Nearing age thirty, Jeremy James is cruising along in life, doing as he pleases. No girlfriend, no wife, no drama. Women go as easily as they come, but inside, he feels something’s missing. After the birth of his niece, Hannah, and a not so gentle nudge from his sister, Zoey, Jeremy decides to make a change in his life and settle down.
Then he meets Teagan Donnelly. And she wants nothing to do with him.
Teagan has recently come out of a three year relationship with a man who cheated, shamed her, and berated her for her weight and life choices. The once secure yet spirited woman cannot figure out what Jeremy wants with her.
For Jeremy, it’s plain and simple. He wants Teagan to stop running away and give him a chance. But for Teagan, taking a chance with Jeremy means she could lose herself all over again.
Author’s note: While this is book four of the Just Say Yes series, it can be read as a standalone. This book is a spin-off from Andy and Zoey’s story, which takes place in books 1-3. Characters from the first three books will be mentioned throughout, but Running Away is written in such a way that there are no questions as to who everyone is. If you’d like to delve deeper into the James family dynamic and the wonderful characters, I recommend reading the first three books. Thank you! ~Jen
I live in a small town in Northern California with my husband and all of our rescued pets. Like the main character, Zoey, in my book series, I come from a family of mechanics. My father is a mechanic, all of his brothers are/were mechanics at one time or another. I have never NOT been around hot rods! My husband is a mechanic as well, so we have a few of our own classic Chevys. I have always been an avid reader, and finally decided to try my hand at writing after I heard a song. Yes, a song! It may sound silly, but that one song stirred up all of these ideas and emotions, that I began writing the ideas down so I would maybe, someday, actually DO something with it. I started writing my "Just Say Yes" series in October of 2012 and have completed three books for Andy and Zoey, hopefully to be released soon!
So I finished this book a few days ago, and it took me a lot of (courage) ...days before I post a review of this one because I am really busy, but then, here it is!
Running Away is the fourth book of Just Say Yes series, but you can also read it (since it can be also a standalone novel) if you haven't read the first three books (just like what I did).
I thought I wasn't going to like it, but then I'm wrong. I like it a lot, I LOVE IT so much! I enjoyed reading Running Away. In fact, I can finish this book within a day (but then I can't, because I'm busy at work), it's a fast-paced story, it has a lot of great and wonderful characters, amazing story line that you will surely love. And the fact that the story was delivered by two POVs made me love this book even more. The flow of the story was kind of dramatic and funny and heart breaking and very affectionate... and all I can feel was as if I am one of the characters, like I am in Teagan's shoes.
I love Teagan's character. It was like, she's the other version of "me". I can see through her - all of her heartaches, struggles in life. She's selfless, she always put the needs of her patients first before her own self. I admire her character so much, she's brave and bold for handling all the problems she had experienced (may it be about life or love). I hate Gary's character, I mean, I've always hated guys like him. Good thing, Teagan started to think wise. She deserves better than jerks like Gary... (and I'll just stop here to avoid spoilers haha)
As for Jeremy, well he's sweet. As I go on with his story, I found out that even if he keeps on doing those "things", he's really adorable, and caring, and loving and kind *insert all the sweet things about Jeremy*. He's one of the perfect example of a woman's ideal man.
They're a fit and good couple. I saw something between them that I haven't found in some characters from the other books. Jeremy and Teagan as a couple made me realize again and again that if two people are meant to be together, they will always find their way to each other, no matter what happens.
It's a must read guys! There are scenes that will make you laugh, and cry most of the time, and scenes that will make you want to kill someone or scenes that you will just let out a huge SIGH. ♥
I haven't read a book by Jen Andrews in too long! I'm glad I rectified that. I enjoyed Running Away so much, from the dual POVs to all of the fun and supportive side characters, it was such a great story. Teagan finally moved home after finding her boyfriend cheating with a friend of hers. She moved to get away from the drama. Little did she know she was walking straight into it back home. Jeremy is realizing what he really wants in life, that being a wife and a family. He's ready to settle down, and he knows it won't be with his current fling. When he meets a beautiful red headed nurse at the hospital, he knows she could be it. Not only were Jeremy and Teagan great, but their friends and family were pretty amazing. All of them were supportive and hilarious. No matter what was happening, and there was definitely some drama, they both had a wonderful support system to fall back on and help pick them up. This is definitely a story that I know I'll find myself picking up and reading again. I found myself not able to put this book down, even while my favorite show was on. Now, I have to catch up on all that I've been missing by Ms. Andrews.
