I died. I fu*&ing died, and when I woke up in a Los Angeles hospital my best friend walked away from me. It wasn’t quite the welcoming back to the world of the living I thought I’d receive, but it rattled me. My dead best friend led me back to Georgia to get my life together, and while I’m working on it trouble follows me. I try to keep my distance from Jagger and company while I chase after sobriety, but a friend pops back into my life and a private moment is leaked to the world. One of the people I never thought would walk away from me did exactly that. I deal with rejection the best way I can, but before I can clear my head Cory and I are looking down the wrong end of a barrel and I’m forced to fight for my life. We complete our new studio album which means Broken Access and Abandoned Shadow will travel on a promotional tour to tell everyone we’re playing a world tour. While on the promotional tour, I run into jungle peepers, a riot of fans chasing me, a 1% motorcycle club and a one-eyed teddy bear, and two men fighting over me. I keep my head high through the drama, but then I’m asked to be in a steamy video for Broken Access which can only mean more trouble for me. Just when I figured out how to be the best version of me I can be and how to stay healthy, my eyes are open to something I never thought was possible. I must understand the difference between love and lust, and accept that I need a healthy relationship where I’m free to be me.
This is a rock star romance series with a strong female lead, bad boys, and rock romance. This is not your typical rock star romance novel, this book will take you on a different adventure from anything you've ever experienced.
This book is not a stand-alone novel. Books 1 and 2 in the Guitar Face Series should be read first. If you are looking for a story of redemption with comic relief and a heavy sexual mind, you've found it. If you are offended by hot, tattooed rock stars who are vulgar then this is not the book for you. Please be warned, this book is not for anyone below the age of 18. The book has sex, death, violence, and harsh language.
Sasha Marshall is a romance author with an inexplicable attraction to fictional men who probably wouldn’t return her texts in real life. Before channeling her attention deficit disorder into crafting happily-ever-afters, she spent her days as a professional herder of teenagers—think cats, but with more attitude and fewer survival instincts. Prior to that therapeutic experience, she documented the slow descent into madness that comes with touring alongside The Allman Brothers Band, wielding her camera like a weapon against sleep deprivation and questionable tour bus hours.
These days, when she’s not forcing her characters into compromising positions (literally—it’s called “romantic tension”), you can find her being emotionally manipulated by her two dogs, pretending her loved ones don’t secretly judge her book covers, engaging in crafts that look nothing like the Pinterest inspiration, or orchestrating literary chaos through Hot & Steamy Events—because apparently organizing book signings is what passes for a social life in the romance world.
She writes about bad boys with tattoos because, let’s face it, someone has to give these fictional delinquents the character development they desperately need.
5+ Stars!! This was exhausting!! That’s how I feel right now after just finishing Walking Back to Georgia. I had read Guitar Face & There’s No Crying in Rock & Roll earlier but I had to re-read them (which I glad I had a reason to read them again) before beginning this book which I have been excitedly waiting for. I’m not sure if the exhaustion is from reading nonstop for a couple of days to make it through all 3 books or if it’s because Sasha Marshall puts you through everything emotionally. I have had so many laugh out loud moments to doing the ugly cry many times as well.
It’s hard to say much about this book’s contents without giving some of the story away and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone because this truly is so worth your time to pick these 3 books up to read. I was such a fan of Henley and Jag and loved Kip with all of his antics. I didn’t really think that a guy like Kip who could make you laugh so much could also be such a turn on. I guess that’s where Ms. Marshall’s crazy writing skills come into play to make all of these people seem so real to you and make you feel so involved in the lives of all of the people in these books.
For anyone who had read the first two books in the Guitar Face series you know about the cliffhangers in these books and you definitely will not be disappointed…maybe a little surprised…in the path that you take in Walking Back to Georgia and if you haven’t had the chance to read this series from the beginning this is probably one of the best reads that I have come across and I am a huge rock romance fan. I will really feel a loss when this series is finished so I am glad to hear that there will be a book on Kip which I am already impatiently waiting for. At least it will give me another excuse to reread the 3 books before this one comes out. These are the only books that I have read again and have loved them just as much the second time through. With the way Sasha writes I am hoping for a book on each of the band members from both bands!! (I know, I just can’t get enough) Ms. Marshall has made me feel so invested in these peoples’ lives that I will think about these books for a long time to come. Best series ever!! (So this is what a fangirl would sound like?!)
This book was an ARC provided to me by the author for an honest review.
