What If You Could Do Your Best Work While Being Your Best Self?

You are talented. You are driven. You are also working inside a system that was never designed for your success.

Human bodies evolved to move, rest, play, and work in rhythms. Then we built the modern workplace and ignored all of it. We replaced biological rhythms with calendar invites. We replaced recovery with caffeine. We replaced purpose with productivity metrics. The result is a generation of successful, miserable professionals, and more than half of them are disengaged and planning to leave.

Eric Reiners learned this the hard way. After leading the response to a cybersecurity crisis, he watched his health, judgment, and joy fall apart. He came back with a master's degree in applied neuroscience and a system that works with your biology instead of against it.

The Energy Edge System gives you nine practices across three pillars, Energy, Focus, and Flow, backed by roughly forty studies from neuroscience and sports science. You will learn

Recover like an athlete so stress makes you stronger instead of sickerFind your peak performance window and protect it from your calendarCreate cognitive ease to reduce overwhelm and fatigueLock in unlimited motivation with the power of purpose and identityCreate goals that actually workDesign your environment for extreme focus on strategic workGive praise that actually lands in the brain and improves team performanceCreate group flow conditions so your team does its best work togetherUse the power of play to increase innovation, joy, and productivityEach chapter ends with an exercise that turns the research into a Monday-morning habit. This book is for the Director, VP, or executive who has done everything right and still feels like something is wrong. If you've lost your motivation, burned out, or asking "is this it?" after a successful career, this book is for you.

You don't have to choose between your best work and your best self.

ERIC REINERS is a CTO, executive coach, and professional speaker who is obsessed with making our working lives better.

Eric has held senior leadership roles including CTO, CIO, VP of Product, and VP of Engineering at high-growth technology companies where he launched award-winning products and responded to high-profile cyber-security attacks. The high stress environment of cybersecurity inspired Eric to create the Corporate Athlete Program, which helps corporate professionals train, perform, and recover like pro athletes, so they can feel great, stress less, and love their work.

Eric combines his leadership experience with evidence-based practices from neuroscience, biology, and sports science to create practical and repeatable habits that honor our biology
instead of fighting it. This approach goes beyond typical corporate training and coaching. Eric trains and coaches high-performing professionals to do the best work of their life while feeling great at the same time.

Eric is a certified Ashtanga yoga instructor and a certified High Flow Coach from Flow Research Collective. He holds a bachelor’s in applied physics from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in applied neuroscience from King’s College London.

Eric lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Kerri, their two sons, and a very enthusiastic Australian Shepherd. When not speaking
and writing about these topics, Eric is practicing them. You might find him playing in the woods with kids and dog, banging his head against a wall of code, or making a mess in the woodshop, usually forgetting to eat lunch.

The Energy Edge approaches workplace burnout through a different question: what if the problem is not a lack of discipline, but a workplace rhythm that conflicts with human biology?
Eric Reiners draws from neuroscience, biology, sports science, and his own experience in high stress technology leadership.
The book introduces practical approaches to energy, focus, recovery, motivation, and flow rather than another conventional productivity system.
Its emphasis on active recovery and working with biological rhythms gives the discussion a concrete framework.
The result is a practical guide for professionals who want stronger performance without treating exhaustion as the price of ambition.
