Dead accurate : A Gripping, Fast-Paced, Mind-Bending Psychological Thriller of Domestic Suspense: Dark Gaslighting, a Wife's Secret, a Shocking Twisted Marriage, a Hitman, and a Murdered Husband

Rate this book
SHE HIRED THE MAN WHO KILLED HER HUSBAND.
THEN SHE CAME HOME NINE MINUTES EARLY.

Ethan Vance didn’t deserve to die.

Nora hired someone to kill him anyway.

The three cameras she hid in her own house were supposed to record a stranger walking in and walking out again—proof that whoever killed Ethan, it wasn’t his wife.

Instead, Ethan is dead on the music-room floor. The killer is still in the hallway.

And every camera is gone.

Dr. Nora Vance spends seventeen minutes performing CPR on the husband she paid to have murdered. Then she gives the police a precise description of a man nobody can find.

By the time the jury returns a guilty verdict, Nora has vanished.

Now a federal marshal is on her trail, getting closer to understanding how she thinks.

There is exactly one person alive who can prove Nora didn’t kill Ethan with her own

The man she paid to do it for her.

So Nora does the only sensible thing a guilty woman can do.

She goes hunting for her husband’s killer.

Nora needs the police to find him.

She just can’t let them find out who hired him.

DEAD ACCURATE is a fast, ice-cold psychological thriller about a brilliant guilty woman, a murder planned down to the minute, and the uncomfortable pleasure of hoping the wrong person gets away with it.

For readers of Gone Girl, The Silent Patient, and The Housemaid.

Read this in one sitting because it just drew me in.

I loved the fact Kade gave us the ending before the beginning, what a fantastic way of writing the story. As we all know sometimes it’s better to analyse from back to front to get the facts 😉 The story imo was great which kept me glued to the pages, the fact Nora the FMC was acutely aware of every detail, the intricacies involved were so precise and even her calls with the Marshal Ray Doyle kept you wondering where it was all leading, even though we knew the answer. You are still left reading with a need to know.

Honestly, I freely admit I do like Kade’s style of writing there’s just something stylistic and precise about it and that keeps me coming back. That being said if you like a storyline with a little intrigue and maybe your own detective work, this is one you should try.

Dead Accurate is a fast-paced thriller that throws you straight into the story. A wife hires a killer to murder her husband, the killer does exactly what he's been paid to do, and the wife goes on the run. So, from the outset, you more or less know what's happened. It's everything that follows that keeps you reading.
Nora is an interesting character. She's clearly a clever woman, although some of her mannerisms and behaviours are a little odd. I found myself getting frustrated with her at times, whilst at others I couldn't help but admire her sheer audacity. Despite some of her questionable decisions, I was rooting for her throughout!
I was hooked on the story and really enjoyed the pacing. There was very little time for the plot to drag, and the different POVs were easy to follow. I liked how more of the story came together as things progressed, giving you a better understanding of the characters and their motivations.
My only criticism is that there were one or two loose threads that I would have liked answers to. It left me wondering whether this is intended as a standalone or if there's the possibility of another book. I have questions, and I'd quite like them answered!
Overall, a good read that kept me interested from start to finish. If you enjoy a fast-paced thriller that makes you question the characters' decisions, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a go.
Thank you to the author for giving me the Advanced Reading Copy.

“Dead accurate” is the story of a strong, smart and deadly accurate woman ! Nora is a doctor, she is married to a piano teacher- they have a lovely home and one will think she has it all ! But she got tempted to temper with some documents at work and get paid for it … “the perfect husband” understood and decided to blackmail her … after the third payment she realises that the blackmail will never stop … so her husband needs to be ended!
Nora hires a professional to get rid of Ethan but gets home a few minutes earlier than she is supposed to … so she sees the killer’s face !
That face is all she has to keep her out of jail …
So the only option in front of her to stay free is to find the man she hired and cover the tracks of the payment!
Nora always works with facts and that means she has the pure advantage of a cold mind and fast reaction! She is so accurate that it gets annoying at some point and in other moments you end up admiring that quality of hers ! She is so smart and brave you end up rooting for her … but will she commit the perfect crime and have the perfect escape plan you will have to read this fast past psychological triller by Kate Vale ! I highly recommend it !

Dead Accurate got off to a very exciting start and really draws you in. You never know what’s going to happen next. I also found the characters very interesting and mysterious, and I was dying to find out how the story ended right away. I especially loved the vibe the book gives off, and I read it in just a few days.

Kade Vale’s writing style, with its short sentences and paragraphs, is a perfect fit for a thriller, and I really enjoyed it because you always feel like you’re moving along quickly and not wasting time on unimportant details. I also really love how easy it is to read, which really encourages you to keep turning the pages.

On some parts and especially toward the end, I would have liked a bit more depth or explanation. Still, I had a great time, and if you’re in the mood for a fast-paced thriller, Dead Accurate is definitely the right choice!!