Waited a while for this third part of the guitar face series and it was totally worth it. I received an ARC from the author herself...thankyou Sasha. All our favourite characters come together in this third book, a few new ones too, one of them not welcome at all! Wanted to punch Jagger a time or two and actually told him to shut up!! Henley's journey still wasn't all plain sailing and she needed to go her own way to get back to being herself or a version of herself she is happy living as. Kip is still as original as ever and gets sexier. Now can't wait for number four and Kip's story. Loved this book and read it near enough in one setting. Only stopped to do a bit of gardening and to make my family a meal! Huh you would think my idea that they have toast was a criminal offence!!??!! More please Sasha x
Sigh, I still can't decide which emotions are the most prominent in this series, but I think I can honestly say there were more tears from laughter than sadness in this book, which I can't say for the first two (which are both 5 Guitar/5 Star/5 Whatever reads as well.) The emotions, oh the emotions....it continues to be the roller coaster that I am not sure anyone other than Ms. Marshall can bring out in me.
I can't focus on the rough things right now....just can't do it. It wouldn't be in the Guitar Face series without a few ugly cry moments, and a handful of WTF moments....I think I was hurt almost as bad as Hen with a certain characters' drunken rampage of hatefulness. I had to walk away and catch my breath, as if it had happened to me personally. I have gotten way too attached to these characters, but I have to say that is testament to the rare talent that Ms. Marshall is unleashing on an unexpecting world. Honestly, I don't know that I could handle many more authors who could play with my emotions the way she does. I have an ex husband who never brought out this level of emotion in me. That deserves major respect amd I am showing it the best way I know how.
Kipley Takes Coney Island may be the most epically awesome scene ever written. I would probably have to give this book 5 Guitars on that alone. If you can read through all of that without laughing out loud, repeatedly, I really don't think we can be friends. I need to see at least that night on the small screen at the very least. It is taking extreme restraint on my part not to say anything else, so I will move on to another scene that continues to make me laugh, even after finishing Book 4 as well - sorry, I just couldn't stop to write a review before diving in. I almost did the same on into Book 5, but I didn't want to take a chance on confusing what belongs to which book.
Okay, jungle peepers. And malaria. That is all I am going to say directly from the book. I laughed so hard I woke my daughter up, and her room is upstairs and on the other side of the house. And everytime thjose things were mentioned again, I laughed hysterically, to the point of tears, more than once.
Oh how I long to be in that studio with Red and Hen. I want to hang out with Red, period. Maybe because my love for the guitar (translate: guitarists)comes from my grandpa who has been gone much too long, and who brought Johnny Cash into my life, though in a more ephereal way than Red brought him into Henley's.
Touching moments with Caleb. Enough said. I am amazed with the way she is able to keep him in the heart of all of these books.
I want a bulldog more than I ever have, and I have always wanted one, so that's saying a lot. I promise I will name him Cash if I ever get the chance to have one of those amazing creatures grace my life.
The video shoot. Beyond amazing. I really, really want to see this video, if only for the costumes. No, I haven't COMPLETELY forgotten that this is a work of fiction, but I would be first in line for meet 'n greets if they were real. I might even have to move to Macon, Georgia.
This is all just the highlights of the highlights. This series is a must read for all my rocker romance girls. MUST READ.
For the over 18 and not easily offended crowd. The hot times continue to be hot, and there are plenty of other things that just need an adult perspective, even if these idiots don't act like adults very often. Hey, they are now my idiots. I don't know that there has ever been a series that has drawn me in more, and I know no other series has come close in the quantity of moisture leaking from my eyeball orifaces, either from laughter or pain. Amazing, absolutely amazing. Star with Guitar Face, continue on with There's No Crying in Rock 'n Roll and then this one, and I am sure you will move right on to River of Deceit.
Where do I start? Walking Back to Georgia picks up right where There's No Crying in Rock in Roll left off. I don't want to add any spoilers but to all things holy I never saw this coming! Sasha Marshall you are the worst kind of tease I have ever had the please of coming across. You get me every time! SO readers beware! Just this time there is no tears thank heavens! Just body aching, tablet gripping, soul scorching........ please hurry with the next book. We kind of need it. In Walking Back to Georgia we get to see all of our old friendly faces. We get to hear from everyone and see some of the the story through their eyes. I have been a huge fan of this series since reading Guitar Face. I have cried, been mad, happy and everything else along side these wonderful characters. After reading Walking Back to Georgia I can truly can say this is my favorite book so far. Maybe I shouldn't say that oh well. There was something just honest and striped down this time. Even with the crazy ending I was not left hanging. I hope this rambling helps. This was an AMAZING book. If you haven't picked it up or the rest or the Guitar Face series you should definitely go do that right now! Go now!! You will not be sorry!
