the way I’m obsessed with Pike at this point??? what IS that man. I’m SO SORRY, but what in the name of fucking PERFECTION??? INCREDIBLE. incredibly, incredibly, incredibly good🫠🫠🫠
it took me a little reboot of the brain to remember what the first book was actually about, but I think Luna did a really good job filling in the blanks with the backstory and little glimpses of the past. (which is also probably just my pea brain because I read way too fucking much and sometimes have absolutely NO idea what I’ve read anymore 🥸)
but the story was FAST PACED and had me fucking HOOKED. I was gasping, clutching my pearls, questioning everything, and even though I saw the twist coming, I also somehow DIDN’T see the twist coming??? like??? HOW??? this was VERY VERY VERY good😭🔥
but even if the story had been absolute shit, I wouldn’t have cared because let’s be SO fucking for real.

The second instalment in the demons we wear series is here and this story follows Pike and Emma. Before diving into this book I would definitely recommend reading Odessa and Saint’s story in the demons they keep as the plot is a continuation from book one.
If you have read book one then you will know that Emma is Saint’s little sister who was taken from him and he has been searching for her ever since. At the end of the demons they keep Emma has been rescued by Pike but she is not reunited with her brother just yet and this story explains why.
The story starts years prior where Pike was under the power of the same organisation which took Emma and for 2 years he was tasked with guarding her, only this turned into Pike protecting her from anything that would deem her harm even if it meant going up against his own family. Emma slipped through Pikes grasp and went missing once again and he was a man on a mission to have the woman who made his heart beat once again back. The one thing you should know about Pike is he definitely struggles with emotions and Emma had his emotions running haywire.
Pike realised that Saint was Emma’s brother and that he was also searching for her, like he was doing now and so he indirectly sent leads and eventually became a part of Saints life. This was how he was on the rescue mission to retrieve Emma, but there is still a bigger enemy at play here. When Emma was taken for a second time she decided to play the organisation and obtain as much information as possible which would become useful to take them down.
I don’t want to give too much away about this story but it has definitely answered questions from book 1 but it has created even further questions that will hopefully be answered in book 3.
Pike is definitely a morally grey MMC, there is nothing he wouldn’t do for the woman he loves and that’s just how I like them.

Oh. My. God. 🔥
Luna Nyx really said “you thought the first book was intense? WELL READ THIS.”
Now I have been the most busiest woman these past few weeks, trying to find the time to pick up Luna’s book and I found the perfect time just to perfectly finish it the day it was released.
I swear this series just keeps getting darker, messier, and more addictive. The tension?? The drama?? The characters making questionable decisions every five minutes?? I was EATING IT UP.
What I love most is that the characters actually feel like they’re changing throughout the story. They’re not just thrown into another romance plot — you can feel all the trauma, obsession, vulnerability and complicated feelings underneath everything, and it makes the relationships so much more interesting.
And the CHEMISTRY??? HELLO??? Some of these scenes had me looking at my invisible camera!🫣
I also loved how the book builds on everything from The Demons They Keep. There are so many moments where you're sitting there thinking, “oh no… this is going to end terribly” and then somehow it gets EVEN WORSE. In the best possible way.
Was everything perfect? No. There were definitely moments where I wanted to shake the characters and scream JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER!!! 😭 and I think some parts could have been paced a little better.
BUT DID I PUT THE BOOK DOWN?
Absolutely not.
CAN WE JUST SPEAK ABOUT PIKE????? Honestly the amount of times i was in AWE. HE IS SO HOT! THE MAN HE ISSSS OUUFF!! The way Luna wrote him made me scream inside every time i came across his parts in the book. Him and Emma, literally chef kiss. CHEF FUCKING KISS!
This is dark romance at its most addictive — complicated characters, messy relationships, tension, and enough drama to keep me turning pages way past the time I should have been asleep.
LUNA NYX YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN MY GIRL!
Would I recommend it? YES.
Especially if you loved The Demons They Keep and want more darkness, more drama, more tension and more of these absolutely unhinged characters. I just love how we also get a good understanding with the small things that happened in book 1 and honestly I can’t believe I have finished this book.

