Decent sourcebook outlining the 3151 era in Battletech. Lots of troubles afoot for the Inner Sphere, and it'll be interesting to see what happens to the Great Houses, Clans, Republic of the Sphere and the rest of the IS.
Not only do the stories presented hold up, but it provides interesting planet tidbits, details on important players in the ilClan era and the art is frankly phenomenal.
If you like Battletech and want to keep up on the lore, pick it up.

Politial maneuvering within House Kurita relegates the war for New Avalon to a bit of a side show as far as that faction is concerned. There are opportunities for a campaign in here as enterprising mercenaries work to help either faction or even Battleforce scale engagements between the substantial forces deployed by the Federated Suns or the Draconis Combine defenders. Main thrust of this plot line is a setup up for consolidation of power in House Kurita and a shakeup in House Davion.
The majority of the action is civil strife in the Rasalhague Dominion which the book title might have clued you in on but the cover probably distracts from. The writers had a lot to work with here looking at how a combined inner sphere/clan society would respond to and navigate the declaration of an Ilclan on Terra.
Most of the book is well done with historical style narrative interspersed with random news segments, opinion pieces and letters to illustrate some of the events from another angle. A couple of these segments are mildly cringe inducing with one featuring a prehistoric meme that seems really out of place and another with a parody of Tucker Carlson. Elements like these make the setting feel even more dated than some of the factions being 80s caricatures of major powers when BattleTech was first conceived.
Great artwork and layout as seems to be the standard with Catalyst these days. Out of the Ilclan source books, this one is the most significant advancement to the setting after Ilclan. There's even a superheavy mech design included.

This sourcebook for Battletech and its sister games describes the situation in the Draconis Combine and its immediate neighbors: the Federated Suns and the Rasalhague Dominion in 3151 to mid 3152.
Like Battletech: Tamar Rising. this offers a drill down from the Battletech Universe focusing on this specific region, and moving the timeline forward a little. Unlike Tamar Rising, I find the opportunities for play in this region a little less interesting. It should still provide a bigger picture for the forthcoming Battletech Aces: Snowblind campaign.
There is slightly more rules info here than there was in Tamar Rising (my review for that here), with stats for one mech (the superheavy tripod Ares Apollo mech), and rules for mobs to bring urban unrest to the Battletech gaming table (at least for Battletech, there don't appear to be Alpha Strike rules here, but they will presumably be in Snowblind).
