After reading Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston her senior year of high school and multiple Nicholas Sparks’ novels, she found a hidden love and appreciation for reading.

When Casey isn’t writing, you can find her listening to country music, spending the day at the lake, being a wife and dance mom, and spending time with friends and family.

I did not finish this one, I tried 3 different times to get into this book and it just is not working for me. NO fault of the author at all it is totally just me. For some reason I just could not connect with this book.

In simple words it's a testimony of a healing girl, finding a way to confront her fears, sticking with reliable and trusted choices, rather than winding up hurt.

As nice and exciting as some options can be, there are always consequences for being young, wild and reckless.
Living life to its fullest, making mistakes, having fun.
That's what Charley got to find out when getting involved with Dylan, the bad boy of the Dixon High Swim team, than with man candy Joe, after leaving her old life and good spirited, lifelong friend Cash behind.

Why is that? A few months before graduation she gets a feeling she needs to finish out her senior year on her own, to redefine herself without a guy in her life, so she breaks it off with Cash... and goes straight into the lion's den. But who is the real lion and who is just a pawn?

Story with potential although little frustrating, lots of drama and typical for NA angst.

The summer after graduation, Charley has to make some decisions – does she stick with her original decision to go to college close to home or is this her chance to get away from the small town farm life and figure out who she is? She’s scared her parents will hate her if she doesn’t go where they expect her to, but her mom only wants her daughter to be happy. So at the last minute, Charley and her mom visit some schools, and of course options are limited. A couple weeks later, Charley is packing up to head to Southern College!

Her first day at Southern, Charley makes some new friends that she knows will play a huge role in her college experience. She also meets Joe – the HOT blonde surfer boy with the bluest eyes you’ve ever seen. She feels an attraction to him immediately but she’s learned the hard way that the hot, popular, bad boy isn’t the kind of guy she needs. And she also feels guilty because she knows Cash is at home waiting for her.

Cash has lived on the farm next door to Charley’s for as long as she can remember and he’s just a good ol’ sexy country boy. He’s made sure Charley knows he’s there for her whenever she’s ready, but she feels she needs to live a little while at school. Will she open herself up to Joe and give him a chance, leave her past behind? Or will she stick with Cash because he’s the only one who truly knows her and has always been there for her, especially through the hardest time in her life? Can she ever really get away from the past or will it continue to haunt her?

I loved this book so much and Charley should be my best friend! She’s your genuine home-grown country girl – she loves fishing, hunting, working on her family’s farm, and she’s not afraid to get dirty, but she also loves to dress up and go have some fun. She’s real and doesn't change for anybody. I’m from the country myself and I can totally relate to the characters in this book, as well as Hank’s Tavern and Turtle’s Pool Hall, and I love me some Choice Cherry Gold! No Turning Back is an awesome debut novel from the even more awesome Casey Peeler and I’m looking forward to seeing her grow as an author. And I need to know what happens with Charley, like NOW…Finding Charley to be released in the Spring of 2014 but I can’t wait that long!

I was very lucky to receive an ARC of Casey Peeler's debut novel.

I absolutely LOVED this book! Casey did a fantastic job at creating strong characters that are put through very believable situations.
In the beginning we meet Charley. She is a country girl who loves her small town. While in high school, Charley is put through a horrific event involving her "bad boy" boyfriend after a party one night. Her best friend since they were able to walk, Cash, finds her in a position that has him wanting to kill her now ex boyfriend. As she tries to move on and get over her past and continue out high school, her and Cash become more than friends. But before she graduates she breaks it off, she feels she needs to finish out her senior year on her own. She wants to find who she is without a guy in her life.

She is conflicted to stay close to home and attend LRC where both of her parents attended college or go off on her own. Three weeks before classes start she decides she wants to go to the small college Southern University where she meets Joe. Joe is sexy as hell. Blue eyes, blonde hair, looks like he belongs on a beach somewhere with a surf board. She feels instantly attracted to him and they become close as they work on a school project together.

I don't want to give any spoilers away. But I will say that I fell for both Cash and Joe. Cash is the perfect country boy that works hard and values Charley. He is always there for her, and will love her no matter what. Joe is equally as charming, caring and he wants all of her attention.

This book had me asking "What the hell just happened?" at the end. I literally had to take a minute to collect my thoughts. I did not see that coming. Bravo to Casey Peeler! No Turning Back is a perfect debut novel. I cannot wait for book two.

I don't know why really but this book pissed me off... It's always the same stuff and every once in awhile something would happen. Cool they drank every weekend, had practice every morning and went to the same places every weekend. I found myself just skimming pages because I was bored.... Like I was saying earlier charley comes off as bit of a slut.... Yeah she doesn't have sex with a different guy every night but she did hook up with two different guys at the same time for months... Gross. And again no two sain guys would be fine with it and become friends. LOL!!! Anyways not the best book but like usual it was free so why not. Oh! The ending was awful! We wait the whole book to find out who was helping Dylan and finally when we find out the book ends.. Nice cliff hanger! This books drags on a lot and doesn't have much excitement in it. Two stars.

No you did NOT just leave me hanging like that!!!! I hate you..no, really I do! Spring 2014, SERIOUSLY?!! UGH!!!
It wasn't love at first chapter for me..took me a minute, but when I got sucked in, I was all in!! I loved the home town references..you know I love me some Jesus store! I won't say much more, because I don't want to spoil it for anybody who hasn't read it yet, but I do recommend you download & get to reading! Oh & for the record, I am Team Cash Money all the way, from 1st chapter til now!! Now, come on Spring 2014!!

