Perfect for fans of Sawyer Bennett and Toni Aleo, Kelly Jamieson’s charming holiday novella kicks off a brand-new series featuring the hunky hockey stars of the Chicago Aces.

The Christmas season always puts a smile on Jenna McFadden’s face. Even though she’s bringing a boyfriend home for the first time, inside she’s dying to see Andrew. Years ago, when the McFaddens took the troubled teen into their home, Jenna had to keep her blazing-hot crush a secret. And now that he’s playing pro hockey for the NHL’s Chicago Aces, nothing’s changed. With his wide shoulders and taut muscles, Andrew’s the most tempting package in the house . . . one that Jenna’s dying to unwrap.

Andrew Ross just can’t make a play for Jenna. Her dad and brothers wouldn’t approve, and he could never betray the trust of the wonderful people who treated him like family when he lost his own. That’s what makes the holidays so hard. Whether Jenna’s skating with Andrew on a frozen pond or sitting on his lap while he plays Santa, she’s pushing all their boundaries—and there’s only so much a man can take. Andrew knows that she’s off-limits. But something deep down tells him that Jenna’s heart is the one prize he simply has to win.

Andrew and Jenna grew up together when her parents took Andrew after the loss of his parents. For many years they have been hiding their feelings from each other and from every one because Andrew doesn’t want to put his relationship with her family in stake. Until the Christmas when things change and neither of them can’t resist anymore.
If you like sweet and steamy romances, with sexy hockey players and sweet heroines? Well, then you’ll definitely love this short story. A sexy and sweet couple, a low on drama and high on steam quick to read book. The perfect story to spend a good a time.

3 More Than Friends Stars

Off Limits is the second offering from Kelly Jamieson's Aces Hockey series and I have to say I definitely enjoyed it more than book number one. Not saying much considering I DNF'd that one but I digress.

I have a soft spot for friends to lovers romances, especially when the added bonus of the crushing on your brother's best friend angle is thrown in. In theory I should have loved this one. I guess it comes down to the fact there just wasn't anything special about it. Andrew and Jenna were both likeable characters and I got the dilemma they both faced. Andrew was taken in by his best friend's family when he was 16 after his own family tragedy and taking a friendship with best friend's little sis, Jenna to the next level can lead to all kinds of awkward.

Even with both Andrew and Jenna's intense feelings, he still didn't feel comfortable rocking the boat ten years later. And therein lies the issue for me. This "problem" could've been easily fixed by trying that newfangled thing all the kids are trying...talking. I know I know, a totally revolutionary concept but a little would've gone a long way here.

On a solid note, the sexy stuff was fairly hot and the sexual tension between Jenna and Andrew was palpable. I guess it all boils down to the fact I found Off Limits to be a short and pleasant enough read, but it didn't bring enough of the good stuff to get me to really care about the outcome.

Off Limits is an adorably sweet love story that will melt your heart. I loved the characters, especially Andrew, and the story.

Andrew moved in with Jenna's family when he was a teenager, and when he came to live with them Jenna's father took him aside and told him to keep his hands off Jenna. All these years later he is still listening to those words, but it's getting harder and harder to resist the temptation of sweet Jenna.

For years Jenna has avoided Andrew to hide her true feelings. But now that they are both back home for Christmas she's having a difficult time keeping her hands to herself. Jenna thinks Andrew doesn't want her, and Andrew doesn't want to admit his true feeling and risk losing the family that took him in when he needed someone.

Andrew was a professional hockey player but the main focus of the story was him going back home for Christmas so the focus wasn't on the game. I liked that family was a big part of the story and not just his games and practices. I loved Andrew's character and the inner struggle he has from wanted Jenna but also not wanted to lose his family. He was really sweet with Jenna but also so strong and possessive and when he finally takes what he wants, oh boy, it was Hot with a capital H.

I liked how Jenna didn't hold herself back from Andrew once they went into their relationship and there was no second guessing. The relationship moved fast and became serious really soon but it worked with the story since they knew each other for so many years. It's something that usually bothers me, when characters get super serious fast, but in this book it was perfect.

Overall, this was a great romance that was fast to read and get invested in. I liked the characters and the little glimpses of the other characters from the previous book. I can't wait to continue with this series.

