4.5 A Sleepless Night Reading So Good Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
I don't know why I think I need to sleep. I must have decided it wasn't necessary especially when I could spend those hours with Marcus in my bed instead...

Oh, I mean reading about him.

Yes, Me and Marcus alone...

Well, again not entirely alone as there was Amy Knight. I forgive you Marcus for becoming obsessed with her.
After all, she was amazing at that wedding of your sister's and she got you all hot and bothered and then delivered like a boy's wet dream. Yes, you were caught with your dick in your hand waiting for the promised part two, never to happen. So I could understand your need to get "resolution" or whatever you want to call getting off again on your terms...

Surprise surprise, there is the mystery of need of yours standing in your office, no less. Who would have thought doing your sister-in-law a favor, would have Ms. Knight right there. It seems your wedding-come-to-sexual-nirvana has moved to Chicago and you can arrange to have her meet with you over and over again under the premise of having your website revamped by her.

Oh, wait, Ms. Knight is fighting her urges and saying no...
Well, that won't do...Not.At.All.

No, Marcus will figure out Amy's reasons for always running away from him because he knows she wants him as much as he wants her, and both of them can't for the life of them understand why there is this undeniable connection.

This book works so well because it lived up to its prequel, Runaway. There we had the taste of things to come with Marcus and Amy. The very quick connection they both had with each other was unlike any they had had with others before them...leading them both to obsess and ponder about this “random” hook up.

He was feeling like he needed to resolve the experience as he didn't feel done, finished. She couldn't stop remembering all the surprising sparks and tingles he gave her. She thought with her French "friends with benefits" lover she had had great sex but this man from her brother's wedding...he was on a whole other level.

Of course, there is much more to this than just the sexual attraction and need for each other. These people relate and share themselves on a deeper plane than they have with others in the past. Marcus sees through all the posturing of Amy. He wants to understand why she is a runner, what drives her to flee when a man starts to want more of her than her amazing body...

Amy runs because she will not be tied down. She has seen what giving total love can do to a woman; what the object of this love can do to a spirit, how the object of love can betray, ignore; leaving the woman to relinquish and sacrifice her wants for his without knowing what was happening behind her back. Amy saw this first hand; her father taught her well. She would never allow herself to be in that position. She needed to Fly.

Marcus brings other things to the table in this relationship. He has heart, mind, grace, and is also... Sex on a Stick. He has made his own path with a very successful law practice and is looking to remain at the top of his game. He keeps a low profile; doesn't go for the red carpet events or having his face plastered all over with pictures of women he has dated. The only publicity he is willing to have is business based. He has the team to support his cases, the admiration of most of his peers, and those who don't, are jealous and backstabbers. Women love him and when he's loving them, they are always taken care of first.

So here we are with these amazingly interesting characters...hmmm, what would add to this.

Why not high society Chicago; snobs, lineage, and peer stank for the Queen Bee. Why not have Amy grow up with these people and have to deal with a past history so painful she would only return home to be there for her Mother. A mother, I might add, who is a fantastic character...one who handles every encounter and scene perfectly. A woman who is the epitome of class, distinction, and grace. She represented what all the other snobs making Amy's life uncomfortable were wishing they were.

The plot is a weave of all the elements I mentioned plus more. With the Tia Louise touch, we all enjoy. It had a fast-paced dialogue. It was warm, sexual, and loving. It had pathos and revelations for the characters. It worked on so many levels.

It made me miss sleep...but at least I had Marcus in my bed....well, sort of...

This is a winner and we get to have more yummy stories of these characters. Another book is coming this Fall with Stuart & Mariska and Amy's mom and her long lost love.

I will be ready... I will get my rest and prepare for another sleepless night.

Well, Since writing this review, Ms. Louise has kept me busy. Here is the entire series and it is so worth your time, enjoy!

I was first introduced to Marcus & Amy in Runaway, a prequel to One to Chase that is free. http://www.amazon.com/Runaway-One-Cha... In Runaway they are both attending a friends wedding in Wilmington when they cross paths. They are instantly attracted to each other, and have a passionate hot as hell hookup that leaves Marcus wanting more, and Amy doing what she does best, running.

Amy Knight is a 25 yr. old smart, beautiful woman who has just moved back from Paris to Chicago to look after her mother. Her career is in public relations/marketing, & she is looking for a new job. She has a meeting with a family friend who is one of the top lawyers in Chicago. She was told he has a lot of contacts in the city & could maybe help jump start her career. This man is the brother of her sister-in-law Elaine. She doesn't know his name, & thinks they've never met, so it comes as a shocker when she enters the office to find Marcus Merritt aka "The Man in Wilmington" that she hasn't seen in over two weeks staring back at her. It also doesn't help that she keeps remembering how delicious he looks without his clothes on! ;))

 photo 2d6284de-3fa1-4a39-85cd-b9459c06504e_zpsxffrpvge.jpg

Marcus can't believe the woman he hasn't been able to quit thinking about is standing right in front of him, & they both live in Chicago. He hires her to do some work for his firm while they try to find her a job. Really he just wants to be close to her. They both frequent all of Chicago's hot spots & run in similar social circles. They continue to run into each other, and can't be around one another without thinking of their one night they shared. They clearly want each other desperately, but Amy has been burned in the past, & doesn't do relationships, emotions, or feelings. At the same time Marcus has always enjoyed his freedom & being a bachelor. When they realize they just can't resist each other, they agree to have a no strings attached physical arrangement.

-His eyes travel the length of my body.

