I've read the first three stories in this omnibus. Ghost Relics is also included in Exile of the Ghosts so I'll probably read it later. I am trying to read the Ghost Exile books in the order they were published so I am going back and forth between actual novels and the short stories. I also have duplicates as some books I have purchased individually, not realizing I already had them in a collection. That said, I have already reviewed Ghost in the Cowl as a stand alone novel.
Ghost in the Maze introduces a new character, a master thief, who recruits Caina (or vice versa, can't remember) into stealing from Grand Master Callatas. He includes some other individuals who he has worked with before. The maze is guarded by a djinn, the same one who has been communicating with Caina in her dreams. The djinn is compelled to immediately notify Callatas of anyone attempting to enter the maze surrounding his laboratory so they have to find a way around him and other deadly obstacles.
A new enemy is attempting to convince Callatas to have Istarinmul join the Umbarian in overtaking the Empire.
Ghost in the Hunt brings the Red Huntress to light. She is sort of a minion of Callatas but will do what she wants to do and not follow his orders to the letter. She infiltrates the coffee house owned by Caina's friends and fellow Ghosts and studies Caina until she knows her every move.
Caina and her cronies set out to visit The Emissary whose predictions always come to pass. This mystic also has the only weapon known to injure the Red Huntress. Caina knows she must obtain the Staff and Seal of Iramis before Callatas can acquire them to complete the Apotheosis. The Emissary reveals that the loremaster Annarah was the last to have possession of these objects. Caina is informed by the Red Huntress that Caina is in possession of the pyrikon that had been owned by Annarah. She hopes this may give her an edge in locating the hidden objects. A battle ensues between the Red Huntress and Caina's associates. Caina and Claudia work in harmony.
