Brett Dalton, Alpha of Hudson River, isolated himself from his pack mates after one betrayed him. The once, easygoing Alpha has become taciturn, remote and unforgiving. His pack worries for him, but they too have suffered a devastating blow. When several members leave to join Three Rivers, the pack faces the threat of dissolution until Brett's best friend and Lone Wolf, Luc Danes returns to Hudson River accompanied by a beautiful young human—or is she? Something about the woman consumes Brett. Has Luc come home to help or to take the pack from Brett?
Colby Jensen wrapped up thousands of hours of community service working at the hospital in Maine when an injured Luc Danes rolled through the door. The impossible patient drove the nurses crazy, but when Danes offered her money no strings attached to drive him to New York, she agreed. The last thing she expected was to arrive in the small Westchester County town and to meet the craziest collection of residents—especially the devastatingly sexy Brett Dalton. Part of her wants to hit the road, the rest wants to make him smile and he keeps making excuses for her to stay.
Then she sees the wolves...and is exposed to a world she can barely imagine. When Brett discovers a secret about her, nothing will be the same again. Now she will find herself torn between a world she isn't sure she can understand and the man who has taken her heart hostage...
I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.
I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.
After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.
Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.
Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.
One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.
I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!
Loved this book, h helps shifter when he's badly injured. H is intrigued by h, and their story has a mystery and a slow burn romance. Loved his intensity as he re-claims his pack and also romances the h. She's a mystery too, part Korean and no idea about her father's inheritance. Lots of fun.
This was such a fantastic read! It was well written and I just love the world that Heather Long has created. This is the first book in this series that I have read, and although it worked well as a standalone, I can’t wait to go back and start this series from the beginning.
Brett was an awesome Alpha. He’s had a bit of misfortune that centered on a betrayal in his pack and he has been hit very hard by it. He also carries the physical scars from that betrayal, a constant reminder to him that he failed to protect his pack. When Brett meets Colby there is no denying that he wants her, he just needs to find a way to keep her in town so he can have the time he needs to convince her to stay.
Colby has had some bad luck in her past and has paid the price for it. Having finished serving her community service time by working in a local hospital, she knows she needs to get away and start her life over. She agrees to drive one of her patients to his home town, which will give her some extra money to start her new life…what she doesn’t anticipate is meeting Brett Dalton and being drawn into his world.
Brett and Colby were just awesome together. Through Colby, Brett begins to heal emotionally and become the alpha that his pack needs. Through Brett, Colby learns to trust and learn things about herself and her past that will change her world. I loved the fact that Colby was not afraid to go toe to toe with Brett and call him out when needed, which of course led to some great reactions from his pack. I also loved watching both Brett and Colby with the pack – watching Brett reconnect with his pack and seeing Colby begin to forge relationships.
There were many things going on this book, from the question of Luc’s motives by returning to the pack, the alpha challenges that Brett faces, the inter-pack dynamics, and of course the love story. The plot was well-developed and moved along at the perfect pace to have all of these things unfold seamlessly. And even though I have not read the previous books in this series, the author does a fabulous job giving enough background, history, and information to understand the dynamics at play. The writing was wonderful and the author managed to capture the personality of each of her characters in their dialogue and actions.
Everything about this book was a win for me and I can’t wait to delve into the previous books in this series as well as see what is next for the Wolves of Willow Bend.
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
I received an ARC of 'River Wolf' from the author, in return for an honest review.
Having just finished reading 'River Wolf' I'm feeling a little sad, that it's over... I could have kept reading Brett & Colby. 'River Wolf' is the 7th book in Heather's "Wolves of Willow Bend" series, you don't have to read this series in order to understand what's going on. Although I haven't read ALL the other books in the series, I was able to understand the connections within. But I do intend to read the rest as soon as I'm able to.
Colby is almost finished with her community service in the hospital, where she meets Luc, he somehow convinces her to drive him back to his home. After hours of driving, with Luc getting worse, Colby finally arrives at the address Luc gave her. Brett helps Luc inside & is convinced to keep Colby where she will be safe....
