His Vicious Siren: Newport Mafia Book One

Rate this book
A ruthless heir. A vicious enforcer. Two mafia families on the brink of war, and the bullet meant to undo them all.

Killian Quinn, heir of Newport’s Irish mafia, learned early in life that Quinns don’t forgive, and they never forget. So when his best friend is murdered, Killian begins the hunt for answers and blood. After a lead ends in a shootout, he finds both in the ER nurse who treats him. A woman who happens to be the most ruthless enforcer in the one family that would dare oppose his: the Araxies.

Sian should have the intel Killian needs for his revenge, but when his usual intimidation tactics fail, and strange fondness makes him unable to torture her, Killian makes a snap decision. He will claim his enemy and he will make her love him. For information, of course—certainly not personal cravings.

With a gun and blackmail, Killian snatches Sian from the streets of Newport, vowing his heart won’t impede his revenge.

Sian Juni doesn’t exist, not anywhere that matters.

But after being kidnapped by her former patient—who is also her boss’s sworn enemy—her anonymous life in the shadows is dismantled. Killian demands information Sian doesn’t have, and counters every threat with tenderness she struggles to defend against. Sian has nothing to offer him—not information, nor her heart.

When their entanglement escalates, pulling the people she loves most into the path of danger, Sian must make a choice. Risk her life—and place in the organization—to help Killian and prove the Araxies’ innocence. Or let the seemingly inevitable war between their families resume, take up arms, and defend her people at the sacrifice of her heart.

★★ HIS VICIOUS SIREN is an adult dark mafia enemies-to-lovers romance perfect for fans of the devastating yearning in A LOVE MOST BRUTAL, the savage loyalty of NERO, and the wicked chemistry of MR AND MRS SMITH. It is the first book in a series of interconnected standalones. ★★

This book pulled me in from the start and did not let me go. I did not want to put it down for anything.

Killian is the heir to the Irish mafia and he’s out for blood when his best friend is murdered.
Sian is a nurse, working at the hospital who stitches Killian up after a mishap during his rampage. At least that’s who she said she was.

This book is everything a mafia story should be! The twists & turns as the story progresses so you really aren’t sure what is coming next. The secrets, the lies and betrayals that just keep coming - and from people you don’t even think they’d be coming from! Not even the MCs of the story! There’s murder & it’s bloody & brutal.

The chemistry from Killian & Sian, let alone the tension from them is intense from the start. Killian will stop at nothing to get what he wants, even when he thinks he’s been lied to. He lets his guard down, even when he knows he shouldn’t & you can just feel the passion and desire he has for Sian through everything.

Sians number one priority is her family and she will protect them at all costs - even if it costs her life. The determination she has, the stoic ability to push everything she feels aside to be the strong one comes across so clear. You can’t help but feel for the girl whose only place in life seems to be the shadows.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and it is said to be book one in a series - I am now anxiously awaiting book 2 because I HAVE to know what happens next and between who.

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and am writing this review voluntarily.

Baby this book had me SCREAMING!!!!!

I finished this book last night and I have so many emotions running through my body that I can't even process them other then the fact that I FREAKING loved this book so darn much!!!
I won't lie when I saw the character art for this book I KNEW I had to read it because I am a lover of interracial romances.

This book was absolutely fierce.
Sian is a woman after my own heart. I love that girl DOWN!! She is all about protecting her family in every possible way. Not matter the cost....even if it is her life. What I thought was a great twist was that her brother, who is her twin, is the Don of the family...on the outside but it is Sian who actually controls everything. She is the true Don of her family but everyone has to believe it is her brother because she is a female and he is the "true heir".

Killian is one crazy obsessed unhinged and unstable guy and I love him so freaking much. He has a jealously streak that is as long as the yellow brick road. The moment he met Sian at the hospital where she tended to him the man was HOOKED!! No was a word he rarely heard and never when it came to a woman he wanted.

You know how they say mafia couples can be toxic but these two brought out the good in each other.
Sian was able to bring out the side of her that no one sees. The softer side that enjoys to hum to herself. The one that cooks soup for her adorable nephew. Doni had to be one of my favorite characters in this book because it brought a bit of innocence to the story that I think was needed. Killian had her seeing a different future for herself. One she didn't think was possible.