Reading this book was like trying to march my way through a field of wet, squishy clay. It seemed that no matter how fast I read, this book remained slow. God, so slow…

Charley is finally in college after a hellish time in high school. She was drugged and raped in her last year of high school. She has a kind-of boyfriend who is a typical country cowboy, and also another kind-of boyfriend who is apparently super hot. She goes to college and goes to class, parties, and swims.

Now, you might look at my above synopsis and chastise me for doing such a half-assed job, but that’s all there really is in this book. We seriously follow Charley as she goes to random swim practise, and goes to the same club every Saturday night. These events weren’t really described in detail. If they were described in more detail, had some variation, or was actually relevant to the plot, then reading about all those events might be bearable.

But it wasn’t.

Imagine if I wrote like this:

I woke up at eight o’clock for swim practice. Coach was really hard on us today. I check my time at the end of the lap. I get changed and go back to my dorm. I need to get ready to go to Hank’s today. I throw on a sparkly top, some jeans, and some wedges, and then I meet my friends at the Love machine. I drink some of Caroline’s PJ and pile into the van. Joe sits next to me.

Are you bored yet? Well, if not, then I commend you on your resistance to such boring writing. Charley goes through the same things over and over again. Yes, this is realistic for a college student as they tend to have schedules and routines, but this really should have been condensed down or should have actually had some relevance to the story.

Charley was alright. She was a rather flat character at times, and seemed to go through random obsessions throughout the book. She drinks Cherry Choice Golds (I have no idea what that is), loves country boys, and seems to go crazy whenever bacon is mentioned for a brief period in the novel. Not only were the random mentions of these things annoying and irrelevant, they were inconsistent. She mentions bacon around 8 times within 50 pages, but no mention in the rest of the book.

Cash was perhaps even flatter than Charley. He’s a really hot country boy, and really cares for Charley. That’s it. Of course, he’s also willing to make out with her whenever she wants.

Joe was really annoying. I rolled my eyes the first time he was introduced (Charley pretty much notices him as one of the super hot guys with chiselled abs), and didn’t really stop for a while after. He kind of hangs out around Charley, even though they’re not an official couple. Also, he lets Charley make out with him whenever she wants.

Charley, Cash, and Joe are involved in the most unrealistic relationship ever. Charley just toys around with both of them openly. I’m surprised that these two super-hot boys didn’t have a single problem with it. Not even Cash, who obviously loves her a lot. The kissing scenes were boring and way too common to be interesting. I seriously wondered why those two boys were letting Charley do this to them. Cash and Joe even become FRIENDS.

There are at least twenty minor characters, all that I did not give a single shit about. Each and every one was glossed over quickly and then appeared at random times throughout the book, mostly staying silent and doing nothing. How the hell was I supposed to remember so many insignificant characters?

The incorporation of Charley’s rape was also done poorly. Now, I understand the effects that being raped can have on someone: depression, fear, isolation, etc. It is a very frightening experience and can have many negative effects on someone. Apparently Charley was emotionally scarred from her experience, but I really didn’t see it.
Charley would be completely fine. She’s be hanging out with all her amazing friends, making out with Joe, and partying, and then she’s suddenly bring up how her rape is still affecting her whole life. She seemed absolutely fine! She’d be happy and carefree and then she’d be like: “Oh, I can’t swim anymore because Dylan raped me :(.” It was a little jarring to be reminded about Charley’s rape at such random moments. Also, this is a classic example of an author telling its readers something instead of showing them. If Charley was still affected by this, then the author should have shown us through Charley being fearful of strange men or isolating herself from others.

The main plot was spread awfully thin. It was kind of interesting, but was a little clichéd. The book could have been a lot better if more focus was placed on this. I’d estimate that there was one tiny plot development maybe every hundred pages.

By the end of the novel I was so bored by reading about so many swim practises and trips to Hank’s that I didn’t give a crap about the cliff-hanger at the end. The ending has a pretty big reveal that gave the whole plot a big push, and also involves a certain betrayal. I’m guessing that I was supposed to be surprised by the whole betrayal thing, but the characters were all developed so poorly that one of them could probably have been a serial killer and I wouldn’t be surprised. By the end of the book I felt like I still knew nothing about most characters.

I would not recommend this book to anyone. I’m honestly just thankful that I got this for free on Amazon and didn’t have to spend any money on it.

No Turning Back starts off crazy. There was no introductory get to know the characters part. There was just a very intense start to the story and right off the bat we have someone to hate- Dylan. Most of the book is about how Charley deals with the fallout of what Dylan did to her. Dylan isn't even in most of the book, Charley dumps him and never talks to him again, but it's like his presence is everywhere, affecting everything that she does. It's hard for me to sum up my feelings about No Turning Back because it wasn't that I disliked the book. I thought it was a well written and interesting story, there were just some aspects of it that didn't work for me. The tough part is that I can see where this would be a great book for so many people.