We shifted position and lay still joined for a long time, wrapped in each other’s arms. Finally Andrew murmured against my hair. “Jenna.”
“Mmm.”
“So glad you came home for the holidays.”
I smiled drowsily and turned my head so my lips pressed to his chest. “Me too.”

I was feeling rather lazy and moody but this book got me out of that funk immediately and I found myself laughing and giggling and sighing over this story and while there were some things I didn’t like, I absolutely loved the rest of it.

This is the second book, although it’s actually a novella, that I read by Jamieson and this one was my favorite so far. Like I said in my Major Misconduct review, Jamieson’s storytelling is on-point and as it should be for this kind of contemporary romance. I enjoyed the hours I spent reading this story and it only made me need the next one real bad.

description

Let’s go with what I didn’t like first.

• I wasn’t fan of the way Jenna’s boyfriend was portrayed. Jon wasn’t really that bad, to be honest and he was only used as a plot device. I felt sorry for him, he didn’t deserve it. The whole thing just made me wish Jenna had gone to her parents’ house without a boyfriend.

• The epilogue, while kinda cute, was unnecessary and it was obvious the only reason for it was to create expectation towards the next book. And don’t get me wrong, I’m dying to read it but not because of the epilogue, that is.

• And the last thing I didn’t like was all the flirting between Jenna and Andrew while Jon was there. Look, I get that Jenna was in love with Andrew and that she and Jon were only starting a thing but if she wasn’t sure about her feelings for him, she should’ve said no when he suggested to go with her. That way she would’ve been free to flirt and debate and do whatever she wanted with Andrew. So no, that I felt was unfair.

description

Now, leaving that behind, I have to say I loved this book and how it was progressing through the pages.

I absolutely adored Jenna’s family and their wildness and lovable demeanor. I had lots of fun reading about them and their holiday traditions and how they messed with each other and everything about them was just adorable but that part when they were at the bar and Andrew and Jenna’s brothers were talking shit about Jon.

description

Jenna was a likeable character with a great sense of humor and a kind heart. I actually enjoyed reading about her and her love for skating and her fears and goals and how she felt about her family and friends. I would have enjoyed her even more if Jon hadn’t been treated so badly and therefore the way she handled her feelings toward him and Andrew got me on my nerves a few times. I still liked her and related to her struggles at work and with her life. She was, like I said, really kind but she was also selfless and intelligent and quite sexy.

description

“I love you,” I whispered, shocking myself by admitting it out loud.
He didn’t say it back. I knew he wouldn’t.
“It’s okay,” I said, as I had all those years ago. “I understand how much my family means to you. Even back when we’d spent that weekend together, I’d understood that the chances of us being together forever were small.

I admire her for that. Loving Andrew but never being bitter about it.

description

Then we have Andrew, who’s a famous hockey player and has been lusting over Jenna ever since he first saw her years ago. He’s a pretty decent guy who cherishes the family that adopted him when he was a teenager after his life fell apart. Andrew’s a good guy and he’s decent and funny and adorable and has also this vulnerability that makes him even better but I didn’t get to know him as much as Jenna and therefore I didn’t have a solid idea of him until half way through the book.

description

I had very little patience with how he was behaving with Jon and his feelings toward Jenna were quite messy and I got why he was afraid and why he didn’t want to act on his feelings but sometimes it was really frustrating. He needed to level up from day one and stop talking about Jon behind the guy’s back. That was so childish, to be honest.

Leaving that behind, I still enjoyed his character.

It was crazy, but what the hell. In my room, I stripped down to my T-shirt and boxers and then donned the plush red-and-white suit. I added the fake beard and hat, then stuffed a pillow inside the jacket. I looked at myself in the mirror as I adjusted the belt over my new belly. “Ho ho ho.”
Yeah, that was pathetic. Whatever.
“What on earth are you doing?”
“Emily wants a picture of Christopher with Santa.”

I cracked up reading that part. It was way too adorable.

description

Jenna and Andrew worked as a couple, I really liked them. They had this funny back and forth dynamic, product of their teen years together and that was lovely. The sexy scenes, although not that many, were hot and cute at the same time.

description

Now that we know Duncan’s book is the next one, I want to see more of the two established couples play a part, even a small one, in Duncan’s life.

description

Overall I’ve been enjoying the Aces Hockey stories and I wish the next book isn’t the last one but there’s something I’ve noted about Jamieson’s books is that she tends to develop her female characters a bit more than her male characters. I hope she improves that because I always struggle a little with the male mc in her stories.