This is my first book in this series and I honestly thought it was wonderful! There are plenty of unexpected moments in this book not to mention the very real emotion. That was something that I enjoyed along with the just the right amount of humor. Teagan goes through a lot in this book and grows a lot as she deals with her fears among other things. Jeremy also grows a lot and saved himself from me slapping him for some of his past transgressions. He does embarrass himself as he stumbles his way through figuring out the relationship. That is one of the things that made it all so much more real and honest for me. These characters are very real and their story could easily be one of a close friends. All in all I enjoyed this book and am planning on reading the entire series. *I received an ARC for my honest review. This review was originally posted on Blushing Reads
Running Away by Jen Andrews!!! Hummm, I didn't know what to think or what I was going to get out of this book when I started it. Only because I am a huge fan Of Andy and Zoey. However, I never doubted Jen would produce an outstanding book. I am a huge fan of Jeremy's now. Boy did he meet his match in his little red headed nurse Teagan. This was a great story and it was an emotional ride. I found myself so caught up in it that I could not put it down. The writing is wonderful. I love the banter that Jen puts in her books. I love how each character makes you love or hate them. I give this book five stars. I highly recommend it.
This romance is hot and cold and sometimes it feels like these 2 just can’t get it right. The lay out of the story is great we get back ground on both Teagan and Jeremy and get both point of views, personally I love books with both characters sides of the story. I did enjoy the book and the struggle for their perfect romance that they want so bad but just can’t seem to get right time after time. My rating is just in the middle because I didn’t LOVE this book but it was good. If you read the first 3 book of the just say yes series, this book has some of the same story line but with different predicaments and twists and turns. I would recommend for anyone to read either with the full Just Say Yes series or as a stand alone if you love a romance novel with the highs and lows.
I loved Zoey and Andy’s story so I just knew I would love this one too! I was right! The drama going on in this story is unbelievable. But it flowed effortlessly. There was not anything just thrown in for filler. It all make the story captivating. I just had to know what happened between these two characters. I was also very giddy when the “hoochie” got what was coming to her. Teagan is a very untrusting person after the way her last relationship ended. Then she is being harassed at work. She just isn’t having any luck. Fate has conspired against her. Jeremy knows there is something special about Teagan the first time he meets her. But he really has his work cut out for him. I love that he was willing to put the effort in. I love that Andy and Zoey are part of this story. It adds another level to Jeremy’s character that I don’t think would have been portrayed had they not been present. I also loved the secondary friend characters and the group involvement. Reese was awesome and I would love for him to get a book all to himself! I also loved Jackie and Nat. They had me laughing so hard I cried. I hope there is more in store for this series!

TRACY'S REVIEW 3.5 STARS
Jeremy James is nearing 30 and is every bit of a ladies man. All it took was one look at his new born niece and he decided he wanted to change his ways. He wanted to find someone and settle down. Enter Teagan Donnelly. The perfect girl who wanted nothing to do with him. She is coming off of a crappy relationship and her self-esteem is way down. That doesn’t stop Jeremy from trying to make her see how beautiful she really is.
Running Away had potential to be a cute love story. However, it didn’t quite do it for me. Teagan, for someone who was in her mid-20’s, was truly very whiney. She was an emotional rollercoaster, with more downs than ups. I could understand to a point why she acted the way she did but towards the end I was getting whiplash. She wanted to be with Jeremy, then she didn’t, then she did but couldn’t trust him. In the end I honestly thought Jeremy would be better off without her. So for me, this story fell short because I couldn’t connect with Teagan as a character and really got annoyed with her after a while.
I absolutely adored Andy and Zoey's journey in the Just Say Yes series so when I learned that Jen Andrews would be adding to it I knew it was going to be a must read for me. You don't have to read the other books either as this is a standalone tale. But I enjoyed seeing Andy and Z again, even though this book doesn't focus on the journey of their relationship.
