This is a junior novelization of the film in the same vein as the previous three. So what makes it a "special edition?" It's the only one of the four that's hardcover! It features a lovely embossed-looking, silvery cover with just the movie's logo and "Special Edition Junior Novelization" on it. In terms of presentation, it's quite spiffy for what's little more than a tie-in book for kids to read, almost as if they knew adult collectors would snap it up as well. Which at least did (me). In terms of writing style, David Lewman does a serviceable job. We get some backstory such as the fact ACU leader Hamada is a former SWAT team member, which was pretty cool, but in general it's basically a very simplified version of the movie's story with little in the way of elaboration or extra scenes like most movie novelizations have. However, as a junior novelization, it is this way by design, so I cannot fault Random House or Mr. Lewman. I just hope the movie's success gives us an ''actual'' novelization later on down the line, assuming such books aren't too out of vogue. Either way, a great little book!

I really liked it. I even sort of wished I was in the book. I thought being in the monorail would be fun. But I didn't exactly get the science stuff. I would give it five stars out of five-at the top. The Indominus Rex was so cool--and scary. The hamster ball thingy was really cool too. The raptors were awesome. I liked Blue the best. I didn't like Hoskins. The coolest part was the when the Indominus faced the Tyranosaurus Rex. All the dinosaurs were pretty cool. The scariest part was how the Indominus escaped. This book is my favorite book ever!

I personally wasn't all that into this story as we read it. Yes, it was set for a younger age group and I really appreciate that lol, with my kids being but 6 and 4, yeah, that was great, but the writing style just didn't do it for me. A 3, for my kids had fun with it.

I liked this book very much. Since i watched the movie, i can picture all the scenes just by reading the words, which makes the novel easy to understand. i like how they can describe the dinosaurs fighting so precisly. My favorite dinosaur(s) so far are the T-Rex and Blue: the main raptor. I also like how they can describe how scary and fierce the Indominus Rex is. Overall, the story is very thrilling and full of surprises.

In the book, Jurassic World special edition junior novelization, Dr. John Hammond dreams of a theme park on Isla Nublar where visitors see dinosaurs and finally the real Jurassic world. I thought it was good because it is similar to the film and it is fun reading the entire book. Some parts were a little funnier than others, and it is a special edition because it has 16 new pages of photos and arts for marketing. Some of these photos are not in the film and others are from behind the scenes. I recommend this book because some parts are more detailed than the film, and it has pictures which make it more fun to flip the pages. If you want to see the difference between the book and film version, you have a choice to either read the book or just watch the film. There’s not much difference in terms of plot.

Hi my name is Rafael and have you read a book with adventure or from a movie and you want to read something better. Well look no further because their is a very good book that is called Jurassic world, Better than the movie. The name of the book is called Jurassic world written by Amanda silver and Rick jaffa. The Main characters are Owen an engineer and the alpha from the velociraptors, Chlair a scientist in jurassic world, Grey a little boy who love dinosaur, and the brother Zach who dosen’t care of learning stuff. It takes place on a island named Jurassic world and the conflict is that they are try to stay alive because a 20 feet tall dinosaur is trying to eat them.their lesson in this book is to never create some that is from the past because you will never know what's going to happen if you do. I enjoy this book because it made feel like if i was in the book or if i was one of the character. I will recommend this book to anybody because if i like this the a list of people will two. So Look no further because Jurassic world is here bye.

It had a lot of expanded scenes from the movie so even though it was a decent re-playing of the movie, there was enough new material to make it worth reading.

I read this book with my sons. We loved it. It obviously stayed very true to the movie since it was a novelization. This a fun quick read, it was just like watching the movie all over again.

★4,5

➕️

The quote "These are wild animals. Trust me--you don't want them in the field"(Lewman 26) sums up the main point of the action movie Jurassic world, the movie this is the junior novelization of, which was that life always finds a way and animals shouldn't be messed with. One thing i dislike is that there is no difference between this and the movie plot wise, like how the Indominus rex is still the main antagonist and still gets killed by the Mosasaurus at the end. First, one thing I like about this novelization was the use of different adjectives that actually make me visualize the movie while reading this, such as the use of the word erupted as the Mosasaurus comes out of the water and clamps the jaws down on Indominus. Second, another thing I like about this novelization is the fact that I like the movie and all the events are the same, which is boring, but nice at the same time, I feel the same as I did while watching the movie. Third, another thing i like about the novelization is how there is dinosaurs in it such as the velociraptor, tyrannosaurs, and apatosaurs. Finally, one thing I like about the novelization was the use of the hybrid indominus rex, they include every detail such as the Indominus killing apatosaurus for sport, chasing two teens off a cliff until they jump off into water.

Not the worst book I’ve ever read, but I kinda thought it was a waste of time, since I already watched the movie. I’m a die hard fan of the movie, and I just wanted to give the middle grade novel a try since it was on my shelf. The plot line and everything was exact, but the books kinda sounded robotic. I finished it in less than a day because by page 90 I just wanted to finish it. I think this book is better for younger kids who haven’t watched the movie, and don’t get me wrong it’s still action packed. But yes, gonna have to say it’s a 2 star for me, just seemed like something a fan of the movie would buy to keep on their shelve. I love the concept of course, it’s just the writing wasn’t for me-will probably be un-hauling. ~highly recommend the movie though.

My dad got me this when the movie came out, and I became quite the Chris Pratt fan due to his Lego Movie performance (Greatest film of ALL time). So when I got this book, it was all I read. Reading log for elementary school? Only one book read multiple times, had to analyze a book in English? It was this book. I actually enjoyed this book so much I didn't even really care about the pictures inside of it, I know, incredible. Anyway, I feel like this Novelization means more to me than the actual film, except for the Jimmy Buffet cameo.

I think I'm going soft in my old age. I feel really sorry for the dinosaurs, even the Indominus Rex. Human arrogance thinking it is ok to mess with huge predators, then when they get upset at being locked up, poked and prodded and fight back.....the humans blame the animal. Far too common human behaviour, even against other humans. Use animals and people on your terms, then blame them when they stand up for themselves.
Poor dinosaurs! Especially the Raptors.

Got this book for free at the safari park. Bit skeptical as i've never seen any of the Jurassic Park films (I know, i'm terrible) and wasn't really interested. Was an entertaining read, though seems a little traumatic considering it's meant to be for children. Still good though.

For myself as a huge JP fan the book was good, the only thing is that the book was basically word for word of the movie. They left a few parts off that went too crucial. If you did not see the movie and are a fan of the series you should enjoy the book.
