La Guía bíblica para la liberación

Rate this book

This book is not for everyone. If you are predisposed to dislike Randy Clark you will most likely not like this book, and the opposite is true as well.
While I think the phrase "Biblical Guidebook" is probably too strong of a statement, I didn't think it was wrong in it's approach. I would say that instead of "Biblical" it is more anecdotal in nature with some scripture references. I also don't think that one could read this and feel prepared for deliverance but I do think that it is a first step towards that.

Just finished this one this week. It is amazing the things that give the enemy a foothold. Not only in our lives, but the lives of others. Even if you do not see yourself in active deliverance ministry, it is good to have this understanding.

A good book with a broad context of the situations you can get in while ministering deliverance. Especially when you see a link to freemasonry. Applying biblical deliverance with care and precision.

Best balanced view of the spiritual war I have read

If you are a Bible believing Christian, read this book. The ramifications are both frightening and yet encouraging, all of it necessary. As the spiritual situation in the US, Canada, and UK (and everywhere else, I write to the countries whose language I know), the issues addressed in this book will come front and center, and are in our faces. If you've ever wondered just what is happening when you watch the news, or the insanity on social media, television, and the like, this book explains it best. In the last 50-60 years our world has spent enormous sums of money and time trying to fix itself apart from the only True God mentioned in the Bible; its obvious it has failed, not coming close to fixing anything. This book is a excellent first step to explaining why, and what the Bible has to say about this.

Great introduction of the topic. Factual. I do wish they had listed more biblical scripture examples. Doesn’t dive deep but that’s what I was looking for. Did answer some of the questions I had going into it. Also has me asking more questions. But there are plenty of recommended books. Sometimes I felt it was stretching, but then later in the book they circled back and those complaints were then not complaints.

This title of this book implies that this book is a “biblical” guide. That is a major stretch. The majority of the Bible verses used are taken completely out of context. The book focuses on experience over scripture.

Not to mention the writing is lacking. It’s messy, difficult to follow, doesn’t always back points, contradicts statements, and fails on a regular basis to site sources.

I will not be recommending this book to anyone.

VERRRY skeptical diving into this (on the recommendation of a mentor in ministry) but so glad that I did. Not in any way “woo-woo”. Very practical and scriptural. I especially was moved by the emphasis on human dignity and prioritizing and protecting the person at hand. Grateful to have read and will re-visit through my life.

A great book

This book is very well written and easy to read. . It gives the background to deliverance and then gives practical guidance about how to do it. The book gives lots of examples of healing and deliverance which is great. Altogether a great read.

I was actually pleasantly surprised. This was recommended to me...and I expected it to be "out there", but the author seems to allow for natural and physical causes for issues and actually seems to downplay the idea of demons being responsible for everything.

very Good book

Very good book. I recommend if you’re starting in this ministry. I am in the way to learn how to help people and this book gave me a complete framework even not deeply but helpful about deliverance and inner healing.

Outstanding and eye opening. If you don’t believe demons are real, wake up. Randy gives many first hand testimonies of dealing with demons and ministering to the demonized.

Dr. Clark covers all the bases in this fairly small book. It is the best overview of deliverance I have read. As always, Clark is levelheaded and careful in a field with some extreme material.

Book Review: The Biblical Guidebook to Deliverance by Randy Clark

book-review-the-biblical-guidebook-to-deliverance-by-randy-clark

I found this book to be comprehensive in its scope of subtopics included under the main topic of deliverance. There were good summaries of each area or point included, including excellent real life examples from the author’s own life and ministry and examples from other Christian minister’s lives.

Some of the topics discussed were, what deliverance is from a biblical theology standpoint, history of deliverance in the church, who the devil is, signs of demonization, inner healing issues related to deliverance, the connection to the occult, the connection to freemasonry (and renouncing prayers for each level), and guidelines on how to minister deliverance. Each area had good explanations but also each area could have been ( and has been) expanded into whole volumes of books. Mr. Clark did recommend a few books for further study in the beginning of this book.

I especially liked Mr. Clark’s style of writing that was so genuine and authentic. I could really relate to some of his points and they would make me laugh out loud, not out of disrespect but out of understanding. I also especially liked all of the real life examples from his own life. This helped to make, The Biblical Guidebook to Deliverance, a book of experience and wisdom and not just a book of theories.

Notable quotes:

In Greek the same word is used for all three categories, but in English we try to use several words: possessed, oppressed, obsessed…John Wimber believed that it is better to use one word, demonized, with the understanding that it can mean from mild to severe. [page 50]

You may also see sudden drowsiness, facial contortions, screaming, a rigid body, a lack of eye contact, or eyes that roll around, especially rolling back so you can only see the whites of the eyes, and changing voice. Remember, demons do not always manifest, and physical manifestations such as these do not always indicate the presence of demons. Each instance needs to be investigated and evaluated to determine the root cause. The Holy Spirit is always available to guide us with discernment. [page 61-62] [I especially like the way this author does not make sweeping blanket statements but leaves things up for the Holy Spirit to determine.]

One of our goals in deliverance ministry is to rob the demonic of every opportunity to humiliate. If the begin to speak, we command them to be silent…We never allow the demonic to be in control during deliverance. [page 93]

Since Mr. Clark frequently writes and speaks in a way that relates his experiences to how he started off in a place of unbelief and then moved to a place of belief in an area, readers who are unsure as to the reality of demons or unsure as to the need of deliverance or are unsure as to how to go about deliverance at all, will appreciate the story part of how the author got from belief to unbelief in this area.

This book contains excellent introductions into the theology of deliverance and the history of deliverance and other such areas so if you need a good overview or are wondering how a former Baptist preacher has come to believe in deliverance as a charismatic person now, then this book is for you. If you are interested in a detailed book on a particular area of deliverance then you need to seek out other books that are more focused in their coverage.

I received this book as a first read. It was a quick read. It's an interesting look at demons and demonic possession. I like the discussion of what was written in The Bible about Satan vs the devil and the comparison of Old Testament and New Testament. It's also nice that it discussed shamans, witchcraft, folklore, and other religions. There's a bit of a spooky vibe to the book since it talks about exorcisms and demons. The book also provides a nice history lesson looking at the ancients Greeks & Romans and the Reformation and how writings and views about demons and healing changed over time. Clark raises an interesting question about whether believers can be possessed or demonized. The chapter on curses was especially creepy and makes you want to raise your guard against curses, vows, blood pacts, etc. It's straight out of a horror movie. I clearly need to go back and read certain parts of The Bible because I don't remember the parts about omens, sorcery, spells, the occult, or witchcraft at all. Clark glosses quickly over some topics that he should have spent more time on. I would like to see a more in-depth discussion on why he considers reflexology, meditation, and video games pathways that open the door to demons. You always hear about Freemason but no one really knows about them so it was interesting to learn more about their practices. An interesting and dark book.