I loved Teagan. She grew so much in this book. As life kept throwing her one curve ball after another she really came into her own. I found her sense of humor and kind, giving heart to be her biggest strength and weakness at the same time. She was selflessly devoted to her work and put her patients above everyone, even herself. Thankfully, she got the gutting slap in the face she needed to start to make some changes in her life. And when another blow comes her way she decided it was time to return to the place that she knew and loved the most, home. When the stars align and fate brings Teagan and Jeremy together for the first time, it is the most unlikely of circumstances. Yet neither can deny the instant connection they felt. Jeremy knows he wants to pursue this for some reason he can't explain and takes action. Too bad his attempt it thwarted by someone with their own agenda.
I really liked Jeremy and Teagan together. They just fit. There was a lightness to them that wasn't present without the other. The ease with which they opened up and shared with each other just showed how comfortable and connected they really were. The scenes with Nanna melted my heart. But of course, nothing good in either of their worlds can last. The scheming of others works to tear them apart. UGH! I wanted to jump into my book and wallop Cammie (you will too). This time Teagan had been pushed too far and in turn, Jeremy really spiraled out of control. There was so much back and forth between Jeremy and Teagan that I really didn't know what was going to happen. But I like that everyone that was involved in their relationship from Andy to Reese (Teagan's best friend) was part of it all. It took some tough love on Andy's part for him to wake up and see that he couldn't keep living in the same self destructive ways. And it took another heartbreak for Teagan to open her eyes as to what she really wanted for her future. I love how big she went for it. She knew it was all or nothing and played her best hand. I loved that she stunned Jeremy stupid!
Jen Andrews nailed it with this book. Running Away was such a fun and heartfelt story. There were the big moments that made me want to either strangle or hug someone. But the real charm of it came in the small moments. The neighborhood runs, the hilarious wake up from Reese and Teagan, the bond of friendship, the unconditional love between family and a white picket fence.
Jen Andrews had me absolutely giddy with this book. Jeremy and Teagan’s story was completely different from Zoey and Andy’s, and a perfect reflection of these two characters. I had a feeling I was really going to enjoy getting to know Jeremy, but I had no idea what to expect from Teagan. It didn’t take long before I was completely immersed in Running Away, enjoying the genuine emotion, unexpected moments, and delightful humor of Teagan and Jeremy’s journey. I’m so glad we got to see more of Zoey and Andy. It felt like coming home to old friends. Jen Andrews did a great job with giving both Teagan and Jeremy their own, distinctive voices; Running Away was unquestionably Teagan and Jeremy’s story with the added bonus of being set within a family I already loved.
Poor Teagan was really put through the ringer in this book. Her character was tormented by both old fears and new foes, ensuring that her personal journey would be anything but easy. I loved the growth that Jen Andrew nurtured in this character. Her development was done in a way that felt raw and authentic. The insecurities, self-doubt, and hesitancy to be vulnerable that she experienced made her someone who was tangible, someone the readers could easily relate to. Jeremy proved to be serious book boyfriend material in his own right. Despite the many times I had the urge to slap him for his past mistakes, Jeremy quickly won my heart with his transformation over the course of the story. I adored watching him stumble and repeatedly embarrass himself as he tried to figure out what an adult relationship required and what it really meant to settle down and plan a future.
Running Away threw me for a loop several times, surprising me with the events that unfolded. Jen Andrews paced this story so as to simultaneously allow the reader to soak in the emotionally significant moments and remain entirely engaged in the story. Running Away had me laughing at the flirty banter and silly moments between Jeremy and Teagan one minute and nervous with anticipation the next. Jen Andrews made me feel Teagan’s incredible vulnerability at times and conjured up absolute outrage at certain devious characters in others. This story was a very visceral experience, my connection to the characters making me feel this story all the way through. Jen Andrews continues to impress me with her growth as a writer and creativity as a storyteller. In Running Away she hooked me once again with her charming characters, witty dialogue, and heartfelt emotion.
Running Away by Jen Andrews is definitely on the top ten list for emotional trauma for 2015. Seriously. Running Away is an extremely well-written. heartfelt novel that was gut wrenching, and a once in a lifetime love between main characters Jeremy James, and Teagan Donnelly. I could not set this book down once I started it, and finished it in record sped of 5 hours in one sitting. Jen Andrews did such an amazing job bringing two broken characters to life in this novel, that I really cannot wait to read what comes after this.
