Amazing history of role played by the ARP/Civil Defense in Britain in WWII through the end of 1942. Hard to believe it could be published in 1943 as it tells how the various divisions work in reducing casulties. Copiously illustrated in b/w. Mostly covers London (which after all recieved about 50% of the bombs) but includes information about other cities as well as the countryside.