With Killian it he was able to open his heart and to actually love someone. Something he never though was possible until he met her. With Sian he was always possessive and obsessed no matter what but he was her safe space and she gave him the ability to feel other emotions and to care.

There are so many great moments in this book and I loved these characters so stinking much! Defiantly one of my top reads of the year.

Oh and the SPICE..................had me dehydrated haha.
I love it when an man roars ;)

🌶️🌶️🌶️.5

Oh my god, this book was so amazing. I genuinely don't think I've read something that had such a pull on me since the Gods & Monsters series. I'm talking late nights, I'm talking bringing the Kindle EVERYWHERE I went. This book had me in a chokehold, and if I'm being honest, it still does. The characters were written BEAUTIFULLY, the plot progressed at such a natural pace, and it just UGH. Chokehold. The spice could definitely be a 4 in some people's opinions, but I'm going to keep it at a solid 3.5 based on my personal scale.

Sian
I LOVED SIAN. Oh my god, it is so refreshing to have a strong FMC where her background actually makes sense. Training since she was young, and being the head of her family (aside from Atlas) when really, it should have been Apollo, was such a lovely backstory, though very simplified on my end. Speaking of Apollo and Sian, I really enjoyed their twin dynamics, and Sian's interactions with Adonis. The way she stood up for herself through the whole book was so engaging. It didn't seem like an all powerful, "I'm tiny but I can still fight anyone I want," sort of cheat, she was written with a genuine backstory and an attitude that I really admired.

Killian
Killian, Killian, Killian. This was the kind of man, that if anyone did most of the things he did to Sian in real life to me, I would lose my mind. In a very, very bad way. However, seeing as Killian is a fictional character, I ATE THAT SHIT UP. He was so perfectly gentlemanly when he wanted to be, which honestly wasn't often, BUT, made me kick my feet every time. I thoroughly enjoyed how Killian was written, especially as Sian made him work for her attention and her love. His turmoil when he thought Sian betrayed him, then as he came to the realization that she in fact did not, was beautiful. Yes, suffer for the things you've done. But also you better get her back. Loved it!

I’m obsessed with His Vicious Siren the way Killian is with Sian. I don’t know if I’ll be able to read another mafia romance without comparing it to this. It was giving April x Andy from Parks and Rec but if Andy was an unhinged horny mafia heir and April was allowed to be the Don we all know she is. 🖤

I mean, the way Killian obsesses and yearns for Sian is unhinged but also adorable - like puppy dog love from a grumpy Doberman. In fact, all of the characters are seemingly normal but actually off their frickin rocker 😂 it’s almost humorous how normal and blasé everyone is about the…unaliving, shootouts, raids, etc.

And Omg… the filthy thoughts + smutty smut were INTENSE. I was not prepared. The MMC is a horny mafia heir who gets off on anything Sian does lmao.

I absolutely loved the way Sian was always elevated and worshipped by him. She is such a baddie and we need more Sian FMCs out there! I mean SHE growled “who did this to you?” And she is a freaking mastermind who is amazing at disassociating.

While I’m certainly not committing the sort of mafia crimes she is, there was a sense of kinship in the way she molds herself to be strong yet flexible enough to be whatever anyone needs of her. She’s ruthless yet soft at the same time - the Perfect blend of savage and vulnerable.

I mean there is so much else to praise about this book - the plot, the pacing, the political intrigue, the whole premise of the mafia heirs/forbidden love and the way the author was able to layer in details, make you care for the characters, keep you guessing, feel intense angst and laughter at the same time - absolutely wonderful!

Would def recommend this to anyone looking for a top-tier mafia romance with stabby and fierce FMC + jelly, he falls first, obsessive MMC.

Thank you so much to the author for the opportunity to read this early!! 🎻♥️

Thankyou to the author for the arc.

His vicious siren is the first, dark mafia standalone romance in the Newport mafia series by Anaïs isaac. Congratulations on the debut author!!!