-I want his hands to follow his eyes, touching me in all the places that crave him.

 photo 6fd02877-4135-48cd-af92-cd56a775ace5_zpsgc8okapa.jpg

Over time their feelings start to grow, and Amy tries to push Marcus away cause she's scared, but Marcus wants more, and will do whatever it takes. Never being one to chase, he goes after her hard when he realizes his heart is all in. OMG I just LOVED this sexy, persistent man! The sex was off the charts hot, & just delicious!!! Without a doubt, Marcus is my favorite of all Tia's yummy men, & that's saying a lot, cause I LOVE me some Stuart! So excited for more Stuart & Mariska up next in One to Take! Can't wait!!! :D

4.25 “A little business. A little pleasure.” stars
“Baby, we’ve been flying since Day One.”

Marcus is said to be one of Chicago's most eligible bachelor and the best legal shark in the business. His skills are unparalleled, his needs easily sated; nothing shook him, nothing made him want more...until his little runaway comes walking through his door.
I called her a baby. She called me an old man—it still makes me chuckle. She challenged me to a drinking contest then she rocked me like a hurricane.

Amy is a smart and ambitious woman, too independent for her own good and runs from anything that resembles a relationship. Back from Paris to take care of her mother, she hopes to pick up where she left off, but it seems she's picked up more than she bargained for...everything in her screams run, but his green eyes dare her to stay.
“You don’t do relationships, and I don’t chase.” My voice is flat. “We do fuck, however. Many times and very well. Shockingly well.”

Living in the limelight of Chicago society, it's a political game, one they both play so well. Being the man she needs him to be even without her knowing, he gives her the sense of security and freedom with a chance to be cared for without feeling suffocated.
He wants more, but I don’t know how to do more. I don’t understand more. Tell him if I need anything? I need everything. I need guarantees, an ironclad warranty, and that’s what terrifies me. Nobody can give that.

But a favor owed could cost him everything he wants and more.

One to Chase is the much anticipated story of Marcus and Amy. We get our first taste of them during One to Save, have been teased by the freebie novella Runaway and I have to say One to Chase definitely did not disappoint.

Marcus is deliciously sexy, protective and confident; he lets her fly but lets her know that he is right there to catch her if she falls. Amy is an independent woman who has trouble with commitment and has no belief in men what so ever, all they are to her is her next orgasm. But Marcus sees right through her sex kitten routine and wants to get the girl inside her to believe in him. I didn't see her as weak, I saw her as a woman who would only submit to a man worthy enough to respect her as an equal.

I'd describe this standalone dual POV story as sexually sweet; one that made me swoon and want to hit something. The added social drama brought something different to the table and made me thankful I don't have to live in that world. Recommended for sure, and like all her other books she gives us a little tease as to which direction the series will go to next, can't wait!

Women don't run from me. Not when I want to catch them. She projects a hotshot image in her power suit and heels, but one thing I know about runaways. They're afraid.

It seems that Tia Louise just keeps getting better and better. There's one thing I'm guaranteed when I pick up one of her books, and that's the fact that I'm going to be getting one hot alpha hero. Whether a marine, a cowboy, an underground fighter, she never fails to deliver and now she can add one sexy lawyer under her belt. As much as I enjoyed the previous books in this series, One To Chase is probably my favorite to date. It's also the one book in the series that I would say truly may be enjoyed as a standalone as unlike the other books it doesn't have additional POVs from previous characters. The focus is central on the main couple. Though having said all that, this series is definitely one that you would enjoy more reading in order.

Amy and Marcus first met in the end of One to Save where they shared one sizzling anonymous hookup, not knowing who the other is. Both thinking they're indulging in a one night stand, neither of them expect that they have some very strong connections. Marcus Merritt is Elaine's brother and Elaine is married to Patrick, who is also Amy's sister. Still with me? Good.

I was wrong. You're not wicked. You're dangerous."

Amy grew up in Chicago among the elite, but her life has been in Paris for the past few years. She never wanted to be back to Chicago or the memory it brings; but when the man she's involved with in Paris tells her he wants more, she does what she does best and she runs. Coming back to Chicago to care for her mother, Amy doesn't expect to run straight into one of the most unforgettable hookups of her life...or to realize that he's actually more than that.
I don't beg, Amy." I don't mean to growl, but it's time to put it on the line. "I don't chase. I don't even really see the same women more than a few times. But I'm asking you to do this.

Marcus Merritt is one of the most eligible bachelors of Chicago. A successful lawyer, he's not hurting for female attention. Yet something about the unattainable and gorgeous blonde draws him in and he knows that he'll stop at nothing to get her.

Amy was probably one of my favorite heroines in the series so far. She's strong witted and sassy. Plus it's always great to read about a heroine that really makes a man work for it. The chemistry between her and Marcus is undeniable, and it's not very long before they fall into bed together. But Amy fights the emotional connection between them with everything she's got. It's clear that she has some demons in her past and Marcus is determined to unearth every single one of them in order to have her.

One to Chase was incredibly sexy, quick paced and entertaining read. It had a little bit of everything. I loved that this book unlike the others was more focused on the couple. There were no additional POVs, which for me at least, took away from the main story in the past. This focuses only on the couple and truly allows the reader to form a connection to both the characters. I absolutely loved Marcus and Amy together. They were this perfect match of push and pull while burning up the sheets together. I'd highly recommend reading the free prequel before this book, Runaway to really understand the history between these two.
Baby, we've been flying since Day One."

This was another fantastic addition to an addicting series that only continues to get better and better seven books in. If sexy, dirty talking lawyers and the strong witted, commitment-phoebic heroines that bring them to their knees is your thing, then this is a book you simply need to read.

5 Run with me Stars

This is my first Tia Louise book. I’ve seen her books loads of times and I’ve wanted to pick them up forever. One to Chase is a standalone and is part of the One to Hold series. You can read the mini-prequel, Runaway. It’s free and it explains how Amy and Marcus meet. It doesn’t give anything away. I read Runaway after I read One to Chase (but I’m odd like that. I like to read novellas after I finish the main book).

