Battered and bruised runaway Omega rescued by an Alpha, and then goes into heat...
Recommended for: those looking for a bit of Omegaverse heat and not worried about compelling writing
The first in a three-part serial covering an Alpha discovering a battered and bruised runaway Omega. Written in the present tense, it has an even more basic and sometimes simplistic feel that some of the author's other works. Overall, the writing may not be as good as some of the others in the author's Omega or Mega bundles, but there seems to be a bit more sex, so this series is best for those looking primarily for Alpha/Omega mating and knotting (with a bit of Alpha-Beta-Dynamics) and even less for compelling characters or settings.
- 1.5 stars for writing
- 3 stars for Omegaverse heat
= yielding 2.25 stars overall
(rounded up for a brief glimpse at an Alpha/Beta/Omega pack setting

This is the first of a three part serial with about 15 pages. I like the story as a whole. Eli's kindness and compassion are the biggest factors. He impressed me. His devotion to his small pack and Lucas come through loud and clear. Leadership with firm kindness makes him a man to admire.

What makes Lucas a 'special' and rare omega?
Clearly Eli has taken care of his other omegas during heat before and used condoms. But it seemed to be a surprise that it broke. I'm surprised that he's surprised since this is an alpha knot book. I'd think the knot would stretch the condom into breaking every time but that's just me!

Really short but very tender and hot! Great lead in to the series/serial.