I LOVED the interractions between Brett & Colby, Colby stand up for herself, which is something Brett rarely see's, especially with him. Heather weaved such a thrilling tale of suspense, action, passion, sassyness & love.... I found myself drawn into the story & unable to stop until I'd finished. Her heroine Colby, is not only sassy, but willing to put others before herself, especially those who need to be healed. Brett's alphaness is slowly returning all thanks to the lightness brought about by Colby, for the good of the pack & Brett. I NEED to read the series ASAP & can't wait to read what comes next in the series...
While this is the first in this series that I've read from Heather Long it wont be my last. Fast paced, sexy, with some action, it made for a fun read.
I really like Colby. She's sassy and fierce with a smart mouth. She balanced Brett's seriousness really well. Brett is really sweet too. He comes off very strict and serious but he has a playful side and really loves his pack. Both Coby and him have been hurt in the past and it was nice watching them help each other heal and open up to one another.
It stood alone really well for being part of a series. The author explained enough so that the reader wont be lost coming into this one. I do plan on going back and reading the rest of the series to find out more about other characters and how some of the relationships came about. I also cant wait to get a story for Luc. He's quite the character and had me laughing at his antics.
A great read for fans of paranormal romance. I'd definitely recommend checking this and Heather Long's other books out.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review .River Wolf is an enjoyable read from beginning to end .After finishing her community service Colby is planning to start her life over. When one of her patients hears shes leaving town he offers her a deal give him a lift home and he'll pay her quite a bit of money .Colby isn't sure about this deal she thinks he should stay in the hospital but she accepts and she and Luc head out .Upon arriving at their destination Luc is unconscious so Colby goes inside the house to find help but she finds much more. Brett is the Alpha and he has been burned in the past so he doesn't let anyone get really close but after laying eyes on Colby he isn't ready to let her go anywhere. This story was full of relate able characters ,humor, emotion and danger and I couldn't stop reading .I highly recommend this book to other paranormal readers out there .
I couldn’t wait to read up on Brett and see just who snapped him out of his funk. Colby was a good twist but she could’ve been more, maybe be able to talk with the pack telepathically or call on any animal form she wanted. Something was missing with her but in the end the story was worth reading. I can’t wait.
This is a gr8 story about an alpha (Brett), who has been thru mega trauma in his life. He is so messed up, that he pulls away from his pack and that's causing some problems. In walks Colby, a beautiful woman with Brett's old friend, Luc. Luc has problems of his own & has been away for quite awhile. As soon as Brett finds out that Colby & Luc aren't together, he tries to find out what is so special about her because he is very attracted to her. There were many times I laughed out loud & my hubby gave me some strange looks. This is a gr8 story, & I totally recommend it.
I’ve jumped around in this series a bit but apart from knowing what happens further on I still enjoyed this story. Colby was lovely, due to the fact she was strong, capable and a match for Brett. Glad to see Brett come out of his funk and become the alpha he should be once again. These two together were great support for the other. They managed to heal Brett’s emotional scars and find out about Colby’s unknown heritage, which really was interesting. Luc was the fun jokester, even with his injuries. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
Unexpected and interesting, River wolf had my attention from the very beginning. Brett has been among my favorite characters since he was first introduced, and I’ve been hoping for his story ever since. Strong and independent, Colby is perfect for Brett, pulling him out of his exile and helping to heal his pack. The unexpected twists definitely helped to keep the story engrossing!
Worth the money. Really great storyline and characters.
I wish this series was on ku, getting way to expensive to read it all. Will read the rest of the alpha series and ranae's then I'm done. For this many books in the series the author should help readers enjoy her books. Ku doesnt lose them money. Infact shed make more cos we'd read the entire series instead of only half of it.
Dont know many that can afford 3.50 to 4.50 a book in a series of 20 plus books.
My brain is still processing all that went down in this book! There is so much, so many things that happen that just had my heart racing, while also having to savouring every moment. Firstly, how do these characters all fit together? It takes most of the story to get to bottom of that. Secondly, who, how, what, and why? So much this, and the ending, the conclusion, perfection, and if I wasn’t hooked before, I definitely am now, because these characters are phenomenally amazing <3
I tried reading this to finish it. I did this time. It's a slower pace than I had been reading in this genre so that was likely my avoidance in finishing this. I tried again and really liked it. It had good moments and I liked bothe leads.
