I really am enjoying Suzanne's Blushing Death series and I eagerly look forward to the release of each new book.
What's not to like when you have a powerful female character that more often than not kicks butt, has a love of weaponry (bulleted and bladed) and has two fabulous lovers (a Vampire and a Werewolf)...... which is incidentally one of my top paranormal relationship favorites.
The newest contribution did not disappoint with its trials and tribulations abound, in and out of the Faerie world.
In order to get the best continuity, I recommend reading the stories in order. If you haven't read the series you might want to just get them all, as I feel currently the electronic purchase cost is quite reasonable for the length.
The Blushing Death Series: Book 1 Pool of Crimson Book 2 Midnight Ash Book 3 Sliver of Silver Book 4 Golden Anidae Book 5 Black Dalliances
I have added Suzanne (http://www.suzannemsabol.com) to my Paranormal writer favorites list and I rate her right up there with other series fav's like: Faith Hunter's 'Jane Yellowrock'; Carrie Vaughn's 'Kitty Norville'; Jennifer Estep's 'Elemental Assassin'; Patricia Brigg's 'Mercy Thompson'; Kim Harrison's 'The Hollows' and Karen chance's 'Dorina Basarab'.
Coming back might have taken her awhile, but getting the trust of Patrick back could be harder than she ever realized. Leaving him caused a rift she doesn't know how to fix, but when he is kidnapped and taken to the Faerie realm she'll do anything to get him bacl. He might be an ass but he's her ass after all.
Dean is finally getting his chance and he's not about to waste it, even with tensions high between Dahlia and Patrick. Dean and Dahlia are finally getting a chance to be together long denied by circumstances, and I loved seeing their happines together. It made what would have been a more tension filled read and broke things up by showing that there's always a bright spot in their world.
Seeing more to this world you get sucked in once again wanting to know what will happen next. With each book the story grows and I'm excited to see what will happen next!
Another fine installment in this series . This is certainly one of my favourite authors. I like the characters which maintain their distinctive traits and personalities, keeping the flavour consistent.
The action is always well done, even though they shouldn't get up anytime soon.
The only complaint I have is I really don't understand why authors continue the overused 'quest' theme. It truly pains me. It's something that was decent in the early days, then should have been ditched.
Lord of the Rings, Gormenghast, Shananara, Neverending Story, Indiana Jones ...
Loved it! Don't know how many times I can say this but you need to read this series! Dahlia and Dean travel the the outer realm to rescue Patrick. Dahlia gives up some of her abilities to gain access to a weapon to defeat the monster holding Patrick. Meanwhile Patrick realizes how much he needs Dahlia and when they escape with Patrick's heart in a box, they find their way back to each other.
