This was a great book and I had a great time reading it. Piper flips homes for a living, so she buys a castle, sight unseen and is thinking she can flip it for a quick profit. But once she gets to Scotland, she finds it’s still occupied. By the owner. Tristan, a vampire. But she doesn’t know that. The banter between them was great. I loved how quickly she developed an attraction towards him. And he was so fun and quirky. And when these two got together. Talk about spicy.
Once I started reading this, I just couldn’t put it down. It was an awesome story and I absolutely loved it. Can’t wait for the next one.

I absolutely was sucked into the book from the beginning and couldn't put it down. Loved seeing my MacLeod ancestors surname in this book. Scotland, Castles and Vampires...say no more, I am hooked. I will definitely be diving into Jade Christy's other series.

Captivating
A castle for sale in an online auction, a feisty and smart property developer, and a 600-year-old vampire.
I was immediately drawn into the story from the first line, “I’ve made exactly three terrible financial decisions in my life.”. This statement from Piper teased me into wanting to know if she was going tom make more terrible decisions. So I kept turning pages.
The writing is captivating and entertaining from beginning to end. Everything flowed and every word had a purpose. Christy has built a very intriguing world, a world that drew me in. I want to live in that world.
Piper and Tristan are a perfect pair. One witty, smart and determined and one stoic, mysterious and protective. They play well off each other and have clever and funny banter throughout the story. I am so involved in their story and can’t wait to get to the next book in the series. And the supportive characters – Mrs. MacLeod (a perfect mother or grandmother figure), Duncan (the well-meaning and devil’s advocate), and Murphy (a great companion). There are other characters that were introduced minimally but enough that I want to know more about them, especially the antagonists.
This is the first book I read from Christy, and I look forward to more of her writing. I highly recommend this book and it is starting out to be a wonderful series.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

This novel combines romance, vampires, property ownership, and conflict between Houses.
Piper Monroe buys Glenhaven Castle and discovers that Tristan Sinclair occupies the property and claims a connection to it.
Their dispute over ownership develops into a relationship while Piper learns Glenhaven carries a seat and vote under the Accord.
The exchanges between Piper and Tristan give the story much of its appeal.
The castle, its history, and the Houses provide the setting for the romance and the conflict.
The move from the ownership dispute to the struggle over the Ninth Seat gives the second part of the book more plot than the opening sections establish.
The politics between the Houses could use more explanation, particularly as Piper learns about the Accord, the Council, and the consequences of owning Glenhaven.
The book contains descriptions of sex, sexual acts, and intimacy, so readers should expect sexual content.
I recommend it to readers of romance with vampires, property disputes, forced proximity, humour, sex, and conflicts over power.
Readers interested in the relationship between Piper and Tristan will find that relationship at the centre of the book.

✅️ Sexy Vampires.
✅️ Witty intelligent banter.
✅️ Strong, stubborn FMC
✅️ Charming Scotland Backdrop
It took me a little bit to get into the world building, but I'm SO glad I kept reading!
What I initially mistook as a slow start was fantastic (and enjoyable!!) background and character building that made the cliffhanger ending that much more captivating.
So don't mind me, running to immediately pick up the next book in this series. 😍 I can't wait to see what happens next!
Side note: I especially love that this series starter doesn't include an annoyingly whiny FMC, excessive truama dumping or miscommunication as the entire plot. Thank you Jade Christy! ❤️

This is a charming start to a series about an independent American woman who buys and restores properties — and unexpectedly finds herself sharing her newly purchased Scottish castle with a charismatic 600‑year‑old vampire. Before she knows it, she’s pulled straight into the world of Scottish vampire politics. The story has a mysterious plot, witty banter, and a sweet romance woven. It’s a light, engaging read that sets up the series nicely.

Ok this book absolutely sucked me in! I loved it and I savored it, if that makes sense. I loved Piper’s boldness, she’s very independent and strong witted. But Tristan… this man is so elegant… like vintage wine and so refined. Yes I went there lol. And he’s Scottish?! Not your typical blood thirsty cruel 600 year old vampire who can’t keep his hands to himself…no! This being is seriously to die for and he cooks! lol I’m looking forward to to the next book because that cliffhanger…

I ate this up! Thank you Jade Christy for the advanced copy to review.
The back & forth between the FMC & MMC was addicting. I love the old, Scottish vibes and lingo. I felt as if I was there in Scotland without too much extra words & descriptions. And the spice… 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ .
I cannot wait to continue this series. Be careful what you purchase on online auctions!
Favorite minor character goes to Murphy! 🐶 ❤️

I enjoyed the POV’s of the FMC and MMC. There is a good mixture of mystery, humor, angst, and spice. Sometimes stories drag on in world building. This book was easy and a joy to read.
Ready for the next one!

The storyline is incredibly good. I had to finish it before I could go to bed. There's so much underhanded deceitfulness. What happens to Piper is just amazing and we still don't understand it. So I gotta read the next book!!

I loved this book and was literally sucked in and it wouldn’t let go. It was well written with interesting characters. Loved the banter. It is a well paced fun and spicy read. Obviously as its book 1 in series expect the cliffhanger ending. Luckily I have book 2 waiting to jump straight into.