Amy had some stuff that’s happened to her and because of that she left Chicago. She travels and finds herself in Paris. Amy and Marcus meet and have a short fling. Amy doesn’t want any commitment. She doesn’t mind sleeping with the same guy over again, but she does do relationships.

Amy leaves Marcus and they don’t see each other until she shows up back in Chicago. Marcus is a ladies man. He doesn’t do relationships either, but there’s something about Amy he can’t forget. He’s a hot-shot lawyer and he’s interested in Amy.

First off, I love me a good lawyer book. Gah, it’s something about men in suits that just gets my insides all squishy. ALSO, Marcus wears glasses!!! Yes. Right? Sigh. Sorry. I had to calm my panties down. I am crazy for Marcus. The story starts off with a bang, like really, it starts off with Marcus getting a little something something from a lady in the bathroom! You know you like it too.

Marcus is a successful lawyer and he loves his job. When he’s asked to help Amy out, he doesn’t realize it’s the same girl he met in Paris. Amy wants a job and she meets up with Marcus so she can help him with marketing. She doesn’t know it’s the same person she met in Paris too. Oh it’s a meet-cute I promise.

Amy is very firm in her situation. She doesn’t want any hanky panky with Marcus. She wants a professional relationship. Marcus wants his cake and eat it too. He works with Amy, but also pursues her because he just can’t help himself and I love it. I love it when the Hero chases after the Heroine (it’s really how all books should be, but that’s just me).

I don’t do what he wants. I don’t allow anyone to control me. I don’t let anyone take away my freedom.

There are some issues Amy needs to work out and it’s the reason why she is so guarded. I liked that there was a touch of tension because of this, but the best part of the book was the chemistry between Marcus and Amy. The steam was amazing and I couldn’t put the book down.

One to Chase kind of reminds me of Kendall Ryan books. In the sense, it’s short, sassy, steamy and very sexy. And I’m a mega Kendall Ryan fan. I can’t believe it took me so long to read one of Tia’s books. I’m slapping myself for being so silly. I’m starting this series now and guess what?! It’s available in audio, well don’t mind if I do.

4.5 Angel Kissed Stars

**ARC generously provided by author in exchange for honest review**

This is book 7 in Tia Louise's One to Hold series and it was amazing! This author made me a believer in her talent the day Derek and Melissa hit my e-reader. I have followed each character and their journey throughout this series. Some tales were angsty, some suspenseful, others more thoughtful. Not one of them were lacking in the intimacy department as each one was beyond scorching hot!

In my opinion there is NO HOTTER than Marcus Merritt and Amy Knight! WOW, I did not see that coming after a chance meeting at a wedding. There was a physical attraction...a one time hookup, but then nothing but the memory of that heat to keep each warm. You see, Amy is a runner. She craves freedom and needs to be able to fly away whenever life holds her down. Marcus is the best of the best in Chicago's high society and he does not need to chase anything, mostly certainly not a woman!

When Amy Knight comes home to the windy city her quest for the new puts her in no other than her Wilmingtom man's office... BOOM...the touches, the feels, the pleasure all comes rushing back! This time Marcus wont let go. His "goddess" will not slip away so easily. He knows just how to play this game of cat and mouse...

 photo PhotoGrid_1434628012318_zpssoytqhaf.jpg

In this game of want and need...it seems as if Amy Knight has her own rules...

 photo PhotoGrid_1434628253800_zpsbhpj3ypa.jpg

What a perfectly named book as Marcus and Amy's story was nothing but passionate CHASE. Marcus is entrenched in the upper crust of Chicago. As a successful and hard working attorney, he is a total catch for those climbing the ladder. Amy rejects this very class as her high society past is nothing but a sweet reminder of the lost girl she was. Her past life continues to promote a signal that feeds her need to be away and to live on her own terms. She is struggling with the slow dull of that signal as Marcus's touch and words begin to break down her walls. Does she really want to finally stay in one place? With one person? No man has ever consumed her body and her mind the way Marcus does.

Mr. Merritt has come to play this game for keeps...can he keep the elusive Amy at bay? Are his arms strong enough to anchor her to him? Is desire, passion, lust and want enough?

 photo PhotoGrid_1434632063956_zpsakprr02n.jpg

Does it seem as if the "Chase" was never really a running away, but perhaps a running toward more?

 photo PhotoGrid_1434632333997_zpsr0jbnqkv.jpg

Kudos Tia Louise for keeping up with the high standard she set with One to Hold. Each story has built up relationships and set foundations for more. Marcus and Amy were just secondry characters at one time, but they are MY current owners of the One to Hold series. The older, wiser Marcus is perfection from his look to his swagger. He is dominant when he wants and sweet when he feels. There is no escaping his presence. My only rant, be it small, is the running of Amy...her shut down toward marcus kept that 1/2 star from rising up. I did feel her struggle but at the same time I had to check myself from cussing her out one too many times! It is a good thing that she gives as good as she gets... be it on a desk, a boat or in the middle of gala, she knows how to handle a hot man!!!

5+++ ‘WE ONLY FLY TOGETHER’ STARS

I am so over the moon over this book.

This is the first book I’ve read by Tia Louise and I have to admit I’m completely amazed!! Ms. Louise’s writing is so descriptive and so intense…what a thrill ride! WOW I have been missing out, this book had everything I love sex, angst, hot alpha male and smart sassy heroine.

Her characters were well rounded and developed. No immature nonsense and over the top drama. I loved the dual POVs, I found the back story intriguing and the plot interesting. What a gem this book is!