Ok so i am totally new to this whole ARC reader thing, but since i couldn't wait any longer to read the book i just had to do it. I will absolutely try not to spoil it for anyone but before you read this book you must pick up the first two in the Guitar Face series. In this book that I could not put down to the point I read it in the car with my husband driving risking car sickness just to finish the last 10 percent I had left. I cried a lot of tears in some parts because darn it how much can one person take and still recover!! Henley the rock goddess is just that a rock!! After taking so many hits and suffering that she has she still push on. She went from one extreme to another till finally she took a step back and found what I sure in the heck didn't see coming. Sometimes it take going through so much to get to the point where you can see what is right in front of your face. I admire Henley so much for just surviving what many people can't and pushing on and in this case pushing back just as hard! Through the tear I shed I laughed just as much! Holy crap sometimes I laughed so much my kids thought I had lost my dang mind. This book was the perfect blend of drama comedy preservation and finding real love in the mist of complete chaos. PLEASE people read this series!
Book: Walking Back to Georgia: Guitar Face Series Book 3 (Guitar Face #3) Author: Sasha Marshall Publication Date: 6/26/2015 Reviewed by: Tammy Payne- Book Nook Nuts My Rating: 5 Stars
REVIEW Wow just freaking WOW book three blew me away. I love how everyone from the previous books are still with us. Adding more to this already crazy story. We go from crazy stalkers, manic fans and a few hearts broken. Jagger and Ian are battling with each other for a second chance when it's been one band member all along for Henley. They are all still battling their grief from the loss of Caleb and things happen which brings that grief back full force. Each book truly gets better and although yes there are grammar issues, I enjoyed this story. I highly recommend it if you like a strong story with strong characters. Start with book one.
I was gifted this book for my honest review. Sasha Marshall
I received an ARC of Walking Back to Georgia, After devouring Guitar Face & AIn't No Crying in Rock & Roll - I could not wait for the third installment - Received and read it today - First thought I had is this is a journey that Henley must go through but let me tell you I sure as hell didn't see it coming - I am sure the "clues"were there but hey - dense much? I am not going to give a synopsis but only a recommendation that if you are a Rock Romance Junkie - Get this Series - Like NOW - If you already been raked through the coals with the first 2 -You ain't seen (read) nothing yet Sasha Marshall is an evil genius
I love, love, love Sasha Marshall and the Guitar Face series!!! I received an ARC copy of the third book in the series and it did not disappoint. I cried and cried, I wanted to throat punch Jagger, and then I laughed so hard I cried again. The book took a very unexpected turn but oh what a turn!! Kip and Henley or my favorite characters! Team Kipley!! I can not wait for the fourth book!!! Thank you Sasha Marshall!!!
Oh this series!! This book took a turn I wasn't expecting and it took me a minute to get used to the idea. I don't want to give anything away but some characters pissed me off and some made me melt a little. Overall, I simply can't be disappointed in a Guitar Face book. One of my most favorite series. Can't wait for the next.
Since the author does such a great job of writing a synopsis for this book and I don't know that I could write one without giving stuff away, I will just jump right in to my review.
First I have to say a huge thank you to Sasha for the ARC...after book two's cliffhanger, the wait would have just killed me. Once I started reading I literally couldn't put this one down until I finished it. I finished it around lunch and spent the entire afternoon trying to decide what to write and how exactly to write for this review. See, I'm really torn. While like the other books, this book is extremely well written and has everything I have come to love from this series, passion, drama, humor, angst and heartbreak...it did not turn out how I thought it would at all...which left me feeling sad and disappointed. I was going to give it a four, since I wasn't happy about the end, but then I started thinking about the fact that I was still thinking about it and that the author did such an amazing job with the characters that after spending all these hours with them, I felt connected enough to be upset about the outcome which made me realize, this has to be a five.
And that's all I am going to say...I am not going to spoil the plot or give anything away...this book and this journey so far has been too good to spoil it for anyone. Start with book one, and get ready for the ride this series will take you on!
