He’s been dead for decades. She makes him feel alive.
Demi St. James bought a haunted house and left her deadbeat boyfriend. In that order.
The niece of the town witches and the sister of the town widow, she was never going to outrun the assumptions of being a little weird in the small coastal town of Ivy Hollow. Vintage record store owner Demi lives life on her own terms, so when her relationship takes a nosedive, she seizes the opportunity to move into the old Victorian mansion at the edge of town: Beaumont Manor.
It doesn’t take long before she realizes that the house came with an undisclosed roommate.
Tristan Beaumont died in 1979 and has been alone in the Manor ever since, watching the years roll by in solitude. His loneliness is his only companion until, that is, Demi St. James walks through his front door.
He’s immediately bewitched by how alive his new roommate is and feels himself pulled into her orbit as if by magic. His interest soon turns into desire, and desire into yearning. Now all he wants in the world is to be able to touch her, know her, love her.
This haunting just got romantic. A twist of fate allows Demi to finally see Tristan; however, seeing is not enough— she wants to keep him. Lucky for her, witchcraft and magic are in her blood, and she’s determined to do whatever it takes to bring Tristan back to life. Demi had always dreamed of a love that could last a lifetime, but is summoning the dead a conjuring too far?
A young woman with a keen eye for creepy decor buys a giant haunted house because that’s literally the dream, only to discover that the resident ghost is sweet and hot and (spoiler) good at mouth stuff. He’s 6’5” of unadulterated, noncorporeal yearning, and she owns a record shop and has great boobs. A big part of romance is the conflict, and it doesn’t get much more conflicted than “one of us is dead”, but there is also a mean sister, a flock of rude Pams, and an ex I long to serve a knuckle sandwich to. Witches! Falling leaves! Coziness! How do these kids make it work? Who says they do? (They do. This is romance; don’t worry.) Ever wonder what a ghostly, East Coast 1970s Hozier would look like as a romantic lead? Wonder no longer!
It’s about a girl who decides to leave her douche bag boy friend and buy the haunted Victorian mansion in town. The entire town knows it’s haunted and so did she, but what she wasn’t expecting is that the ghost is kind of her perfect man.
It has a haunting, a small town atmosphere, and two witchy aunts. The FMC also owns a book store / record store. So it’s pretty much exactly my vibe.
The only reason why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I started to get bored towards the end especially with so many spicy scenes. I really was curious about the plot, so all the sex interrupting plot progression got boring for me.
Also, the ex-boyfriend and all the scenes involving him were written in a very watt-paddy style. Any interaction with that character reads like a 13 year old girl wrote it, so that kind of pulled me out of the story from all the cringing I was doing.
I also don’t think his character added anything to the plot. He was just kind of a pest.
WHY HAVE I ISN’T EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT THIS BOOK?! I loved everything about this book; haunted houses, witches, lonely ghosts who just want to feel again, Maine Coon cats, small town gossip, fantastic 1970s pop culture references, etc. And the spice🥵 Not only was it hot, hot, hot, but it was also written with so much tenderness and warmth that it wasn’t just smut. Also, the author did an impeccable job at capturing the loneliness Tristan felt as a ghost. Him being able to somewhat communicate with Demi but not being able to touch her, take her on dates, kiss her, etc., was so tragic and heartbreaking that it made me cry. The whole story was just incredible and reminded me a lot of a grown up version of the movie “Casper” and also a little bit of the book “Good Spirits” by B.K. Borison, but with its own unique twist to it. I just loved it so much and it’s one that I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
Read for book club and this was honestly pretty fun. It felt very Practical Magic with the witchy aunts and the sisters. I’ll probably read the next one too, which I assume will be about Blue and Noah. I love when you can tell that an author loves something enough to write it into their stories, like with Fleetwood Mac and the rest of the 70s music that featured pretty heavily. I don’t love when a ghost to not ghost thing relies on necromancy the way this does, I prefer it if there’s some other sort of universe magic that allows you to become not a ghost through fate or something, but this actually worked out okay.
Thank you MANDY BEX for the opportunity to read this before its release. Not only did I enjoy this book but it also absolutely put me in the mood for fall. I need pumpkins on my porch immediately. This is such a great cozy fall read with so much emotion and intrigue🧡🧡🧡 It has the perfect amount of spookiness and LOTS OF SPICE 🌶️ I loved this setting and Demi and Tristan 🧡 I wish we would have gotten more of the back story of the aunts since their characters were so interesting. I also feel like the story line with Owen died off a little abruptly and didn’t have much closure there. Despite that I think this book is going to be a huge hit for fall and anyone who loves and spooky cozy romance read 🧡🧡🧡🧡
I was lucky enough to be sent an ARC copy from Mandy Bex email list after seeing this book on Instagram. The name being a Fleetwood Mac song pulled me in immediately as well as the plot.