Where to start…. Of course Marcus! I utterly fell in love with him, instantly. He’s smart, handsome, patient, true gentleman … Holy Smoking Hot! He’s a lawyer, he loves his job…but he also loves women. No emotional attachments, just a free spirit.

Amy is a strong female character, she’s independent, smart, ambitious, elegant and classy. Amy loves men and she loves sex. And, there is one thing she’s good at: running. Running away from boyfriends and all the expectations that come with the title. Also, she’s 25 years old, while Marcus is 10 years older than her. The story line of the much older man and younger woman was done extremely well!!

“I want…comfortable bachelorhood. Freedom to whatever I want, whether it’s bed the newest heiress or spend the weekend in my office working on the latest case to excite me”. - Marcus

The one night stand they shared seemed an easy escape for both of them, but it eventually turns upside down their lives and their emotions. The chemistry between them is smoldering hot and when fate re-unites them, they are unable to control their attraction to each other. But, now all the rules of the game change.

 photo aa614390b491918048b91bfda5f9ae65_zpsc0v3vw0c.gif

“Next thing I know, I’m challenging Marcus Merritt to a drinking contest. I was in full Amy Knight-mode: Sex kitten, claws out. I had no idea who he was, and I didn’t care. All that mattered was he was gorgeous. Perfect body – for someone ten years older than me – all lined and tanned. I would’ve assumed he was gay, but he F*ed me will all the aggression of the straightest alpha I’ve ever known.” – Amy.

Marcus doesn’t chase women but Amy is special. Soon he understands her worth and he accepts the challenge. He doesn’t lack the confidence or the skill to show her how much he wants her. Amy is hard to get but Marcus relentlessly pursues her. They know they are sexually compatible and what unfolds since that magic first night is hilarious, frustrating, sweating, crying, panty-melting journey to HEA! These two set the pages on fire!!

Action, hot alpha man, smart sexy woman, action, topnotch eroticism! What more can you ask for? The author has done a fabulous job at creating a fresh plot line that keeps you on your toes. A+++ Tia.

3 - Uncertainty is essential. Stars.

I am a big fan of Tia Louise and the One to Hold series. I have read and loved every book prior to One to Chase, and as such it is with real regret that I can't offer a higher rating for this installment.

"A little business. A little pleasure."

Marcus and Amy’s story was an easy enough book to read, but for me it lacked the depth of background and emotional connection that I have always felt with the previous books and characters. Derek, Patrick, Stuart and Slayde all had very definitive and solid backgrounds and strong personalities, and as a reader you get to know more about them as their books/ the series progresses. I felt a bit empty with Marcus, yes he has a strong personality, but apart from being Elaine’s brother you learn little more about him for most of this book.

Having read the introductory novella Runaway prior to this, I was expecting plenty of sexy times, and Tia never disappoints in that area, but I wanted the story to build with it. You can sense that both of them have issues that they are dealing with in regards to familial past relationships, but it took a little too long for everything to be laid out on the table for me.

Everything in me craves her.

Amy is very much a runner, having returned to Chicago from Paris, under the excuse of spending more time with her mother, she’s actually hot footed it home, due to things getting a little too serious with her last lover. Relationships aren’t for her, emotional connections are to be avoided, and she’s almost a ‘one and done’ type of girl…

Until Marcus that is, running is still on the table, but he in his own way gives chase, on more than one occasion. Again, I lacked the understanding of her characters motivation until much later on in the book, and it all felt a little cliché for me, when you take into account the previous women from the series, their strengths, weaknesses and backstories, Amy needed more of all those attributes, it was a bit challenging to feel any real connection between her and Marcus, over and above the sex initially because of it.

I really struggled with the whole plot for the first 70%, it felt very repetitive and reminded me a little of a day time soap opera with the whole Paige Goldfarb/Karen Philpot saga, not to mention the whole charade that Marcus allowed himself to get dragged into… the bitching and back-stabbing.

I suppose, I have extremely high expectations of the author, and although I wasn’t really sure what to expect with this one, being that it was two virtually unknown characters joining a series that has pretty much been based around and established through one specific group up until now, this change in direction didn’t quite work for me. As I said it was enjoyable enough, but I was expecting more.

Tia Louise is one of my favourite authors, this series on the whole is still one of my go-to reads. The woman made apparent random toilet hook-ups sexy, for goodness sake. I know this is just a blip and I also know I will be on the minority with my feelings on Marcus and Amy’s beginnings.

I’m not ready to give up on her.

Stuart and Mariska are up next, and that makes me happy, I fell hard for the guy in One to Leave, so catching up with them both a little more In-depth in One to Take due for release later on this year, gives me happy goose bumps!

Where do I even begin to express how much I love and adore Tia Louise? So last year, I decided to read one of her books... then BAM.. I was addicted. I wanted more and couldn't get enough of her books. Yes, I was one of those readers who would stalk her upcoming new releases. And how could I not since she introduced me to Derek, Patrick, Slayde, Stuart, and now my new obsession Marcus.

#OneToChase

For all you romance book junkies, I will just have to tell you that Tia Louise hit the nail with this book. One to Chase had everything that I craved in a romance book. This book was utterly addicting. Ms. Louise was able to weave the elements of love, friendship, family, hope, understanding, new beginnings, and of course lots of hot sexy steamy moments that will be sure to heat up those e-readers.

One wild hot sexy night with Amy Knight, was all it took for Marcus Merritt wanting more. But the only problem, was that he didn't even know her name and she left that night without even a goodbye... So call it fate or what not, but Amy and Marcus unbeknownst them gets reunited when Amy's sister-in-law ask her brother, who happens to be Marcus to help Amy get a job. Marcus doesn't chase women but something about Amy makes him want to chase her and so begins the one hot, sexy, and sensual chase..

