The light chases away the dark. The light commands. But the light has a weakness in its spark. A single burst of air, and I will do what the dark demands.
Tick-tock, tick-tock, for darkness is bound by mere hours. The sun will rise once more, weakening the dark’s powers.
But at night, what is done cannot be undone, yet one last gift to the dead can restore the semblance of breath. Break the ties that bind you to death.
Lindsey R. Loucks is a USA Today bestselling author of paranormal romance, science fiction, and contemporary romance. When she's not discussing books with anyone who will listen, she's dreaming up her own stories. Eventually her brain gives out, and she'll play hide and seek with her cat, put herself in a chocolate-induced coma, or watch scary movies alone in the dark to re-energize.

And again I say Wow! This was a fantastic trilogy! This last book was just as fast paced, dark and intense as the first two. I love that I was so caught up in the emotions of everyone too. I love the touches of humor that made me laugh out loud or smile every now and then. The ending tied things up very nicely, but with just a touch of uncertainty, so maybe the author will visit this world again and we'll find out if Leigh's sister Darby will turn to the dark side or be saved...
So far the Grave Winner series has been 'meh'. The POVs suddenly change in this last book which suited what was going on but felt off to me, however Jo's POV was so funny and she was definitely my fave character in the series. Plot was a bit here and there with new things constantly being added to the storyline, the romance took a sudden turn too so I didn't care for it at all...I recommend this series for an easy read without getting invested.
I have really mixed feelings about this book. What I find most troublesome ist that it feels like this last installment should have stayed attached to the second book becasue there is hardly any arc in it. The whole 175 pages are filled with a continuously high tension while Leigh bumbles along, again pretty much without a plan, trying to take care of the problems that keep popping up all around her. And the problems are huge and plenty so she has her hands full and there really is little time to do some planning, especially since she doesn't have that many resources available to her. It could have been shortened or rather condensed. Because even though the stakes remain high throughout the whole of the book, it kept losing my attention and interest. There is only so much "Oh no, so many problems again and I don't have a clue what to do about them" I can take.
Yet, one aspect that I really loved to read about were the relationships between Leigh and her best friend Jo, and Leigh and her family. They are (still :) ) so supportive and heart-warming and the conflicts that arise from them when Leigh tries to protect and save them but doesn't know if she can really affected me emotionally. Also the conflicting feelings she has towards her little sister are portrayed in such an authentic way that it was really easy for me to feel Leigh's fear both for and of her little sister. I would love to read more about them and learn what happens next and how they will deal with their experiences.
However, what I would gladly have read much much less about was the "romance" between Leigh and Callum. :/ Nothing new here. I wish the author would have spent more time on the real conflict, maybe giving Leigh a little more time to talk with Darby and Jo about what they could do to solve the problem. Darby is, afterall, a book worm so why not ask her for help? It would have made the whole story much more believable for me. The romance doesn't contribute any depth to the story. It feels more like an add-on to make the books more interesting to potential readers?
But enough of that. If you can stand eye-rolling your way through the passages about Leigh and her "flimsy/angsty/conflicting" feelings for Callum, the book and the story are enjoyable and engaging. Leigh is a strong girl fighting for the people she loves and absolutely refuses to give up. She has to deal with self doubt and very discouraging circumstances but she stays true to herself and choses to face the challenges with stubborness and humor. Her sister Darby, her best friend Jo and her dad are interesting, believable characters that have motives and goals and enrich the story.
I can recommend this book to anyone looking for an interesting book (series, don't start with the last installment!) about authentic characters and moving feelings of friendship and ties between family. Just don't go in expecting it to be a great love story. :)
I loved this book! It's not often that the third book can give you just as many feels as the first in a series, but this book does that and then some. I spent every spare moment I had gobbling this book up, and the nonstop, fast-paced action made it easy to do so.
The Trinity Bleeds is told from the point of view of three different people, which was a nice change from the others in order to understand everything going on- and believe me, there was a lot going on! Leigh has to try to overcome her demons, both the supernatural kind and the ones inside of herself, before the darkness takes over, and even ventures into the core to try to accomplish these tasks. All the while her friends (new and old,) dad, and sister are trying to figure out what exactly is going on and trying to help in anyway possible. It's easy to get lost in these characters and have a better connection with them with the different perspectives and great storytelling.
The Trinity Bleeds is an epic conclusion to The Grave Winner trilogy, and fans will not be disappointed. I highly recommend to those seeking an adventure of the paranormal variety, and can't wait to read more from Lindsey Loucks.
What an incredible journey. This book is quite possibly the best YA Horror book ive read! I am not sure how but the author made this one even better than the first two!!! I have been anxiously waiting to read the final chapter or Leigh's story. This book started out with a kick ass chapter. It picked up right in the middle of the action. The last book left us in a questionable predicament. This book raised more questions but answered them before you could finish the thought. Loucks keep this book flowing with intense action and heart pounding moments! I was thrilled to see some of my favorite characters again. I am not ready to let them go! This book is a wonderful fast paced action packed paranormal! With it's ups and down and phenomenal character development and engaging plot this book will suck you in and keep your attention. it might even make you laugh 'What a herpes zoo tonight had become. " Was my favorite quote from the book.
Oh The Trinity Bleeds, how do I begin? I had a love/hate relationship with this book, not because it was bad, it was written really well. I loved that once again I couldn't put one of Lindsey's books down, but hated the fact that everything is going to the Krapper! This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, Leigh's constant battles were literally unearthing. I could not tear through the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen next! My imagination was in total overdrive. Adventure and mystery were there until the very last page.