A delightfully sweet and endearing Christmas + Hockey story about a friendship that formed during adolescence but was off limits to be more. It's about a love that’s been latent for years but now is ready to grow. But first Jenna and Andrew have to put it above all else.

Andrew Ross was never left alone when he lost his family as a teenager. The McFaddens welcomed him with caring, open arms and he’s always appreciated it and been grateful. He would never go against the head of the family’s one decree: that he keep his adolescent hormones away from their only daughter, Jenna. Through the years he’s tried to be her friend, ignore the attraction between them and move on with his life. But it’s a difficult thing to do especially during the holidays when she’s pushing all his buttons. Can an off-limits rule keep him from pursuing Jenna’s heart at the risk of losing the only family he’s got?
“This place and this family were safety to me. In a world where I’d lost everything, I’d found safety and security here. I’d always done whatever was necessary to keep it.”

Jenna McFadden has crushed on her brother’s best friend, Andrew, since she first started noticing boys. But she understood why he kept his distance, especially after he moved in with her family. She’s tried to forge ahead with her life, going as far as moving to New York after college and even trying speed dating, but no man will ever measure up. Now that the holidays have brought them together again, the connection between them is almost palpable and hard to ignore. Can she keep hiding her true feelings for him?
“Our eyes met again and it was so hard to look away. His eyes darkened and his mouth softened and I saw the affection on his face. Affection was all I’d ever get from him.”

Even though this is hockey series, I really liked that this holiday novella revolves around family. A loveable, wacky and unconventional family around which we can jump in and get to know Jenna and Andrew. Two very charming characters whose love was bursting at the seams to blossom.
“I felt a magnetic force pulling me toward her. Had. To. Resist. Must not grab her and ravish her on the kitchen counter.”

Andrew was briefly introduced in Major Misconduct but we only got minor details about him. I really enjoyed getting to know him. I felt so much for all his loss and how that impacted his life in general but mostly his relationship with Jenna. He’s this incredibly successful, sexy but totally down to earth, responsible, caring man who just wants to have a family to belong to. I cheered and swooned over his take charge attitude when he finally decided to get what he wanted.

Jenna was fun, independent and incredibly brave never denying loving Andrew but also trying to live her life knowing in her mind they could never be. That didn’t stop her from skating with him, sitting on his lap while he was dressed as Santa or thinking dirty thoughts while they played Dirty Minds with the family which made for really fun moments during the read.

I really liked how Jamieson wrote Jenna and Andrew’s relationship, which could have felt rushed but didn’t because of all the history they shared and the strong connection they had. It felt natural and right.

Off Limits is standalone novella #1.5 in the Aces Hockey series by Kelly Jamieson. A fast read, full of longing and smexyness with a cheerful white Christmas backdrop. Told from both points of view with a happy ending.

This was more romance with just a chapter or two of hockey. I didn't remember Andrew from the previous book nor did I recognize any of his team mates mention in the hockey chapters. Actually I didn't remember the previous book at all until I went to write this review and saw it was #1.5.

It was a nice romance with hot sex and a touch of hockey. I have no idea who will be next since you don't really meet anyone.

Jenna McFadden hasn't seen Andrew Ross, the boy her family took in when he was 16 years old, in about 2 years. Andrew was her teenage crush and after a weekend in college, they finally acted on their feelings for each other. But the weekend was cut short and guilt settled in with Andrew, and they went their separate ways. Jenna is trying to move on from her feelings, but Christmas at home (and seeing Andrew) tell her that moving on from your first crush isn't always easy.

Andrew has always felt like he betrayed the McFadden's after acting on his desire for Jenna. She was supposed to be off limits to him. Mr. McFadden warned Andrew to stay away from Jenna when they took him in. That doesn't mean that his feelings for her have gone away since their weekend together. He's shocked when Jenna comes home for Christmas with a boyfriend.

Will Andrew be able to move past the fear of disappointing the family that gave him a home or will he let the guilt keep him away from the one person worth

This Aces Hockey novella had the feel of a full length novel. I definitely enjoyed Off Limits more than I did Major Misconduct (Book 1 - review linked above). Can't wait for Duncan's book next!!