What I will say at first I did wonder if it was going to be creepy or weird with a ghost falling for his new roommate but what I found charming was the fact he longed for the company and humanity.
The aunts just made me think of the aunts from Practical Magic which is just the best!
The little nods to the music from the 70s and style made me happy.
The songbird scene with the dancing 🥺
I do wonder though, what happens now T is alive? Sequel?
I would also love a book about Blue 🩵
Thank you Mandy Bex for the ARC. I really did enjoy this and I LOVE the cover artwork by Bottlecap Creative 🖤

For the witchy woman who loves practical magic and other 90s and early 2000s witchy movies and romcoms. I absolutely fell head over heels for Demi and Tristan their romance felt tender but at the same time red hot but the stand out relationship here was the one between Demi and her grieving sister Blue. I absolutely loved the sisterly relationship and dynamic and cannot wait for Blue’s story which I hope we will get soon. There were moments that felt a bit rushed or not fleshed out fully but honestly I had an absolute blast reading this book, if I had read this in October I probably would have loved it even more because the vibes are exactly what I look for in a fall read!
Impeccable vibes read. Everything I wanted in a coastal New England, witchy, autumnal, paranormal romance. The ending is corny and I don’t care. Will absolutely read the next one.
I started off with such high hopes, but he turned into a real man way too soon and it was all downhill from there. More like straight off a cliff honestly
I knew this was a must read from the cover alone and then found out it was giving Practical Magic meets Casper? Instantly sold! Throw in a hint of Stars Hallow and this hit all the feel good vibes.
From chapter one I was in love with Demi. Her positive attitude and overall aesthetic made me want to be her bestie. She is an old soul with a big heart. A moment for her family too? Blue is absolutely amazing! These sisters have such a strong bond and the best wit that they will have you laughing and going 'awe' in the same sentence.
Now onto Tristan... the hottest ghost with some of the best yearning. From the moment he laid eyes on Demi he was a goner and following her around like a lost puppy. And when things start to heat up between them, this man has a delicously filthy mouth. If he came with every haunted house, I would go broke buying them all up! Like how do I make this man mine?
If Demi asked me to crawl across the floor, I'd be on my hands and knees for her without a second thought
Gold Dust Woman is a feel good magical romance that will have you reaching for your coziest blanket and a hot cup of tea. The perfect story to add to your fall season reads.
first off, thank you a million times Mandy Bex for allowing me to have an advanced reader copy of Gold Dust Woman <3
when i came across this book on instagram i instantly fell in love on just the cover and the title alone. as a fleetwood mac junkie i just had a good feeling about this one, and boy, was i right. from the very first line, i was enthralled in Demi’s world. every little detail that went into this book was obviously so thought out. she didn’t miss one bit. from Demi’s record store being named Gold Dust Woman, to the witchy vibes of a New England town, to the many music references, Blue’s lighthouse home, and everything in between, i was just happily surprised at every time. when i tell you i was kicking my feet and giggling with Demi and Tristan’s love story, that would be an understatement. it was just ugh amazing. i’m wholeheartedly obsessed. the way tristan loved her would make any girl blush. and demi’s personality was the perfect complement to his caring and confident nature. please, please, please, and i cannot emphasize this enough, read this book. if you don’t pick up another book this fall, just make sure it’s this one.
I went into this book not knowing what to expect, but I was SO excited, and this book did not disappoint! This is by far one of my favorite reads!
Tristan Beaumont is a ghost that has been alone in his home for over 40 years, and then Demi St. James comes along and buys his old mansion. He’s immediately enraptured by her, and the yearning is NEXT LEVEL. He LONGS for her. Demi is a witch, along with her aunts and sister, and quickly learns that her new home is haunted by a handsome ghost that is obsessed with her.
He longs to touch her, hold her, and kiss her, and she longs to do the same to him. Magic and witchcraft make that possible for them, but not without consequences.
I am absolutely OBSESSED with this book, with Demi and Tristan, and with their love story, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves magic, witchcraft, ghosts, and haunted mansions!
Big thank you to Mandy Bex for allowing me to be part of her ARC reader team! It was a pleasure!!
