From New York Times bestselling author Angie Fox, a fabulously fun short story about an anniversary celebration that includes a few...unexpected guests.
Lizzie and Dimitri are looking to celebrate their first wedding anniversary in style and Dimitri has found just the place - a charming antebellum mansion turned bed and breakfast. Never mind that there's a cemetery out back. And that Pirate the dog has made friends with a ghost in the parlor. With the biker witches camped out nearby, what could possibly go wrong?

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Angie Fox writes sweet, fun, action-packed mysteries. Her characters are clever and fearless, but in real life, Angie is afraid of basements, bees, and going up stairs when it is dark behind her. Let’s face it. Angie wouldn’t last five minutes in one of her books.
Angie is best known for her SOUTHERN SPIRITS™ mysteries, and for her ACCIDENTAL DEMON SLAYER books.
Date with a Demon Slayer by Angie Fox is a fun novella in the Demon Slayer series. Angie nailed it with this short, action-packed story. Lizzie and Dimitri, along with the gang of biker witches, have stopped in the woods near an old antebellum home turned restaurant. Since it's their 1 year anniversary, Lizzie and Dimitri have plans for a romantic dinner and a sexy evening alone. But, throw in some angry poltergeists, and the evening does not go as planned.
This was a quick, exciting read for me. I like the characters and the world that Angie has created in the Demon Slayer stories. She is able to pack a lot of fun into just a few chapters. I love the sassy, snarky, sexy dialogue with a dose of humor thrown in. I already can't wait for the next installment in this series!
I received an advanced ebook for review purposes. This did not influence my review.
Lizzie Brown-Kallinikos, demon slayer extraordinaire, and her were-griffon husband want to spend their first wedding anniversary free from anything supernatural. Dimitri finds an antebellum plantation house turned restaurant, and Lizzie agrees the place is perfect for a night alone with her husband. The couple learn while dining about the house’s history and the unexplained incidents that have plagued the place. Lizzie and Dimitri find themselves sucked into another dimension and stalked by the malevolent poltergeist of the plantation’s first owner. Help comes to the couple’s rescue in an unexpected guise. Lizzie beseeches the biker witches’ help in dealing with the malicious spirit so he can no longer do any harm again.
Lizzie and Dimitri continue to prove what a formidable pair they are. The couple, however, cannot seem to catch a break when it comes to the supernatural. Something always happens whenever the two want a brief reprieve from the dangerous world they belong to. The two face a paranormal aspect that they do not have the ability or skill set to combat, yet this does not stop them from risking their own lives to protect each other, hence why Lizzie and Dimitri are my favorite couple in romance books. I really like how neither are the hero but the one who saves the day is Pirate, Lizzie’s pet dog.
DATE WITH A DEMON SLAYER is book 7.5 in Angie Fox’s fun DEMON SLAYERS series. The story takes place after the events in NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEMON SLAYERS. I never get enough of the biker witches or their brand of insanity.
DATE WITH A DEMON SLAYER shows that heroes can come in small and furry packaging. It is always a treat to see how the characters behave between books and how situations keep on cropping up when they are least prepared.
Slayer. Party of two. Dimitri and Lizzie celebrate their first wedding anniversary in this novella, the 8th installment of the Demon Slayer and Biker Witches series.
A nasty ghost haunts the B&B where Lizzie and Dimitri make reservations for dinner. They and talking dog, Pirate use their powers and wits and spells to survive.
A fun novella that made my evening light hearted.
"I leaned up and touched my lips against his. It was supposed to be a thank-you, maybe even a little bit of a tease. But then his mouth slid over mine, and I forgot all about that. I pressed against his solid chest as he deepened the kiss. Mine. His hands slipped down my back, cupped my butt as I ground closer to him. Oh yes, I couldn't wait to be alone with this man. "Time out," my Grandma called, jogging over to us. Right. I pulled away. Although Dimitri still managed to keep a hand on my ass. Is that true love or what?" Excerpt from Date with a Demon Slayer by Angie Fox
Date with a Demon Slayer by Angie Fox This novella had plenty of action packed into a few short chapters. The author had an exciting anniversary date for the two main characters but what was extra engaging was a large part for Pirate, the dog, who is recurring character in this great series. The reader suffers along with the characters as the date goes wrong due to ghosts. The author is inspiring due to her ability to highlight social problems such as domestic violence and struggles by small business owners in this book and series by showing positive solutions for these issues. I received an ARC. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it!!