My thoughts:
POV switches between several characters throughout Quick hook or slow starter? 5 (I was hooked from the first chapter) Character development: 5 Level of Romance between characters: 5 Passion/Heat level: 5 (there is just the right amount of heat and passion for the story.) Angst/Heartbreak: 5 (this one like the others in the series is an angsty ride and I was truly heartbroken in the end) Cliffhanger?: Yes, I thought book three was the end but looks like there is more of this group to come.
Overall, I loved it...even though I must once again express my unhappiness at how it turns out...but that's just me...I will get over it and be ready for more adventures from this group in the next book.
I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Henley was a rock star who appeared to have it all. Little did her fans know just how much heartbreak and how many complications she had in her life. It took Henley's near death experience to get her back to Georgia to try to fix her broken life. When all her friends came to Georgia to show their support, it was almost more than Henley could deal with. She'd been through betrayal and heartache, but always trusted Kip, her best friend, to be by her side. When she overdosed on drugs and nearly died, Kip was upset. Not only was he hurt, but mad that she'd do this to herself. He's always loved his best friend and been there to support her for many years, but he couldn't bear the thought of losing her. Will he be there to help her through her future heartbreaks or did she lose her best friend forever?
Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to read the first two books in the Guitar Face Series, but book 3, Walking Back to Georgia, intrigued me enough to want to go back and read them. This was a great story and I loved the bonds between the characters and I was thrilled with Kips crazy rantings. The plot was complex, but profound. The varied characters were emotional, touching, and at times, comical. The ending was fantastic and I can't wait for M-O-R-E, more! I had a great time reading Walking Back to Georgia and I'll be talking about this one for a while. I loved it! 5 Stars!
I don't even know how to start to write about this book. If you're the kind of reader that likes a fairytale story with a nice girl that's been through hell with a bad boy and then magically happens to be happily ever after, this book is not for you.
This third book is basically about Henley's recovery from all the bad situations that she's been through in the last book. Since the beginning she tries her best to stay away from the things and people that she knows hurt her most and this includes her bests friends.
She goes back to Georgia to think about her life because she needs space from everything and everyone. She goes back to her grandfather.
It's beautiful to see the steps of her recovery and the beginning of a new love. She realizes that she has a new and strong feeling with Kip which I believe it's going to be way more mature than her lasts relationships.
The book finished in a way that makes you want to read the next one.
The thing that made me give 5 stars is the fact that in real life we struggle to find happiness and it's really rare to stay forever with your first love. I think the whole series make you think about your choices in life and that you can make better than you already do.
Great story! Now I'm ready for Kip...

WOW WOW WOW, Henley has had it hard, she is having trouble finding herself after Calebs death. She lost her best friend. She starting using drugs, She misses Caleb dearly. She is still trying to deal with the words Jagger spoke to her. Now she has a stalker also. This stalker is making her life miserable. Her friends and band mates don't know how to help her to stop using the drugs or find the peace she needs. Everyone is lost with out Henley, they all still mourn the loss of Caleb. They are all in Georgia for Henley just show her they are there for her if she needs them. She found someone to play the guitar. He isn't replacing Caleb because no one can replace him. There is some scandals as always with being a rock star. There are some surprises also. You will feel the emotion in this book. What will book 3 bring?
MUST READ!!!!! Received an ARC from the fabulous author, thank you Sasha you are awesome! I love this series so much that I reread the first 2 before reading this one (all 3 books in 4 days! My family is happy to have me back:-) First of all I want to say how much I absolutely love Sasha's writing style and all of the characters in this series! Kip of course is my favorite, every book ever written should have a Kip in it! I don't know how many times I had tears rolling down my face from laughter! The way Henley handles her recovery is refreshing and beautiful. I am amazed by her strength of character and her loving/forgiving nature, I just really wanted to hug her so many times and tell her how much I admire her. So excited for the next book......!!!! Keep'em coming :-)
I received an advanced readers copy, and it was amazing! This book was the best one yet! Sasha Marshall hit it out of the f'in park. This book has everything you could possibly ask for out of a rock star romance. I'm so in love with this characters, especially Kip :) They are all so real, and so relatable. I love how she makes sure the characters heal. Like she doesn't skip the nitty gritty and go straight to happily ever after. Much more realistic that way. Plus, her books are long, like she's a genius for being able to write books this long. But as soon as your done reading, your instantly sad. I wish like hell I would have read his book slower! I miss my friends. This series is a must read!
