Quit at 65% This is boring!
The meet up is good, but then Mikhail the older powerful politician/pakhan acts like a lovesick puppy; with some humiliation kink thrown in. Everyone seems taken with Taylor. Even murder does put her off. I really don't care enough to continue.

Talk about a man with a complicated résumé. 😂
I really liked Taylor because she's independent and isn't easily intimidated by Mikhail, which is saying something considering this is a man who seems to believe giving an order should automatically end the conversation.
Mikhail is powerful, commanding, possessive, and definitely pushy at times. But honestly, what else would I expect from a man who holds authority in BOTH sides of his life?
He's a politician and a Pakhan.
Of course he thinks everyone should listen to him. 😂
Unfortunately for Mikhail, Taylor didn't get that memo.
One of my favorite things about their dynamic was watching his need to protect and control collide directly with her determination to maintain her independence. Mikhail puts security on Taylor.
Taylor figures out how to evade them.
Sir, you chose the wrong woman if you were looking for unquestioning obedience. 😂
Their age difference is certainly there, but with everything else happening around them, it almost becomes the least complicated part of their relationship.
She's an American student.
He's her boss.
He's the Governor.
He's a Pakhan.
He's possessive enough to put a security detail on her.
His enemies start realizing she matters to him.
And then two little pink lines appear.
Well...
That escalated quickly. 😂
Once Taylor becomes important to Mikhail, his protective instincts go into overdrive. The same possessiveness that can make him incredibly frustrating also becomes much more understandable when his enemies begin circling and Taylor is suddenly caught in the middle of a dangerous world she never expected to enter.
And when Mikhail realizes just how much Taylor means to him?
This man is basically ready to burn everything down before he'll allow someone to hurt her.
THAT is the obsessive Pakhan energy I came for. 🖤
I also really enjoyed how much was happening outside of the romance. There are secrets, threats, political complications, Bratva danger, action, unexpected developments, and important decisions with very real consequences.
The story moves FAST.
Every time I thought things might settle down, something else happened that kept me turning the pages.
But even with all the danger, Liz Archer still gives us lighter moments.
Especially Mikhail's mother. 😂
Apparently it doesn't matter whether your son is an ordinary man or the Governor of Moscow who secretly runs the Bratva.
A mother who wants her boy married, settled, and happy is UNIVERSAL.
I loved those moments because they brought some humor and family warmth into a story filled with powerful men, dangerous enemies, and high stakes.
And then there's Taylor's surprise pregnancy.
Mikhail's response is so completely Mikhail that I had to laugh.
Taylor may have arrived in Moscow believing she would eventually return home, but once Mikhail discovers she's carrying his baby, this man essentially decides:
Absolutely not. You're staying.
Discussion apparently concluded. 😂
Except Taylor still has a mind of her own, and that's exactly why I enjoyed them together.
Cruel Demands gave me a possessive older hero, an independent younger heroine who isn't afraid to challenge him, age-gap tension, workplace complications, surprise pregnancy, danger, action, Bratva politics, and a Pakhan who becomes increasingly obsessed with keeping his woman safe.
Mikhail might be accustomed to making demands, but Taylor makes sure he learns that loving her means dealing with a woman who isn't simply going to follow orders.
Fast-paced, dangerous, entertaining, and incredibly hard to put down, this was another Liz Archer mafia romance that completely delivered for me. 🖤🔥

A thrilling, age-gap, mafia romance like those Liz Archer is accustomed to gift us like few authors can. The story had everything. An intriguing, fast-paced plot full of danger, important decisions with consequences, action, possessiveness that boarder lined obsession and so much more. I liked both Taylor and Mikhail for different reasons – even if Mikhail came as a bit pushy at times (which was to an extent a result accompanied his position; he is both a politician – a Governor – but also a Pakhan. Contradictive much?) Taylor is a student from America who had come to Russia to study. They meet at a bar. The age difference should have mattered but didn’t. A lot of things should have mattered but didn’t, with explosive results weaved through danger and plots that left me turning the pages like a maniac. The bottom line is that age is just a number and true love conquers all. I should also mention Mikhail’s mother (the mother who wants to marry her boy and see him happy above everything else is universal it seems – respect; also, hilarious at times). All in all, a great, thrilling, spicy story worth reading! 4 stars

📚 Book Review: Cruel Demands by Liz Arthur
Cruel Demands by Liz Arthur is an enjoyable mafia romance featuring plenty of drama, tension and romance, along with a significant age-gap relationship. The story was easy to read, and I liked the writing style and overall pacing, particularly at the beginning.
The characters were believable, and I cared about what happened to them as the story progressed. The romance was enjoyable, and I liked seeing how the relationship developed within the dangerous mafia setting. However, I did feel that the story lost its way slightly in the middle, which affected the pacing and made that section feel a little slower than the beginning.
I knew before starting the book that there was a large age gap between the characters, but ultimately, it was a little too significant for my personal preference. That said, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the story overall.
The ending was good and wrapped everything up nicely. Despite a few bumps in the middle, Cruel Demands was an entertaining and easy-to-read mafia romance. I would recommend it to readers, I would definitely read more from Liz Arthur.