I was given a copy for an honest review. It's been a year since Lizzie & Dimitri have been married, their wedding was anything but normal so their anniversary should be normal right? WRONG! Lizzie & Dimitri, the biker witches & Pirate stop at the Peele House Plantation so Lizzie & Dimitri can have a romantic dinner. While they are having dinner, Pirate makes friends with a ghost named Eva. Eva was married to the man who owned the plantation Hiram Peele, Eva was killed at the plantation over 100 years ago, So once again Lizzie & Dimitri & Pirate are facing off against evil forces, but its up to you to buy & read the book to find out if they save the day!
I enjoyed the book. I'm reading the series out of order a bit but I didn't have a problem following the story. It was great to read that Dimitri and Lizzie made it to a year of marriage. It was an interesting year for them. On their first anniversary they get to deal with ghosts. They will never have a quiet life.
Not bad. I actually like these little snippets, but would love for them to be a little longer. They vary in length, but catching up to everyone is always fun and continually highlights that there is NO rest for a demon slayer.
Awesome! Celebrating your anniversary should be romantic. But what if you Grandma's biker witches are around as well as the ghost that has made friends with your dog. Another great coffee break read. I think this is one of the most amusing series ever.
Poor Lizzie and Dimitri! They wanted was a quiet anniversary dinner away from the Biker Witches and Supernatural hoopla; only that's just isn't in their cards.
This is a fast paced fun short read that takes place in Georgia shortly after the gang leaves New Orleans. The Witches, Lizzie, Dimitri, and Pirate are all coming down from the action that happened in Night of the Living Demon Slayer; and they just want some R&R! Though as we have come to find out Lizzie, and the gang never quite get what they want when the supernatural comes calling. Oh and does it come calling in this short. A nice beautiful plantation style restaurant where Lizzie and Dimitri have there anniversary dinner turns into a haunting experience when the ghost of the Master of the Manor shows up. He is a vitriol spilling bible quoting bastard of a ghost too! Lizzie, Dimitri, and the Witches, with a whole lot of help from the awesome Pirate must put this ghost down. They also need to set free the Ghostly Lady of the Manor, with a little help from the lovable doggie Pirate.
There is not a pet in any other series out there that I love more then cute little Pirate, he is without a doubt my favorite pet in literary existence. Pirate makes this short, and I love that Mrs. Fox lets pirate be pirate! I totally could have kept reading though and was so sad when it ended. I'm always left wanting more of this series!
Ok, we are back with Red Skulls Biker Witches and Lizzy the Demon Slaying granddaughter of the leader and her very hot Griffon husband, Dimitri.
It one year since Lizzy and Dimitri got married, they decide they are going to stop at this little plantation B&B for a really nice dinner and maybe some alone time. Of course Priate, Lizzy ' dog follows them in, something about bad vibes. They notice one ghost by the hearth, a youngish lsdy, prob a by the wife of the the last person to own it. They decide to slip upstairs for a little alone time once dinner was done, even though the owner had told them the upstairs was closed due to deaths, strage deaths. They ment the highly pious, highly angry ghost of the previous owner. Saw the ghost of his wife as she truly was, bruised, scared, and frighted. When they get out, they are in another time and place. With the help of Biker Witches, they do managed to get out of this pickle and save the little B&B.
Again, this a fun romp with this great bunch of characters. I love this group! The charters are very well defined and full of life, even the 'extras' in this short. Very believable situations and out comes, if you belive in magic. Can't wait for the next book. Five stars hands down. Excellent work, Ms. Fox.
