happen next?!

🎧 Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais were fantastic narrators. They are two of my favorites, and Samantha's little-girl voice for Zara was SO GOOD! 🥹

I really loved listening to this book! Which is amazing considering, I stumbled into this series in book 4, knew I was absolutely missing a bunch of back story and that I was in the middle of mysterious subplot. That didn’t seem to matter with banter this fantastic and brilliant performances by the narrators.
Marin and Trevor are both work obsessed and grumpy. He is one of the billionaire brothers that owns a huge security firm, believing that it will all crumble if he isn’t available 24/7 and sacrifices anything else in his life for the company. She is driven to give her 5 year old sister with physical difficulties everything that Marin never had growing up, both of them having been abandoned by the same drug addicted mother. Then a round of hate sex turns into something of an obsession of Trevors and Marin surprises herself by the relief she feels to finally have someone watching out for her.
These two are so much fun to watch fight. Then it is equally fun to watch all their walls crumble as they come together. Marin’s sister Zara is a great character, precocious and sweet and proof that the woman raising her is a very good person under the layer of snark she hides behind. Trevor’s huge, over involved family is a joy to be around. I even enjoyed the mystery subplot, despite feeling like I walked in 2/3 of the way into a story.
The absolutely phenomenal Duet narration by Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais takes good writing and just makes it shine. The huge amount of characters they need to embody between all of Trevor’s brothers and their wives is quite a task, but they manage to keep the characters all distinct. Brentmoor’s Marin is hilariously prickly (her drunken emails being a favorite scene) but has such a sweet side for her sister. And I must say, she does one of the best kid voices I’ve heard with Zara. Crais morphs ridged, harsh Trevor into a man unhinged with his obsession for the woman he falls for and the child he is instantly protective of. Their chemistry and delivery of their banter is perfection.
I honestly went back to the first book and started this series from the beginning the moment I finished Unleashed because I want to be all caught up by the time the final book is released.

Traumatized, Not Helpless — And Thank Fuck for That

Unleashed is another one of those books that reminded me exactly what I want from a romance.

The FMC has been through some serious shit. She had a traumatic childhood, she carries that trauma with her, and it has obviously affected who she is. But here’s the important part: she is still fucking capable.

She’s strong. She’s surviving. She has a personality beyond what happened to her. The author doesn’t turn trauma into an excuse to make her helpless, childish, or incapable of functioning until a man comes along to save her.

And then we get the MMC.

Is the man a little unhinged? Absolutely.

Is he a stalker? Technically…yes. 😂

But apparently I have discovered that I am completely fine with stalking when it comes with excellent customer service.

Because this man is obsessed with her, and his obsession manifests as wanting to protect her, care for her, and make her life better. He’s possessive without making me wonder why the hell she would want him. He’s a caregiver while still respecting the fact that she’s capable of taking care of herself.

That’s my shit.

I don’t want an asshole MMC treating the FMC terribly for 80% of the book and then getting forgiven because ✨trauma✨. I want the slightly crazy man whose crazy is basically:

“I am obsessed with this woman, and apparently taking care of her is now my full-time occupation.”

YES. GIVE ME THAT.

The characters also felt like actual adults. Nobody was ridiculously helpless. Nobody needed to lose 50 IQ points to move the plot forward. And most importantly for me, the FMC never felt like a third wheel in her own damn romance.

She is the woman he wants. Period.

No wondering whether she’s second choice. No competing for the MMC’s attention. No relationship happening around her while she’s apparently supposed to be grateful she was invited.

And thank God, no bitch-man bullshit. Nothing kills attraction faster for me than an MMC I’m supposed to find sexy behaving like a whiny, immature asshole.

Give me a strong FMC who has survived some shit, give me a competent man who becomes absolutely fucking obsessed with her, throw in some caregiving and just the right amount of “Sir, perhaps we should discuss boundaries” stalking…

Apparently that’s my comfort read. 😂

Unleashed understood the assignment

(Duet Narration Audiobook) Maren is taking care of her younger sister and trying to keep her head above water. She clashes with one of the bosses at her work, Trevor, but there is attraction there as well. Trevor has been burned in the past and feels he's incapable of being in a relationship. They can't deny the draw towards each other, and danger brings them together.

This was a good book and I enjoyed it. I haven't read the previous books in the series and do feel like I was missing some information as there is an overarching storyline going through them. I was able to follow along well enough though. This book does not end of a cliffhanger for Maren and Trevor, but the main plot is not resolved yet.

I really liked Trevor and Maren together; they were well matched. Both had other things that were important in their lives and understood those responsibilities would take up some of their time. Trevor's relationship with Maren's younger sister Zara was so sweet! He went all in right at the start and I think that really impressed Maren. I appreciated Trevor's brother opening his eyes to the fact that he did love Maren and had already been acting on it when Trevor thought he wasn't going to be able to do so.

Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais did an amazing job with the narration and they are two of my favorite narrators. Samantha's little girl's voice was so good! I want thank Hambright PR and Janice Whiteaker for the copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to leave a review.

I loved the immersive read and I was able to finish this one in a few hours!! I was hooked from the beginning!! I’m really liking Janice’s writing style and it has all the tropes I love!

After Untamed I really wanted to know where Trevor and Maren’s story would lead especially after Ruth found them in an uncompromising position 😉

Zara stole my heart!! Zara is Maren’s sister that she’s raised since birth and was born with cerebral palsy, but both Maren and Zara didn’t let that get in the way!

The way Trevor cared for Zara and made changes to his ‘I’m strictly about work’ life, swoon!! He really stepped up even though he was a little obsessed in his ways to keep Maren and Zara safe

As Janice mentioned, the ending was a little rushed to give way to Walker’s story.. but I was hoping for a little more alone time between Trevor and Maren

Was such a good audiobook! The duet reading really kept me engaged! This was one of the only audiobooks that wasnt a biography that I was able to finish! Was definitely a good story.
