Showcasing Shereen: A Steamy Targeted Abduction Life & Death Vigilante Rescue Romance
I was put up for private auction while eight months pregnant. My husband doesn't negotiate. 🤰🏼
I watch the surveillance footage once. Then I tell Steve to hold headquarters and I drive south. Legacy has no idea what they've started.
I'm a Lamaze instructor. My captors think that's irrelevant. They're wrong about almost everything.
Three weeks. Four compounds across California. Every hour costs and the clock doesn't stop. ⌚
My baby kicks during the hardest nights. I talk about their father. I describe him accurately. I tell them he's coming.
She's not waiting to be rescued. She's doing something I can't see from the outside and she's doing it alone. I have to be fast enough.
Eight months pregnant, locked in a luxury cage on the California coast, running the only operation available to me. Legacy made a choice. Now they'll live with it.
~🖤~
This is book 16 in the H.A.V.E.N. series that can also be read as a standalone steamy romance novel. However, some of the side characters continue from the Bad Boy Billionaires and Baby Bump club series. Still, you don't need to read those series beforehand. The story is based on the following Main couple - forced proximity, co-worker romance, opposites attract, married, private Investigator, ex copper, protector, Australian, American nurse practitioner, smart & sassy, pregnant, big city. Rescue couple - Married, kidnapping, millionaire, alpha male, protector, ex-navy SEAL, HAVEN leader, strong silent type, strong independent woman, reverse age gap (cougar), Lamaze & pilates instructor, mother.

Pregnant, Kidnapped, and Definitely Not Waiting Around to Be Rescued
Okay, kidnapping someone is obviously a terrible idea. Kidnapping the very pregnant wife of a former SEAL who works with an organization devoted to rescuing trafficking victims? That seems like an especially spectacular failure in judgment.
Showcasing Shereen is book sixteen in Kesandra Wick’s H.A.V.E.N. series, and this time the danger lands directly inside the H.A.V.E.N. family. Shereen, Victor’s wife, is eight months pregnant when she’s abducted by Legacy and eventually slated to be sold at auction. Victor, understandably, is having absolutely none of that.
What I liked most, though, is that this doesn’t turn Shereen into a pregnant damsel sitting around waiting for her highly capable husband to come save her. Victor and the H.A.V.E.N. team are desperately trying to find her, but Shereen is working on the problem from her end too.
And she’s GOOD at it.
There’s a scene involving a balcony where she manages to lift a glass door off its track and considers getting herself to the neighboring balcony, and I think that was the point when I went, “Oh. Okay. Shereen has got this.” Or at least she’s going to make her kidnappers work considerably harder than they expected. She’s frightened and in an incredibly dangerous situation, but she thinks. She watches. She looks for opportunities. Her pregnancy affects what she can realistically do without suddenly rendering her helpless, which I appreciated.
Victor also gets a chance to step outside his usual role. His involvement with H.A.V.E.N. becomes painfully personal when it’s his wife and unborn child who are missing, and that changes the emotional weight of the rescue. He’s not simply doing a job anymore. He’s a terrified husband who happens to have access to a group of extremely capable people and absolutely no intention of losing his family.
There’s plenty happening here—kidnapping, trafficking, an auction, escape attempts, rescue operations, Legacy, romance, pregnancy, and the continuing H.A.V.E.N. storyline—so subtle and leisurely this is not. 😂 The pace moves quickly, sometimes quickly enough that I wouldn’t have minded a little more breathing room around some of the emotional moments. With stakes this personal, a few quieter scenes could have made the fear and eventual payoff hit even harder.
The romance also isn’t being built from scratch, which gives this story a different feeling from the usual romantic suspense setup. Shereen and Victor already love each other. The question isn’t whether they’ll fall in love while somebody is trying to kill them; it’s what that existing love looks like when something absolutely horrific happens to one of them. I liked that change.
Readers who haven’t followed the series may also miss some of the satisfaction of seeing familiar H.A.V.E.N. characters come together when one of their own is threatened. The story appears able to stand on its own, but sixteen books of history are sixteen books of history. There are relationships and loyalties here that are naturally going to mean more if you’ve watched them develop.
Mostly, though, I loved that Shereen remained an active participant in her own rescue. Of course, Victor is coming for her. Yes, H.A.V.E.N. is coming for her.
But Shereen isn’t sitting around waiting for either of them.
Apparently Legacy kidnapped the wrong pregnant lady.

Showcasing Shereen by Kesandra Wick is another exciting addition to the H.A.V.E.N. series. This story had everything I enjoy in romantic suspense: danger, action, intense chemistry, and a hero determined to protect the woman he loves. Shereen’s situation immediately pulled me into the story, and the abduction and rescue elements kept the tension high. I especially enjoyed the combination of the suspenseful storyline with the emotional connection between the characters. The romance brought plenty of heat, while the life-and-death stakes added an extra layer of intensity. Kesandra Wick did a great job creating characters who were easy to root for and a story that kept moving. Overall, Showcasing Shereen was an enjoyable steamy romantic suspense, with a strong protective hero, a dangerous situation, and happily-ever-after romance.

This is book 16 of the H.A.V.E.N. series, and the stories get better and better each time. The intrigue in each of the books is based on human trafficking and the efforst HAVEN does to extract people and help dismantle the organization. This is the first story in the series that deals with a pregnancy. Shereen is kidnapped and being held to be auctioned, but she is not ready to be sold and is already working a strategy to save herself, however her husband, Victor- and ex SEAL- is working with HAVEN to rescue his family.
Another great story filled with action, passion, twist, and a great love story. A must read!!.

A new situation arises at H.A.V.E.N., and this time it is too close for comfort for Victor and the HAVEN family. The book is another fantastic HAVEN book, full of suspense and romance. If you have been reading the other books, you’ll find this to be a little different, as Victor takes on a new role, rather than just being in the control room. You’ll definitely want to read this book in the series. Shereen plays a major role, after being behind the scenes since a much earlier book. Kesandra Wick has another winning book here! You don’t want to miss it!.

This action packed story brings Legacy one step closer to defeat. It also brings another member into the family quite unexpectedly. Shereen gets kidnapped to be sold at auction a few weeks before her baby is due. Victor will not let his wife be sold so this kick starts another wonderful HAVEN page-turner.

Showcasing Shereen is a tense, character driven thriller, and my favorite part is Shereen’s escape attempt on the Tiburon balcony—lifting the glass door off its track and nearly leaping across to the next balcony before being grabbed. Her calm, methodical thinking, even while heavily pregnant, makes the scene unforgettable and shows exactly why she’s the heart of the story.

This is book 16 of H.A.V.E.N Hidden Ally Vigilante Extraction Network. A standalone story of a kidnapped pregnant woman and her husband who leave no stone unturned to find her and bring her home. It is fast paced and suspenseful with a happy ever after ending.

This next installment in the Haven series hits close to home as Victors wife Shereen is kidnapped by Legacy. The whole team comes together to find and rescue her. Great characters with an interesting plot that has action, intrigue and love. As usual it’s great that the author includes lots of previous characters.
