As good a premiere as it can get. I love the good old spidey with a sense of comic relief. The emphasis was clearly on transformation of spiderman from amazing to ultimate. I loved all the characters introduced, superb illustration and awesome colors. 24 pages of pure joy
I've always loved Spider-Man since I was a little kid so I saw this and had to get it.
There's the casual comedy of Spider-Man as usual, the characters we all know and love, and a vaguely aware plot line. I can only wish there was more of a plot line in this, but this is definitely great for kids!
As a tv tie-in this is probably dumbed down a little, but that means a comic novice like me can follow it. Classic Spider-Man humor, and all the recognizable characters, with a not bad little plot considering how short it is.
I'm a fan of Spider-Man since the 60's (yep, older than dirt, when I was a kid the Dead Sea was still sick, etc) so I decided to read this edition. Reasonably close to the original version with a few modern touches thrown in.
But even for a comic book it was extremely short. This copy was free with my Kindle unlimited plan. If I had to pay more than $0.25 it wouldn't be worth it when I can buy a paper copy with double the pages...
I am reviewing the free copy. This issue introduces Spider-Man to a new audience. All major characters were introduced in this breezy issue; anyone who have seen Sam Raimi and current Marvel movies would be familiar with them.