IS A NICE NORMAL QUIET DINNER--- TOO MUCH TO ASK?????
so this is a short novella that takes place after night of the demon slayer and before the next book which is due to come out oct--- so for those of you who don't know--- lizzie is a demon slayer - married to dimitri a shape shifting griffin - and her grandma is a witch - who rides with a coven of biker witches- and who also owns a dog named pirate that talks=== the gang is back from new orleans and are in georgia and dimitri has found just the place to celebrate their 1st anniversary and have a romantic dinner a charming antebellum mansion. what could go wrong right???? just about everything- seems the mansion is haunted and one of the ghosts is very evil and is keeping other ghosts from moving on--- and even with the witches help they are battling a supernatural being that is above their skills and are losing - when all of a sudden an unexpected hero rises to the occassion !!!! - this was a fun suspenseful humorous fast paced story with the engaging characters we all love in the slayer series- and for 99 cents a steal - and now i am eagerly awaiting the next book
Book 7.5 in Fox's popular Demon Slayer series, Date With a Demon Slayer is a nice quick read while anxiously awaiting the author's next full length novel in this series. Fox packs these stories with the right mix of mystery, action, adventure, romance, humor, and a fun paranormal flavor to keep the reader engaged, whether it's a full length, or a novella length piece, like this.
All of the favorites are here, Lizzie, her hot, hunky shape shifting husband, Dmitri, her talking terrier, Pirate, and, her grandmother and her gang of elderly, outlaw biker witches. This short story has Lizzie and Dmitri trying to celebrate their 1st anniversary, but of course, nothing goes as planned. With Pirate along for the fun, the newly weds' romantic dinner quickly goes in some very unexpected directions.
Perfect length for slipping into a bubbly tub and having a relaxing soak, with a great book!
One note: although the story certainly could stand on its own without having read any other books in the series, I feel I enjoyed it much more because I'm familiar with the backstory.
Purchase this novella with confidence that you'll get a fun, funny, enjoyable, and well written read!
This little Novella after book seven, is full of typical Demon Slayer and Biker Witches adventure! On their way home, Lizzie's husband, Dimitri, wants to make their first anniversary romantic and quiet in a quaint B &B, after their wild and crazy wedding!! The Biker Witches set up in a field across from the B&B, but there is a cemetery between them. When Lizzie and Dimitri are enjoying a romantic dinner, Pirate refuses to be left behind, and ends up making friends with the previous owner's wife, who just happens to be a ghost! The upstairs of the B&B is closed off, but Lizzie and Dimitri decide to sneak up for a rendezvous, when all he'll breaks loose with the ghost's demented, pious, and evil husband's poltergeist! It takes the love of this family and new found friend to save Lizzie, Dimitri, and Pirate! It's a very touching and fast paced book, and leaves you hoping Angie Fox is writing very, very fast!!!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute, funny, short read that gives you a little yummy taste of the series that made me smile. It can easily be read in a few hours and is 100% pure enjoyment.
Lizzie and Dimitri are trying to celebrate their anniversary with a minimum of drama. This, of course, does not go as planned. How can they possibly expect to have a relaxing evening when their family of biker witches is right down the road? Their “normal” dinner turns into their more typical evening when they discover a dangerous haunting happening in the restaurant/inn. Though there is some excitement and magic, our favorite couple ends up celebrating their anniversary in the only way possible for a Demon Slayer and a Griffin. Oh, and Pirate helps in his own special way, too.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Ever have one of those spectacularly bad days and just need something to make you smile. Date with a Demon Slayer is that smile. Join Lizzie and Dimitri on their first anniversary. While seeking a nice quiet romantic dinner and evening they find anything but in a haunted old house. It takes them awhile to realize that everyone else enjoying dinner is a ghost and it only gets more interesting from there. Pirate makes some new friends and the Biker Witches add their assistance. While the book is part of a series it can be read as a stand-alone story. It is a fun short story that will leave you with a smile on your face and happiness in your heart.
*** A review copy of "Date With a Demon Slayer" was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.***
All Lizzie and Dimitri want is a normal date and a romantic dinner to celebrate their first anniversary. When you keep company with a gang of biker witches, a talking dog and his pet dragon nothing is quite the conventional version of normal. "Date With a Demon Slayer" is a great story and a quick read. The novella can easily stand on it's own but you really don't want to miss getting to know all of these quirky characters. Angie tells a great story and if your looking for a fun entertaining read I highly recommend "Date With a Demon Slayer" and the rest of the series.