Amy Knight doesn't do relationships and commitments. She doesn't believe in love; she runs. So what happens Marcus decides that he will take the bait and chase her? Well as it turns out, the chase was something that Amy needed because slowly Marcus was able to tear down the walls surrounding her heart. When Amy senses her walls are slowing crumbling, will she decide to stay or will she do what she always does and run?

#OneToChase1

When you stop running, you give the right things a chance to catch you. And for Amy, she finally found that person in Marcus Merritt. He was everything that she needed to slowly mend the pieces of her heart. He was able to show her true love, passion, and understanding. So yes, Marcus Merritt has earned a spot on my list of book boyfriends. Sigh!!! The chemistry between Marcus and Amy was so tangible that their love spoke volumes and was more than just physical.

One to Chase was simply beautiful. It was sexy, steamy, touching and yet had emotional undertones that explores the depths of love. Marcus and Amy's story was so much more. It showcased that best kind of love are the ones that are unexpected. For Amy, she wasn't looking for love. It came to her just at the right time in her life. Life takes you to unexpected places. And love brings you HOME. And for Amy Knight, her home was with her sexy lawyer, Marcus Merritt. So if you are looking for a book that will have steal your hearts and makes you believe in love, then look no further than One to Chase.

4.5 Stars!!

WOW!! What an explosive opening!! Marcus Merritt – another totally swoony book boyfriend from Tia Louise!! ONE TO CHASE is a standalone; however, I highly recommend reading the other books in this series so that you can meet the other characters and fall in love with each and every one.

Marcus and Amy Knight are both independent to the extreme. Amy is running from her past and Marcus, well, he just has zero interest in any kind of lasting or deep relationship. This stunning lawyer is sex on a stick and make no mistake, this book is PASSIONATE, fast-paced and totally hot. Amy is back in Chicago after an ill-fated relationship in Paris and this woman is smart, driven and stunning. Tia Louise writes completely believable characters, sympathetic and yet very real at the same time.

Marcus cannot stop thinking about Amy, and the title, One to Chase, is very much the story of this book. The playboy might have finally met his equal, in and out of the bedroom.

"Everything in me craves her."

These two have hooked up once before in a previous book and they had an amazingly hot encounter. The sparks are still there. There are some other mean-girl characters here that threaten Marcus and Amy’s HEA and I loved how these characters played into the story and at least one of them got what was coming to her in the end.

Tia Louise is my go-to author for classically hot contemporary romance stories that are modern, sexy, real and very, very readable. Her characters are memorable, passionate, caring and smart. Give this series a try! You won’t be disappointed.

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Are you ready to experience spontaneous combustion? Ah yes – better have those fire extinguishers beside you because you are in for a one, hot, sexy and rollercoaster ride.

Tia Louise had always that capacity to make her readers swoon with delight and pant until they ran out of breathe. One thing is for sure though, she will never leave you unsatisfied.

These two have some serious chemistry in One To Save, and I was just too excited that I finally had the privilege to read their story before it even hit the shelves. Their chemistry didn’t falter, instead it went off the charts the more they paths crossed.

But what happens when a confusing girl like Amy Knight who is fond of running suddenly found some permanent place in your brain and keeps on running around it? Definitely a problem. Can he make her stay?

I love Marcus Merritt – besides being an alpha male who knows which buttons to push, he has a big heart for his family and not only that – he doesn’t force anyone. No matter how he wants it, he might try, but he knows when to pause, take a step back and reassess. I think it what made me like him even more. He respects decisions, even if it’s not in his favor. He doesn’t chase anyone, most especially women – but with this one, he might learn how.

Amy Knight is stubborn, and she knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. She was back in Chicago for her mother and meeting one of the top lawyers should be enough to boost her career to the place she once thought she would never go back to. But the past was still haunting her, not to mention old enemies who seemed to have some ideas on how to make her life somewhat difficult.

But she still have her old friend, some surprising allies, and of course her knight and shining armor who never fails to rescue her. Will this be enough to make her stop running away?

Like the rest of her One To Hold Series, I enjoyed reading One To Chase, I couldn’t keep the blush off my cheeks, aircondition on please, because I am sure that the temperature just went a little high for a while. It’s a wild ride for this one and our characters indeed gave one heck of a chase, nevertheless, it was all worth it in the end.

One to Chase, book #7 in the One to Hold series is all about chase. One important tip for those who are about to read this book: it is a standalone, however you will miss much not reading previous parts. I've been with this series from the very beginning and it is a pleasure to watch how the characters develop.

Marcus Merritt and Amy Knight, these two are quite the pair. Both stubborn and independent. They share a colorful past. One encounter in particular, which was the start of their affair, though at the time they both decided to never lay eyes on each other.

Amy much so than Marcus, seeing as he couldn't get her out of his mind.

After rather unexpected return to Chicago, Amy strives to find her way back into good graces of Chicago's creme de la creme. With a little push from her relatives she agrees to look for help from a family lawyer/ friend. As it turns out, the lawyer is Marcus himself.

They both discover the connection is still there.

It develops from here in a series of hot encounters and some name calling.

My take of One to Chase?
Starting from the minuses, unfortunately, I couldn't connect with the characters and could not put my finger on what was actually happening at times.

Amy was all over the place and Marcus was basically a jerk at times, I did
not like him that much. It's a pity, 'cause I bet he was a hottie.

