An analysis of Rod Serling's career. This volume includes his service in WWII, accusations of plagiarism by Ray Bradbury. Also discussed is Serling's work for the federal government.
I'm very impressed by the thoroughness of this book;the meticulous research and access to private writings is amazing. Sure, I've known about Rod Serling and The Twilight Zone my entire life. I remember vividly sitting with my brother in front of the TV watching the show and marveling at the stories, wondering what twist was to come. But I had no idea there was so, so much more behind the man. This is a fascinating and deep read, yet the author does a great job of keeping it light, entertaining and approachable.
Serling has always been a hero of mine, so it was great to get this insight into the intersection of his life, work, and principles through a few different circumstances. Glad I ran across a mention of this in The Making of Donald Trump (as the author is the daughter of David Cay Johnston). Bring on the next Unknown volume!
Very detailed and interesting. Serling wrote thoughtfully and with passion. He looked and listened to each side allowing the reader to make their own decisions. Wish we had more like him today