Again, why am I bothering writing reviews? I’m in awe of this whole series. I want so much more. I’m already sad that the ending is coming and I haven’t even made it yet.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an open and honest review. No Spoilers in this review. But I would have definitely paid for it because it is worth the price of admission. Heather Long has done it again, with her 7th installment in this great series (Wolves of Willow Bend). Every installment introduces us to new characters or let's us get to know others better and they also let us get reacquainted with old friends from past books. In this installment, we are introduced to Colby Jenson, a girl who has had a rough start in life and even rougher taste in men or bad boys as she calls them. She is serving out the remainder of community service in a hospital as a nursing assistant or general all around Girl Friday. She meets Luc Danes who is a patient and a wolf (a Lone Wolf to be exact) he was hit by a car and is trying to heal from his injuries. Now don't get ahead of the story here because this is one of the twists in the story that I won't tell you about. We are then re-introduced (see the installment entitled "Wolf Claim") to Brett Dalton, Alpha of Hudson River pack and general all-around good guy who has suffered much at the hands of someone who betrayed him and tried to steal the pack from him. I am not going to go into the plot points of the book as some of my fellow-reviewers have done that for me...but suffice it to say that Heather has crafted a well put together book full of plot twists that I didn't see coming, wolves that are frustrating, fun, sexy, sexy, sexy, loving, caring and all wolf. I could not put this book down until I had finished it and found out who, when, why the main characters get their HEA (or do they?) See told you, no spoilers. What can I say about Heather Long and this wonderful series?? Buy them all and fall in love with the varied personalities of the wolves that make up the Willow Bend and the other packs that reside in the USA and around the world...I started reading this series with Rogue Wolf #4 awhile back and went back and started reading them from Book 0 "Wolf at Law" and followed them all the way to this one Book 7. Trust me you will not be disappointed and will fall in love with all the Wolves of Willow Bend. Thank you Heather, I can NOT wait to see where you take these wonderful characters next and who will get the "Heather Treatment" next...will it be Samantha, Luc, Pierce or someone else?
River Wolf: Book7 Wolves of Willow Bend By Heather Long ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received this ARC to read and give an open and honest review. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Heather Long is a brilliant storyteller and book7th is a Fantastic addition to this AWESOME series "Wolves of Willow Bend". Rogue Wolf is the first book I have read and now I have started reading all the books in this series. I can say I haven't been disappointed in reading any of them and I haven't read them in other. If you love shifters like I do you will fall in love with all the Wolves of Willow Bend. Heather Long characters are captivating, sexy and wonderful. The storyline in each book of the series has different and varied personalities you will fall in love with the wolves of Willow Bend and the other packs. Heather long has put together a book full of twists and turns that isn't easy to see coming. The wolves are fascinating, sexy, fun, sensual, loving, protective, caring and all shifter. I couldn't stop reading this book until I had finished it. Forget food sleep and anything else until you have finish this story.
River Wolf is about Colby Jenson and Brett Dalton. Colby has had a rough life and she thinks she has bad taste in men. She had to serve her community service sentence at the hospital as a Nursing Aid. While there she has to take care of the patient in 512 who is Luc Danes and he is a wolf actually he is a Lone Wolf who was hit by a car and his injuries was very bad. But Luc needs out of the hospital before he shifts so he ask Colby to drive him home, she is reluctant but needs the money. Brett Dalton is the Alpha of Hudson River pack who has suffered much at the hands of someone who betrayed him and tried to steal the pack from him underhandedly. Brett has trouble trusting even his pack, but he is drawn to Colby but he first thinks she is Luc's mate. I am not telling you the book just enough for you fall in love with just you whispers being a little wet.
I'm so excited to read any book in this series and I would love to read more of Luc. I recommend this series if you love reading Paranomal and Wolf shifters. If you are Like me you will fall in LOVE!!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books.
After an attack last year, Brett, Alpha to the Hudson River pack, closed in on himself. He was devastated by the betrayal that left him scarred, physically and emotionally. When his best friend is injured and procures a lift home, Brett's world is turned upside down. Colby is finishing up a years community service for a very bad decision she made. Luc is a grumpy patient who only seems to settle for Colby. When Luc asks her to drive him home, with a thousand dollar fee, she jumps at the chance. She was leaving town anyway. When Colby gets to Hudson River, she wants to stay, she has no idea why. But then Luc and Brett make a discovery that will change both Colby, and Brett.