Teagan Donnelly has had enough of being broken hearted. Walking in on her boyfriend, Gary, of multiple years together with her best friend in their bed sends her over the edge. Realizing that he isn't what she wants - or has wanted for a long time for that matter - she is told by Gary to pack her thins, and get out by the time he returns home from work. Already having the start to a crappy day, Teagan packs her things, all the while wondering where in the world she went wrong. Moving in with her only friend left in Denver, Reese, she figures this may be a good beginning to her new start.
As always though, something happens in her already shattered world, and she must make the move back to Sacramento California where her Nanna has had a stroke, and is placed in a home where she will received round the clock care. Leaving her life in Denver behind, Teagan begins anew with a new job at the hospital, new friends, and her family. She doesn't tell them of the things Gary did, nor does she want to; she was never really that happy with him, and she doesn't want her family to worry about her.
Enter Jeremy James. Oh, Lord. I have an ex by the name of Jeremy, and I originally balked when I first read his name. There was no way I could go on through this novel with that name constantly invading my thoughts. I am SO glad that I pushed through it though. There were some absolutely great, and caring moments throughout the book that made Jeremy show Teagan that he did in fact care, and love for her in more ways than one. Jeremy has done his wrong in his life, and with Teagan and he has to prove to her that he is what she needs; after all, he needs her in his life because he feels incomplete without her.
Things take a turn, and wow. Let me just say that you HAVE to pick up this book. My reviews for the other books in the series, The Reason, Just Say Yes, and Beautiful With You, will all be posted on Goodreads as well as Amazon this coming weekend. This is one author you do NOT want to miss out on.
“I dropped to my knees in front of her, cupped her pretty face in my hands, and kissed her goodbye. ‘Lay down, sleepyhead,’ I said soothingly. ‘I’ll be back to get you after work.’ She did as I said, and I covered her up. Sh was out just after her head hit the pillow.”
5 stars! This was such a beautifully written book!! I really enjoyed reading this series and this book as well! Great character development and the story flowed so well.

After the birth of his niece, Hannah, and a not so gentle nudge from his sister, Zoey, Jeremy decides to make a change in his life and settle down.

For Jeremy, it’s plain and simple. He wants Teagan to stop running away and give him a chance. But for Teagan, taking a chance with Jeremy means she could lose herself all over again.
Jeremy is perfectly content with the way his life is going, he has to answer to no one. No women, nothing. Women come and go out of his life whenever he gets tired of them. And even though he does this he feel like he’s missing out on things. Once he meets his niece for the first time after his sister gives birth, he realizes what he’s missing. He’s now realizing he’s ready to settle down and start a family. He then meets Teagan and even though he’s infatuated with her, she wants nothing to do with Jeremy. Teagan is protecting her heart after being cheated on by her boyfriend of three years, not to mention the way he treated her. Beaten down mentally, she has no idea why a guy like Jeremy would want someone like her. And Jeremy is determined to show her what he sees when he looks at her!! I can’t stress how much this book meant to me!!! I loved this book from page one!!! It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

I have read the other books in this series, so before I even flicked to the first page I knew I was going to love these guys and boy was I right. Every family has one, well maybe not a playboy but the one member of the family that is just a little bit outside the rest, for the James family that was Jeremy. The singleton of the brood with absolutely no desire to change his status anytime soon, or so he thought. Because seeing his sister settled with spending time with his niece has this devout bachelor, seriously reviewing the way he lives his life. Then you get Teagan and I have to say that initially I was a little scared about how I would feel about her. On the rebound and on the run from a cheating boyfriend, means that Teagan is now in Sacramento but will a chance meeting between her and Jeremy have her hitting the road again or will she see that not all guys are the same. From the first instant, Jeremy knew there was something different about the way Teagan made him feel and if she was being honest she would admit that she felt the same. As much as Jeremy was willing to dive straight in to a relationship, the thought of it had her swinging on her heels, could she possibly allow herself that happiness, could she accept what Jeremy was offering and not let her sense of foreboding and vulnerability knock her back? She has a problem though, because as much as everything negative is swilling around in her head, she cannot deny that she is attracted to Jeremy and he is damn sure he isn’t going to let her go without a fight. He may have been a bit of a lush in the past but having already decided to change his ways, he was prepared to work his butt off to get his girl and I loved seeing the effort he was prepared to put in. She was worth it, it was just a shame that she didn’t she see what he did in her. Now their path was not without its fair share of hiccups but that is when you know you have something worth having – you are prepared to work at it! The story swept along at an even pace and was beautifully written, I liked the fact that the characters from the previous book, especially Zoey and Andy were back, they were definitely my favourite characters to date. There were also some secondary characters that captured my attention, namely Reece – loved him!