I liked the Biker Witch books from the first one and it still continues. The characters are likeable and interesting. This was a short story, just perfect for reading on your lunch hour. Just a nice taste until book 8 comes out. I've come to the conclusion that Lizzie and Dimitri can't go anywhere without something evil finding them. And over the last seven books and a novella, how many times Lizzie dog Pirate steals the story. I love that dog. Although this book comes after the Night of the Living Demon Slayer, you can read it to see if the series interests you, you're missing a lot of the background of the first seven books, but still it's a good 'test' book.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I don't normally like reading novellas since they tend to feel like you are reading an almost entirely different series, but this was great! It felt like the author wrote it at the same time as the Night of the Living Demon Slayer and just couldn't keep this in since it would have been way too long. As usual Angie Fox's humor and wit made for a great book. This story is short, but it's filled with the biker witches antics, Lizzie and Dimitri trying to celebrate their first anniversary and of course Pirate being his adorable self.
It's Lizzie and Dimitri's first wedding anniversary. Dimitri had bought Lizzie a gift but one of the Biker Witches sent it back. Leaving the Biker Witches to camp and party , they go to an old inn with a restaurant for a celebration dinner. Pirate, Lizzie's talking dog, begs his way into tagging along. After dinner, they sneak upstairs for a private celebration. Things start to get interesting after they find a room. Angie Fox's Demon Slayer series contains fun-filled characters, humor, intrigue, demons and drama. Take a ride with Lizzie, Dimitri and the Biker Witches for a fun-filled, interesting afternoon I was given a copy for an honest review.
Lizzie is back for another adventure and this time she is fighting ghosts on her first anniversary. On their special night, Lizzie and Dimitri decide to spend some alone time together in a mansion turned bed and breakfast....but there is one small problem...a ghostly problem to be exact. The mansion is haunted by an evil spirit set on destroying the lives of lovers who come into contact with it. Lizzie and Dimitri must use all their knowledge and love for each other to get out of this mess!! And let's not forget some help from the biker witches and especially Pirate! Loved this novella...gave me my Lizzie fix until the next novel. Angie Fox does it again!
Yet another great one from Angie I never get enough of the biker witches or their brand of insanity. There is not a pet in any other series out there that I love more than cute little Pirate, he is without a doubt my favorite pet in literary existence. Again, this a fun romp with this great bunch of characters. I love this group! The charters are very well defined and full of life, even the 'extras' in this short. Very believable situations and out comes, if you believe in magic. Can't wait for the next book.
Well Angie Fox has done it again. Just when you think the adventure is over with Lizzie, Dimitri, Pirate and the biker witches, there is just more fun! On their first anniversary, Lizzie and Dimitri decide to cozy up and a lovely old inn. Little do they know that there more there than meets the eye (isn't there always?) Lots of fun and the usual supernatural folic in this latest story from the incomparable Angie Fox!
This book is just like all of the books I've read from Angie Fox: cute, satisfying, and wonderful. It is an excellent view of how all her longer books are: full of romance and mystery, with a wonderful bit of humor. If you are afraid to get one of the longer books, read this one to see just how enjoyable her books are because they are all worth it. You will NOT be disappointed!! Thanks goes to Angie Fox for the free e-book as a newsletter winner!
If you need a quick read about a fun Date Night, this is the book for you! Only Lizzie & Dimitri can have this many things go wrong on a dinner date! Lol Of course, the Biker Witches are close, so they step in to assist. Pirate gets to have fun too, as there are ghosts involved. This book is short, but a great Demon Slayer fix for those of us who follow Angie Fox. Thank you Angie for keeping us entertained while waiting for the full length books to come. :-)
I have to start by saying that I LOVE Lizzie, Dimitri, and Pirate. This short story is a great addition to the series. When Lizzie and Dimitri try to enjoy their anniversary quietly, the supernatural world interferes with the plans. The ensuing chaos is par for the course with these two and throw in the biker witches and Pirate, the talking dog, and you've got a hilarious and wonderful romp of a short story to whet your appetite for the next story
Date with a Demon Slayer is a short, fast paced novella. Lizzie and her husband are celebrating one year of marriage and want it to very different from the wedding; however, ghosts arrive an undelivered present doesn't and Pirate's antics provide a captivating story that takes you away into the plot. Not many couples can boost getting rescued by their dog, his new friend Eva and the Witches Biker gang. I really love this series and highly recommend to everyone!