Cruel Demands was an intense, addictive read filled with tension, passion, and plenty of emotional drama. The chemistry between the characters kept me turning the pages, especially as their complicated relationship unfolded through demands, secrets, and undeniable attraction.
I loved the darker, more intense atmosphere and the way the characters had to fight through their emotions before finding their way toward each other. There were plenty of twists and moments that had me frustrated, invested, and desperate to see what would happen next.
If you enjoy a romance with possessive characters, high emotional stakes, strong chemistry, and a relationship that doesn’t come easy, Cruel Demands is definitely worth adding to your reading list. A dramatic and entertaining read that kept me hooked until the end!.

Cruel Demands by Liz Archer was a steamy, addictive read filled with danger, tension, and forbidden attraction. I really enjoyed the age-gap romance and the Russian mafia setting, which gave the story an exciting, darker edge. The chemistry between the characters was intense, and I loved the possessive, protective side of the hero. The twists, secrets, and emotional moments kept me turning the pages, while the romance provided plenty of heat. The characters had great chemistry, and their complicated relationship made the story hard to put down. If you enjoy mafia romance, older alpha heroes, forbidden relationships, and plenty of drama and spice, this one is definitely worth adding to your TBR. Overall, Cruel Demands was a fun, steamy romance with danger around every corner!

Consider this me giving you a HUGE WARNING that this 5-star book is on FIRE and Liz did a phenomenal job writing it.
I felt like instantly my mood became a whole lot better as well as my day just being able to sit on my couch and devore this book. Taylor and Mikhail gave me pure entertainment and enjoyment for a few days while I sat turning the kindle pages to see how their story ended.
All I know is that this romance book has lots of hot romance that will heat up a room and melt ice. Surprises and have you falling in total awe over the characters.
I felt like instantly my mood became a whole lot better as well as my day just being able to sit on my couch and devore this book. Taylor and Mikhail gave me pure entertainment and enjoyment for a few days while I sat turning the kindle pages to see how their story ended.

Another thrilling story from Liz Archer that I found almost impossible to put down, she has a wonderful way of keeping you on the edge of your seat and not wanting to put it down because you don't want to miss what will happen next. Dark and dangerous as you would expect from a good mafia romance, it is hot and spicy and they end up with a surprise neither of them expected and he does not plan on letting her go, ever.

Interesting story. Taylor is a student from america who is studing russian and policical science when she gets a job working for the Govenor of Moscow Oblast. The night before she starts work she celebrates and ends up sleeping with the govenor, Mikhail. They try to deny their connection, but then Taylor realizes who he is other than govenor. As Mikhail tries to protect her, the more Taylor fights him. This Book is full of danger, drama, tangled and has a happy ending. I enjoyed this book.

Cruel Demands was a steamy, addictive mafia romance packed with danger, tension, secrets, and undeniable chemistry. I loved the age-gap dynamic, the darker Russian Bratva setting, and Mikhail’s possessive, protective alpha energy. The twists and emotional drama kept me turning the pages, while the complicated relationship between Mikhail and Miss Hayes made this one hard to put down. A fun, dramatic, spicy read with plenty of obsession, danger, and romance!.

You will not want to put this down. You will be burning through the pages, needing to know what will happen next between Taylor and Mikhail. They have wonderful chemistry and keep each other on their toes. Taylor is exactly what Mikhail needs with her strong will, tells it like it is (even if she's scared), and just a caring person all around. I loved, loved their HEA!.

It's a good Pakhan story. I like how much action is in it. There's also quite a bit of spice which is good too. I like how Taylor and Mikhail have really good chemistry from the start. The ending wraps everything up pretty well too.

Not even close to my favorite book by Liz Archer. Taylor & Mikhail’s “Love” Story is complicated with all his Pakhan Duties mixed with the political ones. Taylor is smart until she isn’t. Most of their relationship seemed more
sexual until it wasn’t. I almost DNF the book but decided to finish it. It was just an okay book.

I just love reading anything by Liz and this book was just as great as her other books. The chemistry between the characters is always amazing, you have some drama in the book, some good laughs and the spice is perfect. Can't wait to read more from Liz.

This was a nice little read. MC is definitely tame. Did not need to be this long in my opinion. Story wa very repetitive but good.
She does not flee because of her pregnancy so don’t think it’s of those tropes.

Very good. I love when the MMC is honest with themselves at least about how they feel.
Mikhail was not playing any games when it came to Taylor and I loved every minute of it.
