He's the love of her life...and the one man she can never have.
Amelia Kade is ready to grow up. She’s loved the same man since she was young, and it’s time to let go of her hopeless childhood crush. Especially because he isn’t just any man—he’s her father’s best friend. Her godfather. Even if he did want her (which he absolutely doesn’t) their relationship is forbidden.
Matis Moreau is ready for something new. He’s been running a kink club in Paris for the last thirty years, and it’s time to move on. The only problem is…he doesn’t have anything to move on to. He’s a lonely fifty-three-year-old man in desperate need of a life.
Then, one day his best friend’s daughter devises a plan. Amelia will find him a real partner, and in return, he’ll help her find a man worthy of her charm and beauty. But no matter how hard they try—no matter how many dates they set each other up on—no one else can measure up. They're both falling hard for the one person they definitely shouldn't touch.
And once they give in to illicit temptation, the fire between them may prove so strong it’ll burn everything to the ground…
Sara Cate is a USA Today best-selling author of steamy romance and sexy book boyfriends. Although she writes a wide range of tropes, Sara is best known for her age gap and taboo romances. One thing you can expect from her entire collection is heaps of steam and plenty of angst.
Living in Arizona with her husband and kids, Sara spends most of her time reading, writing, or baking.
Sara Cate can do no wrong! If she writes it, I just know I’m going to love it!
Amelia has always had a crush on her godfather, Matis. He’s a natural charmer who has always been sexually open but detached from relationships. When he mentions wanting to start dating seriously, Amelia agrees to help him set up an online dating profile in exchange for lessons on men and what to look for in a good boyfriend.
Amelia has it bad, bad! Sis has been in love with this man forever. And I get it. He says and does all the right things. When she offered to help him, I was like, what is she doing?! It sounded like torture to me, but it definitely created forced proximity with her helping him. I absolutely love a forbidden romance, and given how sexually open Amelia’s social circle seems to be, I don’t think this arrangement felt weird to her.
Matis has the most charisma of any MMC I’ve ever read. This man is dripping in seduction. Add to that a sultry French accent?! Literally, my jaw dropped when I heard him talk. I do not blame Amelia for one second for falling for this man! I loved his tortured reactions to wanting Amelia. It felt genuine to how he was feeling, and I loved how their relationship progressed.
You know eventually their relationship will be discovered, but the way it went down was pure drama. The last quarter of this book was filled with angst and hope. I loved it so much!
This book is full cast narrated by Sean Masters, Desiree Ketchum, Brandon Francis, Samantha Brentmoor, and Aaron Shedlock. They knocked it out of the park! The inflection and personality each narrator brought to their performance truly brought the story to life. The narrator for Matis’s character was amazing! I loved them all, but you won’t forget Matis!
Thank you so much to Sara Cate and Hambright PR for providing me with the ALC and ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
EDIT: Wtf is wrong with people? This is my review and rating. I know this isn't cheating, but this is a trigger/thing I don't like too read and many other people doesn't wanna read about an MMC that has ON PAGE sex with OW/OM.
I have skimmed the story and it isn't one time only...maybe not everyone likes this story?!
When Matis Moreau admits he’s grown bored of one-night stands, his goddaughter, Amelia Kade, offers to help him create a dating profile. What he doesn’t know is that she’s hoping he’ll finally settle down so she can, once and for all, put her crush on him to bed.
Matis is charming and exudes sexuality, while Amelia is far from a prude, she just hasn’t had much opportunity to explore her own sexuality. And the result? So. Much. Push and pull.
I loved watching this go from “This is probably a terrible idea” to “Oh shit, these two are actually it for each other.” Given the complicated nature of their relationship and the inevitable judgment they’d face because of their history, the angst felt earned. It came from who these characters were and the situation they were in, rather than an obstacle manufactured simply to keep them apart.
