This is the first book that I've read where the woman's weight and race aren't constantly mentioned, kudos to the author for that. I also liked that Max wasn't some hardass or whimp but he handled business when needed too. Max and Christine are great as a couple and Martha is the perfect mediator between them. The story was grammar and error free and a great read. I laughed so many times. Now, here are the problems.
Christine is inseminated with Max's sperm, and gets pregnant. Now the only timelines mentioned are the two weeks she misses her period, six weeks when she tells her family and that's it. A few chapters later the baby is born and spends s few days in NICU. There's no telling how far along Christine was at the birth of her child.
Apparently they move when she's five months pregnant but that isn't mentioned until the end of the book. Also, Max's mom tries to set up Christine but fails when she walks out in her ex, Rudy. Rudy later confirms this to Max. There was never a follow up on this between Max and Claire not any interactions between Claire and Christine, which I found odd considering the situation and Claire's devious nature.
I also was waiting for when Max would find out thatched assistant, Andrea, was the one that leaked Max's condition and his relationship with Christine. This never happened though. It's like the story was told mostly from Christine's pint of view and left out Max. Other characters were here but I though she she have followed up with Claire and Andrea so we could learn more about their plight.the book was longer than ten chapters which is great but it had the potential it easily be more. I gave it three stars because of that. If the author revises it I think it could easily get five starts. I can't believe Claire or Andrea would just stop or give up. Andrea desperately wanted Max and I see her as conniving as Claire, Rudy, Kevin, and Christine's mom.
I enjoyed this book so much...This is the funniest, well written book by this author in my humble opinion. Max and Christine will keep you in stitches throughout this book. These two haphazardly found their way together after knowing each other in a frenemy kind of way...Chris grandma works for billionaire Max whom he regards as a trusted family member....so naturally he turns to grandma for all his major decisions...especially life or death...in this case....potentially leaving him no heirs to carry on the family business..and with a mother like the one he's got...hello no...enters plan b....and the irrepressible Christine....enjoy reading this book.
I enjoyed reading this 📚book. There was no over the top story or sex scenes. It makes it more interesting and believable. It ended to short for me. Important information was missing. Did they deal with both their mothers? Did Max find out that Andrea was the one helping his mother? What happened with the contract they sign and is it still a marriage of convenience? The pairing works well for me. Max became my hero 5s-over when he introduced Rudy to his 👊.
Max has always loved Chris because they was alike and he waited till the time was right. I think he knew the first time they slept together to help her get over her ex. She felt it too but was scared and confused. You knew deep down she cared when she leaped to hospital and stayed with him. I liked it, her gra as she called her was a caring person her family was good. I'm glad her mom got her act together and left the guy alone and I wish she never took the money though that would have shown alot. Unless I miss it and I'm going back did he fire his assistant because she created a lot with his mom coming and stuff. This was a story about love that was always there but it took a illness and a fact that 2 lonely people wanted a child that can give them love but in end realized that they was meant for each other
I always like a good romcom, and this one actually ready very fluent. What I didn’t like, was that a lot of ‘problems’ thrown into the way of this romance, were way to easily solved. What about the jealous colleague and the disapproving mom who try to sabotage the relationship, they just give up without any big confrontation??? The author had some good ideas but didn’t finish each storyline that was started
This story has potential to became a good romance book, but the constant use of course words, "Ebonics" and slang terms was unnecessary. The author used a lot of words that made the story unclear. The relationship between the two main characters seemed rushed. The author needs to find a new editor to help with all the grammatical errors.
I love the story line but i dont like that Christine easily agrees to all Max proposals,at least i was expecting little resistance. i was also looking to see justice done to Andrea( Max PA) and Claire (Max mother) for their betrayals. In all, i still commend the author for the interracial relationship story... i like it. It a 3.5 stars.
Absolutely loved it. Christine and Max’s humor (sarcasm) toward one another was too funny!! To top it off, Martha her grandmother was a piece of work. Firm but fair and very loving. What started off as a convenient situation turned to undeniable chemistry between Max and Christine. Excellent read
I read this in a couple hours. It’s a short, fast read if you want to just get away for a bit. It’s a very plain, simple story but good enough to keep your attention for a bit.
Love love love! I want more... I need more! Tried buying the Meaghan & Dean Triolgy but I am unable to purchase the book 'Until We Meet Again'. It's only available on Kindle, a bit disappointed. Other than that I really thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Excellent book! I hope there is a part 2 to see how Max handles his mother’s meddling. Also, so many storylines to explore in a part 2 how does Andrea end up, do they have more kids, and any crazy ex girlfriends of Max’s?
The story join this book was beautiful written, but what I want to no what happened to his mother and his secretary Is there a book 2 Very disappointed in the ending.
The story was enjoyable and the main characters were charming. I was able to root for the relationship between Christine and Max. Writer didn't provide closure for Claire and Andrea. Missing pieces.