*On a side note... I'm not really a fan of the cover. I don't think the model matches the description of Andrew really well (at least for me).

Coming home for Christmas will never be the same. Off Limits is a based on a quirky hockey playing family with lots of love to share.

Jenna is bringing her boyfriend home for Christmas. He isn’t her true love but he means something to her. The only problem…her one true love is Andrew, a teen boy that grew up as one of her brothers and someone she can’t have. He is also coming home for Christmas.

Andrew is a successful hockey player and the one constant in his life has always been the McFadden family. Coming home and meeting Jenna’s new boyfriend ignites all kinds of emotions, but none of them he feels he can explore. He would never risk his only home and family…or will he.

Sometimes you just got to shake things up to ring in that holiday spirit, Off Limits gets those bells ringing.

Off Limits was a quick, fun, entertaining and emotion evoking read.

I received this ARC copy of Off Limits from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication November 17, 2015.

The Good : The old “in love with my brother’s best friend” trope has a bit of twist here - Andrew, a player for the Chicago Aces hockey team, was taken in by his best friend’s family when his father died and his mother was basically useless. He’s grateful for their care and their love and as a consequence, he would never think of getting together with Jenna, his friend Connor’s baby sister Jenna. Except he totally wants to. Jenna has been in love with Andrew forever and a day, but other than one passionate weekend, she thought it would never happen. They both come home to Jenna’s parents’ home for Christmas. Just the family...and Jenna’s boyfriend, Jon. With that setup, I was definitely interested and novella length seemed like the perfect amount of reading for me at the moment.

The Bad : Unfortunately, it didn’t work that well for me. The first book was light and fluffy, but it had some humor. This novella was a bit more on the angsty side than fluffy, which is fine. However, I struggled to connect with Andrew and Jenna. I understood why Andrew was scared of losing the family’s love and support, I understood why Jenna tried to move on with Jon. It was when my emotions should have engaged that I just didn’t, and I was honestly, a bit bored by it. The angst was mild, the boyfriend angle was mild, it was all just mild.

Everything in Between : The writing, while it didn’t engage me, was fine, if flat. The characters were likeable enough. I don’t remember Andrew from first book, doesn’t matter since it’s completely separate story and the first book’s characters really don’t come into play until the end. It would be easy enough to read this without reading the first book.

description
I usually love hockey romances, but this wasn’t clicking for me. The writing wasn’t bad, I think it was just a case of “it’s not you book, it’s my mood.” Overall, It was an okay read, and I would check out the next book in the series.

Off Limits, by Kelly Jamieson, is a charmingly hot novella in a brand new series featuring the hunky hockey stars of the Chicago Aces.
Christmas is Jenna McFadden's favorite holiday. Even though she is bringing home a boyfriend for the first time, all she really wants is to see Andrew again.
Years ago, the McFadden's took troubled teen Andrew into their home with their only rule being that their daughter Jenna was off limits. There was an instant attraction between the two and they avoided each other while living under the same roof.
Returning home for Christmas years later will Andrew be able to resist the temptation of Jenna or risk losing the family that has been everything to him.
I look forward to the next book in this series.

Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC of this novella.

It took me 4 days to read this 100 pages something book. I think this author is definitely not for me. I have read a couple of her books before and her writing still feels “immature”. Like a young girl is telling the story. Also, she fills the pages with unnecessary information, dialogues, interactions that adds nothing to the story. And it’s a short book. It just makes the reading a boring one.
In the end it was a sweet read. But it took too much pages for the hero to realize he really wanted to be with heroine. I understand his hung ups, with not having a family and the heroine’s family took him in as one of their own and he was afraid to lose everyone if things didn’t go well for him and heroine.
But the story lacked emotion and the fillers made it hard to get into the story. The last few chapters were sweet.

All the feels—ALL OF THEM! I felt them all reading this outstanding novella from Kelly Jamieson, one I wish could have been longer so I had more time with Jenna and Andrew, but was 100%, completely satisfied with, nonetheless. I’m just greedy—I’m so in love with this couple, I want to spend forever with them…

Jenna McFadden is completely off limits to Andrew Ross. No matter how much he wants her—and he really, really does—he can’t betray the trust that his almost-family placed in him when they took him in all those years ago. Andrew knows…Jenna’s brothers and father would never approve.