I’m not sure what was in the water with my reads this week, but apparently sharing is the theme because we had a sitch in this one, too. Ultimately, the context made it easier for me to roll with, and it didn’t significantly change how I felt about the story. But man, I really, really hate sharing when it’s outside the committed relationship. 😂

I love a forbidden Age Gap story and Sara Cate really does excel at them! I loved Matis and Amelia's journey to get together. I thought it was a beautiful friendship first and foremost. I truly believe the reason she had such a crush on him was because of their relationship and how attentive and supportive Matis was of her dreams. Add in what a hunk of a Silver Fox he is (another SC specialty, and how can Amelia help herself?)
He also was so tender and loving with his mother, that really touched my heart as well. He was just such a gentleman. Matis may be living a promiscuous life, be he's intitled to that, and I think without knowing it, he was waiting for a girl like Amelia to shock his system and give him some focus again.
Amelia was a very fun character. She had determination. For both her dream in fashion and her dream of having Matis as her man. I loved that about her. I also appreciated the depiction of her ADHD. It was great to read.
I will mention, it does kind of irk me that no CWs or TWs were but in the front of this book. I realize why there aren't any for the sexual Content, as this is a Sara Cate, erotic romance. I love those parts and I don't need to be told to expect anything can happen. But parents with dementia are a very serious and painful thing to be surprised with, so I would have appreciated not being surprised with that. I double and triple checked, since I read an ARC, and I did not find that warning anywhere. Her website CWs haven't been updated in awhile and I just think it's important to do. They haven't been updated since The Home Wrecker.
Sorry for the little rant, but it was painful to read about Matis' mother when I wasn't expecting it. That's the whole point of TWs.
As you'll notice, I still gave the book a great rating, I'm not trying to dump on SC, I love her books. Just bringing awareness.
I listened to an ALC of this book and I was savoring every second. I loved the Full Cast audio which was led by Sean Masters & Desiree Ketchum. Supported by Brandon Francis, Samantha Brentmoor, and Aaron Shedlock. A wonderful ensemble!
4.5 Stars 3 on the spice scale
CW: OM & OW are with the H at different points during the book, both before they couple is together AND once in a consensual kink situation. Voyuerism, Daddy Kink, and dirty talk. Parent with Dementia. ADHD Rep.
*Thank you to the author for an ALC & ARC of this title.*
It was ok I like Sara cate and I was excited for the book but it lost me around page 200 something when Amelia basically said Matis can sleep with other people as long as she can watch.
I get she likes to watch ppl ok but to me it kinda just felt like she was saying that bc he KEPT bringing how he wasn’t loyal, never has been loyal to one person and didn’t know if he could be loyal to her and I felt like she wanted him regardless if he wanted to be with other people.
She did say in the book basically it solves their problem of him not knowing if he could be with one person his whole life and her wanting to watch but why couldn’t they watch people together and get off to that ?
He did say he only wanted her and she kind of kept pushing him, and I feel like she really only pushed him because of him constantly saying that he didn’t know if he could be with just one person and her being in love with him and wanting him regardless of him being loyal so she wanted to compromise for him but I feel like you shouldn’t have to compromise on loyalty if you’re in love.
I do like a romance with some jealousy and touch her and you die vibe so could be why I stopped reading half way through.
She was basically like a female cuck.