Charley was the main problem for me in this story. And I hated that. I am such a character driven reader that when I encounter a main character that I want to like so bad and then I just can't seem to mesh with, it makes me a little sad. The book is told in first person through Charley's eyes and sometimes I was a little confused as to her motivations and what she was doing. It seemed choppy in parts, but the weird thing was I didn't think the writing was choppy, it seemed like Charley herself was. She would make these decisions and I didn't know why she did. She would just kind of skip some of the steps, which made for a confusing read at times. But I wanted to like her so much. I felt bad for what happened to her before college and I wanted to see so much growth with her as a person. Charley is a sweet southern girl, and I loved the way she was with her friends. I just couldn't seem to get past the way she was with Cash and Joe. She jumped back and forth between the two of them so many times that I lost count. She would swear up and down that she couldn't be with Cash but then whenever she saw him she was kissing him and telling him she loved him. And then the next day she would be back at school and with Joe 24/7. Charley started to grow on me as the book went on. I ended up liking her, but I never quite grew to love her. I am holding out hope for her in the second book though.

I loved Cash and Joe. They were both great guys. I didn't even know which one I wanted Charley to choose because they were both so awesome. I just didn't want her stringing both of them along until she made her choice. I thought that the two of them and Charley's school friends, "the Kluf girls", made the story. They were my favorite part of the book. The girls were hilarious and the guys were always there for Charley. They never let her go through anything alone. They were a bit overprotective at parts, but it was cute. The secondary characters outshone Charley for me in No Turning Back.

No Turning Back is very conversational and an easy read. The language is very informal and I can see a lot of people appreciating that. I thought it was more of a young adult feel than new adult though. While I didn't love No Turning Back, I can see where it is a book that a lot of people will love. There are two great guys in the story and an interesting plot. And I didn't see the ending coming at all. It completely took me by surprised and I really liked that. I was kind of just coasting along reading this book liking it, but also feeling kind of meh about it and then that ending came out of nowhere. It made me interested in the second book. I want to know just what everyone is going to go from here with this twist thrown in.

Here goes. Usually I'm a binge reader. I start a book and can not stop until it's done. Not the case with this one. I stopped this 2 times and read books in between. Here was my issue there was so much lead up to events and then you'd get to the event and it would literally be a paragraph and the onto the next lead up to another paragraph event. Charley is annoying, immature and a complete idiot for not turning in Dylan and then forcing Cash to not say anything. Her constant Cash Money nick name was over the top annoying. All of the sub characters acted like they were in high school and the just discovered drinking. And A #1 red flag on Joe. No college guy is going to make out with you, sleep in your bed every night and still stick around when you don't sleep with them. Sorry after like the first month of that I was like oh it's him he's helping Dylan. He wouldn't put up with her noise if not. Also I had a hard time with the timeline. So after the date rape which seemed to be early senior year she acts like it doesn't happen. But she still hangs out with all her friends, they live in a small town so how did the her, Cash and Dylan drama not occur within the course of the rest of that school year. Bottom line is this book was very juvenile and too much fluff. On a good note I was happy with the end. I like the twist and the cliffy, but honestly it happens so late in the book I'd bet money a lot of people stopped reading before getting to it. The plot was good I just really didn't care for all the filler that lead to nothing. You can only hear school, practice, hanks, text cash, hang with Joe so many times before you're like, ok we get it. Move on.

Why not start on what I really liked. I am a Brooklyn born bloggers, so in other words I know nothing about country music or talk. I loved the southern innuendo and phrases! The music and mentions of the ringtones were equally appealing. Charley was in a long term typical teen relationship with the all around seemingly perfect Dylan. OK so he is a little bit of a bad boy, but she is happy and still "pure". There is a party and sadly Dylan does the unspeakable. Along comes long time friend Cash to clean up. This is where there is a little disconnect. I think Cash should have been brought up or mentioned before this tragic incident. It seems like he is brought in without any prior mentions and he could have been a big rival for Charely's heart. They have known each other since they were 4 years old. So.... after this incident, Charley lags and finally makes a college choice. So in rush mode, putting the past where it belongs, she leaves Grassy Pond. Seriously how cute is the name Grassy Pond? I loved it.

At Southern College, she really comes into her own. It is amazing how she bounced back and accepts some friends. Of course it doesnt last when Cash walks back into her life.


It is SO worth the trip to Southern and Grassy Pond! I say it may not be perfect, but I really enjoyed it! I thought Charley dealt with her issues in her own way and for that the author deserves a pat on the back. Not everyone crawls into a hole or goes wild. Charley did it her way!

How will her first semester of college end? Seriously read it

I don't like it, but then, I like it. I didn't enjoy it, but there were scenes I did enjoy. . .
It was not the best book, but it wasn't bad
either. Okay, so I've come to the conclusion that I have mixed feelings about this book. 50-50% Hmmm. That's a good settlement. Mixed Feelings.

Super cliché. Check.
High school teenage drama. Check.
Characters who curse a lot. Double check.
No character development at all. Check.
Cute bff scenes. Check.
More NA then YA fiction. *rubs chin* Yep. Check.
Some really good scenes. Check.

I really don't know if I'll be reading the sequel to losing Charley. I don't think I am looking forward to it. I don't know.
Honestly I don't recommend this book to anyone. But if you liked the checklist above, then read it. *shurgs* it's up to you.

This book was just beyond cute, with a very strong them and twist that made me yell at the end. Seriously ms. Casey... You shocked me...never ever saw that twist coming....

Can you hurry up and finish the next book so I can read it tomorrow?? Lol

Truly a feel good book with the characters, and at the same time deals with a very tragic theme... And then just don't forget that major shock at the end!

