It’s wonderful for a writer to live near Washington, DC as I do. The research resources are fabulous, the scenery is great – complete with monuments, gorgeous public buildings, and the most amazing, weird, convoluted, political people – and I get to be here with the most awesome family, friends and neighbors in the world. I live here with my wonderful husband (he’s my personal hero), my two delightful, growing-too-fast sons, and my three silly rescue dogs.

As former marketing executive, I worked for research parks, governmental concerns and not-for-profits, (which is also great fodder for the writer’s mind!) but now I’m happily employed as a consultant and full-time writer. I’m a member of Romance Writers of America, Science Fiction Writers of America, Mystery Writers of America, and Thriller Writers. I’m also a proud member of the Washington Romance Writers, an RWA chapter, as well as several online RWA chapters. I'm a former board member of the Romance Writers of America.

One of the most enjoyable things I get to do as a consultant and writer, is to teach. I enjoy connecting with my clients, readers and other writers. Having also worked in the funeral and cemetery business for nearly thirteen years, I teach a class on Body Disposal.

Being part of the Ad(d)ams Family, as you can imagine, Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love to work in the garden, run my dogs, hang out with my family, and write. Other than that, as another, more famous author says, the rest is subject to change without notice.

Grins,

Jeanne

Behind Enemy Lines by Jeanne Adams
A Jewel in Time novella. Historical romantic suspense with paranormal elements.
Lady Grace Corvedale is a spy. It’s December 1939, and she gets word that she needs to leave Paris immediately. War is imminent and she needs to get certain information hidden in her books back to her supervisors. Unfortunately her heirloom brooch has become known to Hitler and Grace is detained and brought to Germany to “dream” about her husband. He’s made it known it’s going to be one of his generals.
Lt Robert Dixon has been sent to rescue Grace. He’s a master of disguise and linguistics and knows he can help her escape. She won’t leave without her book of stories which is being carefully guarded. And she’s started to have vivid nightmares of a man in a German uniform.

Suspenseful story of peril, heroism, and sacrifice. Can there be love too during war?
Gripping story. A win for love.

"Behind Enemy Lines" by Jeanne Adams is a "Jewel in Time" novella. This short story was just enough to hook my attention and have me reading about Grace during the early 1900s. I really enjoyed Dix's character and liked the fact that he kept pushing on through what was happening. The actions and bits of romance are what had me enjoying this book the most. Jeanne does such a great job telling a story that I don't pay attention to how much of the book is left, and I also feel satisfied in the ending.

Like all good short stories, this was too short, lol. I love WWII and would have loved more danger on the page, the getting captured, the escape. But as it stands, this hits all the high notes. Jeanne knows just when to cut scene so as to not drag out the story unecessarily, but yet not miss anything important either. I love the vaguely supernatural hints in an all to real world. Basically this was a greadt afternoon read.

In Behind Enemy Lines by Jeanne Adams we are transported back the beginning of WWII, 1939 into the turmoil of France and Germany.

Another captivating tale that I only hope leads to a new series! This spell-binding WWII adventure is filled with super sexy spy stuff, a little bit of magic, a family brooch, and on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense until the very last page.

I received a copy from the Author for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.