Like they just told eachother they’re in-love next thing you know he’s getting sucked off by geo while she watched from afar idk this one just wasn’t for me. And why was she fine with geo sucking him off but not the girl dancing on him after she TOLD him to flirt with her ? lol
𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦: ♥︎ 2ⁿᵈ generation series ♥︎ paris, france 🇫🇷 ♥︎ kink sex club ♥︎ forbidden ♥︎ godfather x goddaughter ♥︎ age gap: he’s older (F25/M53) ♥︎ friends to lovers
Amelia has always had a crush on her godfather (Ope there it is) but it's never felt like an option considering the fact that he's literally her father's best friend. Then a plan gets set up for them to help eachother find partners. Matis is and has always been a lover. He just wants to be with people and have a good time and is ready to maybe settle down. His goddaughter offers to help him on the dating apps but things start to take a turn after he brings his date back to the sex club and accidentally says Amelia's name during the climax... you can ONLY IMAGINE where things go from there
Matis is a walking STD. He’s legit had sex with probably over 5,000 people, and I’m not even exaggerating. The author legit wrote he has sex once a day with a different person every time, or multiple people a day, since his twenties, and he’s currently in his fifties. Yuck, bro. He still wanted to have sex with other people to get over Amelia 40% into the book. Like bro, that far into the book and he’s calling another girl beautiful and thinking of having sex with her. Like, get out of my face. And he kept telling Amelia like 20 times he doesn’t know if he can be loyal to her💀 like stfu.

I enjoy a taboo romance as much as the next Sara Cate enthusiast - but this was not hitting for me. They were both so whiny about their situation, but also not doing anything to resolve it.
had mixed feelings about this in the beginning, but i ended up loving it! i thought it would be a little corny, maybe everyone would just be okay with their forbidden relationship given the circumstances, but i loved everyone’s reactions. the spice kind of blew me away with how good it was. sara cate really knows how to write a good age gap. 😮💨😮💨😮💨 this book didn’t disappoint! 🥰 you really got to see their connection while still having the sex club/bdsm aspect. 🥰 definitely recommend!!
The Daddy's Girl is my new favorite of the series! And when you meet daddy Matis, you'll understand why!!
I read and reviewed a free advance copy. Thank you Hambright PR. All opinions are my own and given freely.
Amelia has loved the same man her whole life. Only he happens to be her godfather. Her father's best friend. And 28 years older than her. He's never seen her that way. So it's time for her to move on. When she learns that he's tired of current lifestyle and wants to settle down, she decides helping him move on, will help her move on. That's just not what happens though.
This one just ticked off all my boxes. Forbidden age gap vibes. A splash of angst. Plenty of tension and longing. Chemistry that ignites! Both these characters drew me in, but Matis I was a total goner for. The charm. The sex appeal. Sure he didn't know how to communicate to date, but he sure knew how to talk the talk at other times if you know what I mean!! I ate it up. There was also so much tender care and support that brought swoon. ADHD rep too. This book just hit the spot! So much so, I finished it in one sitting. Definitely recommend!
Give me a massive age gap, a forbidden relationship, and a man who absolutely should be off-limits, and I’m in. Amelia has been carrying a crush on Matis for years, so watching her try to move on by helping him navigate the dating world was equal parts painful and entertaining. Their forced proximity made the tension even harder to ignore, and I was completely invested in watching Matis realize just how much he wanted her.
Matis had me from the start. The charm, the confidence, the French accent, the way he tried so hard to fight what he was feeling for Amelia. I ate it all up. I especially loved that their relationship wasn’t just about the attraction. There was so much tenderness between them, and Matis understood Amelia in a way that made their connection feel deeper as things progressed. The family complications brought plenty of angst too, and when everything finally started unraveling, I was glued to the page.
This was such an addictive, swoony, deliciously forbidden romance, and honestly, these are the books that remind me why I love this genre so much. Amelia and Matis completely worked for me, and that final stretch gave me all the drama and payoff I wanted.
This was messy, steamy, emotional, and completely my kind of romance! Definitely one of my favorites in the series!

ALC Review (Audiobook) 🎧
I absolutely inhaled this audiobook! Age gap and forbidden romance are exactly the kind of romances I love, and Amelia and Matis gave me all the tension, longing, and complicated feelings I was hoping for. Matis was ridiculously charming, and hearing Sean Masters bring that French accent to life was honestly dangerous. Desiree Ketchum, Brandon Francis, Samantha Brentmoor, and Aaron Shedlock all brought so much personality to the full-cast performance too, making the whole story incredibly easy to get lost in. I was completely hooked and already know I’ll be thinking about Daddy Matis for a while!
