And one daughter, handed across a table to make it stop.
I volunteered. Better me than my sister - I've spent my whole life being the useful one, and this is just the largest bill I've ever paid.
The contract is twelve pages long. I read every one.
Which is how I found the clause buried at the the marriage remains unconsummated for one year. A door left open, in case the peace fails and both families need to pretend this never happened.
I can live with a husband I didn't choose.
It's the wanting him that will ruin me.
Dante
My father died at a wedding, celebrating a peace exactly like this one.
So when the lawyers put an exit in the contract, I signed it without reading twice. A year untouched. A clean way out if the truce collapses.
Then she walked into my house with her chin up and her hands steady, and started correcting my lawyers in front of both families.
Now I have a wife I'm forbidden to touch, sleeping down the hall from me.
And every night I don't go to her, I understand a little better what my father died believing.
That some things are worth burning the exit for.

Contains explicit content and violence. Intended for readers 18+.
Going into this book I was excited because of the summary but I quickly realized how much I hated the writing style… so it took me a lot to finish it but all in all I’m sure there will be people that love this book and maybe if I wasn’t so picky as far as how the writing is done I would have given this a higher rating but alas it was a flop for me
Livia and Dante were the perfect pair. Bound by a simple clause in the marriage contract but neither finds easy to resist.
These two are bound in an arranged marriage that has a contract that stops the intimacy in the marriage.
Livia is a strong and capable woman but she condemns the clause she found in the contract. only she finds it and points it out. but Dante made the contract. still the chemistry builds and the attraction is hard to resist.
So well done. A real pleasure as it was a first by this Author for me. not the last for sure. just amazing
I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I felt like Livia emasculated Dante at all times, not sure how he was a Don. I know where her position came from, but it made it very difficult to like her. Their relationship was monotonous and robotic most of the book. And when he finally said he loved her, and she said it back I didn’t really felt any connection at all. Not sure how to feel about it. Plus most of the things that happened just stayed in limbo.
This is the first book of the Serafina Sins series. I loved every page of Dante and Livia’s steamy story. It’s a captivating arranged marriage, enemies to lovers romance. Their chemistry was intense. He’s possessive and protective. She’s a strong woman. The perfect couple. I enjoyed this dark, mafia, slow burn.
