By the time the so-called 'Stealth Fighter' was acknowledged to the world in November 1988 it had already been in service with the USAF for five years. A product of the Lockheed Skunk Works, the F-117 Nighthawk was the first operational aircraft to be designed around stealth technology. Although popularly known as the stealth fighter it was actually a ground-attack aircraft.
First published in 2016, 'F-117A Nighthawk 1981-Present' is a novelty Haynes manual which gives an in depth look at the Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk, a stealth combat aircraft once operated by the USAF. The text is lavishly illustrated by over 200 photos and other illustrations looking at the development, operational history and anatomy of the aircraft type. I found the description of the technology used informative and engrossing - the book was difficult to put down for a while. Excellent for its type.