~~~~
I was so excited to experience this one in both formats. Having the ARC and ALC meant I could fully sink into the story, and honestly, it made the experience that much better.
A huge thank you to Sara Cate and Hambright PR for this delicious ARC & ALC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨
Sooo hot. In true Sara Cate fashion of course. If she writes it I’m going to read it.
Thanks to Hambright PR for this one! I got the ARC & ALC and couldn’t be happier about it. These are all of my honest thoughts and opinions.
Salacious Legacy book #3
Matis is 28 years older than Amelia and also her godfather. Let me add in he is also her father’s BEST friend. I mean come on sign me the hell up! She’s been in love with Matis since she can remember.
First off the audio is dual narrated by Sean Masters, Desiree Ketchum, Brandon Francis, Samantha Brentmoor and Aaron Shedlock and I devoured it. It’s so easy to get lost in a good audiobook and this one simply did it for me.
Oh god Matis and that Smokey French accent. I could listen to him all day. He was so protective over Amelia. He pushed her to be the best she could be in all aspects and I loved that. Not only being a down right filthy book, the love between Amelia and Matis was so beautiful. The growth of the two alone and together was marvelous and I expected no less from Sara. I loved this one, probably one of my favorites by her.
This one had all the elements. Angst, drama, yearning to the max, and sexiness pure dripping off the pages. I finished it so fast 😂
Age gap Forbidden romance Full cast narration & dual POV
You couldn’t have paid me to miss out on this one! It’s an age gap dad’s best friend romance from Sara Cate!
I had a great time with Amelia and Matis! Their story is definitely what I’d categorize as a fun quick read that will deliver on the forbidden tension and super hot spice. And there’s something so special about returning to this world that I love so much. I’ll never get sick of it.
Sara is definitely exploring new kinks with this series and I’m here for it! I was completely unprepared for how much I’d enjoy the voyeur scene with Geo 👀 not to mention the breeding and daddy kinks 🥵
And the audio is full cast and AMAZING! If you have a chance to listen you definitely should! But I recommend this one either way!
3.5/5⭐️ for vibes and spice!! this was a fun, easy read I was able to get through in just about a day or two. def high on spice (!!) for story itself, it’s nothing crazy special. the plot is pretty predictable & these characters don’t do much beyond 🌶️🔥🥵 but I had a fun time!
Matis Moreau has been the love of Amelia Kade’s life for as long as she can remember. But there’s just one problem - he’s her godfather and her father's best friend. It’s finally time to let go of her crush, even if he did want her which he most certainly doesn’t - a relationship would be completely forbidden. At fifty three years old, Matis is finally ready to think about settling down after retiring from running a s*x club but he has no idea where to start when it comes to dating. Desperate to move on, Amelia comes up with a plan - to set him up with someone, so she has no choice but to get over him. Matis and Amelia decide to help each other find their perfect match online but as time goes on and they grow closer - they can’t help but fall for one another. And when they finally give in to temptation… there’s no going back!
Wow! What an incredible read! I absolutely LOVED every single minute of this book! It’s safe to say I am COMPLETELY OBSESSED! This book was SO addictive from the very beginning. The chemistry, the tension, the spice.. I was HOOKED! I flew through this book in one day and I could honestly have read about Amelia and Matis forever. They have officially secured a place in my top favorite couples in the Salacious series. I CANNOT wait to get my physical copy and experience it all over again❤️
I think this is one of @saracatebooks best written books yet. The relationship between Amelia and Matis was developed so beautifully, and the progression of their relationship felt incredibly natural. Their banter was amazing and they had me smiling and giggling from the very beginning. And when these two finally gave in…🥵🔥 The chemistry and tension were absolutely undeniable! While the family complications added another exciting layer. The spice? She absolutely delivered! I love the way she always adds that perfect hint of taboo, and this book was no exception.
