Ohhhh! And the plot thickens with the arrival of Sara and Ivan, on the run, looking for safety. When Joe volunteers to find out just what’s going on with a stray shifter and her cub, he knows deep in his heart that she will change his life forever. Joe is not “just a human”. He has inherited his grandfather’s special talents as he speaks and listens to the forest around him, with his native American background. His intuition is telling him that this lone shifter needs him, in more ways than one. Only question is…will she let him help? Sara is on the run, fighting for her life and that of her young son, Ivan. She knows they should have moved on from Bear Canyon Valley a while ago, but her bear is reluctant to leave, knowing that Joe is their fated mate. But her human side refuses to put him in danger, and she’s convinced that if she doesn’t leave, danger will find him and the rest of her new friends. There’s no way she could possibly live with herself if she unwittingly brought the danger following her to them. But her bear wants to stay. Is there any way to do that and truly stay safe, and keep her new “family” safe? Or will those she’s running from finally catch up with her? Lots of intrigue and action, and once again, another wonderful love story in amongst it all, one more great episode of the ongoing saga of the Bear Canyon Valley shifters.

I purchased Temptation as part of the Shifters Forever anthology.
Joe is a non-shifter that lives in Bear Valley where most of his friends are shifters and he works as foreman to the Alpha of the group, his life-long friend Grant. A female bear shifter and her cub are staying in Bear Valley and Joe is given the task to get the situation contained. When he meets and gets to know Sara and Ivan, (the Terrible) her son things get complicated with their mutual attraction to each other.
Sara is on the run and hiding from something but will not share her fears with Joe. The romance takes a turn for the hot after she recovers from being shot with arrows and Joe saves her and Ivan. Temptation is full of hot female bear shifter love for Joe and the bonus of having Ivan add to the relationship makes this a sweet story.

This novella is all about Joe and Sara. Joe is the right hand man for basically all the shifter families in Bear Canyon Valley. Sara is a drifter running from problems with her and her son, Ivan.
I really enjoyed this one. I am so happy that Joe found the one that makes his pulse speed up. He's minded his own business throughout all of these novellas until Sara pops in and he can't look the other way. Sara was great too. Such a protective Mama bear to little Ivan. They make such a great little family.
Plus, this is the first one that Ms. Matchmaker, Mae didn't get into. However, I see the last novella is about Mae and this one excites Me!

The series requires extensive labor. For starters, these books lack flavor; they read like one of those awful plays, with excessive use of analogies to describe scenarios that never stay the same. The lab's claim that they "have people all over the continent" overlooks the fact that previous users were unaware of it. The child who never changed but can walk, talk, and eat with perfection. Both this book and the one before it discuss rape. The shifters who are inquiring without taking care of their own affairs ask too many questions. The Native Americans use although they had little historical context...

Joe has lived among shifters for years. His best friend Grant is a shifter. Joe has been in charge of seeking out the mama bear and baby bear living in the forest. Sara and Ivan stay on bear form in order to stay hidden. But Joe has other plans. It was a great story. I loved thr characters. Ivan is probably my favorite in this book. He is too cute.

A single shifter mom trying to keep her son safe had taken shelter in Shifter Valley, however the other shifters were wary of strange shifters and Joe was sent to check out the woman.
Off course, the inevitable attraction occurs, and whole lot of trouble.

The series finally starts to pick up! Main couple seem to have a little more depth to them. I'd like to see more but this book was a vast improvement to books 1 and 2.

An unexpected twist—Temptation gives us a heroine who’s also a bear shifter, and it totally works. The territorial tension between Joe and the new shifter on the block makes for some snarly, steamy fun. Their slow shift from suspicion to something softer gave the story a lovely warmth underneath all the sizzle.

The mamma bear was trying Joe’s patience. And Joe had a lot of patience. He’d put food out for the shifter mother and her child. He spoke to her but she has refused to reply… until today. She’s protective of her son, she’s on the run from people who are truly evil and she trusts no one. She has good reason to feel that way.
There is evil lurking in the forests surrounding Bear Canyon Valley. Joe trusts the instincts that his heritage has passed down to him, along with his sniper training and living among shifters for so many years. He doesn’t understand what has terrified Sara so much that she refused to take refuge with the other shifters in the area.. hell, she won’t even shelter with him and he knows as well as she does that they are mates.
When Sara is wounded and Joe must take her and her son back to his home in order to save her life, he has no true understanding of the evil that will descend upon his community in search of Sara and her child. But he will, and soon.
Sara’s instinct is to run. Joe’s is to stand and protect. As their emotions wage a war and passion sets their lives on a path that has only one outcome, Joe and Sara must make choices and hope that they are the right ones.
Temptation was a very intense story. Evil has been introduced into the community and every person who calls this sanctuary home must fight to protect what they have here. I like Joe. I enjoyed this story and can't wait to read about them going to Crossroads.
But if the kid never shifted to human before, how does he know how to walk and talk right away? still have to keep it a tad realistic

Temptation book 5 of the Shifters Forever series by Elle Thorne. It tells the story of Bear shifter Sara and Joe Dark a Native American human.
Sara is on the run with her son Ivan. She has been made to suffer by humans and has been on the run for years from the people that hurt her. Sara is determined to not let them find them again. Joe come upon her in the woods hurt and takes care of her. Giving her food and friendship. Sara however is untrusting and it takes a couple of times bringing food for her to even approach him. But with kindness and patience, Joe shows her that she and her son Ivan can have a place of belonging and protection in Bear canyon valley.
I loved the interactions between Joe, Sara and Ivan. I found it funny that the snippier she got the more interested Joe became. Sara and Joe had intense hot chemistry. Joe is so sweet and tender with her. It just touches your heart. I loved this book. The story and characters are wonderfully thought out. The only thing I would have liked changed would be to have more background on both Joe and Sara.
I highly recommend this book and series!!!

Another visit to Bear Canyon Valley that will touch your heart. I think this is the first story that did not involve any matchmaking by Mae. Joe has been taking care of the female bear shifter and her cub that had wondered into the territory. He is drawn to them and is not sure why. Sara is running from her past, protecting her cub is the most important thing to her but the human male Joe intrigues her. Trouble is coming and it wants Sara back however, Bear Canyon Valley does not give up one of their own. I loved the interactions between Joe and Sara, the more attitude she displayed the more intrigued he became. The inner dialog with Sara and her bear was amusing and had me questioning her lack of shifter knowledge and how she was raised. Ivan was an adorable child in both forms and quickly wins your heart. Joe was the greatest surprise, he has been mentioned before but not much detail was given beside he was human. Lots of interesting things were revealed in this story and Joe quickly became on of my favorite people. Another winner in this great series, I can't wait to see what happens next.

I had enjoyed the glimpses of Joe throughout the other books and was excited to see he was getting a story of his own. Joe always seemed to know what to say and do to help the others in the past so it was great to see him find some happiness of his own. Sara was an unknown. She was slow to share anything with Joe and very slow to trust him. Once she began to trust him with herself and Ivan it was fun to see what they could become together. I was glad to see that Sara could reach out beyond her past experience in order to get the life she deserved. It was a sweet story with a little bit of twists and turns along the way.
