So. I was hoping for something like H/D "Turn", but this just wasn't for me. I can totally see why people like this and it's not a bad story. But Stiles and Derek both felt really ooc (where's my spazzy, awkward-flaily word vomiting Stiles? Or broody-awkward, traumatised Derek?) and this Derek's POV just didn't resonate with me. Måste erkänna att skummade igenom mycket av detta. Gillade inte ens barnen, omg. Och kände inte av romantisk spänning mellan Stiles och Derek heller.

Boy, did I lose interest fast in this. Started out ok but petered out.
- too much story telling and not enough dialogue;
- did not care for the fact Derek often referred to Stiles as "his boy" despite the fact they were married for several years and with children; had a much too sexual connotation;
- it was only in the last chapter that we get any semblance of explanation as to how Derek ended up in the alternate universe;
- quick change in topic; one paragraph Stiles and Derek are tucking the children in for bed, the next line they're smack dab in the middle of sex; whiplash much?
- there were several instances where someone else' point of view was told through Derek's persona;
- plenty of grammatical errors;
- I'm guessing the reader automatically had to assume Derek was sad and brooding by nature and then overjoyed at arriving in this alternate universe where he had his whole family. Surprising how his only problems were figuring out where anyone lived, whereas no one noticed he was missing vital memories from his life.

Sorry, it rubbed me the wrong way from early on so I couldn't really get into it. I do appreciate the intricate family ties and time spent to develop the relationships within.

Perfect Sterek. I love how Derek just went with it. One of my favorite Christmas movies is Family Man and this reminded me of all the reason I liked it.

Re-Read

Looks like I didn't review this the first time I read it.

I bet I can guess why.

That end.

Just no and really, I hate that I feel that way.

It wasn't real. None of it was really. That doesn't change the fact that I feel like that end just didn't live up to any of the fantasy.

Yes, I wanted the real Stiles and the real Derek but I feel like I didn't get to really see that.

The rest of it, all 200+ pages until that end, lovely.

I remember reading this and it was very visual and cute and basically Derek's ideal world. I love alternative universes like this and I've read this more than once. I wasn't sure how it would conclude but I really liked the ending too.

I KNEW it... I just knew it and figured why am I reading this????

Why? Cus W.T.F.! Derek is going through all this and... he ends up back in his own universe eventually.. like 6mos.. so wtf was the point?!?!?!? Oh he got to finally experience sex but it isn't really with the Stiles he fell in love with but another version. The simple fact that his Stiles figures out how to get him back and basically that all happened for naught pissed me off. Side Benny? That he and HIS Stiles get it together but his Stiles is constantly compensating for what he thinks Derek wants and experienced in other universe.

2.5 cus I feel like I wasted my time...