I thought Sara's portrayal of ADHD was written beautifully and handled with so much care and compassion. I loved how Matis always seemed to know exactly what she needed - whether that was support, encouragement, or simply being there for her❤️
Overall, this was such a fantastic, steamy read with incredible chemistry, plenty of tension and a story I thoroughly enjoyed! This book will definitely be a story I’ll be returning to, and I cannot wait for everyone to meet Amelia and Matis and experience their story for themselves.
If you’re looking for a spicy, forbidden romance with plenty of tension and chemistry, then this one needs to be added to your tbr! Trust me, this is one you do not want to miss😍
Thank you to Hambright PR, Casablanca Books, and author Sara Cate for sending me an eARC in exchange for an honest review🫶
I'm not sure how I feel about this book. It felt very underwhelming. I enjoyed the taboo relationship and how Amelia went after what she wanted. However, it felt like Matis woke up one day and decided that he liked Amelia. His change from "She is my goddaughter; I cannot have feelings for her to" to "I am willing to risk it all" happened almost overnight. They have an interaction that makes him wake up and realize Amelia might be exactly the type of woman he needs in his life. So the love didn't grow instantly, but I didn't believe it took time to grow.
I am a die hard Sara Cate fan. I love the way she tells her stories, and the fact that they are always taboo. I wanted more from this book, and it didn't deliver the way I thought it would. I wanted this story to be more emotional. I believe Amelia's character had a lot of depth, especially since she was dealing with ADHD. She knew her triggers and how to manage her ADHD very well. I LOVED HER. I felt this book was short for me when it came to Matis. I did not enjoy his character as much. The two things I could tell you about him are that he loved running the club with Daddy Kade, and that he would do anything for his mom. Besides that, there wasn't much more about him that stood out to me.
Also, I will always be a Daddy Kade fan, so I am biased. I will always side with Amelia's Dad. He owned my heart first. Matis just got here LOL (Not really; he has been around for a while, but you know what I mean)
I love so many of the tropes in this, but the farther I got into this, the less I enjoyed it….
It’s HOT, and I like the scenes (at the start) but the FMC started to grate on my nerves, and the more I experienced, the worse it got. She was pretty unsufferable — like her actual internal monologue was cringey and so immature.
I enjoyed the forbidden romance, but this book was not for me unfortunately
Fantastic multicast audio but a pretty average story for me. If you’re after a spicy time this is alright. I’m finding the found family vibes between the second generation characters in this series far more thrilling than the actual romances 🤨🤷🏻♀️. I am invested to see how those friendships will develop more over the next three books and if maybe into a romance 👀👀. I will defo pick up Weston book next year and defo on audio. That’s it ❤️
There were moments in this book that I really enjoyed (like the magical night wandering around Paris), and I was rooting for Amelia to get her happy ending, but overall I found this book disappointing. It dragged on for way too long with them going back and forth about whether they could actually be together, and it seemed like Matis was never going to actually commit. With Amelia, I never got a great sense of her character… the people around her told her how brave and strong and awesome she was, but I don’t feel like we actually saw her do much that lined up with those sentiments. And then I really didn’t like the whole “watching with others” thing. I didn’t think the justifications for it made any sense, and I feel like it did a disservice to Matis’ character growth by basically giving him license to stay a playboy and not actually fully change for Amelia (and yes, I know it was her suggestion, but I feel like he should have completely rejected it and found a more normal way for her to be a voyeur).
Well… Sara Cate has only gone and done it again. 😂
This was messy, forbidden and very HOTTTT. The whole dad’s best friend/godfather situation had me knowing I probably shouldn’t be enjoying it as much as I was… but here we are. 👀
Matis and Amelia had some serious chemistry all the way through and I loved watching the tension build between them. The spice was definitely spicing 🌶️🌶️🌶️ and Matis being all grumpy and possessive? Yes please… I was eating that up.