This was an ARC read. This one is back in the 3rd-person point of view we all love from Kade!
This story follows Nora on her journey to find the person she hired to kill her husband, all while staying out of the police's grasp. All because the killer took her proof, she was 'innocent '. There's blackmail, a police chase, and a near-death experience for Nora.
My favorite character is Nora, the main character. She is an exceptionally smart doctor who thrives on things being perfect. She sees an exit before anyone and notices details within a few seconds. Just the way she can judge the size of an opening from so far up in the air and hit her mark near-perfectly is shocking. Her mind really is something else.
There are some unanswered questions that I feel were intentional for us, the readers, to put things together on our own. Really a fast-paced read, but an enjoyable read!

I received an advanced copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I need to disclose that I am a mood reader, so my opinion might not be a popular one.

This was a short, easy-to-read story with concise sentences that kept the plot moving quickly. I appreciated that there were no unnecessary details; however, I wanted more depth regarding Nora and what was happening with the trials. The ending fell flat for me because it lacked closure.

I don’t want to provide specifics and spoil anything. I liked the story, but I didn’t love it. I am grateful for the opportunity to read it. As a mood reader, I need important details and closure unless the story is a cliffhanger, duet, or part of a series.

The first sentence of this book got me into the story and I couldn’t get out till the end. Incredibly written, Kade did an incredible job as always. Every chapter was its own little cliffhanger and I loved it.

Nora’s mind is something else, I was in awe by how smart she is. I have to admit that I figured what happened pretty quickly, but that didn’t deter me from reading at all. I needed to know all the ins and outs of the plan.

Poor Dana was in the middle of it and dare I say she was a bit used by Nora? I wasn’t really happy about Nora involving her, but hey, what can you do, am I right? Everybody needs help once in a while.

Really happy about this book, and I wouldn’t mind if we got another part of the story .

4 stars.

I enjoyed this book.
I liked the short sentence writing style.

I read in one sitting as I was invested in the story from the beginning.

Reason for not 5 stars:
1. No closure on what happened with Curtis Morrow.
2. I would have liked more of an explanation on why Nora altered the forms for the drug trial, it sort of contradicted her character - because when she is on the run she stops to help the biker at her own expense.

3. I wanted a little more from the ending. But also im glad she caught.

ARC review

Very fast paced thriller by Kade Vale. The writing is snappy, to the point and pretty much had me gripped from the start. Nora is an intriguing character and I really wanted to know what happened next. I’d be interested to know more about Nora and the reasons behind why she acted in the ways she did. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something fast paced!

Thank you to the author Kade Vale for the arc copy of this upcoming release. 2.5 rounded to a 3. This is a psychological thriller about a doctor whose seemingly mundane music teaching husband is murdered. Did she really hire a hitman? Can she or does she manipulate the evidence? Can she or will she get away with it? In all honesty I struggled with this book. For me the story was very discombobulating and I didn’t like any of the characters especially the main character Dr Nora Vance. It’s a short read. Just because this book wasn’t for me doesn’t mean others shouldn’t give it a read.

Book Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75

Dead Accurate by Kade Vale

Accuracy
Hit Man
Numbers

I was kindly given an ARC of this book by the author who reached out to me directly. I was just about to select my next book so it came at the perfect time.

I loved the main character, Nora, who is a Doctor and a little OCD about the accuracy of times, numbers, and almost everything else.

The book captured me from the first chapter and with the short sentences and paragraphs it makes it a fast paced thriller which is exactly what I crave.

The time and numbers is a theme that runs throughout the book which I really enjoyed.

Nora’s husband is dead, she tries to give CPR whilst on the phone to the ambulance service. There’s someone in her home… he has half a face. Someone must know who he is. Nora is on a mission to find the killer before she’s convicted.

A great read! Thank you for letting me read this. It’s out now so grab your copy!

It’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 from me!!

Nora Vance comes home to find her husband murdered by a mysterious stranger, but she knows far more about his death than she’s willing to admit. As the investigation closes in, every carefully planned detail begins to unravel, turning a perfect murder into a dangerous game of evidence, deception and survival. In Dead Accurate, Kade Vale includes all the elements of a nail-biting psychological thriller.

I was hooked right from the start. Nora is an unusual character: she's clever and controlled, but also sarcastic and grey (what's not to like, right?).
Knowing that she hired the man who killed her husband, while watching the police slowly work out what actually happened, was a compelling perspective.
The short chapters made for a fast-paced reading experience, and every new piece of evidence seemed to shift the picture slightly.
I was surprised by Nora’s relationship with Ethan; it actually ended up being far more complicated than I expected, especially once the blackmail was revealed.
Definitely a thriller you want to read.

✨ ARC REVIEW — Dead Accurate by Kade Vale ✨📚

Looking for an easy-to-read psychological thriller? 👀🔪 Then Dead Accurate might be one to add to your TBR!

I really enjoyed the storyline and how smoothly the book read. It was an easy and enjoyable read that kept me turning the pages! 📖✨

That being said, I would have loved a little more tension and depth throughout the story. As a psychological thriller, I think a bit more suspense and intensity could have made the story even more gripping and immersive. 👀🔥

Overall, though, I had a good time reading Dead Accurate and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a quick and enjoyable psychological thriller!