OH MY GOD 😭 I have been WAITING for Emma and Pike’s story and this was absolutely unhinged in the best way.
Pike is genuinely INSANE over this woman. Like sir??? “My little Phoenix”??? The obsession, the possessiveness, the fact that this man has basically built his entire existence around Emma…I ate it UP. Their relationship is so incredibly dark and toxic, but at the same time there were these little moments between them that had me going 🥹 when I definitely should’ve been concerned 😂
But EMMA!!! Watching her slowly start to take back pieces of herself after everything she survived was probably my favorite part. She has been through absolute HELL, and seeing her finally have people around her, a home, a friend, and a family hit me so hard.
AND SAINT AND EMMA REUNITING??? 😭😭😭
Also, can we talk about how much was happening toward the end?! The files, the organization finally coming down, people being rescued, Pike and Saint working together, AND THEN SCARLETT AND VINCENT STILL BEING MISSING??? Excuse me??? Scarlett dragging Hector away covered in blood and Pike casually being like “yeahhhh I think she took Vincent”??? GIRL WHAT.
This book was dark, chaotic, emotional, violent, obsessive, and completely fucked up…which is exactly what I expected from this series. 😂
And that final line about them becoming the demons even darkness fears??? SUCH a good way to end Emma and Pike’s story while still leaving me desperately needing to know WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH SCARLETT AND VINCENT.
I NEED THE NEXT BOOK IMMEDIATELY. 🖤🔥

This book completely wrecked me in the best way. Pike and Emma’s love story was EVERYTHING. The way he searched for her for years, doing whatever it took to find her. I was obsessed. Their connection felt so deep and so real, and the love between them was honestly palpable. You could feel how much they needed each other, even when they couldn’t say it.
And then that plot twist??? I genuinely did not see it coming. I love when a book can completely shift everything you thought you understood and this one absolutely did that. It made me look back at so many things differently.
Pike was completely gone for Emma and I was completely gone for both of them. Their story was dark, emotional, intense, and somehow still so incredibly romantic. I wanted them to have their happily ever after SO badly, and watching Pike refuse to give up on her no matter how long it took had my entire heart. I loved this one.
And then that plot twist??? I genuinely did not see it coming. I love when a book can completely shift everything you thought you understood and this one absolutely did that. It made me look back at so many things differently.

This book was such a page-turner! I loved the writing style just as much as I did in the first book, and I genuinely couldn’t put it down. It was one of those “just one more chapter” books, until I somehow ended up finishing the entire thing in one sitting.
I’m usually not the biggest fan of traumatized female protagonists, but I really loved how it was handled here. Her healing journey was beautifully done and felt very genuine.
And the book boyfriend? Absolutely HOT. He had me giggling and kicking my feet more times than I’d like to admit.
The human trafficking storyline from the first book gets even more interesting here. We get so many more pieces of the puzzle, and it only made me even more invested in the overall story. Now I desperately need the final book because I NEED to know how everything comes together!
Overall, such an addictive and enjoyable read. Definitely a “just one more chapter” book!

You can tell the author's writing has evolved, and the story just flows perfectly.✨This book completely stole my heart. The emotional depth and the connection between Pike and Emma felt so raw and real🐦🔥🔥—I definitely shed a few tears.🥹 The author did an amazing job intertwining their pasts and building up their time together.By the time I reached the beautifully written ending, I was totally hooked. It’s a unique, extraordinary read that truly touched my heart. I highly recommend picking this series up! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Little phoniex aka Emma was just a firey baddie who swore she didnt care for pike but when things went crazy, she was the first to do something about it. The 1st part of the book catches you up from the ending of the 1st book which is nice but I wish I got more of Emma's story since we missed so much of her life. Now let's talk about Pike; he was delusional, unhinged, possessive and I loved it!! I loved how he just decided she was his. I really liked their story and I cant wait to continue the series

3.5 stars! This book was so good but I just can’t rate it higher than Saint and Odessas book, they hold a special place in my heart.
I love both Pika and Emma and omg o wasn’t expecting that amount of trauma what Emma went through 😢
The enemies to lovers, captive, everything was great and the actual love story was so cute too!
I read this book so quickly and literally couldn’t put it down it’s so addictive so if you want a quick read that will have you hooked the whole time then this is perfect!
I can’t wait for the third book in the series which I’m hoping is Vincent’s 👀