This book was a good read for me. Although I skipped the intimate scenes, but they were 🔥🔥killian quinn knows what he wants.

The one thing I really loved was sian, she wasn’t a damsel in distress, in fact she was strong, fierce, brave and didn’t give into killian easily. That was refreshing to read about. And i enjoyed her character more than Killian.

I love FMC’s who make the MMC work for it and loved it so much.

The author worked hard on it, I did not want to dnf it because I wanted to know how it ended, it was an okay read for me. Not bad, not good. A moderate read, but the writing showed that the author really gave it her all.

Hope this book finds its readers. Although i skipped some parts, this book was a little not for me. The plot was a bit confusing, but as I kept reading, i did understand some things, but it could be because i’m about to be sick. I’ll come back sometime later, maybe. To re- read this book again.

Thankyou again for choosing me to arc read your debut book.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC of the book.

This was a solid book for the author's debut novel. I've been getting back into mafia romances and I loved how strong Sian is! (Past mafia romances I've read have a weak FMC). Spoiler alert, she's the one running the show and considering the mafia/crime world is male dominated, I thought this was admirable. I also loved that she's half Black. Having either or both of the main characters be BIPOC is an immediate plus for me.

This book is a bit on the longer side (~420 pages). At times it does go by quickly, but other times it does feel a bit long. There were a few plot twists that I didn't see coming. With one I had a hunch that something was off, but I didn't expect the villain.

Though Sian is vicious on the outside, I loved seeing her softer (but still very much protective) side with her scenes with Adonis. I hope to see more of them plus Apollo in book 2.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the rest of the series!

Favorite quote:
“But even when they try to pit us against each other,” she continues, “and say the ugliest things, I need you to tell me the truth, Kill, even when you’re scared. Even when you’re angry. I need to be able to trust you. And I want you to trust me.”

Thank you to the author for an ARC copy 🥰

His Vicious Siren is everything I could have wanted from a mafia romance and I’m so excited for the next book in this interconnected standalone series! Anais Issac has truly blown me away with her debut! Killian Quinn will have your other book boyfriends scrambling because he’s the perfect mix of obsessed and possessive, but also loving and supportive. And Sian Juni, the FMC, had me hooked from the start! I loved reading about this couple and I already miss them! Their dynamic had me unable to put this book down. Sian is a badass FMC but still vulnerable, with a soft side only few can coax out. I loved seeing how Killian was able to climb the high walls she puts up. This couple is perfection 🥰 And the spice was perfect! In my opinion it was just the right amount and very 🥵

I also loved that there was a good amount of plot mixed in with the romance and how these two arcs intertwined. It made for quite a page turning read and had me staying up way past my bedtime to see what happened next.

Highly recommend this if you love a little kidnapping in your dark romance, badass FMCs who are more vicious than the MMC, and a little bit of mystery and intrigue threaded in.

Also I need book 2 immediately 👀

**ARC Review**

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Killian is heir to the Irish mafia, looking for revenge after his best friend is murdered. Sian is the so called nurse who fixes him up after he’s hurt on his quest for revenge. This is book was a wild ride. It has all the things you want in a dark mafia romance. The twists and turns kept me from getting bored, and the secrets, betrayal and disloyalty wasn’t predictable at all. It was well written and enjoyable.

The chemistry between the MMC, Killian and FMC, Sian was instant. Killian will stop at nothing to get what he wants, and what he wants is Sian. You feel every bit of the wanting, passion and desire he has for her. I love Sian. I love seeing a strong FMC whose back story is solid. I liked that she stood up for herself and she did not play when it came to her family. She was a well developed FMC.
I loved all the supporting characters. They all felt necessary and correctly placed.

I’d give it like a 3 on the spice level. Overall it was a good read and I’m looking for to book 2. I need some questions answered.