"...a night I thought was going to be special has turned into the biggest nightmare of my life."

One night.
It only took one night for Charley's life to change. What she thought she knew was no longer true. Decisions she thought she was sure of were quickly changing. After graduating high school, Charley decided to go off to a different College than what she had originally planned. She was looking to start fresh, to be independent.... free. What Charley did not know was that no matter where she went, her past would follow. Her fears would catch up with her.

Luckily for her, she had a wonderful guy in her life. Cash. Oh, Cash. I loved him from the get-go. He's 100% country and damn sexy. Cash was more than Charley's "best friend since they were kids".... he was more than her recent "ex-boyfriend". Cash was her rock, her constant, what kept her whole, and Charley was well aware. But, she was also set on experiencing the "college life" without being tide down. And I get that. Hell, I could relate a lot to the things she did while at College with her new friends, the "Kluft Girls". BUT, I loved Cash too much to completely agree with her pushing him away.

"Charley, I'm not sure what you want, but I know what I want. You. I am willing to wait, continue being your best friend, boyfriend, continue being your rock, but I'm not leaving ever again. I love you and always will."

*Sigh* See??? Cash was just freaking PERFECT... at least for me. This is why I found myself feeling frustrated with Charley, but at the same time, not. And here's why.

“Charley, you are truly beautiful. I don’t know what you are hiding or scared of, but I want to know you. All of you.” - Joe

Joe was what Charley called a Yankee. They met in class where they ended up being paired up for an important project. Joe was VERY hot, athletic (played lacrosse) and down right dreamy. Simply put, I liked him. Ha! I liked him a lot, which is why I never got fully pissed at Charley for not staying committed to Cash. In fact, during every Joe-Charley scene, I was Team Joe. Yet, during every Cash-Charley scene, I was Team Cash. Dammit! Like I said, I liked them both. So basically, I swooned for both of them but felt bad, too. You see, this was a weird "love triangle" for me. Both Cash and Joe knew about each other and although they weren't exactly thrilled about the whole situation, they were okay with it. I guess it helped that they both knew from the very beginning that Charley wanted to be officially single, but still, I kind of had a tough time wrapping my head around it. In all fairness, Joe and Cash (MY new book boyfriends, FYI), wanted to keep Charley safe. That was what mattered to them.

This book was a solid 4 Stars read for me until the end. That ending surprised me and left me desperately wanting more, which is why I decided to give it 4.5 Stars instead. Not only does it end in a cliffhanger, but it ends just when a HOLY CRAP moment smacks you right in the face!!! No wonder Bethany was flipping out when she first read and reviewed it. Hahaha!! But seriously, I was very surprised with how it ended and I'm VERY MUCH looking forward to the sequel.

This is the type of book that after finishing it, you will probably want to go over certain details and discuss the whole thing with friends. Hell, that's what Bethany and I did when I finished it the other night! And that was just another plus for me. Overall, "No Turning Back" was a fun, light story that I truly enjoyed reading.

Charley is a young girl that has grown up in the small town Grassy Pond, and had many prospects for colleges because of her ability to swim like a fish. Charley was loving life during her last year of high school. She loved living on a farm and helping, she had the most popular boyfriend in school, had her best friend Cash (and love since four), and had helped the school win championship titles in swimming.

But her perfect life came crashing down all in one night. The night that her perfect boyfriend drugged and raped her. Charley didn't know what she would have done without Cash by her side. She continued to go to school and act as though nothing happened. The only person that knew was Cash. Charley quit the one thing she loved swimming, and just wanted to make it through the rest of the school year and go to college.

"I put up a front like the Great Wall of China by continuing to hang out with my friends and acting normal, but I wasn't. I was crumbing into pieces."

Charley chooses to go to a small college not to far from home all in hopes of making new friends and learning how to cope with what happened to her. Charley was determined to not let that one night rule the rest of her life. She moves into her dorm and loves all of the girls on her floor. She also meets Joe. A very hot guy with eyes that just want to make you eat him up. They only thing holding Charley back from Joe is her childhood love Cash.

Charley goes between the two boys Cash and Joe. She just doesn't know for sure what she wants. Cash tells her to live up the college life and he will always be waiting for her. While Joe on the other had just wants to know Charley better and be more than just friends.

"Charley, you are truly beautiful. I don't know what you are hiding or scared of, but I want to know you. All of you."

As Charley and Joe get to know each other better she realizes that Joe is also hiding things from his past. Things that she wants to learn more about.

"Right then, I realized that even someone who looks so put together on the outside can be completely shattered within. Joe is shattered within, and I want to help him pick up the pieces."

Not long after Charley starts her college life she starts to receive messages, letters, and pictures from the one person she truly just wants to forget. Her ex-boyfriend Dylan. Charley learns that Dylan has someone following her to keep tabs on her. She begins to fell the panic of the one night she wishes she could forget creeping up on her.

How far will Dylan go to try and control Charley? How will Charley pick in the end Cash or Joe? Will Charley confide in Joe with her secret? What secrets is Joe hiding? How long will Cash wait for Charley to pick him? Does Charley let the one night that changed her life take over her life?

I enjoyed No Turning Back and liked the characters. I felt that there were places that the pace of the story dragged or like I was rereading the same parts over. But all in all I enjoyed Charley's story and want to know what happens next in all the characters lives.

