When Dr. Anna Bishop arrives at the remote Edridge Institute, she hopes to leave her past behind. But her first patient, Lucas Quinn, is anything but typical. Found bloodied and catatonic at a brutal murder scene, Lucas is intelligent, dangerously charming... and has no memory of what happened that night.

As a violent storm traps them inside the cliffside asylum, patients vanish, evidence is erased, and Anna begins to suspect the real monster might not be in her therapy chair.

Caught between obsession and betrayal, Anna must is Lucas a broken soul worth saving—or the very reason she should run?

But one truth is undeniable.

Gripping psychological story following Dr Anna Bishop who when she arrives at Edridge Institute and meets her patient Lucas Quinn Anna realises that Lucas sees through her defenses. As Anna talks to Lucas she begins to suspect that the empathy based therapy is being used to erase memory and she starts to remember her past.

This had me hooked from the first page and full of suspense that makes you want to find out if Anna and Lucas can escape and find peace.

Highly recommend.

I read this prequel as an ARC and this is my review. The whole time I read this I kept thinking I kept thinking I had read this, turns out I read the full novel and this was the prequel! Anna Bishop is the new therapist at the Edridge Institute. Her first case, Lucas. Can she help him? The attraction is real, too real and too dangerous. A well=written story. Even as I had read the book this was interesting. But you should read this before the book! Well done. Enjoyed it.

This was book 1 of The Family Curse Connection series. It wasn’t bad but I’ll be honest about there being some parts that were confusing/didn’t make sense to me. At times, I was unsure which character was talking/thinking and that let to more confusion.