He had his moments but overall I wasn't impressed.
It was quite snobby and it took me one third of the story to stop thinking high school immature.
The positive side? I guess I don't really have to mention it was hot. Their interactions were chaotic and simmering with sexual tension. These made for quite an enthusiastic response from me. *wink* Also, the general idea for this series, 'alpha males to rescue', is what keeps me going and coming back for more. It wasn't my favorite book, this place still belongs to book #1, but it was a great addition to this series.

One to Chase brings new characters to our group of loved One to Hold characters.

This is part of her ONE TO HOLD series but can easily be read as a stand-alone. I LOVE everything about this series. The characters are strong and sassy and the storylines are fun and super sexy! If you've met any of these characters or if this is your introduction, you don't want to miss Marcus and Amy! Perfect beach read!

One To Chase (One to Hold Book 7) by Tia Louise
Can Stand Alone easily. Erotic Romance.
One to Chase is the first book from Tia Louise that I have read. I rarely read books in a series out of order, but I was assured that this is a true standalone, in fact, Tia Louise said she was thinking of making it a spin-off. I did, however just find out that there was a free 50 page prequel called Runaway that I wish I read first.
"I called her a baby. She called me an old man—it still makes me chuckle. She challenged me to a drinking contest then she rocked me like a hurricane."

Runaway is about hot shot Lawyer Marcus Merritt, hooking up at an out of town wedding with Amy Knight, who is just moving back to Chicago after a few years in Paris. One to Chase takes place two weeks later. Amy had disappeared that night after the wedding, and Marcus can't get her out of his mind. The book begins with Marcus getting a BJ in the bathroom by stripper turned society girl, Paige Goldfarb. But he is thinking about the mysterious Amy. He is also talking to the reader, telling us he's not a bad guy, he doesn't normally get BJs in bathrooms. I loved this! I love when that third wall is broken down.

When Amy's POV came, I had a bit of a rough time. Despite the narrator doing a lot of other popular books, her voice was a bit like nails on a chalkboard to me, especially when she was vocalizing other characters besides Amy. It honestly bugged me so much. I think because of that, I might not have focused as much on her parts as I would have liked to.

OK, back to the story. Amy is back in town from Paris to take care of her mother and looking for work. A family member recommends her visiting Marcus, a local attorney, who has a ton of connections in Chicago society. Imagine both of their surprise when they realize they had just had a passionate encounter two weeks before. One of the most passionate either has ever had.

Marcus is one of the most eligible bachelors in Chicago. He can have anyone, but he wants Amy. Amy doesn't need a man in her life, and beyond hookups has no plan to ever have a permanent one.
"Women don't need men. And I will not be held hostage the way my gorgeous mother was for years. Her dreams and desires taking a back seat to his."

Amy is 25, and Marcus is 10 years older. I love this. There is something hot about an older, experienced man who knows what he is doing. (Maybe that's why I fell for Mr. Ana when I was 19 and he was 27). But Marcus doesn't ever need to chase a girl.
"You don't do relationships, and I don't chase."
"We do fuck, however. Many times and very well. Shockingly well."

But the book lived up to it's name, because Marcus did chase. But will he chase enough to bring down her walls?
"Everything in me craves her."

Likes:

•He broke down the 3rd wall between narrator and reader.
•Yum, Marcus Merritt. I love a sexy lawyer in a suit and glasses.
•Marcus was dominant in the courtroom and in bed.
•He is a dirty talker.
•Great banter.
•Absolutely stood alone, I didn't feel like I missed anything, though I think I would have liked to read the free Runaway first.
Totally delicious hot sex.

Dislikes:

•OMG, I hated the high nasal voice of the female narrator at first. I warmed up a bit, but when she did other characters it was like nails on a chalkboard.
•The whole society girl drama between Paige and Karen...too much snooty society crap, made even worse by the nasally voice the narrator uses for them, (screech!)

The Down & Dirty:
I think I would have enjoyed One to Chase more if I read it instead of listened to the audiobook. Despite the popular narrator, her voice really, really got on my nerves, especially when vocalizing the obnoxious society women. Otherwise, I enjoyed the sexy story, and I enjoyed the male narrator. I loved the dirty talking, persistent, dominant alpha attorney, and I loved how he worked on getting through to her and making them "fly" together. I could have done without the society drama, but I think that is partially because of how it was vocalized. While I can usually separate the story from the audiobook, I had a hard time here, because it really affected my focus on the story. But I can tell I really like Tia's writing, and will gladly read other books from her.

Rating: 3.75 stars, 4.75 Heat, 3.5 Narration (He was a 5, she was a 2)

Enjoyable! Marcus was a dream!! The way Marcus kept fighting for Amy was just so sweet. The story flowed well, except for few parts that felt rushed at the end. Overall a really good and steamy story. 3.75 stars!!!

I really, really loved this story. The title "One to Chase" is very apt to the story. Neither Amy or Marcus will ever chase someone and they do not do relationships. But since the wedding where they met sparks flew and each of their memories stay deep in their minds. They meet again and the spark is still there but neither will admit it. Will one give in or is their past too hard to put aside?

Amy and Marcus. Their hook-up was detailed in the short freebie "Runaway"

Spoiler for you girls who don't like it when characters hook up with other people after they've met. This book opens with Marcus getting a blowjob in the men's room of a fancy restaurant and it's not our heroine. This is happening a few weeks after his hookup with Amy and neither one of them expects to see each other again but that's a big no way for some readers.

I'm really torn. The first 2/3 of this book I thought the main characters were a couple of pretty unlikable pretentious people. Both all about no commitment and leaving heartbreak in their wake. They did both have some redeeming qualities. Amy was good to her mother but she called her by her first name instead of "mom" it really bugged me. The first half was running between a 1 - 2 star read for me. There are so many examples I could give but it all comes down to the same thing. Unlikable characters who improve a little but not enough to turn it around.