Another super easy read by Sara Cate, that you can fly through. If you like your romances forbidden, complicated and super spicy, then definitely add this one to your tbr!!
One thing is always guaranteed is that I'm always going to have a spicy, blast when I have a Sara Cate book in my hands. Did Sara set out for this to be funny because there were countless times this had me cackling lmao?!!
4.5 stars - I love a good age gap/forbidden romance, and Sara Cate did not disappoint when she gave us Amelia and Matis!
Matis is Amelia’s godfather and her father’s best friend (we met him in The Highest Bidder). He is ready to settle down and Amelia volunteers to help him navigate dating apps. He doesn’t know that she’s harbored a crush on him for years, and she’s finally ready to act on it.
These two were so cute. Matis tried very hard to fight their connection, but they knew each other so well that they fit perfectly. Amelia knew what she wanted, and made it clear.
The ADHD rep was well done. Amelia’s inner monologue was relatable. I liked how Matis consistently encouraged Amelia, and supported her dreams no matter what. ADHD can take a toll on a person’s confidence, but Matis never made Amelia feel less than the beautiful spirit she was.
Of course, the spice was great, but that’s to be expected with a Sara Cate book. Highly recommend this one!
I’m watching them because it gives me control. And that control is intoxicating.
“I’ll do anything for you, Trouble.”
“You’ll have to be quiet, Trouble.”
I couldn’t resist her kiss if I wanted to. And I don’t want to. Not really.
My heart has learned a new rhythm, and its name is Amelia.
“That’s it,” I whisper. “Good girl. Look at you on your daddy’s cock.”
He is mine. He will always be mine. What we have is beyond jealousy or thinly veiled possession. It’s eternal and all-consuming.
✦Thoughts✦ Daddy Matis!!!
I always eat up Sara’s books and this was no exception. Age gap? Forbidden/taboo? HELLLLL YAAA
I think my mouth was hanging open and there may have been drool at few times okay. These two were H-O-T and the forbidden/taboo aspect made it that more delicious. Also the sneaking around the “you have to be quiet” *SQUEALLLLLLLSS*
Amelia has been yearning for this man for yearssss & the build up & tension of them finally be together had me squealing.
The audio for this so good with the full cast! Also the French accent? Gimmmeee
The Daddy’s Girl by Sara Cate had me in a chokehold! 🔥 This book was spicy, emotional, complicated, and definitely had me questioning some of my life choices 😂
The chemistry was 🔥🔥🔥, and I loved the tension between the characters. Sara Cate knows how to write a forbidden romance that keeps you turning the pages, even when you’re screaming at the characters to PLEASE make better decisions!
There were moments that absolutely worked for me and a few things that kept it from being a full 5-star read, but overall? I was entertained, invested, and thoroughly sucked into the story.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Just maybe don’t tell me I’m the same person after reading it. 😂
Absolutely loved this one!! A perfectly sexy forbidden taboo romance that sucks you in and has you loving these two!!
So much tension, chemistry, and absolute yearning between these characters & of course delicious spice!!
Amelia has always had eyes for her dad’s best friend who happens to be her godfather. Of course he’s off limits 🤭 Matis!! The man he is. Protective, and trying to resist their pull at all costs. These two are so undeniably made for each other though!
This one was swoony, steamy, and filled with added drama & a plot that I just loved! This entire series has been so good & I absolutely recommend this new addition!!
This was a fantastic audio also!! Desiree Ketchum & Sean masters did so good with these characters! The added full cast made it so much more fun & all the added tension we felt was delicious!!
Thank you Sara Cate & team for this early arc & alc!!
I have received this advanced reader copy for my honest review
I typically am not a huge fan of age gap , especially if it’s a huge one like this …. BUT Sara Cate writes in a way that it’s not so taboo or creepy. Also considering this is a “spin off” of Salacious, we all know they are a very well diverse in all kinds of relationships.. this book showed that discovering your kinks is acceptable even if it’s with your God father 🤭