But when a trip home for Christmas results in him coming face-to-face with the woman he craves—towing a new boyfriend behind her, no less—Andrew finds it harder and harder to walk away from her. And Jenna’s not making easy on him either…not when she wants him just as bad.

Gah! I LOVED this charming, emotional and completely perfect little novella. I raced through it, unable to put it down or do anything except read, read, read until the last page. The alternating POVs were perfect for capturing the mutual desire Andrew and Jenna felt—and for explaining why they couldn’t be together, despite all that desire. *Sigh*

The family aspect of this novella was lovely also. The connection the McFadden’s shared was palpable, not just for Jenna but also for Andrew, who’d lost so much and been welcomed into the fold in his teens. The way Ms. Jamieson included him, while still showing his concerns about being other, was spot-on and argh, gave my heart a little beating as it ached for Jenna and Andrew could and should have had.

The banter was golden, the moments with his team were fun and enough to make me more than a little desperate for the next book in this series, and the whole book a well-rounded, well-paced and much loved gem. When I say all the feels, I do mean all of them—even the ones that made me well up more than a little… When is Duncan’s book coming out? ~ Beth, 5 stars

*May contain Spoiler*
Off Limits is a holiday novella that pretty much got me reading the Aces Hockey series. After my experience with heroine of Major Misconduct I admit to be a bit wary to start. Fortunately, the characters here didn’t get to my nerves. Much.

I put the yea and nay of this book into three categories, plus a couple of loose points.

Mr. Wrong VS Mr. Right
Mr. Wrong didn't have to be totally wrong. I liked it better when the choices were between two different, yet both great characters. At least to catch the heroine's attention, they had to have something. Right?

The way I saw it here, there's nothing impressive in Jon's bones that I'd wail "why I was even put to life on this book" if I were him. I mean, c'mon! Jenna must have been pretty desperate and stupid to go steady with him if he was a total asshat! I wouldn't even start on Jon's list of disagreeable attitudes, which - frankly speaking - was NOT TOTALLY his faults!

As the majority would agree, Andrew was the Mr. Right in this tale. He's far bigger, stronger, taller than Jon. Well, according to Jenna's thought.

I'm not taking Jon's side. I just thought it would be even better dilemma and story line if he's described in a better light somehow. Other than put there just to make Andrew looked a lot better.

Friends to Lovers
Andrew had been taken in by Jenna's family and raised alongside the McFadden siblings. They crossed the "brother/sister" bridge in college in a moment of madness, then drifted apart.

Okay, I saw the chemistry between these two. I think the whole family noticed that, too. Even poor Jon. I respected Andrew for his restrains and Jenna for her understanding. I guess this was the benefit of falling for someone who knew each other so well.

I also liked Andrew's quick action when realizing he'd done something terrible, and the feeling he didn't grovel enough but so lucky to simply be understood and forgiven.

What I don't like? The flashback moments to be described fully on both MC's POVs. IMHO, they could've been shortened or summarized; being mostly graphic sex scenes! It felt disruptive somehow.

Imperfect Family was the Perfect Family
The McFadden was not the usual storybook family where the mother was an excellent cook and welcoming everybody home with home-made whatever. Everybody pitched in (if they wanted to have decent meal). THIS felt real.
Plus the siblings and parental love this small clan had for each other.

But what I loved about the Senior McFadden? They didn't meddle in their child's affairs; a gentle push here and there but never meddle or take sides.

Although part of the series, this novella could be read as a standalone. The hockey team only showed up late in the story. And there was (of course) a scene with Lovey, though nothing upsetting (thank gads).

The epilogue might have something to do with Duncan's story which would be up next, sometime in April next year. I'm curious to read story about Lovey's brother, but we'll see...

Kelly Jamieson… I’m going to tell you right now people, I would walk over hot coals to get to this woman’s books and Off Limits is no exception to that. Off Limits is a novella in the Ace’s Hockey series, that falls between the first and second books. I’m not typically a Christmas book person, but I stopped in my tracks for this one. It’s a second chance romance/friends to lovers which is my weakness. Add in the author? Stick a fork in me, I am done, give me the book!