I just expected better from a Tia Louise novel. I'm really a fan of her books so it pains me not to love this. None of her characters in previous books were perfect and some of them did some dumbass things but the relationships always grew in romance and tenderness even when they had to fight their way back to each other.

While Amy continually holds Marcus at arms-length he stubbornly refuses to see why he's pursuing her while continually asserting he "doesn't chase". Eventually of course they give in to their tender feelings but we're never shown how they arrive there. It was frustrating. Then, Marcus does something as a favor for an acquaintance that could derail the progress he's made with Amy and it barely causes a ripple. Same with the appearance of Amy's former lover.

There is a teaser about the next book being about Stuart and Mariska which I'll happily read. But this one goes on my no re-read shelf.

If you are looking for a romance that will put a huge smile on your face and a shade of pink to your cheeks, ONE TO CHASE by Tia Louise is the one to get! Anyone who has been following Ms. Louise's ONE TO HOLD series will expect something scorchingly sexy and romantic, and to say that ONE TO CHASE did not disappoint would be an understatement. Not only did Marcus and Amy's story turn up the heat, but this blistering HOT contemporary contained so much heart and emotion, that towards the end of the book, my tears won out, and I found myself sobbing like a baby. This incredible romance made me realize how much these characters have become like family to me. Even though Marcus and Amy are fairly new characters in the mix, they still managed to embed themselves in my heart, and I came to care for them, just like Derek and Melissa, Patrick and Elaine, Kenny and Slayde, and finally one of my fave couples Stuart & Mariska.

Two people, stuck in their ways, living life surrounded by people, but who never felt so alone. When they find each other once again, the connection is not lost, but more electric than ever. Together they will fly. Together they will find their ultimate FREEDOM. Tia Louise gives us another gem among a handful of gems in the incredibly sexy ONE TO HOLD series. Romance lovers around the globe...this book, this series will quickly become a new addiction.

Every time Tia Louise releases another book in her fabulous One to Hold series, I can't wait to dive in and see what conflict and angst her newest hero and heroine are going to run into as well as how the chemistry between them plays out on the pages, and Marcus and Amy definitely do not disappoint!

In my opinion, One to Chase is divided into two parts - Amy running and Marcus chasing and then Amy and Marcus trying to find a way to fly together, keeping the freedom Amy desperately craves and giving them a relationship that's worth fighting for.

Amy Knight has always been a "no strings" kind of girl because she refuses to allow someone else to control her or dictate her happiness. The idea of more has never been something she's put any value in because not only is it a foreign concept, but it's one that she's never seen work out. Amy's always ready to move on from a relationship when she feels things are getting too serious, and her ability to do so has never let her down, allowing her to dictate the rules and parameters for anyone she dates.

But the game drastically changes when she meets Marcus Merritt. He has his own set of rules, and he knows just how to get what he wants because not only does he know how to use his argumentative skills as one of the best attorneys in Chicago, but the way he commands a woman's body and ignites it with just his dirty talk allows Marcus to potentially get from Amy what no man has ever had before - her willingness to stay.

Amy Knight is an interesting character, and I love that Tia makes it clear to readers why she is the way she is, but it's also frustrating to witness. From the onset, Amy knows things are different when it comes to Marcus, but regardless of what her heart is telling her, her mind can't erase the past...it can't remove the need to have total control of all of her choices and be claimed by no one but herself, making Marcus work for everything he gets from her regardless of how desperately she wants him.

Marcus Merritt is one hell of a sexy alpha male who dominates the courtroom and the bedroom with his take charge personality. He's intelligent, driven, and hardworking, which is exactly why he's willing to chase Amy despite her runaway philosophy. He knows she's worth it and will stop at nothing to prove to her that he's worth it as well.

I also loved the social status aspect of the story line. It definitely sheds light on the social order of things and what people will go to in order to remain at the top...even if they don't truly deserve to be. Social snobbery in the upper class is always there and at the forefront of this issue are women whose insecurities make them total bitches who will use anyone or anything to have people bow down to them and that is showcased in One to Chase with Amy and a few other supporting characters.

Marcus and Amy's story is a fantastic addition to the One to Hold series. I love that the focus of the text is on the hero/heroine's relationship and the work that needs to be done to keep Amy from running. These two characters are not entrenched in the surrounding turmoil that the other couples faced, so outside issues aren't really a concern this time around.

"Uncertainty is essential, the ultimate freedom."

That's exactly the idea that Marcus needs to teach Amy throughout One to Chase and it's the concept that will hopefully no longer make her afraid to give up some of her need for control and fly.

Minor spoilers alert!!!

‘Looking at her beautiful body naked on the bed, blindfolded, I tried to think of every way possible to blow her mind, to make her never want to run, to seal her to my side. I never expected such passion. I never expected my own response to having her that way.

Now I’m above her, holding her securely in my arms, wanting to know what’s inside her. I’ve got to find the skeleton key that will unlock her to me.’
Marcus

I loved it! This 7th installment featuring characters from the Alexander-Knight group of friends and family members is now my second favorite in the One to Hold series. I loved that Marcus was a successful sexy lawyer who also knew how to have fun and recognized that the immediate chemistry he had with Amy was worth pursuing full tilt in spite of her diehard love and leave ‘em modus operandi. It was a rather nice change of pace to have a strong female character be chased and wooed by a strong male character.

Marcus persistently showed Amy that he wouldn’t be so easily walked away from like the other men in her past had been. He had to prove to her that he wouldn’t take her “freedom” away, something that Amy witnessed her lovely mother give up first hand during her marriage.

"In life it seems you always arrive at the point where one person has to give up their freedom, has to sacrifice what they want for the other. It’s always the woman.” Amy

I loved the various ways Marcus successfully proved Amy wrong, both inside and outside the bedroom, eventually worming his way into her heart.

