"...I'll fight for you 'till the bitter end. I refuse to hide in my books when what I want is right here."

OH. MY. WORD.
This was the first book I have read by Krista and boy did I just find another favorite author of mine. This story begins after some things have already taken place which is makes it more realistic. Usually we see the characters go through the events that mostly shape them into who they are at that time and I was surprised to find that isn't much of the case here.
Venn, the main character, is already a badass and we slowly uncover her dark past as we go. There are some amazing characters in this book that have me begging for more!!! (Ahem-WILL-ahem). Venn was a different protagonist than what I'm used to... but I LOVED it!!! Krista gave me a character I didn't know I was yearning for and I admire her so much for it.
Because of the difference in protagonists, it was slow for me to form a connection with them but when I read the quote up there... it was like a dam was set free. Oh, what a line. I needed a moment to put myself together. It made my heart swell and some goosebumps were seen. I might have squealed a bit too. I teared up after that and man did my respect spring forward for these characters. I was hooked after that particular scene and there was no going back!
This book kept me on my toes throughout its entirety with all of its mystery surrounding the characters. Krista doesn't reveal everything at once which is the reason I am going crazy right now. I need to know more! That cliffhanger is going to be the death of me...

Bloodlore

When I can't put a book down I rate them 5 stars. I am at my happiest when I can go to the different places. I don't get a lot done when I read, but I love it! Krista Walsh thank for the adventure!

I loved this book. Loved Venn, even her darker shadows. And Will. And Venn's friendship with Remy. And there's a very good chance I was close to tears near the end. Can't wait to read the next book.

Venn has her own series! Yay.
Venn is a badass, young woman, whose life hasn't been easy, and in this book, I learned more about her past.

This time, trouble does not come to Andvell, but outside the borders, and that gave me another look of this vast world the author has created. I should have bought the entire trilogy, because once I saw I neared the end of book one, I wanted to know what came next!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

This book has a lot going on for a first one. That doesn't mean that the story is well written, full of action, adventure, and mystery. Oh no, quite the contrary; this book has it all and the author has manipulated and complied all the elements into one hell of a good story. A very good read.

Book 1

Book 1 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The plot and characters developed well and continues in book 2.

Technically, you don't have to have read the Meratis Trilogy to read the Cadis Trilogy, but I would recommend it. You'll have a better feel for the characters' personalities and relationships and understand why Venn is a part of a family she's not related to and why it's hard for her sometimes.

I loved the Meratis Trilogy, so I was really looking forward to finding out what happened five years later and to getting to know Venn better. As I expected, the author did not disappoint. Bloodlore briefly explains what's happened in the last five years then sets our heroine and her friends on a journey to find a missing ambassador, and they find a lot of stuff that sets up the rest of the series.

I've absolutely devoured every Krista Walsh book I've read, and Bloodlore was no different. She has a great sense of humor, great character and story development, and a great imagination.

Picked up Bloodlore, by Krista Walsh on Friday afternoon, chores done, errands run. By Sunday afternoon, I had done almost nothing else. Ms. Walsh is an unparalleled storyteller, with a story that drives you forward and characters you feel you know. Venn Connell, our protagonist, is an accomplished assassin, with a fascinating backstory. This is the first book of a series. You will need to keep reading to know where the story goes. But You Will Want To READ THIS BOOK.

Oh. My. Gosh! If you want action and emotion and straight up confusion then read this novel! You don't Have to read the Meratis trilogy before hand but I believe it makes the characters so much richer. There is so much story packed into this book, I never wanted to stop reading.