Running Away if the 4th book in the Just Say Yes series by Jen Andrews. It can be read as a stand-alone or as part of the series. Running Away follows the story of Jeremy James, brother of Zoey James Tate, who was featured in books 1-3. Let me just start by saying that I really enjoyed the first three books of this series but this one blew me out of the water. I absolutely loved Running Away! Jeremy has used women for one thing only-sex but after seeing his sister Zoey and her husband Andy with their new born daughter, Jeremy decides he wants more. He wants someone in his life to love and share special moments with like his sister and brother-in-law. Several months later, even though he has been dating someone, Jeremy meets a nurse in the ER when he was getting stitches from an accident at the shop and it enticed by not only her beauty but her personality. Teagan has been hurt one too many times; she has sworn off relationships after being cheated on more than once. She thinks the mechanic she just treated in the ER is cute but know nothing will become of it. Out for a night of socializing with her co-workers, Teagan and Jeremy cross paths again and sparks fly. Jeremy and Teagan begin dating after many disastrous events happen surrounding their relationship and not including the harassment Teagan is experiencing at the hospital from the hands of Jeremy’s ex-girlfriend and her friends. Can Jeremy and Teagan’s relationship survive and will they find their ways back to each other…..you’ll have to read Running Away to find out. As I stated earlier, I loved this book. It had romance, happiness, sadness, and about every other emotional possible. The story was incredibly written; I was emotionally vested with both the characters of both Teagan and Jeremy. As I continued reading, I didn’t know if they would ever find their way back to happiness, especially with each other. (I seriously thought about e-mail Jen and laying into her; I was that unhappy with the way the story was progressing at one time but luckily, she redeemed herself). Running Away left me with a big book hangover; simply put, it was just that good. Beautifully written doesn’t even begin to sum it up.
It was a 5 star infinity-plus as a contemporary romance-excellent work Jen!
I have to say this is my first book in the Just Say Yes Series. Yes it is part of a Series, but it can be read as a standalone. This author has captured what a great love story is. Through the good times and bad times, from getting the butterflies when you first meet someone to the inevitable heartbreak in a relationship and just trying to find yourself and what you want in life, Jen Andrews has given all of it.
Teagan Donnelly has not had the best luck when it comes to relationships. Due to her past she has stayed away from them, focusing on her job and family until one day when she has the pleasure of helping to stitch up Jeremy James, the one man that could possibly change everything in her life if she allows him in.
“When I entered the exam room, I found a very good-looking man holding a white, bloodstained towel to his forehead. Quickly, I washed my hands and retrieved a pair of medical gloves from the box. The man was casually resting back on the exam table as if being there was no big deal. I fact, he appeared to be sleeping. He was wearing a dark blue work uniform so he must have been hurt on the job. “Hey there,” I said quietly. Stepping closer to him, and pulling my gloves on. “Looks like you have yourself a nasty cut from the amount of blood on that towel.” His body jerked slightly as if I’d startled him. He opened his eyes slowly and rotated his head to face me. Holy crap, he is gorgeous. I stood in awe for a moment and stared at him. The funny thing was, he was staring back at me. Interesting…”
Jeremy James is the player in his family. But after seeing his new niece and falling in love with her and seeing what his sister Zoey has, Jeremy decides that it is time to change his life for the better and wants to settle down. But his new relationship is not exactly what he wants, and after meeting a gorgeous red head nurse he now knows what he wants, but she doesn’t want him. Now he must show her that when he says that he wants her he means it and that she is the only woman he wants.