WOW...that about sums up how I feel about No Turning Back by Casey Peeler. Throughout most of the book, I thought something and then right at the end Casey decided to pull the rug out from under my, leaving my mind spiraling out of control. Oh Casey, Casey, Casey how you love to mess with my head.

For the sake of not spoiling this book and the jaw-dropping twist I am going to have to make this review very vague. Trust me, you don't want any detail spoiled because you want that OMG moment to hit you like a brick.

No Turning Back is the story of Charley, who is your typical country girl. She loves to hunt, fish, work on her families farm, and basically anything outdoors. At Southern Charley is determined to live her life for her and not tie herself down, even to the one person she knows she should be with and that's Cash. Soon after moving in to her dorm called Kluft, she makes a lot of good friends some of who are on the swim team, and they no very well that Charley is a fish in the water, so they talk her into joining the team and the sport she walked away from to avoid ever running into Dylan.
Soon Charley's life is moving along, she has great friends, she is back in love with swimming and her and Cash are still close, and in walks Jackalope Joe. They hit it off instantly, while working on their Freshman Seminar project. He likes to call her Squirrel which I happen to think is adorable.

As much as she moves away from Dylan he keeps finding ways to keep her under his control, and soon Charley has no choice but to let her in on her secret because Dylan is starting to interfere in her life. Both Charley and Cash are comfortable with Joe looking out for Charley when Cash is not around. However, Dylan has other plans, he has someone on the inside of Charley's new life, but who is it? Cash, Joe and Charley are racking their brains to figure it out with the help of some unexpected people.

Can Charley finally get away from Dylan? Can she live her life with no fear of him coming back to hurt her or those who are important to her? Who is working with Dylan? These are all answers you will have to figure out yourself. Buy this book! Yes, there is a cliffhanger, and oh my what a cliffhanger it is, but it leaves you anticipating the next book Finding Charley due out Spring 2014.

Casey you pulled off a great debut novel, full of twists, suspense, laughs and some very hot moments. This book was wonderfully written, and flowed very smoothly. I look forward to reading more from you. Congratulations on your book, I wish you all best.

Dating the most popular jock in the school, the hottest guy that every girl wants, Charley is living the ultimate high school experience. But one night her life changes forever, and she wasn’t prepared to face this tragic event. I would recommend this to young adult girls and teenage girls who enjoy romance novels, as well as mystery, this intrigued me. I really enjoyed the second book of the trilogy. The main character, Charley, is struggling to decide what she wants to do after she graduates from high school. She’s torn between wanting to stay close to home, and getting away from her terrible ex-boyfriend, Dylan. He’s the “bad boy” of the school, most popular jock, and best swimmer on the swim team, perfect package, except he did something to Charley that changed her life forever. One night, they were at a party after a swim meet, there was drinking and drugs at this party, and Charley was a party girl her junior year of high school, until, the night she was roofied and raped by her own boyfriend. He has been pressuring her to have sex with him for quite some time, and she wasn’t ready and wanted to wait until marriage, but he took that away from her, and that changed her forever. Her best friend, Cash, finds her in her room, disoriented and devastated, and from there on out, Cash promised that he was always going to protect and love Charley until he died. Their love grow stronger, and now they are more than best friends, they are in love with each other. I haven’t read the last book in the series, but I hope to read it.

Charley was on top of the world. She was a rising star on her swim team and was dating the man everyone at her high school wanted. Dylan was the bad boy of the Dixon High School swim team, and Charley was so excited to have this man as hers. That is until he pushes her too far one night, leaving her crying and in the arms of her best friend Cash. Cash has always been there for Charley, but Cash has always had feelings for Charley, ones that she's never really acknowledged.

Cash returns to her the day she's leaving for college to tell her how he really feels about her but knows that she needs to go off to college and experience life outside of their small town. It's here in college that she meets Joe. She promised herself she wouldn't make college all about boys and that she would focus on studying and trying to move on from the hurt Dylan caused in her life. But she experiences new problems while away at college, ones that will put in jeopardy her safety.

College was suppose to be a break for her, but with her heart caught in between the two men in her life, Joe and Cash, who will she choose and can she find love? Is she willing to give Cash the chance he deserves or is it too little too late for them?

This book just jumped right into it. There was no introduction to the characters it just went wham and the next thing you knew Charley was in her room crying with Cash. Don't get me wrong that's not a bad thing. I struggled a lot with Charley and the way she is in this book. Her personality, the way she can't seem to decide which man she wants to be with. You would think her choice would be easy right? Cash Money has been there for her pretty much her entire life, so it would make sense for her to give him a chance to be with her when he makes it known that he has feelings for her. But no, she goes off to college and finds herself caught between Joe and the man who makes her feel safe and comfortable, Cash. I also have to say this, if you are thinking this is an adult novel, don't review it based off of that because in reality this is more of a YA novel. Sure I usually read New Adult or Contemporary but for what it was it wasn't that bad and I will be reading the sequel. I just had a lot of issues with Charley as a whole and the way that even though she kept pushing him into the friend zone, Cash just seemed to keep coming back for more. I hope Charley grows more in the next book, she's got a long way to go. For that reason and for the fact that I almost closed it a few times because I just felt like this was something I would read as a teenager, I give it four stars. It was a good book, but just was missing that something extra.