This is book 7 in the Willow Bend books. I have not read the other books. I didn't feel like I was missing anything, though, and would say these can be read as stand alones, but would probably be a better reading experience if read in order.
This was different, and different is ALWAYS good! Colby has no idea about her heritage, and what it means to her until she meets Brett and the Hudson River pack. They bring everything out, quite literally! Colby and Brett have a slow smoulder, there isn't that instant MINE thing that you usually get with wolves and I loved that!
The plot moves along nicely, at speed and sometimes slow. Both characters get their say in the third person, and I am happy they did. We get into Brett's head with is trust issues and we get into Colby's head with her run/stay problem. We don't get the wolves though, they don't have a say. Like I said, different is good!
I'd like to go back, at some point, and read the previous books in this series, its just a matter of finding the time! Going forward, I'd love to read them, and see who is next!
4 stars
**same worded review will appear on Goodreads, Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk**
I have to start this by saying I love this series so much. Ms. Long is a really good paranormal romance writer. She breathes life into her stories like few others can. Her worlds are vibrant, vivid, exciting, stimulating, lively and powerfully authentic feeling. You literally feel like you step into the world she has built from page one. And her characters are always strong, independent, fun, funny, capable, incredibly sexy or pretty, smart and often stubborn, opinionated, feisty, complex, multi dimensional males and females that you can't resist loving.
Of course this book holds true with being every bit as good as the rest in the series has been. I loved how deeply wounded emotionally Brett is and how Colby is able to help him heal his heart and truly live again after the bitter betrayal of a pack member. The character of Luc brings humor into the story as Colby helps him to recover from his wounds after being hit by a car in wolf form. Colby is a nursing student was the only one that could calm him down when he is in the hospital and he talked her into driving him back home to his pack and best friend Brett who is the Alpha of the Hudson River pack. When Brett lays eyes on Colby sparks fly.
I highly recommend this series !!!
Series Reading Order: Wolf at Law (Prequel) Book 1: Wolf Bite Book 2: Caged Wolf Book 3: Wolf Claim Book 3.5: Wolf Next Door Book 4: Rogue Wolf Book 5: Bayou Wolf Book 6: Untamed Wolf Book 6.5: Wolf with Benefits Book 7: River Wolf Book 7.5: Single, Wicked Wolf (releasing in October) Book 8: Desert Wolf (releasing later in 2015)
A lot of girls have a thing for bad boys, but for Colby, she is serving community service because of one. While working in a hospital as a nurse assistant, she has to deal with an angry man, Luc, recovering from a car accident. But eventually, Colby becomes the only one that can handle the difficult man. She bribes him with burgers, fries, and a milkshake, bringing to mind the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. As she leaves to start over in Florida, he offers her a proposition that is too good to be true or to pass up. He pays her $2000 to drive him to his old stomping grounds. She agrees even if she thinks he is a complete asshole.
Unbeknownst to her, Luc is a werewolf. He wants to get back to his pack after being a lone wolf for decades. Once back in the arms of his pack and longtime best friend and Alpha, Brett, things start getting interesting. When Colby meets Brett all bets are off on her moving to Florida to start over. He senses that something is different about her, as Luc had, and that he has to claim her as part of the pack, as his mate. He wants to keep her safe, to reach her inner wolf, and to love her forever.
Once Colby gives into the magnetic sexual pull between her and Brett, things start to burn. The smoldering sex scenes are amazingly written. It gets your imagination and hormones racing. Once she finds out about werewolves, and something else quite shocking, she embraces it and joins the pack with Brett as her Alpha and mate. It is a great story about finding a place to belong and the love that can follow if you allow it.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. This series has to be one of the most interesting and captivating that I have ever read. The characters simply make you melt into a puddle. They are strong and unique, yet have common ground in the fact that they all herald from the same genre, they are mostly all wolf shifters. The author never ceases to amaze me with her ability to bring the characters to life in a way that makes you feel like you are there and one of them. Heather, as always, has given us a plot to roll with, spinning off of the original book from the series. We often get glimpses of previous characters, making us feel like we are part of the pack family. This particular story includes Brett, the Alpha of the Hudson River pack, and Colby, a nurses aide serving out her community service hours at a hospital. When Luc, a lone wolf is admitted for severe injuries received during a "hit and run" incident, Colby seems to be the only one who can calm him. When she is finished her last shift, he asks her to drive him home. Offering her a sizeable sum as incentive, and some fancy coercion, she agrees. Once they arrive, Luc asks Brett to make sure she stays at least until he regains conciousness. I won't tell you any more, as I think you definitely need to read it for yourself to get the full impact. I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed. I simply can't get enough of this series. On pins and needles waiting for the next episode.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Blew me away. Ms. Long always writes a good story but for me, this time? She really packed it with deep characters, deep feelings, and a deep storyline. Loved it.