If you read the synopsis, it covers the books contents exceedingly well. I’ll go ahead and answer the questions I get from most people however. It is a full length novella, but it reads like a book. I didn’t feel as if I was reading a novella at all. There is more than enough content in the book to make it seem that way. It can be read as a standalone, it does have an HEA and there is no cliffy. Off Limits falls nicely into the gap of giving you great material to hold you over until the next book. I loved finding out more about one of the Ace’s Hockey players, personally.

The chemistry between the two main characters is off of the charts. The plot isn’t super intense, but it is angst-y to an extent. For me, that made it even more enjoyable. I put off writing this review for awhile, why, you might ask. Well, because I read the book two more times! I liked it that much! It is a great story, with a fun plot. One I would fully recommend.

Five very happy hockey hearts from me!

3 stars... This is a cute novella, and the author did a good job of developing the relationship between the hero & heroine given the shorter length.

This book is a second chance romance for the hero & heroine... he is also her older brother’s best friend & an unofficially adopted member of her family. I have a hard time with second chance romances because inevitably they both have missed out on years together (which makes me sad) and they have both had multiple other partners (at least in this one she wasn’t celibate waiting for him, thank god). Still, given my general dislike for the trope, I thought the author did a really good job of writing this story. In many ways, even I understood why they didn’t get together earlier. I think this is a good second chance romance story for those who like the trope.

Probably safe for most; The story starts with her in a relationship, but they are not intimate at all in the book & they break up before anything happens with the hero. H&h had sex in college & then parted, both had other partners during their separation (he was living the manwhore lifestyle prior to the story). Hero lost his brother & mother and was abandoned by his father (off page in the past).

Wow! Such a sweet --fall for my best friend’s little sister romance. I wish I was reading it over the winter, but was happy to dream about the holidays along with the characters in the book. Worth a re-read when the holidays do roll around.

This is the second book in the Chicago Aces Hockey series. I am really liking the set up and premise that the author has going on with this group of athletes. This book follows Andrew, a player for the Aces, as he heads home to be with his adopted family for Christmas. The family took him in when he lost his biological family as a young teen. Jenna is the youngest and only daughter in the family. They have some history but called everything off because of the guilt and potential taboo elements to their relationship.

Years have passed and Jenna has avoided spending time with Andrew because she is still in love with him. The family dynamics had me giggling. So many familiar elements when extended families get together, the reader can’t help but get caught up in the story. Jenna and Andrew share heated looks and knock the sexual chemistry chart right off the wall. It was a joy to see two people not only comfortable in their skin but so relaxed with each other, their relationship seemed effortless. They were destined to be. Enjoy this Christmas season read and get to know the Hockey team from Chicago. Looking forward to the next title from this author!

2.5 - 3 stars

It was quite good but way too sugary for my liking.

I didn't know it was a xmas novella tbh when I picked it up.
I am no fan of xmas novellas.
Waaaaay too much description of christmasy stuff and not enough interactions between the hero and heroine to make the romance more believable.

Plus, I wasn't really fond of the heroine and I'm not exactly sure why but I think she was too bland for me.

And technically we have it all here, all the things I love but I just couldn't connect with the heroine and the book just didn't click for me.

But I blame the christmasy sugary stuff that almost lulled me to sleep.

Off Limits is the perfect Christmas novella featuring Chicago Aces Hockey Hottie Andrew Ross. It's Christmas time at the McFaddens house as the family comes together for the holidays. Andrew Ross went to live with the the McFaddens (his best friend's Conner's family), when he was a teen and his own family fell apart. They took him in as one of their own and he has remained just that since that time. There is just one little problem, and her name is Jenna McFadden. Andrew has a really hard time thinking of Jenna in a sisterly fashion. This year, for the first time, Jenna brings home a boyfriend for Christmas, secretly hoping that this will change the feelings she has always had for Andrew as well, which are far from brotherly. Unfortunately, this doesn't work and the chemistry that has always been there is still just as strong as ever, even though she has tried avoiding Andrew for the past couple of years. Andrew finds he just can't stand Mr. New Boyfriend either. Needless to say the stage is set for an interesting holiday as things are put into play regarding and revealing what's in store for Andrew and Jenna in the future.

