Shattered Omegas #2
Beautifully Scarred Omega
Scars don’t mean you're ruined. They are proof of what you survived.
They scarred me and told me I’m ruined. That no alpha would ever want to bond with me.
Sophie
Anger is what keeps me alive. Fury at what was done to me. At a world that protects vile alphas instead of omegas like me.
My job is to make monsters believe I want them. I want them, all right.
I want them fucking dead.
Until the night I kiss the wrong alpha.
One mistake, and Sentinel pulls me off the field and sends me undercover as an assistant to three powerful alphas while I hunt a mole inside their company.
And one of them is the alpha I kissed.
Find the mole. Keep my distance. That should be easy.
Except the longer I spend with them, the more they give me things I stopped believing I could have.
Safety. Trust. Choice.
Max, Finn, and Ethan
We built Synthera to give omegas something too many have never had: a choice.
Then Sentinel sends us Sophie. Everything about her is a lie, right down to the color of her eyes.
But we see her anyway. The woman beneath the operative. The fear beneath the anger. The scars she thinks make her impossible to love.
She thinks if we ever learn the truth, we’ll walk away.
She’s wrong.
We don’t want to own her.
We just want her to choose us.
Beautifully Scarred Omega is a standalone dark reverse harem Omegaverse romance in the Shattered Omegas series, featuring slow burn, healing, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, found family, an undercover omega, and an MFMM HEA.
No cheating. No cliffhanger. Please check the content warnings before reading.

About the author
Lily Hinton
4 books9 followersAt sixteen, Lily Hinton stumbled across a romance novel on her mother's bookshelf that completely changed her world. What started as casual summer reading turned into a three-month binge that left her completely hooked on steamy love stories. For years, she dreamed of writing her own but never believed she had the talent. Finally, she's taken the leap to share the stories closest to her heart.
By day, she works a boring office job dealing with numbers and spreadsheets. Writing romance is her escape from the daily grind, a way to leave the mundane behind and create the passionate, spicy relationships she loves to read about. Every character gets the happy ending she believes we all deserve.
When she's not writing, she's working on jigsaw puzzles that take over her kitchen table, getting beat at chess by her husband, or spending time baking to feed her love of all things sweet. She's moved around a lot and learned that every place has stories worth telling. She's drawn to themes of found family and characters finding where they truly belong.
Lily writes for anyone who needs a break from real life, who stays up too late reading "just one more chapter," and who craves stories with both steam and emotional depth that makes their heart ache.
If you want to talk about books, share baking recipes, or just say hi, she'd love to hear from you. And if you've decided to pick up one of her books, from the bottom of her heart, thank you ❤️

What a refreshingly different take on the omegaverse genre!
Sophie is an omega who definitely does not behave like the typical omega we see in these books, and I really enjoyed that. Ethan, Finn, and Max aren’t simply pursuing her because of some magical scent match, either. Add in an actual crime/mystery plot, and suddenly we have an omegaverse story that feels genuinely creative and different.
I really enjoyed the relationship dynamics between Sophie and the guys. Lily Hinton does an excellent job of making the reader feel the care and concern they have for one another rather than simply telling us that they care. The emotional connection between the characters was one of my favourite parts of the story.
And yes… the spice is good. 🔥 There is definitely enough of it to keep things interesting without being the only thing driving the story.
I also appreciated how the book explores the vulnerability associated with being an omega. There are some interesting parallels to the dynamics between men and women in the real world, particularly around vulnerability, power, protection, and autonomy. I thought the author handled those themes with sensitivity rather than making them feel heavy-handed.
Between the unusual omega dynamics, the developing relationships, the spice, and the mystery element, Beautifully Scarred Omega gave me something I wasn't expecting from an omegaverse romance - and that's always a nice surprise.
A creative and entertaining read that kept me curious about where the story was going.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book from BookSirens and am writing/providing this honest and fair review voluntarily.

