Dieser Band hat mir wieder sehr gut gefallen, auch wenn nicht wirklich was passiert ist. Und irgendwie verstehe ich nicht, worauf diese Reihe hinaus wollte 🙈

In the beginning, I wasn't really into it. But it's a really sweet story. And the ending <3 <3

Konnichiwa to all readers 🌸

Today I bring you the review of the latest volume of the Daily Butterfly manga. I should note that the volume with the extras and the general review will come in two separate installments. With that said, we begin:

🦋The chapter begins immediately with the duel between Kawasumi and Atohira, of which the results are omitted, but we sense that their rivalry comes to an end after him, to move on to the final stretch with the high school graduation.

🦋The central chapters focus on the decisions that the main characters must make about their future at university.

During them we are reminded of some of the experiences lived by Suiren and her group. Although the climax occurs when the main couple finally kisses in front of the river where he accidentally hit her with a ball on their first school trip.

Another relevant event in these chapters is that Aya seeks to affirm her friendship with Suiren by trying to confess her frustrated love for Kawasumi, but she is unable to do so.

🦋In the last third of the volume, Suiren and Kawasumi must face their last obstacle and that is that while he will study medicine, she will do the same with professional pastry. This inconvenience will physically distance them, so their relationship will become long-distance.
The ending of Daily Butterfly offers a last breath with an audience desperate to date Suiren, however, she stands up and bows in front of them, rejecting them.

Consequently, Kawasumi takes the stand and proclaims that Suiren is his partner, and that he will protect her throughout her life, definitively consolidating the relationship.

🌸Conclusion: The outcome of this work would have been perfect if it had not been for having left the fight with Atohira in the air.

In my humble opinion, I think that the bond of friendship between Atohira and Suiren developed in the previous volume would deserve a comment from Kawasumi to seal its personal development.

Rating: 4🌸

Arigato enjoy your time 🌸

Sadly, this is the last volume of the main story, and volume 12 is said to be a collection of short stories for the series. While there's not really a final ending, our main cast does finish high school and are on to new adventures in college. We may see the most obvious progress of Suiren coming out of her shell and opening up to her friends in this volume as well, as she's even more outspoken, though still quiet. Kawasumi steps up a lot too and actively is seeking out time with Suiren and reassure her, which is good with the unknown looming ahead as they go to separate colleges. We get more than a few cute scenes with this main couple, and a some hilarious ones too with the rest of the school cast fawning over them. It's still a very slow-burn series, but it's a cute story all the same and has a good cast of characters.

Taichi faces Atohira in their final sparring match... that we don't get to see... or know the results of... because it ultimately doesn't matter. Taichi and Suiren are together as they enter their final year of highschool.

Meanwhile, Aya realizes she has a crush that is likely to be completely unrequited. And the story sits with this inevitability for a while.

Then it's off to graduation and rosy dreams of the future. THE END. Because apparently the last volume is a bunch of extra chapters for the side characters... you know, stuff that would normally be sprinkled throughout the rest of the series. But I guess it might all be epilogue content. Either way... on to the last volume.

This series has 12 volumes.

Well, this is the final volume. I thought 12 might be it, but I'm glad they made it known. Last volumes are tricky. Lots of things were wrapped up with side characters and their whole third year was essentially in this volume.

I like how this series treats the characters like real teenagers. Their emotions and new experiences are portrayed with seriousness and not trivially. The characters are all kind and delicate (?), and they care about their friendships and relationships. It's quiet and slow and unique for this reason.

I wasn't hooked on the first volume, but I am glad I continued with it.

Recently, I’ve read a couple series where one of the main couple would’ve been better off with the love rival….. this series fits that bill, too. While I liked both characters, they didn’t mesh together and would definitely hurt one another down the line. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Regardless of those feelings, this series is fun (I think other series have done the athlete/baker better, though) and the art is impeccable!

This volume looks to be the end of main story line with a final volume that has extra side stories. Like a Butterfly was cute overall. The story struggled at times, kinda lost its way near the end, but with endearing characters and beautiful art, we can forgive any shortcomings in the series.

⭐4.5⭐

The story was cute but the ending was...underwhelming. I know there's a volume with short stories so maybe I'll get a better "conclusion" there. I did enjoy it but just felt...empty...compared to the other volumes. I still love the character development of Kawasumi and Suiren but we didn't even get a scene of Kawasumi finally using her first name. In short, underwhelming.

It was cute, but I think I got used to a bit of mature content in mangas... the fact that they only kissed once had a bit like *uuuuugh* heheh! Nevertheless, it was a good read.

We’re reaching the end of this series and I hope it’s not a bittersweet end like this volume.

Volume eleven focuses on Aya’s story. Aya’s facial expressions are drawn quite differently in this volume. She doesn’t retain her dead-fish eye or uninterested look and has more of a cute girl look that can rival Suiren’s. Aya has unconsciously started to fall in love with Ryousuke and although she cares she also knows he’s in a relationship. In other stories, Atohira has graduated and left town and the school year is about to end and everyone will soon follow their own paths.

One regret I’ll have with this manga always is that it didn’t give us enough karate scenes. The cliffhanger we ended on last volume is realized in volume eleven but it’s disappointing to say the least. I understand that maybe the series wanted to take a more soft tone and mainly tell the story from Suiren’s perspective but they did tease us with awesome scenes in previous volumes. I was looking forward to this karate scene in particular since it is the turning point in Kawasumi and Atohira’s relationship.

Given this is a shoujo, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t get at least one direct or indirect kissing scene from our main leads. I’ll leave it at that to not spoil anymore but do give it a read if you’re curious!

Like the name of this series it has very cute artwork throughout the series but the pacing feels wrong. In earlier volumes, the pacing felt too slow and we weren’t given the opportunity to indulge in many side stories. Now near the ending, the pacing feels too fast and many side stories are ending or developing. It’s hard to connect and make sense of it all, especially predict what will happen after they all graduate.

Overall, it is a cute shoujo. We’re one volume away from ending this series and I feel like I’ve missed so much. Aya’s developing feelings, Yuri’s relationship, Ryousuke’s relationship with Mina, who really is Meguna and what happens next with Koharu and Atohira? There are a lot of unanswered questions and vagueness but overall it provides a very calm and cute feel. There’s not many unnecessary scenes and conflicts and everything is rather peaceful. I’m looking forward to reading the last volume soon and hoping for a happy ending!

I don't rate mangas.

Hibi Chouchou, like its name, has one of CUTEST and most beautiful artwork I've ever seen. The characters are so damn pretty that I just stare at them for hours without even paying attention to the plot. That being said, the plot is adorable but not extraordinary. It's the kind of story you enjoy but forget about it afterwards. I loved that it skipped boring parts of life because just like that, they were graduating and that was cool. The mangaka didn't drag the story for too long and that's great. I'm waiting for the last volume to be scanlated so I can wrap this up and move on.

The series ends here. The 12th volume is side stories and whatnot. It ended very typical. Graduation and lots of tears. But also remembering happy memories. I just wish that their entire 3rd year wasn’t squished into just 2-3 chapters. It felt very rushed. I do like that Kawasumi and Suiren’s relationship did grow. They were too awkward at the beginning but they were so close by the end.

Overall, I give this series a 3.5/5.

I love Suu Morishita but this is not their strongest series. It is very simple and can be so boring at times. This would be the perfect series for ages 12-14 though. It’s innocent, sweet and doesn’t have much drama.