Can Teagan let go of her past and let Jeremy in, or will everything they can have together just get thrown away?
Trust is such a hard thing to give when it has been broken more than once by one person.

We are all creatures of habits, so why ruin something that satisfies everyone involved? That is, of course, until you find them in bed with your best friend. Then you run them out of the house with a pitch fork or an actual fork or five and drive them where it hurts the most. So when Teagan starts blaming herself for what happens, I’m boiling and then think again, knowing we’ve all been there, wondering, where in the past what we’ve done wrong to our significant other to hurt us in such a way and feel no regret. And then we shame ourselves for the way we look or how we feel; I believe that is our worst quality, our capacity to shame and hate our bodies to such an extreme that we can’t believe that gorgeous men not love how our minds work, but that our bodies are sexy as hell. For those reasons and so much more, Jen Andrews Just Say Yes series book 4, Running Away, is an amazing read, that shows and inspires belief to non believers (and I`ll raise my hand to admit my fault) that no matter your size, your shape or even your faults, there will always be that special someone out there waiting for you. . **Received a copy in exchange for an honest review. Everyone knew that Jeremy was the playboy of the James family. He is the only one in his family that is not married or doesn't has a stable relationship. He started to get serious when Zoey, his sister, started talking to him and he also also change his way of seeing life because of his niece. Teagan on the other hand goes to Sacramento after she is running away from her cheating boyfriend.
When Jeremy and Teagan meet they feel a connection and a spark they cant forget. After they both started developing feeling for each other, Jeremy is ready to tell the world that he has found true love but Teagan on the hand is afraid to be vulnerable again. She is running away from everything to keep her heart safe but Jeremy is determined not to let her go.
Jeremy and Teagan make a great couple. Although the book may seem cliche because a playboy turns into a good guy I liked the fact that he didn't needed Teagan to chance his ways. He was determined to get serious and start from scratched from his past before the heroine appear. He changed his ways when his niece arrived and that is totally sweet.
I loved this book, it was my favorite of the series. In the previous books Andy captivated my heart from the beginning but Jeremy definitely stole it. Jen Andrews again made me love the characters since the beginning. The story is well written and it flows really good. I loved the character of Jeremy since the other books because he always cared and treated his sister the right way (the other ones too but he was mentioned to do more special things). This is a spinoff novel and even though the characters are connected to the previous books this one in particular can be read as a standalone. This is story also contains more information about Andy, Zoey and their little girl future. I recommend it as a to be read novel.
*****Kim's Review!***** I received an ARC for my honest review.
I am a major fan of this series and when I found out this book was going to be released I was ecstatic!! At the time I was just thinking yay we get to see more Zoey and Andy, but reading this book I fell in love with Jeremy and Teagan! Running away follows Zoeys brother Jeremy as he decides the manwhore life just isn't what he wants anymore and meets the gorgeous red head Teagan! There's an instant connection from their very first meeting, but with Teagan's history with her cheating ex, and Jeremy's lack of experience in the relationship department, the two are in for a very rough ride and some major heartache! There was quite a few times that I choked up and a number of times I felt like punching someone!
I love Jen Andrews writing style and love how she can pull me into the story and keep me captivated! I didn't even realise what time it was and then bang I've finished the book! I feel this series has ended perfectly and it will always be one of my favourites! This one is not to be missed! Five stars!

Running Away is the 4th book in just say yes series by Jen Andrews, I really enjoyed Zoey and Andy 's story so I knew I would be hooked this booked also. And boy was I. The drama going on in this story is unbelievable but it flowed nicely through out the story. Poor Teagan was put through the crusher in this book. Her character was tormented by both old fears and foes. And it seemed her personal life journey would be anything but easy. I truly loved the growth Jen Andrews nurtured in this character, her development was gone a way that felt raw and authentic. Jeremy proved to a serious book boyfriend who was material in his own right. There was parts in the book as I was reading that just make me or urged me bitch slap Jeremy for his past mistakes, but in the end Jeremy quickly won my heart with his transformation's as I kept reading. And I laughed and adored watching him stumble and how he repeatedly embarrass himself as he tried to figure out an adult relationship required him to do and act. He had to learn to settle down and plan a future. Author Jen Andrews threw me for a loop with this story several times and her events surprised me as they unfolded. The pace in this story was so simultaneously, that it allowed the readers to soak up all the emotionally moments. And still be a engaged in the story. As I'm reading this book the Running Away story it had me laughing at the flirty banter and the silly moments that those two people one minute and the nervous with anticipation the next. I could go on and tell you more about this couple but that spoil the book for you and that's not fair so pick up a copy and enjoy it over the weekend with a glass of wine.