Brett Dalton is the Alpha who has been thru some major, major trauma. He has isolated himself and his pack is paying the price. He is trying to come back and be the best Alpha he can be, for himself and his pack. Colby Jenson is an almost-but-not-quite-done nursing student who has just completed thousands of hours of community service. It is here that she meets up with Luc Danes – former friend of our Alpha Brett and former member of his pack – who is severely injured. The story behind how Colby and Luc get Luc back to the Hudson River pack is a good one, sometimes humorous (if you aren’t the one with the injuries) and poignant and sometimes funny. And when Brett meets Colby? Sparks a-plenty!
No spoilers from me but Brett and Colby are both trying to heal from horrendous backgrounds and each has secrets and issues that need to be dealt with before they can move on. I was always ready to fight for them and I cheered them on. AND I was ready to stand up for them until I remembered that they were characters in a book. Made no dif to me. Seriously, this was such a good story and I loved the main characters. Secondary ones are great, too, but my heart belongs to Brett and Colby. Ms. Long really wrote amazing characters with some new twists to shifters that I hadn’t read before. I highly recommend.
River Wolf was a fantastic book. It was intriguing, unusual and funny. Colby is a take no prisoners tell it like it is type of person. She wont let anyone hurt her again, but she is also seriously compassionate when it is called for. Brett is the scarred inside and out Alpha of Hudson River Pack. He is trying to heal the pack and fix his mistakes all the while being on the sidelines. This is a standalone though it is book 3 in the series. It does have characters and refer to things from the previous books it is not necessary to read them, but of course it could only enhance your reading if you did!
When Brett told his friend the now lone wolf Luc he could heal with his former pack he didn't expect him to sucker some human into giving him a ride. And he certainly wasn't expecting his reaction to her. When his friend asked him to keep her there before passing out Brett worked to do just that. Colby gave Luc a ride to his home that he hasn't seen in years and they keep distracting her when she says she is ready to leave. It is funny to me that every time she turns around they have her head spinning. She thinks they are nuts.
Colby is unique and Brett finds out just how unique she is. This book has a ton of story. It is interesting and intriguing the way they took it. I couldn't put it down. I hadn't read one quite like it. I enjoyed the fact Colby was a strong woman and that Brett was of course a strong man but he was also soft when he needed to be. I highly recommend this book to anyone loving Paranormal Romance, wolf shifters and just a dang good story!
River Wolf-Wolves of Willow Bend-A thrilling suspenseful romantic story.
HORRIFIC MEMORIES HAUNT THE ALPHA!!!
The story features Brett Dalton, a gorgeous, strapping wolf shifter and Alpha of the Hudson River Pack; Colby Jenson, an audacious, sexy, assistant nurse; Luc Danes, a charismatic powerful wolf shifter and Brett's best friend.
The cast of characters are astonishing, impressive and engaging, banter superb, spectacular story-line, potent vivid scene descriptions, pack issues, pent-up rage and emotions spiral, secrets unfold, special powers revealed, unexpected surprises, gripping suspense, camaraderie, life threatening incidents, family moments, jaw-dropping heart-throbbing pulsating romance, and a heart-melting conclusion leaving you wanting more.
Spectacular fascinating fast paced well written read by a genuinely gifted author. The characters are convincing and certainly praise-worthy. Colby faces many challenges but her unwavering courage prevails; Brett finds the solace he desires and his unfading devotion shines like a beacon; and Luc gleams with well deserved pride. I found this story exhilarating and a most gratifying read. If you enjoy spine-tingling romance with thrilling suspense, this is an excellent choice for your library. In the world of shifters the possibilities are illimitable and always fascinating. {I received an arc for a thoroughly truthful review}. Without reservations I highly recommend this book.