Oh where to begin? First off, I was very blessed with receiving an advanced readers e-copy of this book. This book completely wrecked me and stole my heart. You have your hook tropes: forced proximity, he falls first, touch her and die, forbidden love. Our MMC Killian is immediately drawn to Tem when he needs to seek medical attention. He cannot stay away, she is drawn to him as well but definitely plays hard to get. I don't want to give too much away as I want you to enjoy it as much as I did but they both teach each other to love, heal, protect and maybe forbidden love doesn't always have to be so forbidden. I was so sad when I finished reading it, I did not want it to end. This is definitely a book that I would love to have as a hard copy. I will recommend this book a million times over. If I could give this book 10 stars I would! Pick it up, read it, you won't be disappointed. Hope you fall in love with "Smoke" and "Siren" as much as I did. I will be doing a more in depth review on our YouTube before the release.

Thank you, Anaïs, for the ARC!!

Here I am 🧍‍♀️ in love with an Irishman (shock 😂) &&& the baddest bitch around! 😈

Had a ball with the mafia antics, enemies to lovers, & our MMC falling first. 🤭 They’re both grumpy & TAPPED, but Sian is a hardbody & Killian is .. down bad. The tension, angst, inevitable devotion … 🫠

There were chapters it was hard to breathe. I squealed, I blushed, i cursed, I was on the brink of rage. But … we made it. Our core group intact. & speaking of— can I say how much I love Mama Quinn, Lore, Polly, Doni & Damian. Like, Wow. We need those around us who are willing to know when to stand up. They drove the story home! 🖤

Anywho— if what I’ve mention is your speed, give it a shot! I loved it. Kill really knows how to talk that talk. 😋

Truly the only thing I feel like I missed out on was a little private music scene. For the mention & cover, I guess I just thought there might’ve been something like that. But I’ve also not read the bonus chapter yet. 🫣

Enjoy!

This was an absolutely amazing book. His vicious sorry is book one in the Newport mafia series. This is a new author to me and I am really really invested now.
What originally drew me to this book was when I originally read the blurb I stopped and had to read it again. There was one part at the very top that made me stop and be like Oh yeah this is what I want to read. It said, "A ruthless heir. A vicious enforcer. Two mafia families on the brink of war, and the bullet meant to undo them all."
That exactly is what sums it up a little bit but let me tell you the constant on the edge of your seat the ups and downs with emotions was amazing I cannot wait for book two of the series.
Now have a new favorite out there that I'm going to read and enjoy.

This book! Great book one for a new series. Sian and Killian’s story was amazing! You get hooked right from the first chapter.
Sian, our FMC, is such a badass with a soft side for those she cares about. Killian immediately falls for her right when he meets her at the ER.

They are from rival mob families and somehow find each other. The spice is SPICY!

This was such a good book. The push and pull between Sian and Killian! The banter, family aspect, the drama, the suspense and the TWO epilogues!

I can wait for the next book in the series.

Thank you so much Anaïs for the ARC!!

If I'm being honest, I'm not usually a mafia romance girly. BUT I had so much fun with this book. Sian is such a great FMC and Killian is freaking obsessed with her as he should be. The story pulled me in right off the bat and took some turns I didn't see coming, which I always appreciate in a romance. The only reason I took off a star is because I didn't love a lot of Killian's *thoughts* about Sian, but that's just a personal preference. I loved the writing otherwise and will definitely continue reading this series as it comes out!

It’s so nice to see a strong fmc who doesn’t conform to the standards that society places. Plus, I do love seeing how the guys respect Sian. Killian is there in the background who supports Sian whenever she needs it, though he knows that she can speak for herself. The story is definitely high stakes with suspense.

Absolutely loved this book!! I couldn't put it down. Grabbed my attention from the get-go. This is definitely a book to read if you're a fan of spicy mafia romance, an obsessive/possessive MMC, chemistry that is undeniable, and a FMC who is not to be messed with, then I highly recommend this book to you.

Anais did an amazing job with this book and I'm hanging to read the rest of the series.

I love a dark mafia romance, and this one didn’t disappoint! Sian is probably the most bad@ss FMC I’ve read in a mafia romance. The juxtaposition between how she is with killian, and how she is with everyone else, really sells their story. A must read for sure!

Strong, emotional, compelling, fierce.

The MCs are passionate in more ways than one. They fight for their families, their lives, and their power.

The writing is powerful and moving, and the characters have depth! Definitely warrants a second read!