She survived men who tried to own her. Now she must choose who gets close.
Sophie has built herself into someone no one can own again. She hunts predators, hides behind carefully chosen identities, and trusts anger far more than tenderness. Then one mistake sends her undercover inside Synthera, where three powerful alphas are far too observant, far too patient, and increasingly impossible to keep at a distance.
Max sees the fury beneath her control. Finn finds the softness she keeps buried. Ethan understands the discipline holding her together. As Sophie hunts a mole threatening work that could change omega lives, forced proximity turns suspicion into attraction, attraction into trust, and trust into something much harder to run from.
The closer they get, the more Sophie has to face what was taken from her and what she still wants for herself. Max, Finn, and Ethan never ask her to become quieter, easier, or less scarred. They give her room to choose, even when desire, instinct, fear, and old trauma pull her in opposite directions.
Sophie slowly stops treating desire as danger and begins choosing intimacy on her own terms. Max learns that protection means patience as much as possession. Finn becomes the warmth that makes honesty feel less frightening, while Ethan’s quiet restraint turns into steady, deeply attentive care. Together, they move from guarded attraction into a bond built on trust, shared desire, emotional safety, and belonging without ownership.
A dark, ultra-steamy, slow burn, reverse harem omegaverse romance with forced proximity, hurt comfort, found family, protective alphas, and pack bonding. It’s about surviving what tried to define you, reclaiming desire and autonomy, and discovering that surrender can be freely chosen when love makes room for every scar. Their love never asks her to forget what happened or pretend healing is simple. It asks only that she believe the future can finally belong to her.
The Elevator Pitch: A scarred omega who built her life around survival is sent undercover into the orbit of three powerful alphas and discovers that danger is easier to face than being truly seen. As suspicion gives way to trust, the boundaries between mission, desire, and belonging begin to collapse, forcing her to confront whether love can exist without ownership. What begins as a hunt for a traitor becomes a fight for the one thing she never expected to want: the freedom to choose a future with people who refuse to turn away.
Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

I love a good Omegaverse romance, but give me one that takes the familiar tropes and does something a little different with them, and I’m one happy camper, which is why I loved Beautifully Scarred Omega. This isn’t your standard Alpha/Omega setup where everything revolves around scent matches, biological responses or an irresistible mating bond. The connection between Sophie, Ethan, Finn and Max is undeniable, but there’s so much more going on here than biology. One thing that is familiar, though, is the vulnerability and power imbalance inherent in a world where Alphas hold most of the power and Omegas are often left at their mercy. Sophie knows the darker side of the dynamic all too well, and carries the physical and emotional scars to prove it. However, rather than allowing her trauma to define her, she has turned it into a weapon. Working for the Sentinel organization, she hunts the very predators who prey upon women like her. I absolutely loved this aspect of her character. Sophie is tough, capable, resourceful, and very good at what she does. She doesn’t sit on the sidelines, she’s right in the thick of the action, making her own decisions and kicking serious butt. Then one mistake lands her undercover at Ethan, Finn and Max’s company, where she’s tasked with tracking down a mole intent on destroying the work these three men are doing to give Omegas something they desperately need: choice. There’s some very interesting real-world social commentary woven into that storyline, particularly around power, autonomy and the right to determine your own future. Unfortunately for Sophie, Ethan, Finn and Max are far more observant than she anticipated. It isn’t long before the three Alphas start seeing through her carefully constructed disguise. But even worse, they start to awaken desires Sophie had thought long since dead and buried. What I especially loved about these guys was the way they handled Sophie’s trauma. They never tried to minimize what happened to her or wave away her fears. Instead, they gave her the space, patience and support she needed to heal. Yes, they’re possessive, because… well, Omegaverse Alphas, but there’s a huge difference between being protective and ownership. Their love for Sophie is warm, caring and patient; their relationship built on trust, communication and consent rather than dominance and coercion. And the guys have their own scars and baggage too. Getting to know Ethan, Finn and Max and discovering the things that shaped them added another layer to the story and made their connection with Sophie feel even more meaningful. They aren’t simply three perfect Alphas, they’re three flawed men with their own baggage, learning how to build something healthy together. Sophie’s healing journey was probably my favourite part. It doesn’t happen overnight. Every step forward, every moment of vulnerability and every little piece of trust has to be fought for and earned. Watching Sophie slowly learn to trust not only the guys but, perhaps more importantly herself was heartwarming. I also really enjoyed watching the relationship and dynamics between Sophie, Ethan, Finn and Max evolve as she grew stronger, and it was lovely to see how their relationship changed alongside her own journey. There’s a real sense of progression rather than everything simply falling into place because the fated-mates switch has been flipped. And that final piece of Sophie’s journey, when she finally learns to love herself, trust her own instincts and realize just how far she’s come? Worth every tear. Beautifully Scarred Omega takes some familiar Omegaverse ingredients but gives them a more emotional and character-driven twist. It’s a story about healing, trust, autonomy, found family and learning that being scarred doesn’t mean being broken or make you less worthy of love.