I'm a fan of this whole series but this is the best book in my opinion.
Teagan moves to Sacramento looking for new experiences and running away from a cheating boyfriend and the betrayal of her best friend. While working at the ER she meets Jeremy James.
At the time of their meeting, Jeremy is dating a nurse at the same hospital where Teagan works, but he's dating her more because of the pressure his family, specially his sister has been putting on him to settle down, than because he has any real feelings for her. But the moment he meets Teagan he feels the spark, an attraction he wants to pursue. But most times things are not as easy as they look and these two characters are put through the ringer throughout the course of their relationship.
Old and new insecurities stop Teagan from giving herself fully to Jeremy, external circumstances stand on her way day in and day out making it almost impossible for their relationship to work out.
I love Jen's writing style, it definitely flows and she lets her characters relate their story with clarity and in a very candid manner. I absolutely loved the love and adoration Jeremy has for his family and specially his goddaughter, in the end is that love that comes to save him in a moment when he needed it the most.
This is a story that will keep the reader captivated from beginning to end, it also comes to prove that circumstances might keep soulmates apart for a while but when two people are meant to be, nothing will stand in the way of their true happiness.
WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! I LOVED Running Away, even though it almost killed me. I'm still a wreck. Congrats on making the list of authors trying to kill me Jen Andrews.
Jeremy James is almost 30 years old, but he's doing as he pleases. He's a bit of a manwhore, but lately he's starting to realize something's missing. After his sister points it out, he decides to make changes, and settle down. Teagan has come home after a disastrous 3 year relationship with a man who cheated, and mentally abused her by tearing her down constantly. Now she has serious trust issues. When Teagan meets Jeremy in the ER that she works at, there's an instant connection, however she can't figure out what he would want with her. For him, it's simple, he wants her to give him a chance. Will Teagan stop running long enough to take a chance on love?
OMG HELP ME! Jeremy and Teagan's story was nearly the death of me. The serious angst in their journey was like a throat punch that took my breath away. I'm an emotional mess, with a huge book hangover. The character development was spot on and perfect. The twists left me feeling like strangling someone, or cussing out the author. There were such sweet romantic moments, and the chemistry was SMOKIN! Jen Andrews wrote a brilliant story line that was captivating, and flowed effortlessly. Nothing could have made me put it down. CANNOT WAIT to read more from this talented author.
This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. This one is about Zoey's brother Jeremy who has been living the life as a bachelor only having girls who are friends with benefits. One day that changes when he goes to visit Zoey after she has her baby. Seeing Zoey and Andy's relationship makes him want to settle down. Teagan just got out of a bad relationship and it didn't end nicely either. She is working in the ER and meets Jeremy, they have an instant connection but she doesn't think he's interested in her. What she doesn't know is that he tries to get her info and leaves her a note. One night they end up seeing each other at a bar and they talk and hit it off but when she goes to the bathroom she is told things about him that make her take off without saying anything to him. Will they be able to make a relationship work? What happens when her worst fears come true? Will Jeremy make her realize that he was innocent? Will they be able to get past all the hurts and make a relationship work or will they go back to their old ways?
I have loved every book in this series and this one did not disappoint. I highly recommend this book and the rest in the series. Jen's writing style is amazing and I get so sucked into the books and feel their every emotion. Don't miss out on these books!!!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
There's an instant connection from their very first meeting, but with Teagans history with her cheating ex, and Jeremy's lack of experience in the relationship department, the two are in for a very rough ride and some major heartache!
Five stars!