“I bought a haunted house and left my boyfriend, in that order.” I KNOW THAT’S RIGHT, GIRLLLL. 👏🏼
There is SO much I loved about this book. It honestly gave me the best kind of nostalgia because it felt like Ghost + OG Charmed + Practical Magic + Casper, all wrapped up in a paranormal romance. And honestly? I ate it UP.
I absolutely loved getting Tristan’s POV. In so many paranormal romances, we don’t get much insight into the ghost’s perspective, so getting inside his head made this story even better. And the way he goes from calling it “his” house to “our” house??? CHEF’S KISS. 🥹
When he says, “Yes, mine.” IYKYK!! Ughhhshfuishdfiuds.... literally...GIMMIE it. 😩🔥
The tension, the spooky vibes, the romance, the library scene… Tristan gave me goosebumps. I was kicking my feet AND checking the corners of my room. 😂 Like I kinda wouldn't mind being haunted......just saying.....
Also, can we PLEASE make this into a movie or series?! Because I need to SEE this story come to life.
Thank you so much Mandy Bex for the ARC and for the vibes. Until next time Ivy Hollow!! 👻🖤
this was such a spicy fun paranormal time and i enjoyed it!
in this book we follow demi a witch in a small town of ivy hollow. she buys a haunted house who is currently inhabited by the previous owner tristan who was a photographer. this book had forced proximity, some yearning, spice, and small town ghosty vibes.
i loved mandy’s writing as a whole and that made this book stand out to me - i loved the way she made me laugh at the witty things that characters would say and the spice was top tier. the setting was so immersive and i adored that.
the only thing that made me rate this a bit lower was the romance development and how quickly it happened. they just fell in love so rapidly and i’m personally not an insta-love girly but if you love that this is for you!
I loved the concept of this spicy romance! When Demi moves into her new haunted house, she’s greeted by the spirit of Tristan. He’s been trapped in the home for close to 50 years, but now he’s obsessed with Demi. At first, she can’t see him, but soon his form is visible.
As they fall in love, Demi wants to use her witchy family’s spell book to bring him back to life. Necromancy is not without its consequences! You definitely have to read this to find out how these two get their happily ever after!
Mandy Bex looked at Casper and said “What if he was a devastatingly romantic 30 year old ghost instead?” and then absolutely blessed my life with Tristan Beaumont (who I might add has been dead for decades and somehow still has one of the biggest green flags I’ve read all year. Explain that?!)
This book had me giggling, kicking my feet, wanting to buy a haunted Victorian mansion, start a coven with my friends, thrift vintage records and fully convince myself that if a handsome ghost started haunting my house… maybe we should hear him out.
This isn’t just a fall read.
It’s the “cancel your plans, grab your blanket, and don’t speak to me until I finish” fall read. I finished this book wanting to wrap myself in an oversized sweater, light every candle I own, drink something with cinnamon in it and immediately start believing that maybe haunted houses aren’t such a bad idea after all.
If Casper was your first crush, Practical Magic is a year round personality trait and your dream fall aesthetic includes old mansions, witchy women, found family, crunchy leaves and pumpkins around every corner…
Congratulations.
You’ve found your autumn personality in book form.
A huge thank you to the author for the early copy!

I was sent this book early in exchange for a review 🫶🏼✨🎃
Holy freaking hot ghost!!! Wow wow wow, I LOVE Tristan Beaumont and I don’t even care who knows it. This book is EVERYTHING. I am debating how to bully my book club into making this our October read because everyone needs to read this book!!
Demi St James buys the haunted house of Ivy Hollow and ends up falling for the ghost who inhabits it. This story was so romantic, funny, sexy, ALL the good vibes!! 10/10, I wish I could reread it for the first time bc it was so good!!!
Loved every second of this book! Mandy has a wonderful way of writing an all-encompassing, atmospheric story that’ll hook you from the start. I loved the ghost-y element that felt like Sabrina the Teenage Witch instead of dark. Can’t wait for her next story!
“I’m reminded just how fragile life can be, how fickle.”
I haven’t read an indie romance that swept me up off my feet and consumed me like this one in a very long time. Everything from the atmosphere, to the immersive descriptions, the swoon worthy romance, and the VIBES had me in an absolute chokehold. It is a quick read and perfect for lovers of Casper, Practical Magic, 70s music, small towns, and steamy romance.
This is the perfect romance to kick off spooky szn and I highly recommend you preorder to support a talented indie author!

Thank you so much to the author for the advanced copy!!