I had high expectations after how much I loved book one, and book 2 did not disappoint! It’s dark, spicy and so easy to read. You’ll be grabbed from the very first page!
I won’t lie, I didn’t love Pike as much as Saint (but honestly that was very hard to achieve so I’m not surprised 🤣) however I loved Emma. She went through so much and she’s such a strong FMC, even when she’s struggling.
Luna always writes trauma responses so perfectly but I love that Emma’s is different than Odessa’s. It acknowledges how everyone copes with trauma differently and I love that so so much. Luna’s books always heal a little bit more of me.
Overall I highly recommend this series! Be warned you will most definitely cry so get the tissues ready but it has a HEA and its so so worth the tears 🖤

Pike and Emma’s story was insane and I ended up loving pike more than saint 😅 he’s psychotic but he’s also a tortured soul who’s insanely possessive of Emma.
I did shed a few tears for pike and his need to be loved but Emma’s story was heartbreaking as well, she’s been through so much and became numb to it all which comes out in her vulnerable flashbacks of the past and leave her frozen in time like the struggles Odessa had but a different set of circumstances.
The way the flashbacks and trauma responses are written are so to the T of the struggle and done in such a perfect way even if it is heartbreaking.
Can’t wait to see the next bit of the story 👀

I got to read this book early on because I was chosen as ARC and I will try to not spoil anything but it jumps right in to the story. The obsession and the Stockholm syndrome is evident, but man is it hot!
To get to know Emma and what goes though her mind and how she handles everyday things, considering what she's been though, not surprisingly well all the times!
There are definitely some spicy scenes and a lot of violence and yes, I like that.
The cliffhanger of this book... I did not see it coming and since we already know there is a third one coming I'm gonna keep myself updated for sure

I had incredibly high hopes for this book, as the first one was so good - and this definitely did not disappoint!
This series is such an easy read, it completely hooks you to the point you don't want/can't put the book down!
I knew I was going to love Pike from the moment we met him in the first book! He truly is the definition of obsessed/possessed when it comes to his Little Phoenix! This book explores how there relationship develops now that he has her back in this arms - they have a some what complicated back story 🤣.
This book is full of lies, twists and turns so definitely keeps you on your feet.
I am honestly so excited to get my hands on the next book and see what happens with Vincent and Scarlet!!!

This book is full of lies, twists and turns so definitely keeps you on your feet.
I am honestly so excited to get my hands on the next book and see what happens with Vincent and Scarlet!!!

Second book in the series: The Demons we wear. This book follows Pike and Emma's story.
In this book we learn about Pikes horrific childhood, his link to Emma and why he was helping to find her (Book 1). Although all of his reasoning is a little f-d up, you can't help but feel for him. He's extremely possessive, would burn the world for her and endures hell to keep her safe. Extreme emotions, beautifully written.
Be warned your heart will break for Emma so much. She's feisty, broken and lost. He is the only thing she has and as much as she fights him she can't escape the hold he had on her.
I've loved this series so far and can wait for book 3! Highly recommend BUT check triggers as the detail for some scenes can be quite intense.

Seriously Luna, what have you laced your ink with? Book One was a very easy 5 star and so is this one
I need everyone to pick lunas books up. Absolutely unreal. Luna has taken me on a full journey with her books. Its not often an author can do that.
The whole dynamics of these characters is so so good. Each one of them has their own distinct personality which really pulls ypu in to the story.
Pike and emma are absolutely everything. He never stopped looking for her 🥹 Emma is such a strong fmc and I'm here for the baddie fmcs.
Action packed, suspense, trauma, love. Luna certainly knows how to keep a reader hooked.
Now give me book 3 like, yesterday!

I really enjoyed this one! I did prefer the first book, but this one was still such an enjoyable read.
The FMC was strong and sassy, and the book had everything I enjoy in a dark romance — strong characters, a morally grey MMC, and that he would burn the world for her and more kind of devotion. What’s not to enjoy?

I loved this book!
I thought I knew what was going to be happening in this book, after reading the first, I was completely wrong. I felt like I was turned upside down at the beginning of this book - and I loved it!
I loved the mmc! He was slightly unhinged in the best possible way!
