I'll be completely honest: I chose this book because of the cover. I had high expectations for the reading experience, and unfortunately, it was nothing like what I expected.
The story is very rushed and, in my opinion, fails in several aspects, one of which is the lack of information. The beginning is quite confusing and starts by mentioning a bargain that, as far as I understood, is never explained at any point in the story, leaving many events vague.
The book had all the potential to be very good, but I felt a major lack of development. The courts are barely explored, and the story takes place, for the most part, in a single location, causing many of the fantasy elements to be underutilized.
Another point that disappointed me was the fact that the book is described as a romantasy, yet there is practically no romance. Besides some interactions, there is only one kiss, which was far from what I expected to find within the story's premise according to what is cited in the synopsis.
I couldn't connect with almost anything during the reading. The feeling I had was that something was always missing, perhaps because the book has only 113 pages. Some information is presented, but it never receives an explanation or development, seeming to have been inserted into the story without a clear purpose.
Being very honest, part of my rating was influenced by the cover. I cannot deny that it is beautiful and was exactly what made me want to read the book. However, all the expectations I built because of it were being destroyed throughout the reading.
I believe that if the story had more pages and better development, my rating could have been different. The universe had potential, mainly due to the premise involving courts and faeries, but, for me, the author failed to explore these elements in the way I expected.