I was so thrilled when I found out I was gonna get an ARC on this book and totally excited when it showed up on my kindle!!!! This is the first book that I've read (and I read a LOT) that I hadn't read the description and read any of the reviews and I ALWAYS read the reviews. But this book was excellent!!! It had me hooked from beginning till end. I loved the HEA that Henley got kinda wasn't expecting that one but was totally great the way it happened. This was a GREAT series and I can't wait until Kip's book and I really hope it don't have to wait to long. If you haven't read this book or any of the others in this series get to it now. I mean really what are you waiting for you won't be disappointed at all!!!!
Sasha, all I have to say is this book series just blew me away! I have read tons of books in my life and not one of them has effected me like this one has. I never laughed so hard, when it came to what came out of Kips mouth! How did you come up with all that crazy!I thought that alone was genius! But, also never needed so many tissues either! I cried so hard at times my husband thought I needed a visit to a padded room! This series was absolutely the most well written , emotional, and funniest book I have ever read. You are the Bomb Sasha!!! I can't wait to see what's next to come out of you're creative mind of yours!
OK so let me start by say I bleeding love this book series! so I was looking for something to read and I saw these books. I very rarely comment on author's or books just give a rating, I so could not just do that with these books. I haven't even finished the 3rd book but had to say I haven't read a book series that I loved as much in a long time... I will be looking out for more books by Sasha Marshall her writing just kept me reading it was funny and emotional and deep well f**k I loved it! Ms Marshall bloody good job! I could get technical and lyric on about nuances but really I just enjoyed it, isn't that what a good book is supposed to do....
I loved this book! I love the whole Guitar Face series, but I think this was my fav book. And you ladies know why (didn't want to put any spoilers in here...but KIP is AMAZING)All the characters are front and center and they are all so real. Sasha does a great job of writing these relatable people and fun/normal situations. She doesn't skip anything, she lets the reader in on every fun thing that happens. I just love everything about this book. When I was finished reading it, I was so bummed that it was over. SO READY FOR BOOK FOUR!
I received an ARC copy of the book. Again, after reading the first two books in the series, this one didn't disappoint either. The characters are very well developed and the story line is flowing beautifully. What i like the most is that the author did the research on music industry and makes the reading more interesting. I can't wait for the next book!
I got an ARC copy of this book, and it was the best thing EVER!!!! I am 100 % obsessed and addict to these people. I am actually sad that I finished Walking Back to Georgia so fast, b/c now I miss my friends. Kip is so damn hot and lovable! And Henley is as real as a character can get. Well written, steamy, smart...I could go on and on about how much I loved his book. Y'all check it out!!!
I love the Guitar Face Series. Was very excited to read this book! The third book was long in coming. Well written but with a few errors but this didn't bother in the reading of the book. The only complaint was the abrupt ending to this book. Now we have to wait for Kip's book :( ugh hate that! But in all, would very much recommmend this series
I have read all three Walking Back to Georgia! I absolutely love this author and her story. I don't like to go into detail about a book, but I guarantee you will not be sorry for taking the time to read this series. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. Thank you Sasha for such a good read!
I LOVE this story!! I'm attached to the characters! I was shocked and in awe of the ending. I'm upset it's over and my fingers are crossed for a speedy release for Sasha's next book.
I did feel that this book was a little overloaded with all this "stuff" that kept happening. I kept thinking, Jesus, enough's enough.
I don't even know where to begin with this series. All I can say is hands down one of my favorite series I've read to date, and I read a lot! I was captivated from the start and the end blew me away...did not even expect the outcome! I was anxiously waiting for the final book to be released in this series and Sasha did not disappoint! All I can say is I need more!!!!
OH Lord!!! You can't help get sucked into this series! So for it's been a joy ride to follow these cast of characters. I was pissed at the fact about of who Hen was going to end up with, but at the end of this story I feel excited for her!!! Thank You Sasha for amazing book! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!
I received advanced copy from United Indie Book Blog for my honest review. Love this book it was a emotional roller coaster and couldn't stop reading it. Sometimes their will be a person who will be your light and right for you. You will have to follow your path to see your sunshine at the end of tunnel waiting.
Another great book in this series! This book cause series emotions while reading, I was rooting for Jagger but I decided I would rather throat punch him instead. I love that Henley found her strength again. Most of all I think Kip can be my new book boyfriend, I enjoyed all the crazy that is Kip. Looking forward to book 4.
This book has a wonderful love story, hot sex, humor and every emotion you can possibility feel! Every book I've read in this series just gets better! Highly recommend this book to everyone!
