Fate's Betrayal

Rate this book
Desire and despise. Two insanely contradicting emotions that the dark haired, well-built, irrefutably handsome musician Riley evokes in simple but attractive, fashion savvy, Austinite Brooke. Initially unequivocally turned-off by the brash but striking Riley she develops a fascination for his seductive charms as Riley reels Brooke into a world of ravenous love she never knew existed.

What they create together is oh-so-much more than beautiful music. It’s a roller coaster ride of awe-inspiring and heartbreaking emotion, passion, hidden secrets and an ending that will leave you utterly breathless. The way they become eternally bound sets the heart afire when fate unleashes the ultimate betrayal.

Fate’s Betrayal is a tough book to review. It starts out hopeful, and touching, with Riley and Brooke meeting each other – a meeting that doesn’t go over so well – and slowly developing an attraction toward each other. Brooke has an illness that troubles her, and Riley cares so much for her throughout all that. They really introduce each other to another world, and they’re there for each other when they need to be.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers but the end just about killed me. And while I enjoyed the book immensly, it was crushing at the same time. I experienced so many different emotions while reading! And while that shows it’s a great book, it might not be for everyone.

This is heart-warming but also devastating, and very well written. If you want romance that is atypical and stands out from the others, I would definitely recommend this book.

A wonderful heartfelt book. Enjoyed reading it. This book has a lot of emotions to go with it. The ending was crushing but that's what makes it a great book. Brooke's and Riley's story is a great story indeed but will having crying in some way. You can't have the good without the bad. A must read book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book started out the way you would expect any romance to. Brooke is a teacher with heart condition, and when she meets Riley, a music teacher and lead singer in a band, they have a relationship that dreams are made of. At least, Brooke has something to meld her heart and keep her going, and Riley is a man who loves her despite it. As their relationship evolves, there really is nothing that you as a reader think could keep them apart. But as Riley gains an opportunity to advance his music career, it puts a damper on their relationship and they have to figure out how their relationship will evolve.

This book had all the feels involved as I read. I was laughing with the characters, cried tears of happiness and sorry, and thought of hope. Without giving away any spoilers, this book was not exactly what I expected, and I am not exactly sure if I am glad or sad about it. While the ending did seem a tad rushed, the rest of the book was a roller coaster of emotions. I'm still not sure of how I feel about the ending (I think I still haven't fully processed it) however this book was bittersweet and captured my attention the whole time reading.

>Book Review – Fate’s Betrayal –

> This book is a standalone novel guaranteed to make you ugly cry.

>This story follows the relationship progression of musician, Riley and teacher, Brooke. Their first meeting is horrid. The next time they meet, feelings change. The hair trigger for their relationship is Brooke’s serious heart condition. She is babied and pampered by Riley and her friends for her inability to stay up late or do too much physical excursion.

>The most touching part of the story is recurring. Brooke has the same dream involving her deceased father and a bridge. I liked the idea of a loved one communicating through a dream. The early dates that Riley and Brooke go on are so cute and thoughtful. Nothing is sexier to me than a man with manners. Every time he held open her car door, I swooned.

>I can’t really say much more without spoiling the story. I can only say that this story will stay with you for a very long time.

>I am a reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. This book is for an adult audience.

****Nic's Review****

I was given a complimentary book for an honest review.

After reading the synopsis I was definitely intrigued to see what this story had in store for its readers. It was a beautiful love story. However, this love story is not like it seems. There are obstacles and secrets these two must journey through. This story is most certainly a roller coaster of awe- inspiring emotions. So much heartbreaking emotions due to fate's ultimate betrayal. I was able to connect with Brooke and her emotions in this story. Riley was a man you automatically fell in love with. They are the perfect couple. They have so much going for them. This is a story I would recommend to others. I have so much to say but I am afraid I would give away to much of the story. I will say this. Make sure you have a box of Kleenex next to you. You will need it. I give this story a 4.5 star rating.

The characters were good, memorable, and I liked the story progression. I think the choices Beth Ann Stifflemire made regarding pacing and plot structure were very smart. My one critique, however, is the title. I understand why she chose to name the story what she did, but I didn't think it fit well with the overall tone of the story.

I liked the book. However, it was a little too tragic for my tastes. This book was a prize book from goodreads. It took me outside my feel good comfort zone after reading this book. It seemed to be a little bit of a why me book?

This story plodded on steadily for most of the book and I'm thinking to myself it's good but somethings missing when BAM! Holy smoke the last 15% of the book is an emotional roller coaster. Get your tissues ready and enjoy the ride.

Fate’s Betrayal is a love story which actually is pretty good. It has parts that get pretty steamy and a little rough language. I did mark it down because of this. I am not into sexual explicit text. However it does tell a good story.