I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. This is an amazing and wonderful book and I enjoyed reading every single page. This book grabbed my attention from page one and held me captivated all the way through to the very last page.
Brett is a big, strong, sexy alpha wolf shifter who has gone through some very bad times and has lost his ability to trust his fellow pack mates. He receives a call telling home his long time best friend has bee injured and is on his way back to home and he is bringing a friend Colby.
Colby is a strong, beautiful, feisty, woman who is finishing up serving time with community service at a hospital when she meets Luc. He was admitted to the hospital after a hit and run. He wants to go home and offers to pay Colby if she can take him home on her way out of town. She agrees and that is the start of this amazing story.
When Brett and Colby meet for the first time there are fireworks. Their story has everything fear, mistrust, danger, romance, humor, hot hot hot mating and at the end a wonderful HEA. I honestly could not put the book down until I finished reading every single page.
I highly recommend this book, this author and this series to everyone who loves paranormal romances. I know you will love it as much as I did. Be sure to pick up a copy, you will be very very glad that you did.
Another hit for Heather Long! What a beautiful, emotional, suspenseful and sexy ride! It grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go leaving me wanting more.
Brett Dalton is an alpha wolf shape shifter that is sexy, strong and every thing you can want or expect from the Alpha character. Brett has suffered some problems along the way and is finding it hard to trust some of his pack. This causes him to isolate himself from the others, but once Brett sees how he distance is affecting the pack he mans up and returns to care for and lead his pack.
Colby Jenson is a nursing student who is working to complete her community service hours at the hospital. While she is completing her hours of service she meets Luc Danes. Luc is a former member and friend of Brett's pack who has been badly injured. Luc offers to pay Colby to hlep him get back to the pack where she meets Brett. This is where Brett and Colby first meet and heat ignites between these two.
I adored this book and loved Brett and Colby's story. I think I may even left a piece of my heart behind with these two ♥. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance novels.
I received an eARC copy of this book via Barclay Publicity and the publisher for my hones review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.
I just keep getting in deeper with this series with each one revealing more about who can entrance you. The characters she brings to the forefront in each one becomes a vital part of the story with the magic of her writing. This one in particular I found to be mesmerizing because of where it takes you. Luc has got into a bit of a critical accident but thank goodness he ends up in a hospital where Colby is just finishing up a sentence. He also knows how to bargain with her thanks to her heart but he also has his own motives. He needs to get home and she takes him. She is also different and he notices it. Once they are there she encounters Brett the alpha who has had his share of trials which has left him a bit isolated and lonely. A alpha can not be like that though but there is something about Colby that set him on a different course. It was quite intriguing reading about Colby and what makes her rare but the attraction and chemistry between them builds to new heights also. this author will show you a alpha who can tame even the most feral. The humor interwoven is just right. As she learns who she really is and not imagination you go on a ride with these two and all thanks to Luc wanting to come home. Learn the meaning of mine upclose and personal.
This was my first book by Heather Long and I am happy to have found her and read it. The author notes at the beginning of the book that this is a stand alone but is part of a series. She states that the reader may enjoy it more by reading the prior books. As I said, this was my first book of hers, not having read any of the others wasn't something that bothered me. There were enough scenes that spelled out what we, as the reader, were missing. I found her story telling to be in sync with a majority of authors, and enjoyed the book.
Brett is the Alpha of the Hudson River pack. He has lost his way from betrayal. He has closed himself off from his pack and they need him back. Luc is a lone wolf who was hit by an automobile and badly hurt. He is in the hospital. He is a handful. Colby is spending her time working in the same hospital chasing down court ordered community service. She seems to be the only one that can handle Luc. When Luc finds out she is finishing her hours and planning to leave, he offers her a lot of money to drive him home. You could say sparks fly when Brett and Colby meet and maybe, with Colby around, Brett can start healing.
I was given an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
"A healer for the pack" This is an amazing book and series!. It is packed full of spine-tingling suspense and heart-melting romance. The characters are incredible. In this series you will find the most sexy Shifters. Brett is the Alpha of the Hudson River pack. Brett receives word that his best friend and lone wolf Luc was hit while in wolf form by a hit and run driver. Luc had changed back to human form by the time he was found.