This book was really well written and thoughtfully put together, and it had me hooked pretty much the entire way through. I really enjoyed the story, and I especially liked the growth Sophie goes through throughout the book. Her struggles genuinely got to me (there was a point where I was straight-up crying, so apparently I was emotionally invested)
One thing I really appreciated was how distinct all the guys were. They each had their own personalities and were very easy to tell apart, which honestly deserves an award in the reverse harem genre because WHY are they sometimes all the same person with a different hair/eye colour? 😂 I really enjoyed all their individual personalities and the different dynamics they had with Sophie.
I also really enjoyed the omega/political aspect of the story. The omega role in this world was so prominent and interesting, and I thought the parallels to real-world politics and social issues were really well done. It added a lot more depth to the story and made the world feel like it had something to say beyond just the romance.
My one little complaint is that I really wanted more friendships for Sophie. I understand that she’s undercover, so forming deep friendships isn’t exactly the easiest thing when you’re basically living a double life, but I still found myself missing those relationships. Especially because the omega role is such a big part of this world, I really wanted Sophie to have some close omega friends and to see more of those friendships develop.
She meets quite a few new people throughout the story, and those relationships were all well written, but those fell a little short of actually meaningful in my opinion.
Besides that, I really enjoyed how Sophie’s relationships with the guys developed. I liked seeing their relationships progress and watching their dynamics change alongside Sophie’s own growth. There was a lot of emotional development, and I really enjoyed seeing how everything evolved throughout the story.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It had an engaging story, distinct and memorable characters, interesting world-building, and enough emotional damage to make me cry — so naturally, I approve 😂
Also, a huge thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC!

Beautifully Scarred Omega broke my heart before it even gave me a chance to settle in. The opening chapters are hard to read, not because they feel shocking for the sake of it, but because Sophie's pain feels frighteningly real. When she whispers that she is ready to die, I just wanted someone to get to her before she disappeared completely. That feeling stayed with me for a long time. What kept me turning the pages was not the darkness. It was watching Sophie slowly fight her way back to herself. She never feels like someone who is magically healed overnight. Every step forward feels earned, and every moment where she chooses to trust someone again means something. Finn, Max, and Ethan each bring something different into her life, and I loved that they never tried to erase her past. They stood beside her while she learned how to breathe again. The romance is definitely a slow burn, and that made it work for me. The quiet moments landed harder than the spicy ones because I already cared about these people by then. I also enjoyed the Sentinel side of the story. It gave Sophie a purpose beyond surviving, and seeing her become someone who protects other omegas made me surprisingly emotional. By the end, I was smiling in a way I didn't expect after such a painful beginning. This is not a story about forgetting the scars. It is about learning that they do not get the final word. I closed this book feeling proud of Sophie, and honestly, I think she is one of the strongest heroines I have read in a long time.

Wow was this an emotional journey! I did not expect this level of world building and plot. Most of the time omegaverse is quick ground work to get to the delicious smutty side of the genre and I love that BUT this one is something I'd call a slow burn with way more plot than smut! It was ABSOLUTELY necessary for Sophie's character development and I ate this up! I love, love seeing why our MCs are the way that we are and BOY did my heart hurt for all parties involved. We dont just get a quick little flashback, we get the whole start to finish broken souls who find love despite their best efforts to avoid it at all costs. We get to see their love story not happen because of their biology but because they form a true honest connection. It was so so sweet. And we also get to see our FMC Sophie's be an absolute baddie and kick booty left and right. We see her journey of learning to love herself and trust herself and when it all finally clicks? Beautiful and delicious. This is absolutely something I'd rec for people who are wanting to start the omegaverse world because its a lot tamer on the omegaverse side of things but I dont say that as a bad thing! Just a 'hey I think you'd like this if its not something you normally read' kind of thing.