'He’s all I want. My heart moved to his, knit with his, and now I’m sitting here trying to figure out what comes next. I’m in unchartered waters, but the scariest part is I don’t want to run.’ Amy

Not only was One to Chase a hot as hell read, but it also had cool pop cultural references, social manners dynamics, as well as funny and heartwarming moments to round out Marcus and Amy’s love story. I always enjoy getting the updates on couples from the previous novels. And of course, no One to Hold novel would be complete without a juicy epilogue.

Up next in this fantastic series is a return to Stuart and Mariska in One to Take (One to Hold # 8) available in the Fall of 2015.

I've been looking forward to this book for some time, and Tia Louise did not disappoint! Amy and Marcus's story is a stand alone in the One To Hold Series, and it is hot and full of twists and turns! If you've read the previous books you know that Amy is the little sister of Patrick and Stuart Knight, and Marcus is Elaine's older brother.

Amy doesn't do relationships, she doesn't do commitment, she just does flings that don't require feelings other than friendship and some good times in bed. Marcus is also not into commitment and relationships, so when these two are pushed back in to one another's lives, things definitely take a turn for both of them.

This book is a little different than the other books in the series, as it's set in Chicago, and dealing with the ins and outs of the elite society. Amy is a part of this society, but left after high school and never looked back, because of some things that had gone down. She wasn't looking forward to being back, but wanted to be there for her mother. But Amy is thrown back into the drama of the high society, and Marcus is new to the Chicago elite, so he's not aware of the past and why there is some tension regarding Amy.

I loved watching Marcus chase Amy even though he was adamant that he doesn't chase and Amy start to fall for Marcus, even though she swore she didn't do relationships. I don't think either one of them really realized that they were chasing or falling, but it was awesome to read.

When Amy and Marcus are together, they are HOT HOT HOT! I enjoyed seeing them peel away they layers and walls they have built up, and even though both make some stupid mistakes, I loved Amy and Marcus together. Marcus is definitely hot, dominant, but has a soft spot for Amy. Amy is stubborn, funny, guarded and strong. Together these two are amazing, and reading their story was absolutely beautiful. The chemistry between these two is so hot, it will burn up your kindle!

I truly enjoyed Amy and Marcus's story and really hope that we get to see more of them in future installments of the One To Hold series. I hope this series goes on forever as Tia Louise has a way of telling stories that never get old and always leave me wanting more!

The thrill of the chase…and a good, dirty book to while away the hours with. That about sums up this one – my first Tia Louise book, but not my last!

Coming face to face with her wedding one-night-stand was not what Amy Knight was expecting when she agreed to meet the older brother of her new sister-in-law…

She’s back in the city looking for work, not a relationship and definitely not love. But that doesn’t mean Marcus Merritt is going to let the gorgeous blonde walk away without getting a little something of what he wants. HER.

He doesn't chase, and she doesn't get caught...but maybe that's all about to change.

SEXY! This book was super sexy… *fans self* It was also a really fun story, with a little bit of role-reversal. There was a lot of back-and-forth between these two characters, which I really enjoyed, along with the interesting insight into upper-class politics.

Marcus Merritt….SIGH. I loved him. Smart, sexy and together, with his dirty talk and desire for the elusive Amy. The way he broke the fourth wall in his narration was a delight – definitely gave me the feeling of being a part of the story, and gave me more insight into the character himself. Like I said, a lot of fun.

I’ve not read anything by Tia Louise before, so I have to admit I was a little apprehensive coming into this one knowing it was number seven in this series, but Ms. Louise did a fine job of making sure I wasn’t too confused about who was who and what was what. There’s a few mentions of previous characters and events, but I was able to follow along with no trouble; in fact, if anything, it just made me want to wander off an grab the first six and get to reading!

There were a couple of moments that felt a little repetitive, but nothing drastic. The characters were all likeable enough for me to look past any slight imperfections. In fact, if you’re looking for something fun and sexy, interesting and enjoyable, you really can’t go wrong here! ~ Beth, 4 stars

Home Run

I just stayed up way too late to finish reading this book. Once again Tia Louise has hit a home run; I don't think she can write a bad book.

This story focuses on Amy, Patrick's & Stuart's little sister and Marcus, Elaine's (Patrick's wife) big brother. In the last book in the series, Marcus and Amy had a hot and steamy one night stand, but they meet up again when Amy returns to Chicago to stay with her mother.

Amy loudly proclaims that she doesn't do relationships, and yet she can't seem to fight her attraction to Marcus. The more time they spend together, the more they seem to be headed for love. Amy fights her feelings with the ferocity of a lion because she has been jaded and scarred by some problems in her past (don't want to give it away). Marcus patiently tries to make Amy feel secure in the relationship so he tries to go REAL slow, but at times he felt very frustrated with her.

At times, I was frustrated with Amy as well. Before the reader is let in on her secret, at times I wanted to scream at Amy: "are you crazy!" for pushing this man away. Marcus is the perfect romance novel boyfriend: little alpha, little protective, but he was PERFECT for Amy because he really admired and respected her talent and her independence.

Once we find out the secrets from her past, I admit I was a little disappointed because it was hard for me to understand how the secret was so bad that it would keep her from wanting to have a serious relationship, particularly given she was in her mid-20's. I felt her reactions were more characteristic of someone a little younger and I thought it was an over reaction. This is the main reason I gave the book 4 rather than 5 stars.

Other than that, once again Tia Louise has written a great story with memorable, well developed characters and a great, engaging plot. It's hard to write a series this long and keep the plot and the characters interesting. My hats off to her for this wonderful book!
