waste of time

I’m genuinely upset I spent $13 on this. The dialogue is so painfully unnatural that it constantly pulled me out of the story. Almost every interaction is reduced to these clipped, one-word exchanges that no actual human being would have unless they were communicating exclusively through a series of grunts. It’s not atmospheric or minimalist it’s just bad writing. I kept waiting for the dialogue to start sounding like people talking, and it never did. $13 I will never see again.

I love supporting debut authors! This was such a pleasant read from start to finish, i don’t usually review new sapphic books but when they are self published and THIS GOOD? I have to. I definitely recommend, this gives tshoeh but with way more spice!

i enjoyed the book but i do have to say it was very rushed. it IS short book but i think the story and characters deserved more time. i would have loved more details and pages to really have the characters and side characters built and feel more real. i also think that the writing was a bit off when it came to conversations, literally just the convos. the author can write!!! i loooove the way they write but is some instances i found that it was the same template for every conversation which made it a bit irritating. also some times i had no idea who was speaking because it was a very back and forth conversation. idk if that even makes sense. loved it but could have been a lot better with more time :)

I was really excited for this read but unfortunately didn’t leave it fully satisfied.

The early chapters held and promised interesting depth and character dynamics. But it ended up falling flat in ways due to timelines and not enough being given through dialogue. In fact the dialogue most of the time felt very stiff and non differentiating, especially when letters or text messages or read, lots of it can cause confusion.

I felt a lot of arcs were rushed as if the idea of this story was all there but the remembrance of having to execute said story wasn’t as every thing is hit so quickly without being earned or explained much. I mean even the ending felt very abrupt.

I really wanted to enjoy this book but it felt quite impossible. Aside from the plot holes and the authors desire to resolve any major conflict in two pages to get back to the characters having sex, the grammatical errors made it physically hard to read. There were missing words, double words, confusing dialogue patterns, missing capital letters, and more. The book itself should have been read through at least two more times before being published. As for the plot; it started strong and quickly resolved any major conflicts; such as one of the women (Lilly) dating someone else, we don't get a conversation, or really anything more than a singular sentence of what Lilly did about it (she did nothing) before jumping back into Viv. Working with Amanda everyday and not saying ANYTHING about not wanting another date was so unrealistic, and this is just one example. Most characters just disappeared once Viv and Lilly kissed. I felt my relationship with Lilly and Viv was not strong enough before they dove back into their relationship for me to ignore the harmful and lack of decisions being made.

it almost feels like it was written by two different people, the first 100 pages were genuinely quite good and then after it becomes a complete mess. the timelines and the characters literally stop making any sense out of nowhere. the build up they do in the first 100 pages becomes essentially useless since the mc doesnt have a redemption arc, they just resolve the conflict without actually resolving anything. i was a bit hopeful at the beginning but its genuinely just bad. dnfed at 60%

I love this book so much, the yearning is incomparable. The characters genuinely do hold this special bond that’s unbreakable. I love all the themes in this book that made me think twice about my life, it was just so beautiful!

I truly don’t think the author read through this book before publishing it. The grammatical and formatting errors are more than enough to take anyone out of this story. The premise isn’t bad, the execution needs work

read in a day

I loved this story. I am a sucker for anything Hollywood. A.V delivered. I found Lilly and Vivian’s journey a true testament to true love. The dialogue between them was so good when they were teenagers and adults. Loved it !!!

many grammar errors, commas' existence disappeared, and some plot holes, but other than that, I really enjoyed the story from its beginning to its ending.
