Richard C Hale has worn many hats in his lifetime including Greens Keeper, Bartender, Musician, Respiratory Therapist, and Veteran Air Traffic Controller. You can usually find him controlling Air Traffic over the skies of the Southeastern U.S. where he lives with his wife and children.
The first book was very good. Fast paced and good story. Second seemed a little contrived. Story line not quite believable but still held your interest. The third seemed to have been written as a romance novel with the story line secondary. A lot of violence, etc that didn't add much to the story. The whole thing just didn't hold together for me. Not really interested in following the series any further. Except for the first book, I would have rated 1 star.
Being the daughter of a 40 year law enforcement officer and a mother who taught me the love of reading has certainly blessed me. When I read a book I can actually see the characters and surroundings in my mind. Sometimes this is curse because they make a movie and things don't match my vision. Oh am now a new fan of author Richard C Hale! Artistic license aside his Jaxon Jennings series is full of non stop action, drama, intrigue, love and hate. The action never stops and the story line keeps you turning the pages. I enjoyed all 3 books in this series and look forward to reading more from this author. I would recommend this series to all that love action, cops and robbers, drama. Shoot, it's a darn good read for most anybody. Great descriptions and characters that feel like real people. You just can't beat a great read!
I could only read the first story. What a waste of time. The author must be a teenager who has a warped mind.
I have read thousands of books , but this one has to be one of the worst ones. Full of killings of people and animals. What a horrible book to write. The story was so bad I could not believe any editor would let it be printed. No idea of police procedure. What did the author think he was writing. He needs to read good books written by brilliant author's who know what writing a book is all about. I think I will ask for my money back.
All three books were excellent. I purchased the trilogy thinking I'd read one then come back later for number two, and so on.... wrong. I read all three as a single book, couldn't put it down. Mr. Hale makes the hero, Jaxon Jennings, an everyday person who approaches his job as a "calling". A tough guy with a soft spot. I do think there were a couple spots in the third novel that the author used some filler to lengthen the book (particularly a couple of sex scenes and some of the banter) but it didn"t detract from the overall book. Overall, an enjoyably trilogy from a very good writer.
At a time where cops are killing anyone they think they can get away with seeing it in black and white knowing this is our law enforcement today makes it hard to give you a 5 star. Now should you decide some poetic justice would be in line that I can get behind!
This book took longer to read than War and Peace. This author has taught me that not all books are entertaining. To much needless sex for my taste. I'm sure his writing is for many people. Just not me.
As a woman, I can only respond as a woman. But Ray gets no, absolutely zero respect from me. Madly in love with Michele, he bottoms out and becomes a drunk and she leaves him. Making it very clear that she wants him to sober up and get his act together. As ANY woman would. He finally starts to get it together and calls her, telling her he needs her. And yet, just a couple days later he’s in the sack with another woman. The DECENT thing to do would be to end it with Michele before starting in with the new chick. But no, he “deserves” to be happy. So when Michele comes to him, he tells her to f*** off. A very disappointing character development. I hope he’s out of the story.
The main character in this series was a police officer but had a difficult time following the rules, especially after the murder of his son. He became a private investigator as the only rules he had to follow were his own.
There are numerous twists and turns in the series but they are not hard to follow.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first three of this series. Although each one is slightly longer than I would prefer; Richard Hale kept me coming back to read more. Good character developments and strong story lines in each of the three made reading this series quite enjoyable. Looking forward to reading more by Hale in the future.
If you like fast moving action, these three books have it in spades! The author is a master writer of detective/investigator stories, making sure that it’s hard to put them down until finished. It seems like Jaxson, Victoria, Ray and Laurelyn find themselves in sticky situations no matter which way they turn! Enjoy!!
Great reading! Well developed characters with lots of twists and turns in each book that keeps you reading even when your eyes want to close. Another fabulous author to read
I started to feel fatigued midway through book 2 as I don't usually read books from the same author successively. However, Book 3 had a different feel to it, and I reengaged and found that I really enjoyed them and will definitely read the next in the series after a break.
Wow, I definitely have found a new author!!! Love this series! I have already ordered books 4 & 5. Love Jaxon Jennings, his partners, determination, & justice!!!
I enjoyed this set very much. Jaxon's intensity comes through very well, but you also see a more personal side. The plots are plausible, except perhaps for getting away without being charged for some of their actions.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
I gave it 5 stars because it was non stop action from start to finish !! Loved every minute of it ! I would recommend this to anyone who likes a page Turner
I loved these books they grab you from page 1 and keep hold until the end. Richard really made me think outside the box as from reading the sysnopsis they didn't sound like the kind of books I would enjoy but decided to give it a chance and I am SO glad I did.
Frozen Past: I had reservations about reading this mainly because the description made it sound a bit like young adult genre but it was free and had good reviews so I had nothing to lose.
I was gripped from the start. The initial characters are teenagers (definitely not of the famous five variety) with Jaxon being introduced later. The story works very well the teenagers are an important component of the book they bring so much to the story, young love and the IT guru aspect that could only work with young adults who were brought up with technology.
It is definitely an adult thriller the killer being a very believable, definitely evil person. The book as a whole is so believable it is something you would easily find on the news very realistic characters and not all surviving the ordeal.
Cache 72: 2nd book in the Jaxon series absolutely loving these books. Richard is really making me think outside the box and read books that I might otherwise pass by due to the description. This book appears to be about Geo Caching, a game I am not interested in but I was determined to read this book. I was gripped from the very start with the suspense building throughout the book with many twists and turns. Again realistic characters well developed and a believable plot. Brilliant.
Father Figure:This book gives the reader more insight into the main characters as their personalities develop and is every bit as gripping as the previous 2 books.
These books are impossible to put down. Richard is a talented author who rights top quality books. There are a must read for anyone who likes thrillers. Can't wait for the next book.