I grew up in Central NY and live in NC. Hearing people with accents and their southern twang is cool. They say I have an accent and pronounce things differently as well. With that being said I liked the twang in No Turning Back. I mean supper, come on we all know we eat dinner LOL!
This story starts out with Charley who grew up country. She lives in NC on a farm. Born and raised. She loves everything about it. She is a tomboy but still knows how to be girly. As her parents were out of town, she stayed late to a party. Now Charley is a high school senior. You know we have to live it up as seniors you only will be in 12th grade once. Her boyfriend decides to take advantage of that and all hell breaks loose in a way. Cash her neighbor and best friend who is HOT came to her rescue.
After high school graduation she was stuck. As much as she wanted to stay close to home she wanted to live, nothing tying her down. She decides to attend a college a few hours away from home instead of close to home. I didn’t attend college. I enlisted in the ARMY. That was as far away from home I could get.
In college Charley lives it up. She attends classes, parties and decided to go back swimming. Along the way she has a few bumps, but she over comes those. Like I said I didn’t attend college but I did party like a rock star on the weekends when I was out of basic training and AIT. I mean we only live once right?
Charley met Joe. They become close and hang out all the time. As they get to know one another she finds it that she still has feelings for Cash. I mean he has been there through thick and thin. He loves her with all his soul. But she is torn. She doesn’t want to be tied down, she kind of wants to play the field but not in the literal way.
Toward the end of the book, the story started to pick up. At least for me it did. I did find myself skimming a little. I know college is just that college. No parents telling you what to do. There was a lot of partying, a lot of drama of course. I do have to say this though. I did not expect that kind of ending. My jaw dropped and was like now how in the world can she leave it like that?
How did it end? What happened with Charley and Cash? What kind of Drama went on? You might find this book likeable than me. Don’t get me wrong I liked it, but to me it could have used more action and less partying. Or more partying just more detailed in the making out LOL! So I encourage you to pick up this book and take a look for yourself.

I am speechless with No Turning Back by Casey Peeler! OMG OMG !! This story is a story of strength, the ability to move on, love, finding yourself, and pain. Charley is a 17 year old high school senior, shes a pretty little thing, on the swim team.. has a hot tatted boyfriend Dylan , 2 best friends ..Cash and Piper. What happens when something that changes Charley forever can't be reversed? Something that almost any person would do.. push themselves away from the people that can help them the most. It's not easy moving on but sometimes we have to. Can Charley move on? I loved Charley's strength and her relationship with her mom, dad,Cash, Piper and Tessa (her younger sister). Cash is the country boy that will do anything especially letting Charley go live her life.. I mean loving someone from when you are 4 yrs old ya kinda got to right? So Charley moves on to college and meets these AMAZING GIRLS who become close friends and of course there is Joe, who becomes very close to Charley.. "UM, JOE." Review: I got this book from Ashley’s Reading Bliss blog for an honest review. This was an awesome story. The characters were all strong and had great personalities. We get to meet Charley who in high school was involved with the bad boy...she loves her small town of Grassy Pond and decides to stay close to home for college....this all changes three weeks before the semester starts. Charley packs up and moves on to college. She leaves behind her best friend Cash whom she calls Cash money. She decides she is going to live life to the fullest at college. She wants to make mistakes and have fun. We get to follow Charley’s first semester of college where she meets a guy named Joe and makes some great friends from her dorm. Charley is trying to get over her past. With Cash coming back in her life and Joe wanting her attention...She has some choices to make.
I really enjoyed this book. I think that Casey Peeler did a wonderful job on this book and I can’t wait for the second book to come out!!! I have to know what happens. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is a must read!!!!

Taking the big jump Charley starts to get her life back on track, she has made some awesome new friends, Georgia and Tori crack me up :)

She's met the most handsome and gently guy whilst at college, Jackelope Joe ;)

This guy is AH-MAZING! He's so protective of Charley and I LOVE the southern/Yankee banter between these two.

I LOVE the fact the Joe and Cash are ok with being non-permanent fixtures in Charlie's life yet, as she's trying to figure herself and her feelings out.

I LOVE how Casey has made these characters feel real, like their part of the real world and she's just picked them up and wrote them in a book. Charlie's your genuine home-grown country girl, she loves hunting, working on her family’s farm, and she’s not afraid to get dirty, NOW that's what I'm talking about.
Things again start to turn sour for Charley, but that's not stopping getting on with her life and her studies, she has the most important people in her life looking out for her

I was furious with the ending! I don't want to spoil it, but you will feel the same if/when you read this book! Seriously total douche bag moment coming your way!

First let me just say that this is the first book that read from this author.

Just finish reading this book and I love it, this book grab my attention from the first page to the very last one. I couldn't put the book I did not wanted to finish it at all, I cant wait to read the next one. Let me just say that this book had me in a really good mood I just love it.

Love the characters and really love how this book turned out to be. by just reading this book it gives you the filling that the book is so full of life. and it just want to make you be a part of the story.

The story begging with Charlie, Charlie goes through a bad experience with her ex boyfriend, that's when she decide to move far away from her home to start college. Charlie loves to swim, she wants to experience collage the same way as everyone else once they are a fresh man, she end up being part of the swimming team, end up having some amazing friends that she knows they have her back when ever she need them, their is also the love of her, life and her best friend who is Cash Money, Cash has always being their for her on the good times and the bad times.