As soon as I saw this cover I knew I needed this book in my life. I immediately followed the author and added it to my tbr once I read the synopsis of a witchy fmc and her Victorian mansion’s ghost is the love interest?! Say less!!!
Our main character Demi owns a vintage record store and looks like she came right out of the 70s (everything I needed in a FMC). Her ghostly counterpart Tristan literally did come from the 70s since that’s when he tragically passed in a house fire which lead him to “haunt” the home for over 50 years as it sat empty until Demi purchases it and leaves her deadbeat boyfriend.
This story has got two witch sisters with their two witch aunts in a cozy small town, vintage rock and roll details, spells and ghosts, yearning and chemistry that leaps off the page. What more could you ask for?? It is impossible not to root for this couple.
If you love Practical Magic and steamy romance novels this is your perfect fall book!!! the vibes are absolutely perfect for the season and Mandy Bex knocked it out of the park with this book!
This is EXACTLY my style. “Like a sexy grown up Casper meets Practical Magic and a dash of Almost Famous thrown in there.” That’s what I texted my best friend when I sent her the link telling her to read it when I was only like halfway done with it and I STAND BY THAT. GOD THIS WAS GOOD. Read this in the ber months. Add it to your TBR and get it done before Halloween. Holy hell this is so good. Spicy AF and a ghostly good time with a ton of heart still? Yeah.
This is the perfect autumn cosy read, with a whole lot of yearning and a little bit of magic! 🍂✨
Set in the town of Ivy Hollow, we’re introduced to Demi St. James: a blonde bombshell with a passion for vintage fashion, a little witchy aura, and the owner of Gold Dust Woman, the local book and record store. We meet her fresh from a breakup with a deadbeat guy and following her purchase of Beaumont Manor, the town’s renowned haunted house!
Enter Tristan Beaumont — the man, the myth, the… ghost? Stuck in the in-between after a tragic death, Tristan has spent 50 years alone… until he gets a new roommate. And he falls for her immediately. The lines between reality and the paranormal begin to blur, but what happens when a lonely ghost meets a lonely witch?
Set against changing autumn leaves and a cold bite in the air, there’s a storm rolling in, and the day of Halloween could change everything. Who will survive this twist of fate?
You’re just going to have to read it to find out, obvs. 👀
This is a whole new genre for me, with the paranormal element. I was sceptical about how a romance would work with a ghost, but I honestly loved the twists and turns, as well as all the spooky and witchy elements woven throughout the story.
Mandy Bex has such a beautifully descriptive way of writing that I was completely immersed in this story from the very first chapter. I absolutely ate this up and couldn’t put it down!
This book felt like a stormy day, a crackling fire and being bundled up in blankets with a hot cocoa in hand — the ultimate cosy autumn read. 🍁☕️
Thankyou so much Mandy Bex for allowing me to read this as part of your arc team 🤎
So very legitimately one of my new favorite books ever. YEARNING ON MAX. I could not put down Gold Dust Woman! This is Casper all grown up meets Practical Magic, which is my favorite movie, so truly this was a recipe for 5 stars before I even read it. I absolutely loved Demi and Tristan! The way that they slowly connected emotionally broke my heart and then put it back together so many times— if you’re like me and your favorite part of a romance book is the tension before the two main characters can finally unite, this book has that but times infinity given one of them is a ghost and not visible or touchable. I can’t get enough of the way Tristan wanted for Demi from start to finish. He has made his way to the top of my book boyfriend list for sure! And the way Demi fought for herself, her heart, and the man she fell in love with despite the circumstances, made the stakes feel perfectly high. I laughed, I cried, and I sighed in satisfaction over this love story. Easily 5 stars and I cannot WAIT to get back to Ivy Hollow. 5 stars ⭐️
Let me start by saying thank you to Mandy Bex for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for Tristan and Demi’s story 🤍
I knew Gold Dust Woman was going to be one of my favorite reads of the year and it did NOT disappoint!
The vibes and aesthetic are perfect and the spice is chefs kiss 😘 The whole story brought me back to a time when I wanted to BE Stevie Nicks, and as a child when I truly believed I could practice enough and become, a witch.
Demi St James loves everything vintage, and the ghost in her new house is no exception.
Tristan Beaumont has been a ghost longer than he was alive. He’s felt a loneliness most couldn’t even imagine. Until Demi St James buys his long empty mansion and steps inside for the first time.
This one is for the lover girls. The old souls. The hopeless romantics. Ms. Bex has truly given us a gift with this book, and I’m already ready for Ivy Hallow book 2 😅🫶🏻