I read the first book in this series and thought it was okay. I liked this one much, much better.
Sophia had so much damage going on and working it the only way she knew how. She was smart, good at what she did, while never really understanding how much she was missing in her life.
I appreciated that Hinton told us the guys were playboys but didn't show us. It made it easier to get to know them without all the noise. I liked them. All of them. I actually didn't have a favorite. They got off to a rocky start, but I liked how they approached Sophia. It was a slow burn, as it should be with someone with their reputations and issues and her damage.
Definitely recommend this one. You don't have to read the first book to understand this one, but it does explain the side relationships to enrich this story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

She was scarred inside and out.
She was an omega. She aspired to be a nurse. He father had other Ideas. He sells her for $2000. She was only worth $2000 in her father’s eyes. He sold her to alphas from h3ll. They tried to break her. They cut her repeatedly with knives. Then on the day she gives up. Some knights in black tactical gear save her. They gave her a purpose to keep living so she could move on with her life. She becomes an undercover operative. She dedicates her life to freeing other omegas from the horrors she suffered. She does not realize she is only half healed. Her op goes sideways and things start to happen during the op. Can they help? Will they figure out who the mole is? Will she be able to accept her feelings and give in to the emotions she keeps fighting?

This was a solid read. The characters were nice and well developed. Some things repeated. The sentence “she worked three jobs to keep us fed and housed. ” was told multiple times. At one point Max goes on a trip where he has to take a plane to get back. I don’t recall reading any of that until the moment it’s said. I guess there was a time jump? The leads backstory was very harrowing. I like the plot but felt it took forever to get things moving forward with the investigation. I was a bit bored in the middle. Things started to pick back up and while I figured out who was causing all the issues, I still enjoyed the reveal.

Book 2 of Shattered Omegas
'Beautifully Scarred Omega is a standalone dark reverse harem Omegaverse romance in the Shattered Omegas series, featuring slow burn, healing, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, found family, an undercover omega, and an MFMM HEA.'
The characters were very appealing and complex and compelling and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

3.5 stars.
This was a well-rounded (for the most part) Omegaverse standalone.
I think the opening scene was so chilling, and there was a lot to love in this book. The Males were everything; their stories and characters were such a joy to read.
Where this book lost me was the sudden change in the FMC's attitude. Also, I found the last portion of the book mostly spice, when I really wanted more character-depth moments. But that is personal preference.

10/10 for me. I loved the characters and depth to them. The backstory and everything she's done was great. Seeing her grow and realize she can rely on the pack and be happy was amazing.
Getting the others POV also really helped tell the story.
Definitely didn't see who the mole was gonna be, was actually a bit shocked.

September 23, 2026OMG. This book is amazing, I received an advance copy and im leaving this review voluntarily. Sophia an independent omega that has taken down more Alphas that are corrupted, she is put on an assignment to bring a mole to surface. She had an accidental encounter with one at a gala where she had another Alpha as an assignment. This mistake cost her, but maybe this mistake was a blessing in disguise. Just so you’re aware , my eyes definitely leaked during the reading of this book.

Newauthorfor me
Writing was good. No complaints on that.
Im in a huge book slump so this might be the problem (me).
But i could not stand the FMC
If I were Finn, i'd be pissed too. She's impatient, immature, self centered, she thinks she knows everyone, runs i to dangerous situations alone, unarmed and then gets mad when everyone yells at her for being stupid. And a liar.
Max was right- she's got a death wish. Finn was right - shes a liar.

It felt like two stories
It was like there was a split in the book. Both parts were good, but the book was plot heavy, which I loved, until the romance started and suddenly the plot got a few mentions and it was all about the romance. I feel like they could have been melded a little better. Sophie's personality shift was a little too much to feel natural. That said, I finished the book and really liked it over all. The ending was good and the writing is really well done.

I like the first part, but …
… it seemed to me that she got over her trauma of being raped and tortured a little too easily. I would’ve liked to seen the alpha’s reassuring her, being gentle, and helping her get over that trauma before things got too hot and heavy.

But life doesn't always make it easy, even though she's had her ups. And downs, she had a very bad mistake and took the wrong man up to his room, instead of being where she should have been. And that kind of leads to a domino effect of her having to go to said, man's work and be undercover.
This job was to find out who was trying to destroy the work of three men max. Ethan and finn, along with trying to juggle what she feels for them, and along the way what they began to feel for her.
This author is one of the newer authors i've read, and for the most part, it's a very thorough story. Even if the plot kind of gets lost in the last quarter part where it goes from a story of a girl undercover to a bit more smutty than at the beginning, started out as. I think with a little bit of tweaking and arrangement, maybe extending more of the smut. So it all kind of works together and doesn't just go from, oh I have a job to boom. Forget everything because men and their parts are involved, that this story is definitely going to be a favorite of everybody's