Love how their is no secrets between Cash and Charlie, and how Cash knows everything about her, he knows when she is not ok, when she is happy, and most Important he knows how she truly feel for him, I just love Cash he is such a sweet heart with a temper, and he understand that Charlie wants to experience everything about collage, and that means Joe the one that she end up having a crush on but also turned out to be a friend that she get to trust and get to know him, but oh I was loving him into he gave me a surprise and that just change my mind about him.

Love the girls from the swimming team and roommate from the second floor dorms, I love how they all get alone like a big family, I also love Charlie family and the relationship that she has with her parents and how they are always there for her.

I really enjoy this book and love it now I just don't think I could wait for the next book.

This is a story about a girl, Charley aka Char-coal/squirrel, trying to find the strength to move past and heal from a horrible night with an ex boyfriend. I enjoyed the characters and felt the connection between each of them…..

Charley…. She wants to move past that horrible night, and in the process turns her back on her best friend for a brief time period. Charley and Cash, aka Cash Money, have been best friends since they were younger. He is her rock and she just recently realized what a mistake it was to turn her back on him. They are now trying to rekindle their friendship and possibly more. It’s hard though when you are trying to go out and experience life to also know where your “home” is and leave it behind.

While Charley is at school she meets some great friends and they call themselves the “Kluft girls”. They are fun and go out partying together. They go to a place called Hank’s to dance and drink and just have a good time. I think everyone needs a place like Hanks while they are in school.

Charley also meets Jackalope Joe. There is a connection between Joe and Charley and she begins to feel safe with him as they experiment with a type of “relationship/friendship”. I’m going to be honest though… it was hard for me to like Joe because I felt that she belonged with Cash so I couldn’t really open my heart that much and give Joe a chance with Charley.

Let’s not forget about the ex either…. Dylan….. he isn’t completely out of the picture and he has a spy/eyes somewhere on campus. The only question is… who???

Overall, this was a great book. I felt a little like Charley was a player because it seemed to me she would go back and forth between Cash and Joe. I wanted her to pick one, even if it wasn’t who I wanted her to be with, and stick to it. Of course, the ending was a shocker and leaves you wanting to know what will happen next.

My favorite Cash Quote:

“You are what makes my heart beat. I love you. No matter what you say, I will always love you, and I will not let you go. I will fight for you. Now, tomorrow, and forever. Whether you like it or not. You are my Char-coal and I’m your Cash Money. We’re destined for each other; I just know it!”

I really enjoyed this book first of all. The characters are a little bit different and quirky. The Heroine Charley is a country girl through and through born and raised on a farm, she eats road kill for crying out load. I was so not OK with that she also hunts....WTH but I guess that is the Hicks or Red Necks way of life. (No offence)
Her Ex-boyfriend Dylan took advantage of her and stole the one thing a girl can never get back. She is left broken shattered and confused, in the wake of everything she calls the one person who has always been their for her no matter what Cash. She text or call and he is right there. Late one night when Charley text him to check on the Jacker or something like that have no clue what that is. He never expected the scene he would uncover when he entered her bedroom.
His love for her is unconditional, so he cleans her up and follow her wished of keeping the events of that night between them.
A year and a half later she is still struggle with the choices she has made in her life, her self worth is lacking she feels no one would want her with all the baggage she carries.
One person wants her no matter what, Cash but she pushes him away.
I understood her reasoning behind her decisions, but I did not agree 100% I felt Cash deserved better than the way she treated him.
She wanted to stay in her small town of greasy Pond but last minute she changes her mind opting to attend Southern instead. Before she leaves her and Cash makes peace and come to some form of understanding. basically he will wait for her whiles she enjoys the college experience and freedom of trying to discover who she really is. By the end I really did not think she grew from the girl in chapter one to the end she was pretty much the same. Her college experience consisted of making new friends all of which I loved her girls the Kluft's as they call themselves are hilarious and has her back. She also meets Joe who she starts sort of fooling around with no actual sex but other stuff.
One minute she is all over cash the next she is kissing Joe.
Maybe I'm a little bias because I really like Cash.
Overall an enjoyable read with real tender moments

Okay first off I really really want to try a Choice Cherry Gold and go dancing at Hanks Tavern after reading this book.
Second I need more. I need the next book in the series. I need to know what is going to happen!!! That book was so good and so different from what I'm used to reading. I love finding new authors and cannot wait to read more of her work in the future. The main character is Charley and with how the story is written the author does a great job of allowing us into Charley's head. I felt like I was going through and feeling everything Charley did.

In the beginning of the book Charley is dating Dylan a fellow swimmer and well known bad boy. He is arrogant and thinks he is untouchable. That relationship ends, although under horrible circumstances. I couldn't stand Dylan, and I really hope he gets what he deserves.

Charley's best friend is Cash Money who she also dates right after Dylan. ( This is my one issue in the book I felt like the author just skimmed over their relationship. I was confused at the beginning and didn't fully realized they dated. All of a sudden Charley was telling Cash that she needed to concentrate on herself and they were taking a break). Charley and Cash have known each other most of their lives. They have so much in common and can be themselves around each other. In my opinion they are perfect for each other. I am definitely Team Cash Money! Cash, he is so hot and who doesn't love a protective country boy!

