I would give this book 2.5 stars. Lucy manages to get her best friend back, even after he discovers her biggest secret. I didn't like the ending because I felt that there is more to their story and the book just kind of left me hanging
Reading the Fated Series was a rollercoaster ride in the funnest way possible, you definitely have a change of emotions, but the best part is these books will keep you laughing and smiling with almost every page, YOU WILL BE HOOKED! These books made me wish I had an inkling of a bestfriend like Aiden, their chemistry, sarcasm and playfulness is contagious in the best way possible, but for now I'll live vicariously through them lol. I wished another ending happened, but I guess that would've been a cliche ending. I would definitely recommend this book to ALL my romance novel lovers out there you definitely won't regret it.
Synopsis ~ Lucy and Aiden have been best friends since they were kids.
So Lucy's had plenty of practice ignoring his handsome features, athletic body, and wicked sense of humour, which is for the best. After all, they've been in the friend zone so long there's no hope of escaping it.
At least, that's what Lucy keeps telling herself...
Thoughts ~ Five short books to complete a story. I needed something quick and short to get over a bit of a reading slump. Not the most amazing book I've ever read but something that I needed!
I got the first two books some time back and didn’t realize that there were 5 books in this series. (I can’t stand it when and author splits up a book into chapters and sells them as novellas) This read as a chapter to me. It had a beginning introduction and the starting of a plot and then just stops. Guess what… though, I liked the story (as a whole) Friends to lovers stories are one of my favs.
I liked this series a lot. The best friends to lovers genre is one I love. The heroine came across as very insecure and negative which is reflected by her thought process with regard to her relationship with Aiden. I liked Aiden as a hero. I would have preferred the books to be all in one rather than spread out into 5 books. I am glad that these books were available on kindle unlimited.
Like many of her series I have read they are drawn out over many books. If I was to buy them consecutively I would be very disappointed with how much they cost for the quantity and quality they provide. They start slowly and end quickly.
This book was witty and and entertaining in that way but still not worth the cost and time.
Finally Aiden and Lucy are on the same track. This was once again a good story but much too short. This was too many short stories strung out to make a series and of course allowing the author to cash in on something that should have been one or two books at the most. Would save the author money on book covers if this were only a 2-book rather than 5.
This series could've been told in 1 book. The author dragged out the story and added so many meaningless chapters that I skipped through much of it just to get to the ending. I find that the ending was also rushed. No, I wouldn't recommend this book.
I don’t usually give 5 stares because that means perfect, but I loved the story of Aiden and Lucy so much. I hope the author will eventually write a story in their future 2- 5 years. I would love to see how their businesses fare and see their wedding/marriage.
I've read all 5 books in 15 hours, with 2 kids. That's how good they are. I would have liked a little bit of an idea where they were at 12 months down the line but that's because I love HEA's
Great book series. The whole 5 books is really just 1 big book. Each new book starts from the exact same position the last book ends. Good story/characters, funny, nicely passed, little secret in there to keep it interesting.
I don’t know why it was in five part because it’s just been in one book. It was okay kind of didn’t really end properly. Could’ve been an epilogue but it was okay. Don’t think I’d read it again.
wow this series was written so well all the suspense and ups and down to bring the story full circle. A few unanswered questions but that means more to the story so maybe more to come
OMG. This is the last in the series, and the best way to end. For me I think it could have been put into one book or maybe two. It's a quick and easy read well worth a read.
This series has everything you could want in a book. Fell in love with them as they tested unknown waters. Humor, passion, pain and joy were in abundance.
I'm hoping that most of you know that this is the last book in the Fated Series, and I have to tell you that with what I have read so far I honestly love it and I hope you will too.
We start off in this book with Lucy coming back from Aiden sister's wedding and with the look of her face you can tell that things happened between her and Aiden during the weekend. Now that Aiden has forgiven Lucy everything seems to be going well and now that Aiden is fully informed with why the police wanted to speak to her he can't hide how upset he is that things got that bad at Lucy's work.
As Lucy prepares to go to work on the Monday morning the last thing that she was expecting was to be turning away clients as the salon has been closed until further notice, so when she does head back to her apartment and lets Fiona know what's happened they both end up going into a little bit of a depression mode but that's only because now they have to look for another job instead of nearly getting to have the chance of opening up her own. When Aiden does next speak to Lucy he is honestly shocked that she didn't tell him sooner about not being able to work at the salon anymore, so when he is looking at the two properties that he is considering buying, he can't help but want to try and help Lucy get her own dream too.
Will Lucy realise that Aiden is only trying to help her because of how much she makes him happy and will she accept his help when she is given the chance to live her dream. And will their new found relationship be worth the risk or will it damage everything they've ever known. This is an amazing series, one that you really don't want to miss out on. Hazel Kelly you have really outdone yourself this time, keep up the amazing writing you do.
What is more important friendship or the possibility of more?Lucy’s life consist of: work, her dating life and her best friend Aiden.
All of which have some type of hiccup. Either with her boss, her horrible dates from Tinder, and having a long time crush on the one guy that she can never have. He has broken her heart enough times as friends by choosing other women to date over her. She has finally came to terms with being happy with the way their relationship is. The last thing Lucy would ever want it to lose the one person that means the most to her over wanting more than friendship.
Aiden lost almost everything. Between his professional Ruby career and the respect from his family, he struggles to find joy and balance. He knows of only one constant thing in his life, Lucy. She has been his support through everything and has never looked down on him for quitting rugby. He has always dated the model types – ones with no brains, don’t eat anything, and only use him for his trust-fund. After realizing the wrong women he keeps dating he begins to see Lucy as more than just his longtime friend. He is determined to win Lucy over, but one thing is standing in his way, Lucy.
Lucy and Aiden made awesome characters in this story. Their transition from friends to lovers included some very realistic problems and some very humorous ones. The secondary characters added humor and drama. I liked almost everything about this story except sometimes the author inserts some truly bizarre phrases in this story. I don't want to give examples because I feel it is inappropriate for me to give up any of the story. Some of the character's thoughts were downright oxymoronic. Also, the sex scenes revolved around the oral side too much and were a bit repetitious. I appreciate the difficulty of making a love scene sexy but these scenes needed some loving. I'm glad I stuck with the series even though I still have issues with the way the different parts of the story were broken up. I would have paid about six dollars for the entire series. It doesn't make my favorites list but it was enjoyable. You have to begin with #1 or the story will make no sense. Worth the read. Happy reading my fellow bookworms!
So after finishing all five books I am sad that I read them and bought them. Not worth the money. They could have been one book. I liked that each chapter was from the others perspective however time in the book did not flow correctly and was like never mentioned. What could have happened over a series of days happened over a series of moths of weeks. Also when they finally do hook up in the fourth book it is still awkward for them. They have been best friends for 15 years and yet when she gets fired in book five she waits to days to tell the guy she is supposedly in love with what happened. This book was not realistic and was just not that good of a read. The main character Lucy was a whinny baby through out all five books. I do not recommend this book series it was lack luster in every aspect!