As I'm sure some of you already know I just did a review for Just Say Yes by Jen Andrews. I'm sure you also know I just wasn't that into it. However since I won the entire series I wasn't ready to give up quite yet. Since book 4 was somewhat of a stand alone with the focus on a different set of characters I figured I would give it a try. Running Away was far better in my opinion then the previous books. I enjoyed the characters much more. This one was all about Zoey's brother Jeremy. The playboy that everyone was trying to get to settle down. Well after a trip to the ER to get stitched up after a hit in the head, he ends up falling hard and fast for the pretty red headed nurse that helped fix him up. Nothing and I mean nothing goes right for most of the book. Tons of drama to say the least. It was all done in a way that didn't leave me annoyed though. So it all worked out well with out me wanting to smack the characters upside the head to much. It was a HEA though and I loved the ending to their story. Zoey also didn't annoy me in this book so there was that!lol
Based on the reviews, everyone is loving this book. When I read the description on this book I was super excited to read it.
I didn't read the first three books in the series, but this book was a spin-off and reading the previous books was not necessary.
I couldn't stand this book. I tried, I really did. I couldn't finish it, (which never happens to me) I got to 39% or chapter 11. The book might get better after, since I didn't finish I can't be sure. Maybe it's one of those slow moving books, which I know some people love. I mean look at the reviews as of right now (other than this review) this book is only getting 4 to 5 stars.
Teagan keeps running away at every turn and I know that's because of her past with her dad and her ex-boyfriend, but it just wasn't believable to me. How could she not see that Cammie was just being a spoiled little girl? Jeremy never fought for her. If his feelings were so true, why didn't he go to the hospital to talk to her. He said he wanted to talk to her and find out why she keeps running, but he really didn't do anything about it.
Jeremy James was the last of the James' siblings to give up his single life. He loved working with his brothers and sister in their family business. After the birth of his niece he realizes he wants to meet that special someone and settle down. First thing, meet a girl...Cammie. Cammie is not really what he is looking for and then he meets Teagan. She is a nurse at the same hospital as Cammie. He tries his best to find out more about Teagan and breaks up with Cammie. This relationship seems doomed from the start, with misunderstandings and no communication. Teagan seems to fit right in with his family and him. They both have to fight demons of their past and push forward but love is not always easy.
I absolutely loved this book and have read all of them in this series. I loved and hated Jeremy all at the same time. This book is a good ending to the series. I would recommend it.
I received a copy of Running Away by Jen Andrews in exchange for an honest review for Through the Booking Glass Book Blog. 4.5 AMAZING STARS! Let me tell you.. I absolutely freaking loved this book. I was head over heels for the first three books of this series and could not wait to read more! Jeremy James does his own thing. He isn’t the type to settle down or have a relationship until he met Teagen. Instantly he knew he wanted to have a house, family, and life with her. Teagen has major trust issues. Will the rumors and messy girls stand in the way of their life together? Hmmm. I loved the face that Andy and Zoey were so involved in this book. Even though they weren’t the main characters I loved that I was able to find out what happened next in their lives. You did it again Jen. I lost many hours of sleep cramming to find out what would happen next. Bravo!
Jen Andrews has a way with her writing style It is how she can pull you into the story and keep you reading the story. I feel this series has ended wonderful, you don’t have to read the other books either as this is a standalone tale. But do recommend to read the entire series. We meet Teagan who had heard some hard knocks in her life, cheating boyfriend, abuse. When she heads home to take care of her Nan, she get a job at the local ER. Where she meets Jeremy, she feels attract to him. She just can’t trust her feeling for anyone after her last abusive relationship. Jeremey has had a free care life, get any women he wants but nothing permeant. They have some hurtles that they both must overcome. Will they be able to fight what demons are holding over their heads? OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE BOOK Recommend read * I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review *
After reading the first three books in the Just Say Yes series, I was very excited to read this one as well.
In the first three books the readers learned about Zoey and Andy. In Running Away, we got a look at Jeremy, Zoey's brother.
With only a few months until turning 30 years old and seeing his sister married and having a daughter, Jeremy decides it's time to grow up.
Teagan is a 27 year old living in Denver with her boyfriend. She has a very stressful job as a hospices nurse. After finding out for boyfriend and best friend betrayed her, she moves by home with her parents.
After a 'wonderful' accident at work, Jeremy heads to the ER and meets a fiery red hair.
This is a great spin off to Zoey and Andy's books. I'm excited to read more and hopefully meeting more of the James' family.