I am so glad Charley decided to go away to school. She needed to get away and learn more about herself after all she has already been through. She has a great group of friends at school. So many different personalities coming together and fitting together like a puzzle. She meets Joe at Southern, and I was really cheering for him, but then I started to feel the just friend-zone between the two. I was so glad about this cause I don't know how I would have been able to choose between Cash and Joe!

So I'm reading and am getting ready for the girls to have a great trip before break and then....
Ahhh I can't believe that ending!!!!! I NEED to know what is going to happen. I CANNOT wait until we get more of Charley and her gang.
I would definitely recommend this book.

I had so many troubles reading this book, it's a big NO for me, there's just so much to say about it, the author had a good topic, it's just your can see clearly she didn't research a bit about it.

First of all, she was a rape victim, I could never connect to that feeling, she always acted like something normal, like yes the author know rape it's something serious but she didn't care enough to talk to rape victims, if she would have charley wouldn't behave like she did.

Secondly, charley was so self centered and egotistical, she claims she wants to be alone, find herself, be independent, yet she depends on Joe and Cash, also she's a cheater, and the author trying to make it look ok and to play with cash feelings like that?? Just a big no!

There's no order in the book, i feel like the author wanted to say a lot but didn't know how truly elaborate the scenes in a proper way. Out of nowhere after a year of not dealing with Dylan, he starts bothering her, and it turns out joe helped him. Like wtf?? But my main problem was this:

Anna decides to spell it out for me, “Charley, hun, if you come to a club looking like you do, every guy in the room is going to try to grab your ass. It’s not a bad thing!” “Oh...okay. I just didn’t realize.”

As someone who has been sexually harassed multiple times, since I was 13 I know for sure, that you don't trust easily in men, you don't have those thoughts of candy man as soon as you see an attractive guy, it takes a lot of trust to even dress sexy or even let a man see you and touch you, so I imagine that after a rape it's worst. It took me years to dress like a woman, always hiding my curves with big shirts and never wearing dresses or shorts.

So charley being a tease and then claiming she went thru a lot is just so contradictory. Then, the author making it's ok for some stranger inappropriately touch a woman and she being ok with it. This was my major problem...NO ONE has the right to touch you inappropriately just because of the way you dress. Not because you're wearing a short skirt or a tight dress or show some cleavage means you're asking to be sexually harassed.

So this book is so wrong in so many levels...

Charley is a country girl about to head to college and attempt to explore her independence and discover herself while not losing sight of her roots. She was involved in a terrible relationship in high school that ended in an awful way, and Charley is determined to move forward in her life and not let that event and relationship hold her back any longer. She goes away to school and meets Joe, who is charismatic and fun. Charley is still emotionally and physically attached to her best friend Cash from back home, and is trying hard to allow herself new experiences while not losing what she already has.

I love how straight forward and honest Charley is. She is completely up front about her feelings and intentions and it made her character completely endearing. I loved how even while she faced strong attraction to both Cash and Joe, she laid it all out there for both of them knowing that being completely honest could cause her to lose one or both of them. I also enjoyed how she was true to herself and held strong to her own needs and beliefs.

Charley's friends are fantastic, and it was nice to see her put a healthy support system in place both at home and school. Cash is obviously a big part of that support system, and he is someone that anyone would love to have in their lives. Doesn't hurt that in addition to being completely supportive and respectful, he is also super hot. A combo to appreciate for sure! Joe is an interesting character, and at times it is a true struggle for the reader to figure out who the better choice for Charley is.

There is an element of mystery to this story and there are a couple things that we are trying to figure out during most of the book. A huge piece of information is revealed to us right as the story ends, and will make it difficult to wait for the next book in the series to come out so that we can see what happens next. At times the dialogue was a little choppy and there were a couple situations where the characters didn't seem completely authentic, but overall I would recommend this book, and I will be continuing with the series as soon as the next book is released.

What an amazing debut novel from Casey Peeler. This book had it all! I absolutely loved this book and Char-coal and Cash Money!!

Charley a/k/a Char-coal was such a compelling character. Scarred by the events of one night a year ago in an attempt to heal and find herself she leaves the small town of Grassy Pond and her childhood love to experience college life.

Cash a/k/a Cash Money has been a true friend and more to Charley over the years. He is the one person who knows what happened the night that turned her world upside down and he has made it his personal mission to protect her, even from afar.

I loved Charley’s determination to overcome the event that changed her. I enjoyed the ease of the conversation and the level of comfort that Charley and Cash found in one another. I could feel their chemistry and underlying love radiating from my kindle so you could imagine my surprise when Charley starts to experience some feelings for “Jackalope Joe” at college.

Joe and Charley meet at “Freshman Fun” Orientation. Joe seems to take every opportunity to be close to Charley and they pair up for their Freshman Seminar project. Joe seems like a nice enough guy but I just didn’t fall for him like I did for Cash. I was waiting and hoping that this was not going to become a love triangle. I hate love triangles and I found that I was already picking sides in my mind as to who Charley should be with.

Joe and Charley spend time getting to know one another at school but she lets her feelings for Cash be known. You can feel the testosterone levels rising as you see them each vying for Charley’s attention and affection. But when Charley’s past is thrust into her present Cash and Joe find a common ground to insure Charley’s safety. But is Charley really safe?

The author did a wonderful job of taking you on the journey with these characters but you will have to pick up Finding Charley (Full Circle #2) when it releases in Spring 2014 so see where it will lead. I know I will be.