Off Limits is a wonderful novella that is short, sexy, romantic, and just a fun holiday read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait for more of this series. Definitely check this one out.

4 Star Review of Off Limits (Aces Hockey #1.5) by Kelly Jamieson

What's not to love? It's the most magical time of the year and also happens to be my most favourite holiday. I love the Christmas season and getting to read a Christmas novella by Kelly Jamieson seems to me to be a win.

This is the story of Andrew Ross a Chicago Aces ice hockey player and Jenna McFadden. When Andrew was a teen in trouble the McFadden family rook him in and he will be eternally grateful. Jenna has had a crush on him for years. To Andrew he cannot betray the trust that the McFadden’s placed in him by making a play for Jenna. It’s a shame Jenna doesn’t agree, and despite the fact she has finally brought a man home to share her family Christmas, it becomes obvious that her heart belongs to Andrew.

Andrew and Jenna have a deep connection. Will they finally get together and admit their love?

I look forward to reading more in this series….

I was given this book through NetGalley for a honest review
Andrew is a Ice Hockey Player for the Chicago Aces and is going home for Christmas to the family who took him in when his parents left him at aged 14.
Jenna is also coming home for Christmas but she is bringing her current boyfriend with her. Will her family except her accountant boyfriend after all they all played Ice Hockey at different levels.......
Andrew has loved Jenna since he met her all those years ago and Jenna has loved him since one night in college when they hooked up and things got out of hand .... But Jenna's father warned him to stay away from her when they took him in .........
Andrew and Jenna are perfect for each other and this is a perfect Christmas Novella with a family that love being together and go Ice Skating and on Sleigh Rides together. Romantic and sexy
Looking forward to the next book

Kelly Jamieson is quickly becoming a go-to author for me. This is the second book I've read in her Aces Hockey Series. I'm not going to lie. I like sports for the most part, but grew up in FL where hockey barely exists. So it's not normally the first sport I'd pick to read about, but the hockey gibber gabber doesn't take away from these stories. The Heroines in these books are fun and sexy. And the GUYS?!?? Well, they sure know how to make a girl blush :) I look forward to the next book in the series...which I think will be about Army...but it's not coming out until next year.

Until then I'll be waiting with my Chicago Aces Jersey on...and maybe nothing else ;)

There are times Andrew may be in a hurry but he still stops and asks his woman of she wants to do things, “want inside you now.” His hand slapped out to find the condom. I had no idea where it was, and looked around in the dark. Finally I spied it and stretched to grab it. “You want to put it on me?” His voice was low and hoarse." Andrew does not mess around with sleeping arrangements he lets his woman know what's what, “yep. I mean, I get that this might be a shock for them. But you’re mine, Jenna baby. You sleep with me. Not alone.” I liked this book I find hockey players very sexy so I'm always up for reading a book with them starring in a lead role.

ARC provided by the publisher in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!

Yes, Yes, Hell yes! I am completely enchanted with this series thus far. I cannot freaking wait for what’s to come.

Andrew and Jenna’s story was just at as titillating as Marc & Lovely’s. The ongoing theme (so far) with this series is wanting, lusting, loving the person who you’re not supposed to have – forbidden. Raw. Raunchy and downright amazing.

Looking forward to more. I hope all the guys of the Aces get their HEA!

You know who loves a second chance romance more than anything? THIS girl. I won't lie, I was sort of all over everything in this set up.

Being home for the holidays is always fun, but when you mix in some unrequited love, it's even better. Jamieson put some awesome things in this story, that totally sweetened the ship for me. Once I learned the whole truth, I needed Andrew and Jenna together immediately.

Fantastic hero, fabulous heroine, second chance romance -- Loved it!

Loved it. I’ve only read a few books by this author (I’ve re-read the Rule of Three trilogy several times) but she has never disappointed me. The angsty will they/won’t they path that Jenna and Andrew traveled was just heartbreaking enough to make you cheer for them but not be overwhelmed. I have to go back and read Marc and Lovey’s book later.

This was crazy cute. And not overly Christmassy but it did put me in the mood for the upcoming holiday season! Also, my gosh.... that cover model, yummmm <3

I don't normally read novellas, but after reading this... I'll definitely be more open minded about them.
